Dreamweaver and Windows Vista Problem

Hello,
I ran into a problem with my Dreamweaver - 8 application and
cannot find a fix. I open up the Dreamweaver application, 2-3
seconds later, I get the following error message, “A problem
caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available.” I am
using Windows Vista and believe the problem is associated with the
Vista operating system. I am puzzled by the fact that I have been
using Dreamweaver with Vista and have had no problems up until now.
I uninstalled & reinstalled Dreamweaver to no avail. I
restored my computer to an earlier date, and updated Dreamweaver,
and still have the same problem.
Any help to resolve this problem would be greatly
appreciated.

Hello Again,
I finally fixed the problem. I went into my network settings
and reset my network address. This did the trick, I went back and
opened up Dreamweaver without any problem.

How to setup ftp with dreamweaver and windows server 2003

Does anyone know if there is a tutorial/article on settinp up Dreamweaver cs3 to use Windows server 2003 as an FTP server...
any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

I was able to figure out how to setup the ftp connection, connect to my home server, however,whenever i tried to upload the contents of my website to my server, nothing gets uploaded to the site. I tried putting one page at a time, nothing. tried everything, and still no joy. I can see everything on my local server which is a XAMP package, but nothing on my remote server. Do i maybe need to maybe have a WAMP or XAMP on the Windows Server 2003 or that should not matter. This is new to me so i am learning as i go along.
Another thing, i was able to create a subfolder in my c:\www.ftproot folder, i can see that folder on my local machine, i'm just not seeing the files in that folder when i do my 'put' with my files.

Dreamweaver and windows 7 Home Premium

Here's what I do: I open up "Data files for Students" in the files menu and right-click on "Data files for Students" and create a new folder and name it "carolynes_creations". then I go to Site and click New, Advanced and create "Carolyne's Creations". then i browse to "data files for students" and click on "carolynes_creations" and it will not create the site. When I click on "data files for students" and it creates a path called "c\data files for students\". in order to create the site i have to type in at the end of that path \carolynes_creations making it "c\data files for students\carolynes_creations\" then it will create the Site
After I create Site-Carolyne's Creation i then right click on it and create a folder and name it "assets"....then i go to Manage Sites click Edit then browse to set "assets" as the default image folder dreamweaver doesn't recognize that "assets" is the image folder and will not set it as "default image folder".
Anyone have a issue like this? and how did you resolve it.

It's a well know bug. Workaround is to type the name of the folder or to create a dummy folder one level down.

Dreamweaver CS3 in Vista 64 and Windows 7

I am running Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista 64 and Windows 7 Pro for about 2 months now.
When I go to set up a new Site Definition and select a Local root folder, I find I have to go down an extra directory in order to get Dreamweaver to select the directory I want as root. (example: have to select the image directory).
Windows 7 is out officially now, I wonder if this problem has been fix in CS4, and how CS4 preforms on Windows 7.
I have been hodling off upgrading to CS4 for a year now, since Adobe has not make any statements about Windows 7 support. If adobe has release some statements, can someone point me to the statement?
What is the possible release schedule for CS5, I am thinking May 2010?

CS5: May 2010 would be 19 months - but only Adobe knows the real date.

Dreamweaver CS4 and Windows 7 Compatibility

When using CS4 (Dreamweaver and Fireworks) the "Properties" panel does not display correctly when running in Windows 7. The bottom half of panel is out of site no matter screen resolution and the input boxes "Title" etc are cutoff vertically.
Is this a compatibility issue, and if so, does anyone know of a work around?

Workaround
***Goto Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Display
***Select on the left "Set custom text size (DPI)"
**Set whatever scale percentage you want (DPI)
***Uncheck "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling"
Click "OK"
When you load up Dreamweaver you should see the whole Properties pane.
In the case that you don't after changing that setting restart your computer and try again.

Dreamweaver CS3 and Windows 8 Issues

I have Dreamwever CS3 and Windows 8 and I keep getting errors that can only be resolved by closing down DW and losing the work I have processed so far. I happens mostly when I use extentions such as Webassaist Data Bridge. I have visited their forum but they advised me to checkout you trouble shooting service.

Hi,
If Dreamweaver is working fine without the extensions, I am not sure if we should be troubleshooting Dreamweaver. Just to be sure, Windows 8 is not a supported version for Dreamweaver CS3. It could possibly work, but wouldn't have been tested on Windows 8 as Adobe supports only the previous two versions of any software.
This is my best answer. You could wait for other experts for their opinion.

Can't uninstall dreamweaver and photoshop 32 bit from windows 64bit

I have dreamweaver and photoshop cs6 installed on windows 7 in the c:\program files (x86) folder. I want to remove it, but it won't work.
The cleaner tool also doesn't list these files and in the program manager of windows 7 I also can't uninstall it. What should I do, can I uninstall it manually?
I think it has something to do with the 32bit vs 64 bit versions of adobe dreamweaver cs6 on my pc.

I have an app in the App Store that I designed in Photoshop, developed in Dreamweaver CS6, and packaged with Adobe PhoneGap Build. The first three steps - design, development, and packaging I did on a Windows computer. But I used a Mac for my developer certificate and provisioning profile, as well as the finall step of preparing and submitting it to the App Store through Application Loader.

You'll also need an Apple Developer account, and an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard or later to develop and distribute iOS apps. If you're building an app for a client, you'll use their developer account for the submission process.

In this log file I can see you are getting Error : U44M1P7 while updating the software
This Error comes where language packs for software are not installed properly on the machine.
I would suggest to update Adobe Application manager from
Windows : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
MAC: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
then try to install the update if still you are not able to update software and getting same error then uninstall all the Adobe software selecting remove prefernces.
After uninstalling the software run the Adobe Cleaner tool(http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and remove the leftovers.

How do I reconnect using SSL/TLS security in Dreamweaver using Windows 7?

I am using an old version of Dreamweaver on Windows 7. When I try to upload a file, I get a message saying that I need to reconnect using SSL/TLS security mechanisms. Is this a setting in Dreamweaver or Windows 7? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

It sounds like it is a requirement of the server, not Dreamweaver or Windows7
Dreamweaver, even older versions, can connect using both FTP and SFTP. But SSL/TLS are on the HTTP protocol, not FTP, so I don't understand why you would get such an error using DW file upload.

CS5 Dreamweaver on Windows Vista. Will not open at all. Been fine until now. No recent updates on computer, other Creative Suite software all work fine too.
I have the Student package installation so I am unable to uninstall then re-install as one off set up. Or is it possible to get the re-installation on a student package, and if so will I have to re-install everything?
have been using Dreamweaver only two months ago and now it is will not open. I do not get anything on the screen, no egg-timer or anything. Tried to look up online to solve problem, but no joy.

When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW

I created a link to a SWF in Dreamweaver, and can't close the SWF...

Hello all-
I am experimenting with a website in Dreamweaver, and created a link to a SWF. When the link is clicked, the SWF displays but there is no way to close it (it takes up the entire screen.) I know I need to add AS3 code to a close button in the SWF, and NOT close the browser window. I know the answer is simple, but fscommand("quit") doesn't seem to work....there should be a simple line of code that does this- if anyone knows I appreciate some help, and thank you in advance for your time!!!!

if you have access to the server where the swf resides, you can program a Flashcontainer (you need flash to do that not Dreamweaver) that loads the swf on your on stage (google as3 load external swf) and remove it deliberately.
