Dreamweaver cs2

I have paid an expensive webdesign course certified by adobe.
Am i entitled to get dreamweaver cs2, or any other product, for free?

I have never heard of Adobe software coming free with a course. And Dreamweaver CS2 is pretty old. Current version is CS6.
Perhaps you are thinking of this article which was updated to correctly state:
Adobe has not officially released the CS2 software for free. Instead, it has canceled its CS2 license management servers because of a technical glitch, so for those with existing licenses it is now offering downloads that do not require contact with the licensing servers. While Adobe admits this may be seen as it giving its software away for free, this service is intended for those with existing Adobe CS2 licenses.

  • Dreamweaver CS2 & CS3 Standard Vorlagen

    Hallo zusammen.

    prescott,
Many of us deal with printers, clients and publishers who "only" have a previous version of our apps. That doesn't mean that we have to be hampered by that. You can keep your old version installed under Mac OS X 10.4.11 and still have CS4 installed.
You can save many file types in CS4 that are fully compatible with older versions of software -- unless the files include features that did not exist in the older versions. And as Buko says, PDFs are generally immune to platform and version issues.

  • Dreamweaver CS2 stopped putting files

Dreamweaver CS2 (Toshiba, XP Home) stopped putting files
using either up-arrow or Ctrl+Shift+U put command. After both
repair, then uninstall-reinstall, same symptoms. Deleting or
renaming remote file on server in side-by-side view, followed by
drag-drop of modified file does upload, but any attempt to upload
with overwrite is failing...without error message. The dialog
appears, disappears normally...but nothing happened on the server
(godaddy...they checked their end to be sure). Referring to common
    HTML, JS text files, etc.
    Suggestions anyone?
    Thanks, Doug ([email protected])

It's a common problem that people run into with FTP issues.
Unfortunately, rather than walking someone through the steps it is
easier just to point point people to the KB articles they need
because sometimes files or preferences get corrupted and they just
need to be fixed which was obviously the case that there was an
issue with the site preferences not working.

  • Want to download Dreamweaver CS2 ver 8.1 Could be Adobe Dreamweaver cs2

I have a copy of Macromedia Studio 8 with Dreamweaver 8 Running on Windows 7.  At the time Adobe Released Adobe CS2 Web bundle, and sent me a copy of Dreamweaver 8.1.  I would now like to download it and run it.  Any suggestions?

If you currently have DW8, you can get the 8.0.2 updater from the link below which contained some more bug fixes.  Adobe did bundle Macromedia 8 with the first set of bug fixes (8.0.1) along with Acrobat 8 and  called it CS2.  IMO, just more product naming confusion.  DW8 is still just DW8.
Adobe - Dreamweaver Support Center : Updaters
That said, I don't know how well DW8 will run on modern operating systems as it was never designed for them.  But you can give it a shot.

    Hi all,
Sorry to hear of the problem some of you are facing.
The original poster mentioned that clearing the Dreamweaver cache file seemed to help.
See this FAQ (as mentioned above by David) for instructions to re-create the cache file: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2260933
If that doesn't help, John's suggestion is definitely a good step. Submissions to the bug report form go right to our engineering team for review.
If you have not submitted the details of how/when the crash occurs, and any other applicable details, please use that form to do so.
    If you have, thank you!
If you are hoping to get some help in solving it more immediately, please post here the same details you sent via the form (i.e. the specific steps taken to reproduce the issue) and any files or other information necessary to help us reproduce the issue.
If we can reproduce the issue, as David said, it makes it much easier to find the cause and get it fixed. If we can't reproduce, then likely it would just be a matter of identifying what on your computer or server is causing the issue. Either way, we will be able to work together to resolve the issue.
    Kind regards,

  • Publish to the web in dreamweaver cs2

I am very new to building web pages and I thought I would
learn in dreamweaver. I am baffled from reading some of this techy
stuff in the books that I bought. I need someone who speaks regular
english to explain how I publish what I have designed, to the web.
    Thanks

This might provide a good starting point:
    http://www.peachpit.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=0321430840&rl=1
As to plain English vs. techy stuff, well without learning a
    some of what
you call techy stuff you will be very limited as to what you
    can do. IMO
anyone may be able to create a website but not everyone can
    create a
    worthwhile website.

