Dreamweaver 8 editting

Hi all. I am having this problem that I would require some
input from everyone.
I have dreamweaver 8 on my computer, as a test, I went to
www.businessweek.com and tried to put the source under code of
dreamweaver 8 to see the site, however, it only shows as a full
page without columns and the proper layout. I tried it on my
friend's computer, same program, dreamweaver 8, and it works well
showing all the layers etc all in place for the same website.
I would like to know whats the problem with my dreamweaver 8
that I cant view the correct format with layers, layout etc.
thanks in advance.

You probably didn't get the CSS that goes with the page.

  • Dreamweaver edit with Fireworks

I have a website designed using Dreamweaver and Fireworks.  I have upgraded to CS3 and now trying to make changes to Dreamweaver file using Fireworks original png file that created the html, is seemingly impossible.  I have set the default editor to Fireworks and deleted all other editors showing.... cleared all temp files and restarted machine didn't help with this problem.  I keep seeing a "pencil" icon for the editor in Dreamweaver and it wants to go to a program called "PhotoPad" that I didn't even know I had.  I even changed the exe program name for photo pad and all I get now is an error that it can't find the program.  I still only have Fireworks set as the default for the png file that created it.  It seems it wants to change a .jpg slice and I want to go out to fireworks as I always did in the past, edit the png file, click "done" and have it update the html file.  Why isn't this possible anymore? and what happened to change it?  Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your reply...  I guess I thought I made myself so clear but somehow did not.  I just got so used to going in Dreamweaver, clicking on a slice and pressing the Fireworks button that when I saw a pencil icon instead... I guess I just "over-thought" the problem.
I did not knowingly bring in PhotoPad, so I am not sure how it got into my system but I am getting rid of it.  Here is what had happened.  I have worked long enough on files that I do know you can't edit an .html file in Fireworks and that was what was so frustrating because I could not get to the png file even though it was the default editor.  My mistake was that I had set the .png file to edit in Fireworks but forgot that the "slices" are .jpg and .gif.  So....  when I went back to Dreamweaver and set the editor for those file types to Fireworks... it worked.  I opened Fireworks... and then I could choose the .png file that created all those blasted slices, make my changes, and click the "done" button which took me back to Dreamweaver and updated my changes.
    Thanks again!

  • Dreamweaver Editable Rejoins / Template

I have created a Template and attempted to add some editable
rejoins to those area's that require editing . however , when I do
this it just creates a little box with Editable rejoin and a small
area , i can no longer use DW as I did with a regular HTML page ,
i.e I cannot Insert tables or layers , where am I going
    wrong.?.

And DO NOT insert a layer into a table cell.
If you are going to use layers (you might consider not using
    them until you
understand them better), please read this -

  • Dreamweaver editable regions isn't accessible.

I'm currently creating a webpage in Dreamweaver CS4, and have run into trouble while attempting to create editable regions in the template I created. When I select the regions i want to be editable, click on insert and template options, the option for editable regions isn't avalible, it's grayed out. Can anyone tell me why this is and how i can repair it?

The only explanation I can think of is that your code contains errors or you're attempting to put a Template Editable Region inside another Template Editable Region which isn't allowed.

  • Frontpage 2003 Dreamweaver Editing banner text

I imported a Frontpage 2003 website into Dreamweaver. I've created a new page by copying an existing page. Everything is correct except the banner shows the page name of the original page I copied. How do I edit this text to make it correct? Should I have created the page in a different way? If so how do you make the new page have the same navigation look as the other pages on the site?

I am sure the problem is an activation one. They can help. Don't talk to sales - this is not a sales situation.
    Agreed.
Use Live Chat and ask customer care rep to de-activate CS5 from your old computer so you can install it on your new one.  Simple, simple.

  • Div display in and out of dreamweaver

As an experiment, I am painstakingly hand coding a template
using css to create boxes with rounded edges. I have what looks
like an L shaped box on its side on the left top corner with a
small box directly to its right. Nestled in the "Gap" of this "L"
    is my main content div.
    See here:
    http://www.centralheatingandcoolingnow.com/test2.html
My question is this: It displays properly in IE and FF, but
not in my Dreamweaver edit window. This is the second time I have
run across problems with the DW display not doing what I want it to
do. If it looks right in DW, it is all wrong when it hits the
browser. In this case, the main content box is moved up 130px from
its original position. In DW, it is covering my header boxes
completely. If I don't move it up, it looks right in DW, but not in
the browser (it's off by that 130px).
I would like to create this template in DW so I can easily
edit multiple pages with the template. I suppose I can do it
because the content box is on top of the header (which won't need
to be changed anyway). Is there something I can do to get this to
look right in DW, or is this a quirk I need to get used to?

