Hi Wally,
I don't think it's a stupid question. The certification name
is kind of a
misnomer. Yes, the exam definitely tests on many aspects of
the actual
Dreamweaver IDE product. And honestly, I think the same can
be said for
some other major certifications (i.e. Microsoft .NET exams
definitely have
some Visual Studio type of questions on there).
However, the Dreamweaver certification tests in these major
areas:
- Project Requirements, Site Design, and Usability Techniques
- Implementation and Coding
- Solution Testing, Deployment, and Maintenance
Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc... are all tested for.
Hopefully that clears up some confusion.
Thanks,
Brian

  • Dreamweaver 8 Certification Help

Hi, I am new to this message borad and would like your loving
guidance in regards to the Dreamweaver 8 Developer Exam.
I have been working for 8 years now in client side and server
side web development and I would like to get certified in
everything I know. All though I am quite confident in Photoshop and
Flash, I am not quite confident in Dreamweaver 8.
I was just wondering if there is anyone here who is
Dreamweaver 8 Developer Certified and who would like to share what
the test consists of (e.g. the kind of topics discussed, what I
should study for etc.), how difficult they believed it to be and
any references and/or study guides that you may have found useful
    in pursuit of your certification.
Maybe there is some sample tests on the internet you used
    which proved helpful.
NOTE: I am not interested in books (stuff you buy) as I have
booked the Dreamweaver test all ready and it is coming up in 3
weeks, so not enough time to get something off Amazon.
Anyway, any real help would be appreciated. Please help.
    Regards
    Kosta

The test is hard, comprehensive, and sometimes misleading. It
    covers HTML,
CSS, javascript, and server scripting methods.
As far as I know, the only mention of study guides is on
    Adobe's site.
I don't think you'll find anyone that would be more explicit
    than that,
though. If you are comfortable with all aspects of DW's UI,
    and with
working in code view, you'll probably do OK.
I'm surprised that you have found an exam for DW8, though,
    with CS3 now the
    current version....

  • Dreamweaver ACE certification exam

I would like to take the Dreamweaver ACE certification exam. Can you recommend study materials and practice exams. When will the Dreamweaver CS6 exam be available.

I'd recommend that you consider the practice exams from ExamAids - http://www.examaids.com.  I expect that the Dreamweaver one will be available within the next 2 months. Meanwhile, you can learn a great deal from the Adobe Dev center articles, and from reading this forum, for that matter.
Disclaimer - I am associated with ExamAids and have been responsible for the last several versions of the Dreamweaver exams.

  • Spry tabbed panels java script error screwing up whole page when I reopen document in dreamweaver

    I need help!
I am creating a site in dreamweaver and I am using spry tabbed panels for my content on every page.  I've created 4 pages.  When I go to reopen the pages after quitting dreamweaver 2 open and work just fine.  However, for the other two I receive a window that says,
this document contains javascript code for a widget that no longer exists.  If you don't remove the code, the browser may display javascript errors when loading the page.  Would you like dreamweaver to find all instances of this code for you.
I've selected both yes and no options and either way my entire page becomes all jumbled.  I've tried deleting the script in code view and it doesn't help?

  • Web Design Qualifications, Why Dreamweaver and Hosting Companies

    What a wonderfully lovely forum!
Thank you for the information – was most helpful!
(See thread ‘Bugs, Viruses and Webdesigners’)
Have since carried out a little more research and with
everything in mind, I have decided to give doing my own website
another go and would appreciate any advice on the following.
The site will have. . .
    - A small online shop (whereby customers can browse various
    items and pay (securely) online).
    - Various details about my business.
    - Quite a few photographs (though most are quite small
    – the odd one being of reasonable size).
    - And I will be editing the site on an almost daily basis (my
business holds various showjumping competitions so results, show
dates, class times, photographs etc will need updating frequently).
First of all, I do not want this bug lark all over again
(please see afore mentioned thread). Can anyone recommend a good
hosting company which is easy to use, can facilitate the above
features, will allow me to use my own website builder and which
will cater for a small site without allowing bugs, viruses etc to
    cause me problems?
(I want extreme security this time).
And if I decide it’s beyond me and want to go with a
website designer are there any certifications/licences they should
have that I need to look out for?
Also (so many questions, I am sorry) is there any reason
Dreaweaver is the preffered tool? I feel it's out of my depth but
wonder what makes it so special?

