Dreamweaver AP DIV and Rollover Actions

New to Dreamweaver. Enviornment Win XP using DW CS4.  I have created tables using rollovers but discovered that AP DIVS and rollovers don't always work as expected.  Here is the problem. I have a menu column that is about 3 inches tall. The top porton of the menu is a tab that says "About Us."  The lower portion of the column lists the menu items.  I have the about us tab set up as a rollover.  When you mouse over the tab, it is suppose to change color and the tab is suppose to move down about 1/4".  Then when you actually click on the tab, you are taken to another web page.  When I created this in a table, it was easy.  I had two images. One image was set at the size of the td and when rolled over, the second image appeared in the different color and moved slightly down so as to give the appearance that the tab had moved down.  However with the ap div, I can get the image to change color, but the smaller size image (to give the appearance of moving down), is actually stretched by the ap div to fit the size of the ap div box.  Not at all what I expected.  So it appears that an ap div behavior is in order but I am not sure how to accomplish this.  I did not find any behavior that would resize the ap div box and move it down to the appropriate position.  If you mouse out, it should return to the proper position, original size and return to the original color.  Any ideas?  A quick response would be appreciated.  Thanks!

  • Loading SWF in Dreamweaver using DIV and Accordian

    Hi
    I am wanting to create a web page with a vertical navigation panel on the left of the page and because this will includes 'categories' and 'sub categories' (see below)
    CATEGORY 1
    sub category 1a
    sub category 1b
    sub category 1c
    sub category 1d
    sub category 1e
    CATEGORY 2
    sub category 2a
    sub category 2b
    sub category 2c
    sub category 2e
    Ideally I would want the Category tabs when clicked to reveal the sub categories (Accordian)
    I have the Spry Accordian set in a Div at the moment in Dreamweaver and the sub categories
    open up and function fine. What I would like to achieve is to make all those sub categories links, to insert a SWF in to the div that is located to the right of the vertical nav column. (see attachment simple diagram) So, say sub category 2a was clicked then in the 'SWF display area div', the SWF associated with that link would appear, the if 'sub category 2d' was clicked the same 'SWF area div' was populated with the SWF linked to 'sub category 2d', if 'sub category 2e' was clicked then the SWF associated with 'sub category 2e' would then load into the 'SWF area div'. The attached image may make things clearer.
    Many thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me.

    Hi
    What you are talking about is an ajax enabled page, you can use html or xml using spry, (see - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/spry/)
    Or any type of page php,asp, etc. using one of the javascript frameworks such as jQuery.

  • I'm having an issue displaying a button using advanced actions and rollover slidelets.

    I'm having an issue getting a button to display after the learner places his mouse over three different rollover slidelets which are all on the same slide. I created three variables and assigned each to the rollover slidelets. I also created a conditional action that I assigned to the slide. The variables are set to zero and then the action is to assign the variable with 1 after it's rolled over. The conditional action says that once all three variables are equal to 1, show the button and continue. Unfortunately the button is not displaying after the three rollovers have been viewed. Any insight?

    I can only suspect what is going wrong, it would have been a lot easier if you did show those actions.
    My suspicion is due to this sentence '... a conditional action that I assigned to the slide'? There are two slide events: On Enter, and On Exit. Read more about those events:
    http://blog.lilybiri.com/events-and-advanced-actions
    Those events can trigger an advanced action but only at that frame: first frame (On enter), last frame of the slide. But you expect the button to appear when the three rollover events have occurred? That means the condition has to be checked by each action triggered by the rollover events. Have multiple examples on my blog for such use cases, latest one was:
    http://blog.lilybiri.com/blog-after-posterous-clickclick
    Shortly:
    Use the On Enter event of the slide to reset the three variables to zero, that will be a standard advanced action with three Assign statements (this is not necessary if you never expect the user to return to that slide)
    Use each Rollover event to trigger a conditional advanced action with two decisions:
    First decision 'Always' will be a mimicked standard action, and toggles that variable to 1
    Second decision 'Checkit' will have your condition to see if the three variables are equal to 1, if Yes show the button, if No, nothing has to happen (or maybe Continue, depends on setup)

  • Can I use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with creative cloud photography?