It seems each release gets better and better at displaying
    CSS layouts,
for CS3 has been fine, and I hear that CS4 is better.
The first thing I notice is that you have this at the top of
    the page:
    <%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="65001"%>
Thats ASP code, your page is HTML, get rid of that, I doubt
    it will help
your problem, but it will let your page validate.
Your CSS has an error too, line 129 says:
    background-color: ffff90
    it should be
    background-color: #ffff90
Again not a serious problem, but worth correcting.

  • Web: Dreamweaver/Flash hangup

I touch up my LR-generated web sites in Dreamweaver.
With 1.1, Flash sites no longer open in Design (layout) mode. Pages display the same error message a non-Flash web browser would display.
Should I delete that error-generating code from the sites, or do I tweak Dreamweaver somehow?

  • Blogging with Dreamweaver.

Okay. I see some people have asked this question before, but everyone who answers seems to give the least helpful answers I've ever seen in any situation in my entire life. So I'm going to be really specific about the question here and really, really hope for something other than redirecting to another site or the recommendation not to use adobe products.
I own Dreamweaver CS6. I have built a website. I would like one page of that website to have a blog.
Everything I read seems to say something about PHP. I don't know PHP. (I am capable of learning new things though, so if I have to I will... but I'd like to know more about the endgame before I put in even more time on this.) I also keep seeing a lot about using blog services such as Wordpress or Blogger.
I'm a newbie. I have built the website, and with the exception of the blog and comments section, it essentially works. But I have only uploaded it to a school site. I have not yet tried to uploading to the site that will ultimately have my domain name.
Perhaps this is a question that will be answered when I try to upload to different site, but - I'm not entirely sure why I couldn't simply update my site whenever I want to post a new blog. I mean - why can't I just open Dreamweaver, edit my blog page, and upload? Obviously, the comments section would still be an issue - but, in terms of just blogging, why wouldn't I just update my page every day? Is that a problem? Are there costs associated with that? What's the deal?
Okay - now assuming there's an answer to that, rather than direct me to another website, could someone explain just how putting a blog into Dreamweaver works? If I actually go through the process of installing even more stuff onto my little computer, from there is it what? A matter of cutting and pasting PHP code into the Dreamweaver site? Do I link them somehow? Is this something the server would have to take care of?
Honestly, I don't mind not having a comments section if that's the hard part. I mean, if uploading an edited page every day is viable, I could also just have people email comments and I could stick 'em in there exactly how I want, right? So seriously, I'd love to know why blogging seems so complicated. And once I know that, I'd like to know the simplest way to incorporate blogging into my site. -I don't want to be redirected to Wordpress - I don't find their information particularly enlightening. It's just more verbage along the lines of, "Download this and all your problems will be solved!" I'd rather know exactly what's going on before I do that.
Also, if your answer is to not use Dreamweaver - please don't reply. I mean, duh - we're on the adobe site, I have a question about an adobe product, obviously I already spent money on the darn thing - please, if you're kind enough to reply, please also be kind enough to keep that in mind.
    Thanks!
    M

To create a basic blog you'll need to write your blog pages in something like PHP. I prefer php. To see what you are doing you'll need to install WAMP or MAMP (for mac). Search for those downloads and read up. It's easy to set up a local host to use in building your database.
You should first set up a basic log-in system so that you must log-in to post or log-in to write comments. There are lots of tutorials on how to do this. You just set up a mySql database and set up a users table. Give it the following columns. id, date, userName, password, access, and approval.
Dreamweaver CC and CS6 (and earlier versions) have tools to automatically set up log-in, restrict access and log-out pages. These are quite easy to setup and there are a bunch of tutorials on how to do this.
Now that you have your log-in system working locally you'll have to set up a database on your web server. Apache servers are easier than windows servers and they are the most common. Log-in to your DNS provider and set up a new database, use PHP my admin to move your users table from your system to your DNS provider.
Now it's time to set up a simple data entry form for creating posts. You'll need a table. Call it posts or something like that. Set up the following fields. id, date, userID, postData, and approval.
Use Dreamweaver tools to now setup a form to insert data into these fields. There's your data entry part.
Now set up a record set that looks at the posts table and retrieves the date, userID, and postData and set up a repeating region on your page to echo the data, the user info and the post.
That's all there is to it. You can find tutorials on all of those steps and CS6 and earlier have wizards that will build all the forms for you. It's easy. I do it every day. It's much lighter weight than something like WordPress or the other CMS systems out there, but if you build it from scratch you'll need to add all the features you may want to add in the future by hand.

