DreamWeaver CC compatibility

Is DWCC compatibile with MACOS 10.6.8? DWCC crashes every time I attempt to open an existing DW6 document. When attempting to create a Fluid Grid layout, the following error message is displayed:
"An internal error occured while resizing a view. (CView::ResizeFrameBy)
Thanks!

No. 10.7 through 10.8 only.

  • Testing website in Dreamweaver for compatibility in different browsers

    Hi,
    A while ago, I had read on my facebook wall (but can't find that comment anymore) that Dreamweaver had recently made an upgrade; we are now able test our website in Dreamweaver for compatibility in different browsers and that it also tells us what needs to be fixed for our site to work within certain browsers. Where do I go for that exactly?
    Thanks

    There is an extension for DW called browserlab I think. Seems slow to me but I havent used it much.
    browsershots.org is a good site where you can test your pages in most any browser ever invented. Its somewhat slow, depending on how many browsers you want to test, but I like it.

  • Adobe Bridge CC to Adobe Dreamweaver CC compatibility issues

    I've just got off the phone to Adobe help desk following an investigation which took a number of days to resolve.
    The problem was this -
    I'm studying for a Dreamweaver ACE exam on Monday (wish me luck!) and I'm using Adobe Dreamweaver CC "Classroom in a book" to help me prepare.
    One of the tasks is to access Adobe Bridge CC, select a JPEG image, and then click File > Place > Dreamweaver to transfer the image from Bridge to where you want to place the image in Dreamweaver. Wouldn't be a problem except on Bridge you can no longer follow the commands File > Place > Dreamweaver, because on the latest versions of Bridge, (as I was eventually told by Adobe helpdesk after their investigation) the option to place a file or image onto Dreamweaver (and now Photoshop) no longer exisits.
    this was confirmed when the gentleman at Helpdesk tried installing the latest versions of Bridge/Dreamweaver/Photoshop onto his computer and encountered the same issue.
    I'm wondering whether Adobe are now phasing out Bridge as it is now becoming less compatible with Dreamweaver (and now Photoshop) and if so, what it is being replaced with?
    I'm also hoping that im not going to get an outdated question on my ACE exam re compatibility between Dreamweaver and Bridge, but thats a whole different issue...
    Cheers guys, all the best, and happy new year!

    Is this something that has changed from CS6 to CC?
    No, you either are trying to copy from a disk that does not allow you to copy or you don't have the correct admin permission for read write in Finder.
    Check the folder or disk with cmd + i (get info) and at the bottom check if you have the correct read and write permissions
    But the easiest way to copy to a folder on your system is opening the folder panel in Bridge with the wanted destination folder in view and drag and drop (with option pressed for copy if you are on the same disk) the file from the content panel to that folder.

  • Dreamweaver browser compatibility

    I wrote a simple little BMI calculator that was putting the result in a span. Because I wanted to clear all fields, I modified the javascript to put the calculated result into a form input field. Now, the calculator works in some browsers and not others. It works in Chrome and Safari but not IE and Firefox. I verified the code with W3C and used the browser compatibility function in Dreamweaver to check my code. Everything is supposedly fine. HELP! Has anyone else had this problem?

  • First Site in Dreamweaver - IE compatibility problem

    I've just recently updated to Dreamweaver (from Expression Web).
    I made my own template so that all my links, footer, and header, are easy.
    When I published the site, looks fine in Firefox. But in IE... you only get the background.

    Anyone have any suggestions on what I've done or  haven't done, I've never had this problem before.
    Thanks

    On Line 9, your embedded stylesheet begins
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    (where <!-- is the starting point for a HTML comment)
    The stylesheet ends at line 184 with
    </style>
    i.e. there is no closing --> to close the HTML comment so IE thinks the entire page code from that point to the end is a comment. In other words, there is no page content in IE's eyes.
    (If you view the page code in DW Code View, you'll see that it's all grey until line 214 where Dreamweaver sees a "-->")
    The fix is to add a closing comment delimiter just before the closing </style>:
    Change
    #h-navbar a:hover {
    color: #FFF;
    background-color: #3A5A89;
    </style>
    to
    #h-navbar a:hover {

  • Dreamweaver WordPress Compatibility

    I have a client that needs a website created that will have the usual web pages as well as an events/calendar page and an interactive blog with a comment posting section. They want it designed in word press because after it is complete they are going to train in word press so they can update the site themselves in the future. I only know dreamweaver and my question is this:
    Can I create it in Dreamweaver then give them the files and have it be totally compatible with word press once they get it? In other words when (and if they can) pop the files into word press everything will work and look perfect and they will be able to sucessfully take it from there doing the updates themselves with word press? Or does it have to be created in word press from the start.
    Thanks,
    Paul W.

    not taking anything away from word press, its a great blogging tool... but it's not really a cms.  with that said, if you hack apart anything enough, you can make it cms like.
    Can you "pop the files into word press everything will work and look perfect"... NO.  word press is another one of those open source solutions that require you build the website around their solution, rather than add it to what you've already done. You will need to create and modify word press html/css files in code view to achieve the look/feel of the website, and download plugins to gain the functionality they will want... and using word press, your clients can fubar your design.  are there people using word press successfully as a cms... yes... but it's not what it's designed to do.
    I would encourage you to tell your clients to use something that can be added to an existing design, like incontext from adobe, or cushy cms, or similar.  It's a css triggered cms which makes it incredibly easy to work with, and flexible as well.  If you're a more advanced coder, you can also create your own cms... after all, it's just update server behaviors and database driven content... it's really that basic.