    I'm really confused by this subscription pricing. If I purchase the $9.99/month, do I get the full desktop app of Photoshop and Lightroom? But I see on this page Products they list something called Photoshop CC that costs twice as much. How is that different from the Creative Cloud Photography?
    My main question is whether I can use photoshop text styles and photoshop actions with Creative Cloud Photography, since I just purchased a bundle that includes these and I want to be able to use them. But I'd also like to understand what comes with all of the various products and how they are different.
    My other question is how is Lightroom different from Photoshop? I have a sense of what you can do in Photoshop but I don't know much about Lightroom at all.
    One more question: the free trial -- is it limited in any way besides the time length? If I do that, will I get a clear idea of all that I will be able to do once I subscribe, or are the functions limited in the trial?
    I tried to just send an email to Adobe to ask these questions but apparently they are not interested in responding to emails from people who are not yet paying customers, so I was directed here. Thanks very much for your help!

    I always like to trot this bit about Bridge once in a while or in the voice of the "Two Bobs" from Office Space,
    "Can you tell us exactly what it is you do around here?"
    What Adobe Bridge does:
    Bridge is the coordinating hub of the Creative Suite. Synchronizing color management settings for all suite programs is done from Bridge, and can only be done from Bridge, to take one important use.
    Bridge displays actual thumbnails of many more file types than Finder or Explorer. It also allows instant play of sound or video files more readily than the native OS file managers.
    Bridge allows direct access to file metadata, to embed copyright information  and keywords where appropriate (e.g., for corporate logo vector and raster files). It also displays the fonts used in an InDesign file, the swatches in an INDD or AI and the output plates (including spot color plates) they use.
    When managing the assets for a design project, Bridge allows quick and simple sorting, rating and custom labeling (with color flash indications) of assets. I can rate images according to whether they are rejects, possibles, for review by client, or approved. The filters built into Bridge allow instant isolation of only the approved images or designs in a folder, only the rejects (for deletion) or only files with certain ratings, no matter how many files it contains. It recognizes aspect ratios, so if I only need a landscape or a 16:9 image in a folder of hundreds of images, I turn off the aspect ratios I don't need.
    Once filtered, the remaining visible files can be selected and copied, moved, or deleted without affecting the rest of the contents of a folder.
    Collections are a massively useful feature. One of my clients is a performing arts center, and in a season we turn out dozens of ads, flyers, brochures, web banners, playbills, billboards and other collateral using the same assets over and over. These assets are organized by artist and/or show on disk, but I set up each season's repeating assets as a Collection in Bridge, so that I just have to open the collection and drag and drop these assets into new INDD, AI, PSD, HTML (in Dreamweaver), FLA or AE projects without having to navigate from folder to folder picking up individual files.
    Bridge's Favorites is another place I stack frequently-accessed folders, such as stock photography, backgrounds, and top-level folders for active projects.
    Assets can be divided into subfolders, but a quick toggle of "Show items from subfolders" exposes all of the assets in a single view while maintaining their organization. I will typically keep AIs, PSDs, EPSs, stock photography and client images in separate subfolders within a project. When I'm ready to start pulling assets into an InDesign layout, I toggle this on and simply drag what I need into the layout.
    Bridge comes with Adobe Camera Raw built in, which is many times faster than using Photoshop to adjust jpegs or tiffs for things like tonal range, white balance, cropping, spotting and sharpening, and is non-destructive.
    One tremendously useful Bridge function for InDesign CS5+ users is the "Show linked files" feature, which opens all the linked files in a layout into a single view, regardless of where they are physically located. I often use this when doing alternative layouts from a client-approved mockup for a campaign, to be certain the same assets are used in each piece, or when creating a motion graphic or interactive piece for the campaign in After Effects or Flash.
    The batch and image processing scripts built into Bridge automate things like creating web-ready small jpegs from multiple images, renaming large numbers of files in place or by copying to an alternative location, creating sets of PSD, png, jpeg or other file types from an assortment of image files, and so on.
    Bridge is so much a part of my daily workflow that on my main workstation I have one monitor dedicated to it almost 100%. Bridge just sits open 24/7, ready for use. I would run at half speed without it, no question.