  • Dreamweaver has added thousands of blank lines to my code

I installed creative cloud and dreamweaver - I edited a few PHP  / HTML  / javascript  files on my server - now dreamweaver had added thousands of blank lines to my code. It will take days to clean them out and I can't seem to find a "find and replace" or "regular expression" to remove these... first of all... THANKS SO MUCH FOR GIVING ME THIS HEADACHE... and now.... HOW THE FRIG DO I GET RID OF THESE???
It is dreamweaver that did it...
I just tested and proved it.
Took a well formatted html doc....
Edited it (remotely) with two different software -
Then connected Dreamweaver Edited it again... and WHAMO!
11,0000 lines of new blank lines.
Dreamweaver is for sure confusing something as a new line.
Undoubted there is a reason for this... but it is for sure Dreamweaver the culprit for actuating it.
The files are of course downloaded as temp files - edited - and then uploaded at save....
So my tests are true and consistent.
Three different editing software all performing the exact same steps.
Yet - Dreamweaver adds thousands of blank lines.
It looks to me as though it is adding the line where there was a return. Somehow interpreting it as 2 line returns.
Whatever is happening - is happening inside dreamweaver, while using its "files connect to remote server" function.
These are live websites with custom PHP, PHP frameworks, MySQL calls, Javascript and...
I have been using the "Switch Design View To Live View" to test the PHP changes I make right in DreamWeaver.in Dreamweaver, how to prevent it, or how to get rid of the 10's of thousands of returns once they have been added.
If anyone has any actual answers as to why this is happening …. Please let me know.
I am not interested in assumptions from the many here who tend to waste a lot of space and time convoluting these forms.
This is a real problem and has already been proven to be actuated by Dreamweaver... So please... Only answers that may help sort out why or how this is happening within Dreamweaver.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Ken

Ken, I just posted a potential solution.
    Here is my post:
For people having issues with DW (or any other ftp app) adding extra blank lines: changing the ftp mode to BINARY probably solves this behaviour. It happened once to me when using Filezilla ftp.
Dreamweaver automatically uses ASCII to transfer readable text based files (like html and php). To change this transfer mode to BINARY, open FTPExtensionMap.txt (WIndows in AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration) and edit that file in a text editor.
    Then change the appropriate mappings.
Hope that helps fix the problem. It's a known problem in certain cases, though I haven't experienced it a lot (just once a few years ago in Filezilla, actually). It has to do with how a Windows system and certain Linux systems might interpret CR LF and LF line endings.

  • Adding footnotes in Dreamweaver 2004

Please could someone help a Silver Surfer - I wish to include numbers in a text document i.e. (1)- (2) and link them to an explanatory footnote/s at the bottom of the finished document. By this I mean clicking (1) in the text links to Footnote (1) at the bottom of the page. I am up to speed with ordinary hyperlinks but am unable to fathom how to do this. I would be grateful for any help.

