That usually means that you are trying to update an
installation that is
already updated.

I'm attempting to update by my DreamweaverMX (v5.2.2) by
installing the Dreamweaver 6.1 update. No luck. When attempting to
install it, I get this message:
"This folder does not contain Dreamweaver MX."
This, dispite the fact that the file marked "Dreamweaver 6.1
update" is located in the application folder marked "Dreamweaver"
(with the green Dreamweaver icon).
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly
appreciated.There was no DW v5.2.2....
Find the DW executable in the Program Files folder, right
click, and do
PROPERTIES | Version. Please tell me what that version number
is.

That's an updater for the Japanese-language version of
Dreamweaver 4,
not a program that enables Japanese on the English version of
DW4. You
will need to uninstall Dreamweaver, and reinstall it.
Early versions of Dreamweaver do not support Japanese in the
English
version unless you run the program in a Japanese-language
operating
system. I can't remember which was the first version to
support Asian
languages in the English version, but Dreamweaver 4 is
definitely too old.

Dreamweaver Corrupted during update to 8.02
I just installed the Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 then the Studio
8 Suite. I downloaded the Dreamweaver 8.02 update file and tried
installing it. The installation hung up about half way through the
install leaving me no option but to reset or reboot my PC during
this stage. I Hate it when that happens. ;) Anyway... I can't even
load up Dreamweaver or even uninstall the program to do a fresh
install. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All of my other
Adobe software & Macromedia software seems to work fine. I have
a PC Clone running Windows XP Pro SP2 with 2 GB of RAM, plenty of
hard disk space, etc. Thanks!system restore

Dreamweaver MX 2004 update 7.0.1 is corrupt on your site (English version). How do I find a working file to download?
This means that your DMX2004 is already at the most current

Guys its Here: Dreamweaver Creative Cloud update Feb 2013
New Creative cloud patch is now available for DW.

Whats new:

Fluid Grids Updates:

Although video in post looks old, but description gives some new insights into the feature improvements.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq3YdpB6N9M
We've already had customer reports of errors. The Creative Cloud is,
first and foremost, an oxymoron of the nth degree. Secondly, it's a
cheap way to use real customers as beta testers. Adobe should be ashamed
of themselves.

Installed Dreamweaver MX 2004 update for Windows and now Dreamweaver won't open. Help?
I was having some glitches uploading to a host I ftp to often so I decided to check for a Dreamweaver update for MX 2004. When I found the Windows update and tried to install - it told me to uninstall Extensions. I uninstalled extensions and continued with the installation of the update. Now Dreamwever will not open at all - it says Dreamweaver MX 2004 has stopped working. I can see the update is installed since the version is 7.0.1. Any ideas on how to undo the update? I have no idea where this program disk is right now for reinstallation plus all my servers are already setup....
You might try Windows System Restore to a point before you installed the update.
Good luck.

Dreamweaver MX 2004 Update?
I've tried to update my Dreamweaver MX 2004 - but everytime I
start going through the install it says that Dreamweaver is not
found within the Macromedia/Dreamweaver folder and therefore can't
install. I've verified that the application is in that folder. Is
anyone else having this problem? I was told by our IT department
that he tried installing a fresh copy of Dreamweaver on his new
computer and then installing the udpate and he came across the same
problem.
Any news/ideas about this? This means that your DMX2004 is already at the most current
release level.

Dreamweaver templates not updating on second installation
I have just purchased the new Dreamweaver CS5.5. I installed it on my laptop first and it is working fine. However the package is not working correctly on my husband's laptop. He is finding that the templates are not updating the files despite going through the process. I am the 'techie' in our partnership and I did make sure both installations were identical.
Updates we are trying to make are outside of the editable regions.
It has taken me years to get him to accept an update for this programme, and now it doesn't work for him, he is not well pleased at me spending hundreds of pounds, when the Dreamweaver MX2004 worked well for him.
Please can someone point me in the right direction to put this right.
JeanWe are not working on the same templates. In our partnership, I build the templates and then turn them over to my husband to input the content. The particular problem we are incurring at the moment is on a fully functioning website. We noticed that on changeover from Dreamweaver MX2004 to CS5.5, the css file wasn't being read, the difference being:
from <link type="text/css" media="all" rel="stylesheet" href="/styles/style.css" />
to <link type="text/css" media="all" rel="stylesheet" href="../styles/style.css" />
don't really understand this, but having updated the template, the dialogue box came up asking if you want to update all files connected to template, said ok, and the finish dialogue box says 211 files updated. But when you open the file it hasn't actually updated at all.
Website looks ok online now as he has went back to MX2004 to upload a new page. -
Dreamweaver 8 - not updating links when moving files
I am still having problems getting Dreamweaver 8 to work the
same way as my Dreamweaver MX2004. When I use the file panel in
Dreamweaver 8 to change the name of a file it does not update my
links throughout out site. I have gone to EDIT > PREFERENCE and
made sure that update links when moving files and the Prompt box is
checked.
I have also tried Site > Advanced > Recreate Site Cache
but it's not working.
Can anyone please help. Thank you.Give me the code from a link that is not managed by DW,