  • Dreamweaver 3 compatability with CS6

    I have created a 48 page website using Dreamweaver 3. I have now upgraded to Dreamweaver CS6. Can I import the website created in 3 and make it work properly as I would hate to have to start all over again from scratch.

    All you need to do is go to Site > Manage Sites > and create a site definition that tells DW CS6 where to your find your current site files.
    C:\yourSite\
    Some features are new & others are deprecated in CS6.

  • My dreamweaver  2 websote is not compatible with my windows 7 computer.

    I am ulnable to make changes to mhy website becauseit was designed usilng dreamweaver  2. and my new computer has windows 7 .My old computer had windows xp but that computer no longer works.. I had no problem accessing dreamweaver 2 with windows xp
    Every solution that I have heard about  is very expensive or very  hard to do.
    So far, the solutions that have heard about  are:
    1. hire someone to redesign my entire website using  a  much later edition of dreamweaver
    2. take windows xp off my old computer  and install it on my new computer
    3. Buy a widows xp  cd and install it on my new computer
    3. Buy a windows xp computer and use it instead of my windows 7 computer
    4 buy a windows xp computer and hook it and my windows 7 computer to the same monitor. The suggested techniques for doing this involve any of the following:
           A. get a vga signal splitter and reverse it using gender changer. or
          B.Best Buy suggested using a  KVM switch
    I am non-technical and will have to hire all of this to be done. Cost is very important.

    There are 2 things you could try.
    The first (which is unlikely to work, but simple) is to try running Dreamweaver in "compatIbility mode". To do this, right click the shortcut to Dreamweaver, select 'Properties' and then on one of the tabs (I forget which) there should be the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for". Select Windows XP (doesn't matter which SP you choose) and then try starting it again.
    The second thing you can do is use the new Windows 7 XP Mode. Basically this runs a virtual XP machine and gives you a (free) copy of Windows XP within Windows 7. You can get this from Microsoft here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
    Once that is installed, install Dreamweaver on the XP it loads on your computer.
    If either of these solutions aren't to your liking then either get a new Dreamweaver (which should have no problem reading your old site) or, as this is considerably expensive, consider an open source alternative (open source being free).
    There are many alternatives available, Google "Dreamweaver open source alternative" for a selection, but one I've liked in the past is Bluefish:
    http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/index.html
    Although these options don't match the features of current versions of Dreamweaver, they are probably quite comparable to Dreamweaver 2 and most likely greatly surpass it (unless of course you're meaning Dreamweaver CS2).

  • Suddenly can't see files on remote server

    I am at a loss. I have been managing about 7 or 8 simple
    websites for quite a few years using Dreamweaver MX 2004. This
    week, I have suddenly lost the ability to see the remote files on
    about half of the websites I manage. The files are there when I log
    on and look through the hosting service....but is there something I
    can do so I can function again in Dreamweaver? I prefer to use it

  • Contribute confused?

    I have finally got Dreamweaver to test OK in my manage sites
    Contribute section. The answer was to provide a URL of the form
    "\\myComputerName\siteFolder" (OK, OK, obvious was'nt it?). Great I
    thought were finally there. Go to Contribute and set up a site
    connection and it appears (I have not used a key or password at
    this stage). When I load up I am informed that I do not have a
    connection (yellow bar at top "you are viewing a page that you
    have'nt created a connection to."). OK, Edit my connections and go
    to create a connection where I'm told I already have a connection.
    The connection info. is:
    URL = file://barleytwist/wmsV3/
    Network path = C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wmsV3\
    I have not found a similar problem to this. Any suggestins
    appreciated.

    Hi
    Can i know more information on this to help you. I see that
    you are
    using IIS on a windows machine. Here is what i understand
    from your
    message - Correct me if i am wrong?
    1. You Created a connection in dreamweaver
    2. You tried to manage it from dreamweaver contribute
    compatibility
    section
    3. You went and created connection to your site in
    contribute using
    the path \\myComputerName\siteFolder? What is the site URL
    you have
    given when creating connection for the first time?
    Can you edit your existing contribute connection and try
    using
    http://localhost/wmsV3/ instead
    of file://localhost/wmsV3?
    Can you elaborate more on your problem?
    Thanks
    Arun

  • Contribute 4 connection issues

    I have read all the other forums to try and fix my
    problem. I stupidly tried to change something in the permissions on
    our website using Contribute 4 and now I can't access it at all.
    The FTP settings are good as I can access them using coffeecup. I
    removed Contribute from the pc, reinstalled and tried to make a
    connection to our website using the same access codes, password etc
    and get to the remote pathway window on the connection wizard, it
    comes up with the error " The server is unable to create a
    directory. Please verify that you have sufficient permission to
    create a directory." I am very frustrated with this system!!!!!!
    PLEASE - can someone help me !!? Our website urgently needs
    updating and I cannot get into it.

    Maybe it's also wise to contact your ISP and ask if they
    changes anything on the server that could be the cause of this.
    What did you change in setting permissions? Are you referring
    to the fact that you are working with an older version of
    Contribute and changed permissions using a trial version of en
    newer version Contribute? If you used a trial of CS3 to administer
    a website managed by an older version of Contribute you have a
    problem, after you administer a site in CS3 you cannot administer
    that site anymore in the older version. Visit this post in