    BL ::
    I must be terribly dim-witted.
No, just learning something new! ;)
    BL ::
Have read and re-read how to use Named Anchors I am just unable to get a connection. I have a document containing footnotes i.e.(1)in the document test which when clicked will bring up the footnote 1.School Farm - (2) in the text which will bring up footnote 2.Rectory Farm and so on.
I know; those instructions are sometimes very dense to read; bad instructional designers. Ok; When you create named anchors, these are special types of links that connect to locations inside your own document. These are not external links such as
    a href (web link) and
mailto: (email link). Named anchors are actually
labels, and have the HTML denotation
    "«a name="your_anchor_label"»«/a»".
Use your Code View to see the HTML.     If I read you correctly, you seem to be putting a literal hash (#) character in your little naming box. Don't do that. Maybe that is one thing that got confused when you read the help section. Hash marks are (in HTML
    coding
) ONLY for the reference TO the named anchor, which is "the link", but actually the link
target. The Named Anchor is merely the target location
in the HTML code itself that "marks" the reference endpoint, i.e., the footnote/endnote target. That's what happens when you choose Insert>Named Anchor. You name the anchor, not the originating activating hyperlink. Better?
To connect the dots you have to keep track of two locations:
    1. your referencing link
    pointer, i.e.    School Farm
    1,
    and
    2. its anchor
ed linkage location, i.e. the footnote itself, or
    1. Rectory Farm [& etc].
Click at the beginning of the paragraph of your
footnote and choose Insert>Named Anchor from the Insert menu. You must then type in a name that has
no spaces. None. You could just as well name it rectoryfarm_note or RectoryFarm if you so wished. Just keep track of the upper/lowercase spellings.
No.2 above is the named anchor, the "marker label" in your document where the footnote actually is.     No.1 above
calls forth the named anchor; these have to be connected in the HTML code. To do that, the easy way is to
select your anchor reference [your superscript numeral, usually] and type in #YourAnchorName into the link field in the Properties panel/inspector.
In the Properties Inspector link field, you must use and/or see the # (hash) symbol in front of the
exact spelling (upper/lower case sensitive) you have given your named anchor. In this case, it would be #RectoryFarm or whatever.
The # ONLY goes on the in-text footnote marker
link in the Properties Inspector link field, not in the naming of the Named Anchor.
Test it in your web browser; the link will (should) jump to your footnote. (To jump
back, you have to also add a reverse of the process, and make up a named anchor connection to your in-text footnote location, too. Ugh. Gets more complicated,....    :) )
Here is a bit of example code to illustrate.
    =========
    ... that denote neobaroque art.<*sup><*b>
    ><*a href="#note_003">3<*/a><*/b><*/sup>
    «--- the superscripted numeral
    <*b><*
    a name="note_003"><*/a>18 <*/b> Jacqueline Barnitz,
<*i>Twentieth-century art of Latin America<*/i>, 1st ed. (Austin: University of Texas Press, 2001), p.202 <*/b>
this is the footnote with the Named Anchor! (a name="note_003"; leave in the quote marks)
    ==========
NOTE: Where ever you see an asterisk, I have had to insert that to force Adobe to show you code. Leave out the asterisk! (Also, named anchors are 'hidden' from view in the Dreamweaver editing window; you need to turn on 'Show Invisible Elements' in the View>Visual Aids menu. Then you will be shown a cute little yellow anchor symbol/signal where your named anchors are located within your text. It will not show the referencing link, though. That shows up as blue and underlined.)
Hope this is a bit clearer.

  • Dreamweaver 5.5 site settings

Hi, Till some time ago I've used fire ftp for managing files online. They are nicely opening in DW with a number in front of the files name. Then I decided to configure "site's" in DW built in manager. I've configured a remote server it's not working like I hoped.
1.When I open a file form remote server, it's not editable "on line". To do it I have to save that file and then PUT it on the server which is not very productive. Any way to overcome this?
2.How to switch of the prompt "do you want to override local files" and make "yes to all" permanent.
3.Do files edited on-line have any sort of indication that they are "on-line" and not local?
4.Is there any way to export Dreamweaver settings, mostly "sites" settings?

I don't know if it help's but I am using win7 64bit, DW 5.5 newest FF (but it worked also with older versions).
You could try "open with" (from the context menu)-> add program ->insert DW path -> connect to your server -> open with ->select dreamweaver ->edit.
I don't think it has something to do with the server (I am using linux, by the way).
I found this on FireFtp site, hope it helps:
For your local files, sometimes you want to be able to open a file with a different program than the default one. Let's say I have an image file - sometimes I just want to look at it and that defaults to Firefox (what else?!) but sometimes I want to edit it and for that I need Photoshop.
So, I right click on my image file, go to Open With->Add Programs... The associated extension with the file (in this example, ".jpg") will already by listed on the top-left pane. I give my program a name in the Name textbox, in this case, Photoshop. I click "Browse" and find the Photoshop executable file (on Windows, this is usually under the "Program Files" folder somewhere). And optionally I can add Arguments, but for most users and most cases it's enough to leave that box alone. Then I hit "Apply". I'll then see in the top-right pane that my program is now associated with that extension. In a similar manner, if I want a program to be associated with all extensions and all files I can select "*.*" (which will always be there) and add programs to its list.
Now, when I right click the file again and look under "Open With", I will have Photoshop as one of the options - I can select that and the file will open up with Photoshop.
For remote files, selecting Open With will download the file and put you into Remote Edit mode. From here you can work on your file, save it, and FireFTP will automatically upload your file when it detects you've modified the file.
For Mac users: When you create a program entry for Safari, for example, you would think the path to the Application is probably: /Applications/Safari.app
and logically so, because when you browse the directory you aren't allowed to go into the Application's hidden contents. However, this is not the correct path. Right-click on an Application and do "Show Package Contents". The correct path to the Safari application is actually: /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari
Not very intuitive, I realize, for you Mac users out there. Maybe in a future version there will be an easier way to access these hidden Application contents.