  • Dreamweaver CS2 - Photos changing on the site each time you visit

Does anyone know how to do this, and can it be done in Dreamweaver? There is a photo that is used on a site when you first visit it, the next time you visit it is a different photo each time you visit. Can someone tell me how this is done?
    Thanks.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 vs CS2 regarding css style sheets

Has anyone noticed a difference in Dreamweaver CS2 vs CS3
regarding stylesheets and publication? What I mean is, DW-CS2 shows
my page in layout form with the attached stylesheet and the pages
look fine and publish fine. When I close DW-CS2 and open DW-CS3 and
open up the same files they look as though the stylesheet is not
attached to the file and when you publish the file it is showing
messed up without noticing the stylesheet is attached. (<link
    rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all"
    href="includes/xxx.css" />). I've tried various ways of
attaching the stylesheets and even let DW create the link, but they
continue to not work or publish correctly in DW-CS3 and I have to
close down and open up CS2 to view the files correctly and
republish them to make them look the way they did. Basically,
currenlty I can not use DW-CS3 for stylesheet related designs. Does
anyone know of this being a bug? Is there a fix? Could it be
something else? Have you had this problem? Thanks!

Only that DWCS3 renders CSS-based pages better than DW8 did
    (I assume that's
    what you mean by CS2).

  • Dreamweaver Flash Buttons Paths

    Hello all,
I am a novice site designer. My first challenge is to design a navigation bar once and used by all web pages.  I built it using Flash buttons.  The concept works fine in a flat file, but when I'm viewing a web page that sits in a different directory than the flash navigation buttons, the buttons point to a file in the current directory which doesn't exist. I want the buttons to still point to the flash files in the parent directory.
I'm using Dreamweaver CS2 to create my flash buttons. I'm using PHP include statements to include my flash navigation bar. When I create the php file in another directory, click on flash button, all heck breaks loose. I look at the URL and the link appends the PHP file that the flash button should be pointing to whatever directory my current web page is in.
It seems like, I should just create each button  as a absolute path, http://rootdirectory.com/filename.php, but it still uses relative path when I'm looking at web page that sits in another directory and appends the navigation link to the current directory http://rootdirectory.com/currentdirectory/filename.php although it points to a link in the root or parent directory.
Do I not know how to create flash buttons using the absolute paths?

If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    2. Search engines don't parse Flash links - your site will
    not be spidered
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what
    will those users
    do?
    4. DW cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do?
It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons...
Adding in frames makes it even worse - you are in the deep
    stuff here. Why
    are you using frames?

  • My dreamweaver  2 websote is not compatible with my windows 7 computer.

I am ulnable to make changes to mhy website becauseit was designed usilng dreamweaver  2. and my new computer has windows 7 .My old computer had windows xp but that computer no longer works.. I had no problem accessing dreamweaver 2 with windows xp
Every solution that I have heard about  is very expensive or very  hard to do.
So far, the solutions that have heard about  are:
    1. hire someone to redesign my entire website using  a  much later edition of dreamweaver
    2. take windows xp off my old computer  and install it on my new computer
    3. Buy a widows xp  cd and install it on my new computer
    3. Buy a windows xp computer and use it instead of my windows 7 computer
4 buy a windows xp computer and hook it and my windows 7 computer to the same monitor. The suggested techniques for doing this involve any of the following:
           A. get a vga signal splitter and reverse it using gender changer. or
B.Best Buy suggested using a  KVM switch
I am non-technical and will have to hire all of this to be done. Cost is very important.

There are 2 things you could try.
The first (which is unlikely to work, but simple) is to try running Dreamweaver in "compatIbility mode". To do this, right click the shortcut to Dreamweaver, select 'Properties' and then on one of the tabs (I forget which) there should be the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for". Select Windows XP (doesn't matter which SP you choose) and then try starting it again.
The second thing you can do is use the new Windows 7 XP Mode. Basically this runs a virtual XP machine and gives you a (free) copy of Windows XP within Windows 7. You can get this from Microsoft here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
Once that is installed, install Dreamweaver on the XP it loads on your computer.
If either of these solutions aren't to your liking then either get a new Dreamweaver (which should have no problem reading your old site) or, as this is considerably expensive, consider an open source alternative (open source being free).
There are many alternatives available, Google "Dreamweaver open source alternative" for a selection, but one I've liked in the past is Bluefish:
    http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/index.html
Although these options don't match the features of current versions of Dreamweaver, they are probably quite comparable to Dreamweaver 2 and most likely greatly surpass it (unless of course you're meaning Dreamweaver CS2).

  • Mac or pc for dreamweaver web design?

So just wondering anyone better to do this would think pc
since most users visiting the site are pc based? Im using at work a
mac for designing a new website using cs3, I test the files on a
outdated pc to see how the files work and look....... I cant upload
anything since when its done i have to pass the files to the owner
to upload the pages since im not allowed access to it.....

    Sage advice. I would concur.

  • Snippets: CS3 vs CS2

We're just moving up to CS3 from CS2.
In CS2, when I placed a snippet it was automatically placed in the position where it was when created. In CS3, I get a loaded cursor that wants me to click. In looking at InDesign help, I found there is a new preference under "file handling" that I THOUGHT would help, but it does not. I changed the preference setting to "position at original location", but I still have to click for the snippet to place.
I know it seems like it's not a big deal, but we have a script that places a snippet (among doing other things) and I really don't want it to stop for the user to click. They're used to things just showing up where they're supposed to be.
Is there another preference setting I'm missing?

