Dreamweaver CC won't launch in Mavericks

This is a new download and install of Dreamweaver and it simply won't launch!
I'm running OS X Mavericks (10.9)

There have been a lot of issues with 10.9, most of them are cleared up by installing Java SE 6. Here's a thread discussing some of the problems and fixes...

  • Dreamweaver CS6 won't launch on Mavericks

    Hello,
Dreamweaver CS6 won't launch on Mavericks.
I've tried reinstalling Dreamweaver. I've tried removing Java. I've read the online suggestions.
But, Dreamweaver CS6 still won't launch. Darn it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks very much in advance

  • Dreamweaver 2014 won't launch in Mavericks... has anyone experienced this problem?

I downloaded the new 2014 version of Dreamweaver today & it won't launch in Mavericks... also dowloaded it to my PC & that works OK. Has anyone had this problem?

    Hi Harald,
Looks like this is happening because of some issue during installation of the product.
    Can you try the following:
    1. Un-install DWCC 2014. Note: Before un-installing, I would suggest you to backup any user preferences files, extensions or site settings.
    2. Log out from your Adobe ID login in creative cloud.
    3. Log-in back again and then download and install the product.
I am suggesting it since the same process helped one another user. Hence seeing if you are also encountering the same issue.

  • Dreamweaver CC won't launch - Mac OS 10.8.5 - No Crash Logs Created

Dreamweaver CC won't launch at all on my machine anymore.  All the other Adobe CC applications work just fine.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled all my CC applications and done it again for good measure.  I've uninstalled all my fonts and reinstalled the normal Mountain Lion fonts and the fonts installed with the Adobe CC apps.
Creative Cloud desktop is installed. It has update Dreamweaver to version 13.0.0.6391.  I'm aware that there is a version 13.1 out there, but Creative Cloud tells me I'm up-to-date and I have no more requests.
When launching Dreamweaver, It bounces in my dock for a brief second, then disappears.  No crash log is created. The Console app shows the following entry after a number of attempts to launch Dreamweaver:

  • Dreamweaver CC won't launch

I've downloaded Dreamweaver CC, but it won't launch. The icon bounces and then that's it. I've uninstalled, reinstalled and I get the same result. Any ideas?

    Hello,
There could be various reasons behind that.
    1. Corrupt or insufficient Permissions at the Disk
To fix this Repair permissions using Disk Utility.  Mac OS X Tutorial: How To Repair Disk Permissions - YouTube
    2. Corrupt Preferences Folder.
Please go to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe and Rename Dreamweaver CC to Dreamweaver CC_Old and then try to launch Dreamweaver.
Please go to ~/Library/preferences/Adobe and Rename Dreamweaver to Dreamweaver_Old and then try to launch Dreamweaver.
    3. Corrupt Profile.
Create a new Admin User profile and try to launch it there.
Please try the 3 suggestions above. If it still do not fix the issue please let us know.

I've tried verifying the disk, and repairing the desk, but can't find a fix.  It won't launch at all ever since the Mavericks upgrade.

If you did not install the software following the upgrade but did some form of transfer or migration then you should probably uninstall and then use the Cleaner Tool.  After that install using the discs or a downloaded set  of installation files.

  • Color won't launch on Mavericks

    Hello All,
When I launch Color I get the following error: Unable to intialize OpenGL. Make sure Video Desktop is disabled.
I searched online and seems like the solution was related to a BlackMagic video, of which I do not have. The video card in my system is an
ATI Radeon HD 4870 with 512MB of VRAM.
The card is installed on a 2009 MacPro running OSX Mavericks.
Originally I had the software installed on a 2006 MacPro running OS Lion with a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT with 256MB VRAM and it was running fine.
I got this 2009 MacPro used and first installed Lion on it fresh, then ran Transfer Assistant and once that was completed I updated to Mavericks.
I did find one article about setting Video display to None in FCP, but that didn't do anything, even with a reboot.
I'm now stuck with an application that won't work.
    Any ideas?