    Hi! Phoebe
    > Thank you for the information ? was most helpful!
The forum as you say is lovely and full of great information
    for the
beginner and the advanced user. So don't be afraid to ask
    questions.

This is a big request for most website builders, designers,
    etc, how ever it
is not imposable to do with the right tools. you might want
    to look at using
somthing like paypal to get started in this direction first.

You will need a good photo editor to make your images
    sutitable for
displaying in your site, Keep the origanals (large images) of
    the site and
the site for down loading after they are paid for.

I have use a company called Cristal Tech web hosting for
    about six years or
longer I can't rember for sure but they have plans for every
    one from small
personal sites to verry large corpeation sites. They offer
    full controle

    whatever you
have to do. I have never used a redy made site builder I
    stared with note
pad and then to editpad and up to dreamwever with version UD1
    which I think
was dreamweaver two or three but I have always had my own
    tools to upload my
    sites.

  • Adobe Master Suite Certification

I am looking at doing Adobe courses online at home in my spare time hoping to achieve The Adobe Master Suite Certification.
I have one UK website where I go to buy my online courses and at the moment they do all the main Adobe courses, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator etc...but these courses have to be done with the same product and in this case all in CS5 or all in CS6 but I am a full member of the Creative Cloud and want to achieve the Adobe Master Suite Certification with CC otherwise I need to buy all the software seperatly which I will not do.
Can anyone tell if it is possible to Achieve The Adobe Suite Certification with Creative Cloud.
    Thanks
    Simon

I just installed Master Suite CS4 today and had the same issue - Flash CS4 "failed".  Ironically, that's one of the key applications I need to use immediately.  I used the "Standard Install" option instead of "Custom Apps".  Following the failure the setup script instructed me to reboot, disable AV (Kaspersky) and try to install the failed application again.  I did this, it required slipping in all 4 discs but succeeded.   No call to support needed.

  • ADOBE Dreamweaver Web Design Exam

    Hi All
I have recently taken, and passed, two courses/exams in both Dreamweaver 8 and an Introduction to HTML.
Next year I would like to devote a lot of my time to building websites using the above skills that I have recently attained, however I would also like to attain an ADOBE Web Design Certificate but am unable to find out exactly what the exam will ask me. I guess I am after a rundown on what areas the official ADOBE course provides so that I know which areas to focus on in able to have a good chance during the exam.
Is anything able to provide me with a description and a full rundown of the ADOBE Web Design (Dreamweaver) course?
    Thanking you

DW 8 is a legacy product (no longer supported).
You'll need to learn CS5 to take the Dreamweaver exam.

  • Flash8 certification

    9A0-311
Certified Macromedia Flash 8 Exam is a Developer + Designer
    Exam ?
PLs Tell me. its a confusion part.
i saw Certified Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Designer Exam,
Certified Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Developer Exam, Certified
Dreamweaver 8 Developer Exam. but Certified Macromedia Flash 8 Exam
    not specifing that.
that means Developer or Designer Exam.
    PLs Tell me

Yes, it's both. You won't be able to find any study guides on
it either so pick up both for the MX 2004 exams. Also, you may want
to wait a bit to see if CS3 exam comes out because you'll only have
6 months to take that exam once it's out before you lose your
    certification.

