Dreamweaver 8 is not working on Tiger.

To Whom It May Concern at Apple,
I have an problem with my Macromedia Dreamwaver 8.1. I use an older version of your application on my older Mac Pro hard drive to design my Eighteen Years a List Of Client logos from my New York residency. After my Divorce I have moved to Tennessee as a direct result for this purpose.
My problem is your application unexpectedly quits after I try to open my Dreamweaver file that I have been finessing. I have not upgraded to your current version because I am thinking purchasing the Mac Pro OS X desktop.
It is larger file size site with my Eighteen Of Professional Service Client logos from New York.
I have tried to empty the cache. I found this was to no avail.
My serial number is Dreamweaver DWD800
Is there anything that can be done to overcome this issue? Please advise me

Macromedia is now owned by Adobe.
You might have better chance for an answer to your question on Dreamweaver at Adobe then here at Apple.

Dreamweaver CS4 not working under MacOS 10.9

on starting DW CS4 it asks for Java Runtime engine 6, but Mavericks has Java v.7 installed. Since Java 6 was part of the OS of previous systems, I cannot install it seperately, besides it would probably cause conflicts with OS 10.9. Do I have to trash my DW, or is there a workaround.

IChat not working with Tiger user

I recently received a new Macbook with Leopard already installed on it. I have 2 friends who also own Macbooks, who I iChat with.
One of my friends received her Macbook when Leopard just came out, so she had Tiger on it previously . The other friend has had her Macbook longer, and does not have Leopard, just Tiger.
When attempting to start an iChat with the friend with Tiger, it would not work. The weird thing about it though is that it has worked a few times before, if we kept trying and I found if I restarted my computer.
However, now the friend that previously had Tiger had problems with her Macbook and received a brand new one with Leopard already on it. Now it does not work for her to start an iChat with the Tiger user, although she had no problems with her old computer.
Sorry it's confusing!
But in conclusion, it seems that iChat is not working between a Leopard and Tiger user. The confusing part is that we have gotten it to work before...so I'm really not sure what the problem is.
What can we try to get this to work all the time, without her having to upgrade to Leopard?
I usually get an error response saying there was no data received for the last 10 seconds, and she gets different things about Bandwidth, and saying she cancelled the invitation when she didn't.

Personally, I think it's Leopard that is at fault here. I had Tiger and my family and I would video iChat all the time. But then we downloaded Leopard. We discovered we could no longer video iChat.
My son used 4 different computers (all Macs of course), trying same network and different networks. What he discovered is that the ONLY way video iChat now works is if computers are on the same network. Well, how absurd, because the idea is to be able to video iChat with anyone, not just family members in the same household on the same network.
Apparently, somewhere, Apple (Leopard) bragged about their new improved iChat video on a network. Well, I think they forgot that not all of us are sitting in an office wanting to spend the time to iChat video with co-workers, but have friends and family in other areas we'd like to video iChat with.
So through a process of elimination, it all led back to Leopard as being the culprit, because Tiger to Tiger worked perfectly, and even Leopard to Tiger works IF you are on the same network.
I really do hope Apple supplies a FIX for this problem. I, for one, am VERY disappointed in the fact that I now have Leopard and can no longer video iChat with friends across the country.

Dreamweaver rollovers not working in Safari

Hi,
I have been using Dreamweaver's image rollover effects for
years now with no issues. Well, until now. I'm working on a fairly
simple site for a filmmaker. It only includes 3 small rollover
effects.
I've tested the site on my PC using IE, Firefox, and Safari
3.0.4, and it looks fine. The rollovers do not work for the client
in Safari though. She is using Safari version 2.0.4. Her system is
Mac OS X, version 10.4.8, 1.33 GHz powerPC G4.
I'm stumped. I'm using Dreamweaver CS3. Here's a link to one

Select end (Shift+End) in Dreamweaver (MAC) not working anymore

Hi all,
all of a sudden it seems that my DreamWeaver shortcut Shift+End is not working anymore to select text till the end of the line. Shift+Home is still working. I'm pretty sure I've been using it till the day before yesterday. I noticed the shortcut not working on my macbook yesterday, but since that was a clean install I thought that might have been the issue. But today I noticed the same on my working station which has been installed for a couple of days now.
Is anyone else facing this problem? I tried re-adding the shortcut, but that doesn't work at all..

Fireworks Nav menus to Dreamweaver (CS3) not working

Hi!
Having used Dreamweaver and Fireworks V8 for a while (2
years) i upgraded to CS3 versions, and then went to update a menu
from

(edit popup menu) within Fireworks which went fine and exported the
HTML and then went in to DW to import the HTML (like i have done a
thousand times before), the menu looks great when to check and it
in either Firefox, Safari (OSX) and IE6 and 7(WIn) the pop up menus
do not work at all!?!
Any suggestions?