I figured out my issue. I have a 3rd monitor connected to the Mac that uses a USB to VGA converter. Once I disconnected that Color launched w/o any issue.

  • Dreamweaver CC won't launch. All other CC apps work fine.

I have been through the forum logs and have seen the notes about reinstalling Dreamweaver and installing Java. I have done both (uninstalled Dreamweaver, reinstalled/downloaded Dreamweaver CC from iCloud. I have downloaded and installed Java. Rebooted my machine. The icon bounces longer, but never gets to the splash screen.
I am running OS X 10.9.2 (Maverick) on a 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 iMac with 16GB of ram.
    Can you help??
    Thanks,
    Jane

I just spent over an hour on the phone with Adobe's support. It is finally resolve. It was a permissions issue. Basically, what the tech had to do was create a "root user" account, sign out of my account, sign into root user, uninstall Dreamweaver, then re-install Dreamweaver in the root user account. Since the root user account has full permissions, it worked. I definitely would not have figured that out without calling support and having a rep walk me through it. I didn't come across this solution on any forums I searched.
I also had a duplicate Macintosh HD drive apparently in the root user account that caused some confusion with install, so he had to pull that out onto the desktop also to avoid confusion with the install, but my guess is that wont be an issue for others.
If you can't solve it on your own, try calling the same # I called: 800-833-6687 Mon-Fri 5am-7pm PST.
    Hope you get it resolved.

  • Nowuptodate won't launch in mavericks

Now Up To Date will no longer work in mavericks.  It is my primary calendar program.  Won't uninstall, but I did a reinstall and still won't work

They went bankrupt, and the software all worked well until 10.9.  Have to see how i can get a copy of 10.8.5 and do a clean install of the old system.  Don't need mavericks if this program won't work

  • Dreamweaver 2004 Won't Launch

Tried installing again and again but no luck getting
Dreamweaver 2004 to launch on my E-mac. Worked just fine prior to
installing Tiger, at least that's what it seems.
    Thoughts?

    Good morning ArtieTet,
I had the exact same problem and came across your post. I've since solved it on my computer. I'm not sure what your level of computer expertise is and whether or not you're comfortable editing your registry, so I've dumbed-down the following instructions a bit - forgive me if they're too dumbed-down!
    1. Click Start
    2. Click Run
    3. Type regedit
    4. Click the OK button
    5. Double click the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key (folder) on the left
    6. Double click the SOFTWARE key
    7. Double click the MACROMEDIA key
    8. Right click the DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 key
    9. Click Rename
    10. Type a new name for the key, such as OLD DREAMWEAVER MX 2004
    11. Press Enter
    12. Try to start Dreamweaver again
If all goes well, Dreamweaver should open and re-create that DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 registry key from scratch. There's likely some corrupt data in it, though I haven't been able to figure out what. If I do, I'll let you know.

  • Automator won't launch anymore (Mavericks)

    Hi there.
I'm in need of assitance, as I'm runnig out of ideas how to solve this issue.
A few days ago, Automator crashed after running quite a huge script I created (but nothing fancy, just reproducing a calendar event 100 times, but it was quite a long window). After that, it refused to reopen no-matter what I tried. Sometimes, a messag ecomes: "relaunch windows ?" I tried with yes and no, no result. Generally, I click the icon, no window opens, going to the menu bar brings the colored spinning wheel, and then i closes itself after a few seconds.
I already check a few forums about it and tried the follwing:
Tried to launch it through the Guest account > it worked.
Tried to launch it in safe mode > it worked
Tried to relaunch it in normal mode > it failed
Tried it after rmoving all apple.com. Prferences files > it failed
I reinstalled Mavericks (not erase and reinstall) and laucnhed it afterwords > it failed
I don't know what to do now. It can't be I have to erase & reinstall everything just for one little app. Even though, I don't know if that would help, since reinstalling Mavericks made no difference. Is there a way to reinstall jsut Automator from the Guest account or newly created account ?
I'm stuck. I would really appreciate your help.
    Thank you very much.