  • Dreamweaver X flash Menu Labs

Im trying to create a flash banner using "Flash Menu Labs
Professional Edition Version 2.05" software and every time that I
try to open this banner in Dreamweaver MX 6, I receive the
following message - "You need to upgrade your Flash Player or to
allow javascript to enable Website menu."
I tried to follow the Dreamweaver message orientation and
downloaded the last version of "Flash Player" (Version 10.0.12.36)
but nothing happened, I still receive the same message every time I
open the flash banner, in such way that I can´t edit it in
    Dreamweaver...
I would appreciatte any help, any orientation, that could
allow me to work with Dreamweaver editing the flash banner...
    Thanks in advance!!

If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    Especially
consider those people who are browsing from a corporate
    internet where Flash
is not allowed by the IT staff.
    2. Search engines may not parse Flash links - your site may
    not be spidered
unless you have redundant HTML links
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what
    will those users
    do?
    4. DW cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do?
    You will have
    to remake those buttons.
It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons - and for
    these reasons,
Adobe has removed Flash buttons and Flash text from the next
    version of
    Dreamweaver.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 deleting files instead of putting them

I am currently using Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 with 64 bit Windows 7 Professional.
The issues started when I attempted to get most of the files on my site in order to save them as local versions.  Individual files could be retrieved just fine, but if I tried to get more than one file at a time the transfer process would stop about half way through and just sit there doing nothing.  No errors were thrown, the progress window didn't shut down, it just wouldn't continue transferring the files (not making any progress at all after about 20 minutes).  When  I cancelled the process, files that Dreamweaver claimed were finished were completely empty in the local version.  After a few attempts I went ahead and used FileZilla to copy all the files to my local machine.
Now I'm having the issue that when I attempt to edit a php file, save it, then put it on the server Dreamweaver claims the transfer was successful, but instead of being put on the testing server the file has been removed from it completely.  At the end of the supposedly successfull transfer dreamweaver indicates that is no longer connected to the ftp.  The really weird thing is that if I restart dreamweaver and haven't edited a file since starting it, the file transfer works fine.  The put works fine weather dreamweaver has deleted the file off the testing server or not, as long as I haven't edited and saved a file since starting dreamweaver.  The put also works fine if I open dreamweaver, edit and save the php file, restart dreamweaver and then try the put, as long as I haven't edited and saved a file since the last time I started Dreamweaver.
I am using Dreamweaver to manage three sites at the moment, and the other two work fine as far as I can tell, just this one site is giving me these strange ftp issues.  Any idea how I can resolve this?

I don't think anyone has an answer for you.  There have been several other posts similar to this in the last few weeks.
The more you can tell us about your system specs and the computing/FTP environment, the better your chances of getting some substantive responses....
    Sorry.

  • Dreamweaver had added thousands of blank lines to my code

I installed creative cloud and dreamweaver - I edited a few php / html / javascript  files on my server - now dreamweaver had added thousands of blank lines to my code. It will take days to clean them out and I can't seem to find a "find and replace" or "regular expression" to remove these... first of all... THANKS SO MUCH FOR GIVING ME THIS HEADACHE... and now.... HOW THE FRIG DO I GET RID OF THESE???