I have experienced the similar problem when building entire
pages from fireworks CS3 (with dd menu) and exporting into
dreamweaver.
Someone recommended using spry widgets in dreamweaver
instead- might be worth looking into?

Dreamweaver does not work in spaces

I have Dreamweaver set to work in space 7, but when I open Dreamweaver, the application does not change to space 7.
All other apps work fine so why not Dreamweaver?

I'm having problems using Dreamweaver with spaces. If I'm doing artwork in Photoshop, or looking up info in Mail, and switching backwards and forwards between Dreamweaver and another application, I find that when I go back to Dreamweaver the main window isn't showing (whether that be the document I'm working on or the files window). In fact, if it's the files window, I typically have to go to the Window menu and select Files (which then unchecks the files menu item) and then reselect Files to get it to appear. Very annoying and time consuming. Of course F8 doesn't work because that now activates spaces and conflicts with F8's function within Dreamweaver.

Shortcuts does not work in Tiger

I bought a MacBook Pro 2.4 two days ago. Now I am getting really angry after reinstalling and trobuleshooting for two days. Some shortcuts does not work, like "New folder", "Quit", "Empty Trash"...
But some shortcuts work like, "Spotlight", "Hide other app.", "Send to trash".
I have done everything to find out the problem, all troubleshooting.
1. Create new Admin
2. Empty caches
3. Disk Permissions
4. FSCK
5. Safe mode
6. Apple Hardware Test
The Hardware Test gave me a error code: 4 SNS/1/40000000:TGOD
The Apple support could not help me when I called them. I am really tired of this.

I live 450 km from an Apple Store, so that is not the solution.
The thing is that when you buy a new Apple computer, you dont't want to spend time troubleshooting the first thing you do before even installing your software.

Some Flash video/audio sites not working, Mac - Tiger

Hey there
I'm having an issue where certain flash sites don't work
properly on my mac, they just sit there loading and never actually
do anything.
The vast majority of sites work just fine, youtube, google
video, gamevideos.com, the escapist, etc..
But some sites such as veoh.com simply will not play the
videos.
In addition to that, www.pandora.com will not work either,
but there I at least get an error message stating that "flash local
storage is not turned on". In this case I've tried to load the
flash manager and turn it on, but after changing it and going back
in, it seems that my changes were not saved and my local storage is
stuck at 10k max.
The exact same sites work fine on my friends PC using my
wireless connection.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall flash with no
success.
I've tried both firefox and safari, neither work, but the
flash stuff seems to be global on the machine, so I suspect it's
more of a problem with the flash than with a specific browser.
I've even tried to run firefox as root, install flash as
root, etc thinking that it was something to do with not having
permission to write to wherever flash was trying to store stuff.
I've got Firefox 2.0.0.14, OSX 10.4.11, and Flash 9.0.124.0
installed.
I suppose I'm most concerned about pandora.com, but I think
the video issues may be related to the "local storage" error I'm
getting aswell.
Any and all help greatly appreciated.

No, not yet, support finally got back to me, but suggested it
was site specific.... which it's not, since every other computer
but mine works fine on that site (goto pandora.com if you're in the
US, it works fine, just not for me)
I've tried the flash 10 beta, that didn't help either.
I did a verify and repair permissions with apple's disk
utility, it did correct the permissons on the flash plugin, adding
write access for the group, but that didn't fix the problem.
Also, the fact that when I use the flash manager on adobe's
site and it won't remember the settings makes me think it's
something to do with Flash not having access to write a local
config file. It doesn't even have anything in the list of visited
sites like it should...
I don't know where this config file is, i'm still waiting to
hear back form support again...
I'll post something when it's fixed...

User accounts not working in Tiger

User accounts in previous versions worked ok but since upgrading to Tiger new user accounts fail on login attempt with that REALLY ANNOYING wiggle. The password is certainly correct on many different attempts but the wiggle keeps happening without any sensible explanation. I need some help with this.

I'm sorry, I'm sure this is frustrating (this is to both mrstee and Renee Slade).
I've not had this problem, but when I do have "wonky" things going on, I use the DIsk Utility to repair the disc, then repair permissions.
I make a bootable backup on an external drive, and I boot from it to check on the internal drive. Without that, you would have to do all these things from the Install DVD. Then reset the passwords as directed above.
If this doesn't work, I'd talk with an Apple Genius at one of the Apple Stores, or give AppleCare a call. I can't think of anything else to do.
I have fixed some pretty weird things with the repair procedures.