(P.S. I'm replying to myself, because our answer windows are getting smaller and smaller).
Thanks for the infos, now I see what you mean.

  • Google chrome won't launch on Mavericks

    Hey all,
New to Mac's and new to the forums.
All of my software is fully up to date. I recently downloaded and installed Google Chrome from the internet. My problem is that when I try to launch it I get this error:
My user account information looks like this:
It looks like my home directory is the same as what the Google Chrome directory is. Any ideas why Google chrome can't read or write to it?
    Thanks!

Welcome to the discussions and to Mac-land.
You might consider not using Chrome, as most Google software for Macs (including Google Drive) has problems when trying to play with Mavericks. Spend a little time on this discussion and that will become evident.
As a general rule I try to stay away from third party software when it just duplicates (usually badly) software that comes with, and is designed to be used with, Mavericks.
But if you want to try to fix what is wrong with your Chrome installation, a good place to start would be to use Disk Utility (it's in Applications > Utilities) to repair your permissions.
Do you have any third-party "utilites" installed, i.e., "cleaners", "optimizers", "accellerators", or anything that smells like that, for example, CleanMyMac or MacKeeper? This may be the problem.

  • ITunes won't launch since maverick update on late 2010 macbook air

have tried downloading and reinstalling itunes on my late 2010 macbook air, but since maverick update itunes will not lauch and has to be force quit in order to close, this happens instantly on launch??

My machine was running quite slow too, especially boot time. Repairing permissions and zapping PRAM seemed to help out a lot. Further, if you want, you can disable hibernation and delete sleep image. I realize that most that run a Mac don't expect to do any tweaking, and hopefully Apple will come out with a SP soon that 'fixes' some of the issues that many are having. I don't think having 2GB of memory is the main issue, as many with 8GB of RAM are having the same issue. I did a lot of tweaking and Lion is working as well as Snow Leopard was on my MBA 11" with 2GB of RAM. You can also successfully run monoligual on your MBA, get rid of language packs you don't need and save 1.5GB.

  • Dreamweaver 8 won't launch

This is probably a simple problem, but any help would be
    hugely appreciated.
I've been working successfully in the older DW 8 on a iMac
    20" Dual core, but suddenly
having uplink issues to my server, and when attempting to
    restart, I get a consistent
"...application has quit unexpectedly." Now, I can't even get
the app to launch! With my other Adobe apps, like Illustrator, I
would tend to go and throw out the preferences file, to get a fresh
start, and that would solve it.
Are there similar prefs or ? that should be trashed?
Reinstalling the software got no results...
Thanks for any help that could be offered!...

I am using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 on a PC. A couple days ago, my
DW 8 wouldn't start-up. When I do start it, I get the green opening
banner, but no flashing in small fonts as it loads the various
parts or functions of DW 8. Eventually I have to force close
(right-click on tab>Close on tab at the bottom of my screen) or
do a Ctrl+ALT+Delete. Sometimes if I wait, after SEVERAL minutes,
DW starts. I don't know how reliable it is though when it does
    start.
I don't know what happened or changed. I saw online somewhere
that if I go in and make a copy of the 'Configuration' folder of
DW, then delete the old 'Configuation' folder, when DW restarts, it
will make a new 'Configuration' folder. I did that and it works
great, but I have to reset my palettes, which is fine.
But I also noticed that ALL my DW extensions are turned off
in 'Extension Manager'. So I go through them all and turn them all
on. Now my DW is back to hanging and not restarting. I tried just
loading a couple extensions I really need and it still starts
properly, then I turn on another one and it's back to hanging.
This is really frustrating and I really need to get some work
done. Help!!! What do I do so I can get DW 8 up and running again
with ALL my extensions like it was for many months/years???
Please get back to me ASAP. You can send e-mail response to
    wildbarry[at]shaw[dot]ca. Thanx
    Barry