LOL... HAHA Yes... and magic pixie dust and tooth fairies...
    Hog Wash!
As for people like Ben Pleysier and Nancy O. ...
It is really dangerous to give advice about things that you do not know to be true.
You really should not offer speculation as truth... that is harmful to people... not helpful.
It would be one thing to say "could be anything" but to defend dremweaver as "NOT the cause" and sight magic pixie dust and mysticism of editing "remotely" (Remotely... oh?! heaven help us : 0 )
is just completely ridiculous. You are only proving here how little you know and how little you are willing to accept.
I have found other people complaining about the same thing... Dreamweaver adding thousands... and in some cases 10's of thousands of blank lines.
It is not magic pixie dust people... It is Dreamweaver that is doing this under specific conditions.
It is Dreamweaver that did it...
You guys want to gather around Hogwarts and talk about the mystical reasons this must have happened. Go ahead.. say hi to Harry and Hermione for me : )
Just more proof how inept and ridiculousness a place like this is.
How is this helpful to me as a customer?
When what I need is a solution to the problem... a way to fix it or to save myself hours pof headache and lost time....
Nope... instead I get the witches of Adobe conjuring up their mysticism...
Really.... Really... If you cant nbe helpful... why just waste more time and precious data space on the internet with your rhetoric...
Anyone have any >>>>>>>real<<<<<<< answers that are not delusional???

  • Dreamweaver MX2004 changes  or corrupts tpl file

I am editing .tpl files for the phpBB forum software in
    Dreamweaver.
If I open a fresh (working) copy of one file in particular:
    templates/subSilver/posting_body.tpl
... and then save it and upload it, several features on the
forum no longer work. In particular, I've noticed that the
checkboxes are no longer checked for attaching a signature and for
    notifying of replies.
I've not made any changes in the file. But opening and saving
it in Dreamweaver has clearly done something. (Or maybe FTPing it
    in Dreamweaver.)
I've set Dreamweaver (Edit > Preferences > Code
Rewriting) so that .tpl files aren't changed and even turned off
all of the options. This problem still appears.
Any ideas about what's going on and how to fix it?

    Thanks for the help Rb.
Following your lead, I thought for a moment that it could be
the "line break type" setting on Preferences > Code Format.
But that didn't fix it, probably because if I'm doing an
ascii FTP upload it appears that this setting doesn't matter.
    From the DW Help files:
Line Break Type specifies the type of remote server (Windows,
Macintosh, or UNIX) that hosts your remote site. Choosing the
correct type of line break characters ensures that your HTML source
code appears correctly when viewed on the remote server. This
setting is also useful when you are working with an external text
editor that recognizes only certain kinds of line breaks. For
example, use CR LF (Windows) if Notepad is your external editor,
and use CR (Macintosh) if SimpleText is your external editor.
Note: For servers that you connect to using FTP, this option
applies only to binary transfer mode; the ASCII transfer mode in
Dreamweaver ignores this option. If you download files using ASCII
mode, Dreamweaver sets line breaks based on the operating system of
your computer; if you upload files using ASCII mode, the line
breaks are all set to CR LF.

  • Problem with iWeb SEO breaking iWeb blogs (Blog Summary Widget error).

As as happened to many others, my blog was broken. The only thing that showed up when publishing was "Blog Summary Widget", no actual blog.
I came on here and searched, uninstalled with apzapper, deleted preferences before that, tried everything.
    Still the problem.
Then I notice my blog works. I'm excited. I move on in my post iweb part of the process (iWeb SEO and dreamweaver edits) to then see it's broken again.
After some testing (changing 1 file at a time, one step at a time) I found that when iWeb SEO touched the home.html (where my blog is) it broke it.
This is a new phenomenon as I was doing this all the time before with no problem.
I even tried updating to the latest version of iWeb SEO and the same problem.
So if you're having this problem, and are using iWeb SEO, try it without and see if you still have the same problem.

I'm getting the same problem too. I've just updated my iWeb from 1 to 2. I've had to more or less re-create my Blog from scratch as the upgrade wrecked the summary and recent items pages (probably because I'd use jTemplate).
So I created a new Site, dragged the old blog over to it and created a brand new one in my proper site. I then copied all my formatting over AND all the entries. All looks fine in iWeb, but I see the same error messages as described here. Take a look here : http://www.andrewmay.biz/test/
Obviously I've moved a lot of stuff around from the normal White template, and deleted a few things too, but I would have hoped that iWeb wouldn't let me trash things that then broke it.