  • Dreamweaver 8. missing image elements on upload

i created my whole site in photoshop CS2 and "save for web"
over to dreamweaver CS2. only on the home page...when i preview the
site in dreamweaver there is no problem, but when i upload the site
to the remote server it appears to be missing some image files, so
it randomizes the images that are there (redwoodbaptist.org) any
    help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! What a mess. You're simply paying the price for trying
    to build a web
page in a graphics app. The HTML graphics apps create is
    messy and fragile.
Plus it looks like you mucked about with it once you got it
    into DW. I see
image pieces that have been resized in DW, stretched and
    squeezed and maybe
in doing so you rearranged some of the. Rest assured DW
    didn't "randomize"
    your image slices.
The only to ever have a worthwhile site is to start over and
    do it right.
Use text for text and export only images from Photoshop.
    Create all HTML in
    DW.

  • OT: Transitioning to Dreamweaver CC - Read this first.

    Hi all,
Just to make sure that I have you covered for this release, go through my notes before you complete installing Dreamweaver CC.
<Getting started tutorials for free! http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/learn/start/dreamweaver.html
There have been many changes to menu options and the user interface in this release. Do not get worked up if you don't see your options in their usual places. The document http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/the-new-modernized-dreamweaver-cc.html contains a list of all changes to DW CC.
I have created these notes over discussions I have had in the past few days. If you find anything that is incorrect or misleading, please bring it to my notice.
Read the system requirements for the update:
    http://www.adobe.com/in/products/dreamweaver/tech-specs.html
Read the new features in this release
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/topics.html
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver.html
Perpetual license holders that have upgraded to the cloud
You do not have to uninstall your CS6 applications unless you are running short of system requirements. You will, however, have to reinstall all your plug-ins for the CC applications.
If you are uninstalling, ensure that you run the uninstaller instead of any shortcut options available. If you are having problems installing your software after an uninstall, retry after using the Cleanup tool http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
When you open the Adobe Application manager, you will be asked to install the Creative Cloud application. Install the software before you start installing your applications. If you are having problems installing, close and re-open your browser, or clear your browser cache. For more information on the CC application, see http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-desktop.html.
After the Desktop CC application is installed, proceed to install your applications as required. Ensure that you fulfill the system requirements for each software before install.
Before you call support for any help, see http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/topics/getting-started.html. It would be a good idea to post your query on the Downloading, installing, and setting up forum (http://forums.adobe.com/community/download_install_setup). Other users will probably be up and running the same time as you do, and they might be able to offer solutions.
For existing Creative Cloud users that are updating
DO NOT use Help > Update to install your applications. There is no harm in doing so, but that route will not help you install our new CC desktop application manager.
Open your Adobe Application Manager. You will be asked to install the CC desktop application. Complete installing the CC desktop application before you proceed. If you are having problems installing, close and re-open your browser, or clear your browser cache.  For more information, see http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-desktop.html.
Update your software as required from the list in the application.
If you have uninstalled any software previously, and your update isn't installing, run the Cleanup tool and retry http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
If you have not updated any previously installed CS6 application that is still present on your computer, you could be asked to update the CS6 version as well. Do not get confused or worried.
I will be hearing you through the next few days, and will be reporting from the various social platforms. While I am sure that most of you will sail smoothly, I will try to guide the rest over any rough waters.
    Thanks,
    Preran

    Hi Preran!
    Thanks, I answer You - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5434454#5434454
and can repeat - this is not a answer, not answer what Users wait :-)
This is time for look arround for Adobe alternative.
We have cheap but great altenative for Photoshop, Ilustrator, now time for Dreamweaver
On business courses very popular stories about product killer - they always start from cheap, not full desision and always kill "leaders" who's not thinking about Users. May be now time for Adobe management - re-study some busines theory? Now Your leader ... Yes, but for how many Years?
I have several subscription products, all of them - or much. much cheaper, or have Exit strategy, when I stop subscription.
It's look very good - "Just" 60-70 EUR for ALL product, but I don.t need Premier or other ...

  • Tags in CS3 not displaying correctly

I have pages that displayed correctly in Dreamweaver CS2. In
CS3, the design view is not displaying properly.
For example, if the tag is this: <p class="Body">,
design view is not showing the page properly. If I reapply the CSS
    style, CS3 inserts this: <p spry:hover="Body" class="Body">,
    and the page displays properly.
Please tell me how to NOT use Spry and still get my pages to
display correctly in design view. Thanks.