Hello,
I have been tasked with updating the navigation on a site that is using a Dreamweaver template (DWT) as the base file. The navigation was originally built using jQuery navigation UI, however this did not address all of our needs and I have updated it with another version of an accordion.
The .dwt file only is only controlling the navigation and the head of the site.
I have integrated the new xhtml structure and added/removed javascript/jquery into the .dwt file. I saved the file, therefore updating all of the relevant .html files, and verified that the accordion works.
However - the accordion does not work for all of the xhtml files. Some files, seemingly at random, are not pulling in the javascript.
When opening the relevant .html files, I can verify that they have all been updated with the new xhtml and the correct javasctipt. However, when viewing the .html files that are not displaying correctly with FireBug, I can see that none of the jquery/javascript is being applied to the navigation (classes are missing that are injected into the xhtml, but the structure and css is correct).
I've done some research and the only issues I've been able to find are related to .xhtml files not being updated with the correct code, but in my case all of the affected files have the correct xhtml and scripts in the head.
Does anyone have any light to shed on this subject? I am quite puzzled. While I understand that looking at code is the ultimate way to find a solution, the intent of my question was not "how do i fix this" or "what is wrong with my code" but rather "does anyone have any idea as to why this would be happening". Or even, "where would you start to troubleshoot this".
I made my question general as such because I intended on trying to troubleshoot on my own in order to better understand the issue.
Thank you for stating the obvious, not all first time forum posters are completely unaware of how to ask questions properly. -
Dreamweaver template not updating Contribute pages
Currently I'm trialing Dreamweaver (MX) and Contribute
(3.11), to check
that it's a workable solution for my company, in terms of
editing and
auditing, but right now I'm having a problem.
I have some templates (.dwt files) that I create in
Dreamweaver, for
use with Contribute, i.e. I create the template, other people
create
the content for our site based on the those templates.
The issue is that when I make a change to the template, I
would expect
the pages created in Contribute to be refreshed to use the
new
template, but that doesn't appear to be happening. The only
way I can
get the page to be updated is to edit the page in Contribute,
go to the
Format menu and choose 'Template Properties', then hit OK
again to
close this dialog. I then see the page refresh with the new
template
changes.
Am I doing something wrong? I would expect, as I mentioned,
to have all
pages automatically updated when the template is saved, and
published.
Is there a setting I need to turn on, or a procedure of
publishing the
template that I need to adhere to?
any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for the reply Mark. While I think I've found most of
the things you mentioned since my first post, it is useful to get
confirmation of my finding, which appears to be consistent with
your post.
Here's what I've found, and later, why I'm not really liking
it:
If I edit the .dwt file in Dreamweaver and try to save it, I'm
prompted to only update those files I have locally that reference
the template.
I can only update those local files that are checked out,
though the saving process will check them out automatically
If I create a new page using Contribute, I must refresh the
templates first
My concerns are:
if I can only update those files I have locally, then do I need
to have the whole remote site stored locally too? My company site
is huge (as it's translated into 6 languages) and has multiple
contributors/editors. It sounds like I will have to download the
entire site before I edit a template, and put it back again
afterwards. Is that right?? it sounds rediculous, so I'm sure I've
got it wrong.
if I have the files locally, I must check them out before or
while saving the template. However, I then have to check them back
in manually. Again, with potentially 300 to 400 pages per template,
that's a lot of manual checking-in. If the saving process can
automatically check pages out, can it also automatically check them
in again??
Like you, Mark, I find it strange that Contribute requires a
manual refreshing of templates. I've searched all the options I can
find, but I don't see an auto-refresh templates setting, which
would be sooo useful. As it stands I will have to instruct each
editor/contributor to refresh before they create a new page, and
pray that they do.
any further advice from Contribute/Dreamweaver users would be
greatly appreciated. How do users with very large website handle
this? Are there any tricks or hints that you can pass on? -
Dreamweaver template to update file other than html?
Hi,
I am using Dreamweaver CS4 to manage my website.
The problem is i cannot get Dreamweaver to update my .tpl (php template)
Any idea?
ThanksThanks,
I finally figure it out how to get if fix.
May be i should say it clear, i use dreamweaver template which is a dwt file to update all html pages in my website.
But some of the file i use which is tpl extension (the same as html file but with template variables). The dreamweaver
did not recognize it. The page did not show up when i make changes in dwt file.
Then what i do is change the "configuration" > "DocumentTypes", so that dreamweaver recognize tpl as a type of html file.
After that i change extension.txt file also. Rebuild site cache. And now its done. -
Dreamweaver CS3 - Not Updating Files
I have this problem since upgrading from Dreamweaver MX2004
to CS3. I edit files on my local machine. I then tell Dreamweaver
to syncronize files and put newer to remove (which it does). But
when I check the remote nothing has been updated. Lately I have
been getting the message about files being newer on the remote when
they are not. I tried the fix of unchecking synchronization info
and then re-checking, but it still does not update anything. I
noticed that I modified a file at 11.01am, and uploaded it. It
didn't update but the remote file is showing as being modified same
date but 6.15pm.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? I have been using
Dreamweaver for about 6 years with no problems.
Many thanks
Alan.Give me the code from a link that is not managed by DW,
please.