2 GB SD Card not working with Tiger

I have a new 2 GB SD card. I used the card in my camera to take pictures without any problems. I can also put the card in my iPaq and view the photos there without any problem.
When I try to copy the images to my Mac using a Belkin 15-in-1 reader, however, it doesn't work. When I put the card in the reader, Tiger tells me the card is not readable and asks if I want to format it.
I went ahead and put the card back into my iPaq and copied the pictures to its internal memory, and then put it back into the card reader attached to the mac. This time when it asked if I wanted to format, with the images saved on the iPaq, I clicked Format. It just froze though.
I pulled the card out, opened Disk Utility and tried to format it using that software, but again it just hangs.
What's going on? Anyone got any advice?

I don't know about your problem with the SD chips and the card reader but I had a simular problem with CF cards and a card reader. I was using Lexar 512 MB CF cards and a Lexar card reader. When I upgraded to the newest 1 GB CF cards my card reader would no longer was able to read them. So I called Lexar. They told me to send in the old card reader and they replaced it with the new model for free. So it is possible that something changed with the newer SD cards so that the card reader is no longer able to read them. You might ask the vendor who made your card reader about this. My advantage I think was that everything was Lexar which made it easy.

Dreamweaver 8 not working with windows 7

Hi I have Dreamweaver 8 via Studio 8 disc installed on ne laptop -this was working fine initially - but now wont allow me to access image files from Pictures folder in My Documents. The old p.c. was running XP and the laptop is running Windows 7. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and changing priority values-none of which works. I have designed and continually update two websites using Dreamweaver and want to try to keep things as they were. Thanks very much for any help All other features on The Studio 8 Disc are working -i.e Flash MX and Fireworks etc.

Have tried this now and it still wont work-as I had said the whole suite was working initially but the laptop was not connected to the internet and was used as back up -since connecting to internet a very large number of windows security downloads turned up and it all went haywire.

Trying to add Google Analytics to Dreamweaver site, not working

I had Google Analytics set up on my dreamweaver site and all of a sudden it stopped reporting data. A co-worker who no longer works here was working on the page to fix some non-relevant errors and as a result Google Analytics stopped working. The strange thing is I had it pasted on every page of our site and nothing is reporting data. It is reporting a syntax error on line x...but I am unaware what and how to fix that. Help?

You're not giving us much to go on. Go to your Google WebMaster account & grab the GA tracking code. Re-insert it into some test pages. Analytics reporting may not show anything for several days.

Dreamweaver Accordian not working in IE6

I've added the Spry Accordian function to a page but it only
works correctly in Safari 2. On opening the page in both Firefox
and IE 6 only the first level displays, the second and third level
are invisible. Only after clicking in the general area where I know
they should be displayed do they appear. In Safari on the Mac the
function works perfectly. Can someone give me an idea what's
happening? Here is the link:

I have IE7 and those same items appears and change based upon
which one I click on. But I do see a small gap between one header
and the next. This may be due to some CSS rendering
issues/differences, but not sure.
FYI: You may get better/quicker responses for questions like
this one in the general Dreamweaver forum rather than this one that
is focused on Dreamweaver Extensions and is not highly trafficked.

Dreamweaver CS5 not working with CS4 templates?

I upgraded from CS4 to CS5 of Dreamweaver today and so I opened a template up in CS5 that I made for my site in CS4. So everytime that I make a new page from the CS4 template it will look good in the editing view and I can edit everything I'm supposed to like it should. But whenever I test the page in my browser or the Live View it won't use JavaScript or it won't show me AdBrite ads in the page and it messes up my CSS. I have no clue why its doing that because the new pages from this template in CS4 work fine but new pages in CS5 from the template wont show up correctly. Oh and every other page that I made in CS4 works very well in the CS5 but the new pages in CS5 just won't seem to preview well. Do you guys know of any solution for this or how I can solve this annoying problem?

One thing to note if you attempt JulesN's solution of moving the DIV tag inside the editable region... since this move is to a "non-template" area.. on many pages of your site it will simply mean the removal of the DIV tag outside the editable region. You will need to manually go into each page and add the DIV tag back into the editable region as Template updates do not modify the content of those regions.. I tried this today and had hundreds of pages instantly stop displaying correctly before I realized the logic behind it.. I was able to recover. However if you are using nested DIV tags as containers.. they are all either one big editable region or you need to wait till Adobe fixes this and use CS4 as I'm being forced to. I have submitted as a bug as well.
