Is there a good FREE Extension for Dreamweaver to create Menus ?

Truly "good" and "free" don't typically go hand in had when it comes to DW extensions.
There are tons of free scripts available online though. Do a search for "css menu system" or "css navigation menu"
There are a ton of tutorials on how to make menus using css so you never have to rely on third party developers to make your site functional (or keep it that way after a program update renders an extension obsolete).
It is a very useful skill to acquire in reality.
If you really, really don't want to understand the reasons why your site works the way it works, and refuse to get into any aspect of code, I would suggest the Menu Magic extension from Project VII. I hear good things, but you will need a budget, they're not free.

Error updating Dreamweaver and Extension Manager CS6 (Creative Cloud)

I'm having troubles updating Dreamweaver and Extension Manager CS6 (Creative Cloud) on Macbook Pro with OS version 10.8.2. I get this error codes for both updates U44M1P7.
The log files are generated.

In this log file I can see you are getting Error : U44M1P7 while updating the software
This Error comes where language packs for software are not installed properly on the machine.
I would suggest to update Adobe Application manager from
Windows : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
MAC: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
then try to install the update if still you are not able to update software and getting same error then uninstall all the Adobe software selecting remove prefernces.
After uninstalling the software run the Adobe Cleaner tool(http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and remove the leftovers.

Business Catalyst add-on install problem with Dreamweaver CC & Extension Manager CC

I'm trying to use an add-on I've installed for Dreamweaver CC but it is not visible (Windows > Extensions > no extensions available). When I view applications through CC App, it shows that the Business Catalyst add-on is installed. Likewise, when I use the Adobe Extension Manager, it also shows the Business Catalyst add-on is installed. I checked Photoshop and my add-ons are visible in their panels. I noticed one of the troubleshooting steps for Business Catalyst add-on states:
a. Check the version of Adobe Extension Manager CC installed on your machine.
b. If the version is not 7.3.3.39 or later, update your Adobe Extension Manager CC using the Creative Cloud app.
I checked my version of Extension Manager and it's only at ver. 7.3.2.39 even though I followed the update procedure through the Creative Cloud app. I've closed all apps and re-started my computer. I've followed all the troubleshooting procedures I can find on the Add-ons website and the forums and I'm stuck.
My versions:
Dreamweaver CC 2014.1
Extension Manager CC ver. 7.3.2.39
Business Catalyst ver. 1.0.0
Creative Cloud Desktop Manager ver. 1.9.0.465
64 bit Mac OS X (10.10.2)
I appreciate any assistance.

Dreamweaver & MySQL Extension for PHP

Hey guys,
As everybody knows, the mysql extension in PHP has been deprecated and it will soon be replaced by mysqli, so does anybody know where I can find an Adobe Extension I can use so I can start using mysqli with Dreamweaver instead of mysql?
By the way, I'm using CS5, CS5.5, so I don't have access to exchange since Adobe put it to work only with CS6.

Unfortunately there is no extention available at the moment which replaces the old/current msql server behaviours in DW for msqli. Whilst they are/were useful they are/were also were quite limiting.
After Adobe announced that they would be removing the server behaviors in the current version of DW CC and that php announced that it would no longer support the sql extention in it's next release personally I decided it was time to move on. The good news is using sqli to connect/query a database is really quite a simple proceedure. Just Google a few tutorials.
I understand the reasoning for wanting sqli automation BUT its not available at the moment so you have two choices, 1) continue to use the old mysql server behaviours or 2) learn the new sqli way. It wont take you long to get to grips with it. The server behaviours in DW only offered the basics so learning those basics using sqli isn't going to be too time consuming, plus you actually get more familar with the coding.

Dreamweaver Air Extension

Hi I have tried unsuccessfully to add the air extension .mxp file (by double clicking on the file in finder) to Dreamweaver CC on an imac running Mavericks - everytime DW crashes - I have unistalled and reinstalled Dreamweaver but thi sdoes not help. Any suggestions? I was hoping to use the air extension to creat an app that utilises sqlite.