  • Train a Trainer course in dreamweaver

    Hi there,
I'm keen to take my knowledge of Adobe products further by
teaching Photoshop and dreamweaver at a proffesional level.
There are some details on the Adobe site here
    http://www.adobe.com/support/certification/aci.html
It seems i need a teaching certificate such as CompTia CTT+
Is this also valid in the uk?
I don't seem to be able to find any reference to it or
    training locations.
If not, what would be the equiavalent qualification i would
    need in the Uk?
What would be ideal would be a complete train a trainer
schedule on using dreamweaver so it was all in one package, exams,
training module, how to take students though the course etc...
instead of this disparate method it currently is.
    As usual any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Not sure but try

  • FTP sync problems with Dreamweaver MX on Prostores website

I ftp/sync, design and maintain my website Carnelian.com with Dreamweaver MX. My website is hosted by Prostore.com (an Ebay company). They have just recently migrated to new servers and are now requiring FTPES security which apparently is not supported via Dreamw
eaver Mx (which uses SFTP). Because of this I can no longer FTP or syncronize my website, upload files, images etc. Is there some
work around so that I can meet their secure ftp requirements and still use Dreamweaver to ftp/sync my website? I can get a third party FTPES client and upload my site changes, images etc but then my website will no longer be syncronized in Dreamweaver MX which would be a great inconvenience and problem for me.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    ================================================================================
Here is info on the Prostores migration from their support pages and support personel:
    2009-07-26 01:10:46 - ProStores Customer Support
ProStores has decided to abandon FTP as an access method to the platform in order to remain compliant with certification authorities
like PA-DSS and PCI. Dreamweaver does not support FTP TLS/ES or FTPS. Based on the research performed, it appears that Adobe is not
working on providing this functionality anytime soon. The following options are taken from ProStores Knowledge Base:
There are many FTP programs available. There are evaluation, free, shareware and paid versions of different FTP programs. ProStores
only supports FTP programs that support FTPS with SSL/TLS encryption. Below is a list of widely used secure FTP programs (in no spec
ific order) that are compatible with ProStores FTP services.
    · FileZilla (free)
    · FireFTP (Firefox add-on) (free)
    · WISE-FTP 6 ($)
    · CuteFTP ($)
    · And many others
If you upload images using the FTP process, there are new security settings and requirements. FTP protocol changed to FTPS (FTP over
SSL), also known as FTP/ES (Enhanced Security). Access to the new FTP/ES server will be through the URL myftp.prostores.com.
Update your FTP settings as noted below. In some cases, you may need to use a different FTP client to support the additional securit
y settings required on the new platform.
    hostname = myftp.prostores.com
Server type = FTPES or FTPS
    port = 21
Logon type = normal (not anonymous)
username / password = primary ProStores login credentials
    Connection type = FTPS
SSL Settings = Use SSL-encrypted connection with Auth TLS (or TLS 1)
FTP client requirements = must support SSL-encrypted/TLS connection (Auth TLS or TLS 1)
Several free and paid FTP clients that support SSL encrypted connections include:
    FileZilla (free)
    FireFTP (Firefox add-on) (free)
    WISE-FTP 6 ($)
    CuteFTP ($)
    And many others"
    Operating System: Windows XP Professional
    Browser: Firefox

I'm going to give Adobe and Google the benefit of the doubt on this one, and assume it is eBay being ridiculous. My anecdotal experience with Adobe and Google is that they do pay attention to technology trends and usually incorporate industry standard technology into their software. If it were just Dreamweaver that didn't support SSL/TTS I might have a different attitude, however blogger.com doesn't support publishing via SSL/TTS either, so I think the error if there is one, is on the Prostores side of things, and I'm guessing it would have made sense for them to support SFTP.
At the same time I assume the Adobe eco-system is more likely to render a solution here than the Prostores eco-system. Is there some sort of plugin/additional piece of software that lets Dreamweaver masquerade a SSL/TTS connection?

  • Adobe Bridge Buttons in Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks?

    Hello,
Adobe says that the button to connect to Adobe bridge is in
every CS3 application. I can find it in Photoshop, Illustrator, and
even Contribute, a former Macromedia project, but none of the other
Macromedia projects (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks) have one. Am I
missing it, or is this a glitch?
    Thanks,
    Dylan

Go to Edit > Prefs > Enable Version Cue. Once you do
that look in the lower left corner of the flash
application - you should see "Open" with an arrow. Clicking
on it will popup "Reveal in Bridge" button.