    Hi,
    Could anyone kindly help me to fix this issue??
    We are Migrating Weblogic from 11g 10.3.2 to 10.3.6
    After starting the server and checking the log, it keeps on prints "log4j:WARN Failure in post-close rollover action" in the log for several time.
    It would be very helpful if you give me a solution to solve this issue.
    Thanks

  • Aligning two divs and centering them.

    so i am running into one main issue with my website. As of now the only two things on my site are a gray image and an image slider. I managed to get them into the same div and next to each other but i need them to both be static and centered by the webpage. I have put them into the same div with class="col-xs-6" and what you see happened. I know that my slider is responsive. They basically need to be next to each other and centered. I am new at making websites but this would help me a lot.
    My site: http://rootforsite.azurewebsites.net/ (f12 for code)
    I just need them next to each other and centered. Any thoughts?

  • AS2 Clicktag and Rollover questions

    I'm creating a banner ad for Yahoo.com and am running into a conflict with the Rollover replay and Clicktag. Both are buttons on separate layers with the ClickTag on top. If the Clicktag button is on, the rollover (replay) button is ignored.
    I'm wondering what changes I need to make, but I need to keep the AS2 out of the Clicktag button. Also, if I rollover and out quickly, the animation replays, when it should stop. Thanks for any help. I've attached my .fla CS4 for analyzing.
    Yahoo specs of note:
    Animation can begin again on mouse over, but must stop immediately on mouse off.
    When building flash creative, please note that the expression box must be checked and the URL should say clickTag.
    If you would like to see the CS4 file, which may explain a lot more, please visit this link.
    http://board.flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?p=4291469#post4291469
    Thanks again!
    Rollover/replay AS2 code
    on (rollOver) {
        this.play(2)
    on (rollOut) {
        this.gotoAndStop(33)
    Clicktag
    on (release) {
    getURL(clickTag, "_blank");

    Thanks for the quick response. So here is exactly what I did.
    Removed the codes from both button objects.
    Renamed both button objects (clickTag_btn and replay_btn).
    Removed Var loop code from Actions layer frame 1
    Added following code to Actions layer, frame 1.
    clickTag_btn.onRelease=function(){
    getURL(clickTag,"_blank");
    replay_btn.onRollOver=function(){
    this._parent.play(2);
    replay_btn.onRollOut=function(){
    this._parent.gotoAndStop(33);
    I changed the second and third actions to replay_btn, rather than clickTag as you noted. Otherwise it wouldn't call for replay, and why rename it correct? In any case, the file doesn't click through or rotate with this code. The hand appears, when I hover over it, but no frame 1 actions are executed.
    Layer 1 - Clickthrough button (no code)
    Layer 2 - Rotate button (no code)
    Layer 3 - Actions (see above for code)
    What am I missing that is not allowing both buttons to be recognized by the actionscript? Thanks again!

  • Dreamweaver CS5.5 and SFTP

    Greetings
    I am trying to connect to my FTP Server with Dreamweaver using SFTP (port 22). I can connect using FTP (port 21). I can also connect using the same credentials, with SFTP using CuteFTP client.
    Any suggestions?

    So based on this last post you are able to connect but you are not able to
    transfer files.  And based on the error I will assume uploading new files
    is ok, it's just the overwriting that is causing an issue or uploading,
    even new files, to a specific folder is causing an issue.  Can you verify
    that the ownership settings are correct on your account (you may need to
    contact your host to fix if this is the issue)?

  • Floating divs and scroll bar in div

    I've been searching the postings and can't find an answer to
    this. I'm trying to make #content a div that, when content is too
    much for the div, scroll bar will appear and not expand the entire
    design. I assigned a height to the div and added overflow:auto; but
    it still doesn't work. Please advise! Thank you...again....
    http://www.nsbcustomjewelry.com/DIVTEST.shtml

    You page is completely broken in Firefox and IE7.
    You will need to go through your container widths because
    they are not
    correct. In FF for example, you can't see the right sidebar
    nav, in IE7,
    the content area is being dropped down.
    If you remove the margin-left: 175px; from #content and
    change the width to
    around 322px; it moves it into position correctly, but you
    need to narrow
    the width of the #leftnav to at least 155px;
    Work out the rest of your widths and the right sidebar should
    show up ok.
    The scrollbar does show up once you narrow down the width of
    the content
    area. At the moment, there's not enough content in there (at
    the width you
    have) to invoke a scrollbar.
    Hope this helps :)

  • I need help importing navigation bars and rollover buttons from fireworks?