I don't know this error. I guess it is probably because
Dreamweaver could not create the certificate file. In that case,
you might change to another directory to output the certificate.

Dreamweaver ZXP Extensions will install in AEM CS6 but not in AEM CC

The ZXP Extensions install just fine in AEM CS6 but when I go to install in CC I get the Error Below. I have uninstalled CS6 Suite Completely and 'removed preferences', then fresh installed the latest version of AEM CC but still get the error. I reinstalled AEM CS6 & Dreamweaver CS6 and, to test the integrity of the file, installed the ZXP files just fine. I've also turned off the preferences too (in AEM CC) and still the same error. HELP! Would love to use Dreamweaver CC but can't get any of my extensions to install! OS = Windows 8.1, All Software is the Latest most up-to-date versions.

I wonder whether you can't install ALL signed DW extensions or just one or more specific extension(s). Please check "Enable detailed logging" option in preferences dialog box, restart AEM, then try to install extension. After reproducing the problem, quit AEM, then send the log file in "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log" folder to [email protected]

I am looking to have extension to add to my menu when I add
something new to my website kind of like a small yellow star like
label beside the name on the menu saying "new" to get the visitors
attention that something new has been added to the website. Can I
get something like that? If not how do I do that?

Dreamweaver relocated Extension Manager won't find it

Hello there,
I relocated most of my Adobe applications on a new HDD for space issues. My Extesion Manager now won't find Dreamweaver anymore : whenever I double clic on a .mxp extension to install it, i get this kind of message :
"Impossible to install this extension. Dreamweaver 8 or newer is required" (note that I have Dw CS4 !!!)
Is there a way to specify the new location of my Dw installation to the Extension Manager in the REGISTRY for example ? Or maybe in some XML configuration file...

Unfortunately you will get this problem with all your installed programs if you have just 'moved' the files as the registry entries refer to the original installed program positions.
I know it is probably too late, but you should de-register your programs, uninstall them, then install them on the new hdd.The only way now is to edit all your registry entries so that they refer to the new position of the files, (I have heard of programs that will do this for you, but as to their names, sorry).

Every time I open Dreamweaver cs5, it launches extension manager but it wont update the html5 extension pack. It says I have an internal error.

Updating Dreamweaver and extensions

I'm about to update my Dreamweaver (only from CS2 to CS3!). I
haven't done this for a while and remember back in the Macromedia
days that you had to keep your extensions separately as you would
lose them when you updated. Is this still the case? And if so, how
do I do this? I'm a Mac-user ... :)

1. Each CS product which Extension Manager supports has a file named XManConfig.xml. If Extension Manager can not find this file from a CS product, Extension Manager will not integrate this product. So in order to determine the cause, you can rename XManConfig.xml for all CS products temporarily (You can find this file under installation directory or its configuration sub-directory of each CS product), as a result, Extension Manager will not integrate any product.
2. Try to launch Extension Manager, if it can be launched successfully, then you can rename XManConfig.xml back one by one and launch Extension Manager again after each rename. If Extension Manager can not launched after you rename XManConfig.xml back for a certain product, then the problem is relevant to this product, you can generate log files to assist troubleshooting. You can read other threads in this forum to learn how to generate log files. Of course, if you don't need Extension Manager to manage extensions for a specific product, you don't need restore name of XManConfig.xml for that product.

Just to answer my own question:
Yes. It does apply to CS Extensions.
For example: CSXSInterface.getInstance().requestStateChange() does absolutely nothing in every test I've made in any app I've tried.
dw.flash.requestStateChange() works like a charm.
I really hope that requestStateChange() and all the corresponding events get fixed, but at least there's a workaround in Dreamweaver (where it's desperately needed because resize events are not dispatched when the swf is programtically resized...).