    I need help importing navigation bars and rollover buttons from fireworks, drop down menus and rollover states won't work!
    Thanks

    In my experience, the code created by graphics apps is less than satisfactory. And image based menus are very awkward for several reasons.
    #1 If you decide to change your menu later, you must go back to your graphics app and re-craft the whole thing.  After 2-3 times of this, it gets old in a hurry.
    #2 Image based menus cannot be "seen" by search engines, screen readers and language translators.
    #3 CSS styled text menus are better for your site's visibility, accessibility and they are a snap to edit in Dreamweaver.
    That said, if you're still married to image based menus, use Fireworks to create images only. Use Dreamweaver's Image Rollover Behaviors to create your rollover scripts.

    Hello everyone, I have an issue getting my divs to function properly. I have a container div and I want the table div to float inside (and move with page resize). Right now it doesnt move with the page (see photo).
    However, when I change the position to relative of that div, it moves under the container div and locks itself there.(Second photo)
    Any help would be great! Thanks!

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.

  • Problem with Div and table

    I have a table that contains data parsed for a weather station page.  It also has a webcam picture on the page.  Up until now, the webcam pic has loaded via an applet but I want to change that to a jquery slideshow so it's accessible to more mobile devices.   My problem is that no matter what I do (aside from putting a 5x240 spacer) I can't get the table data to display below the webcam div (id="featured").  I've put the webcam and data table in their own div, the webcam's div in the table, used clear:both on the divs, tried setting block size, but it's like nothing is working.   So I'm back to go and thought I'd post it here since there are so many folks here who know more about this than me.  This is the html, right now with no CSS classes or anything added.  So whatever you would suggest as far as div and/or table layout and any CSS would be appreciated.

  • Use of user status and business actions

    Hi all,
    I'm new at status profiles, user status and business actions.
    Currently we are using status profiles and user status for orders - but business actions aren't assigned to the user status. In a project I should evaluate whether we can use those business actions.
    After reading a lot of documentations there is still one question left. What are the business-actions for and how can I use them?
    Let's say I've a status profile with following user status with according business actions:
    - status: new;   business action: to progress
    - status: in progress;   business action: to confirm
    - status: confirmed;   business action: decline or close
    - status: closed;   business action: close
    What happens when a user sets the status of an order to "confirmed"? Will be done additional checks for my order? - If yes: Wich checks will be done and exists there an API to effect these checks or to implement additional checks?
    Regards,
    Christian

    Christian;
    If you´re wanting to speak about Status Profile in OP. You can execute whole theses steps in T-code BS02, when in this IMG:
    1. Enter a Status Profile.
    2. Assign the status profile to an Object Type.
    3. Define the User Status.
    4. Assign Business Transactions to user statuses.
    5. Translate the status profile and user statuses.
    You can also to use this function to simulate the status development for a particular object.
    To do this, select a status profile and branch to the screen "Allowed Object Types". Then place the cursor on one of the object types.
    Using the function Extras -> Status simulation, you can simulate the status changes that could be caused by performing various business transactions, or by changing the staus manually, during the lifetime of the object concerned.
    You can also branch directly from simulation to status maintenance for the object concerned, to display information on which transactions are allowed or disallowed in the current situation.
    The log function records all the changes you simulate and allows you to navigate freely to see what effects these are having.
    Status profile info
    Using the function Extras -> Status profile info, you can display a list of all the entries you have made for a particular status profile. The list is structured as follows:
    The first block contains the permitted object types.
    The second block contains the user statuses.
    The third block contains the following information for each user status:
    which transactions it allows
    which transactions it allows with a warning
    which transactions it disallows.
    I hope help to you
    Regards
    Luciano Nobrega
