Dreamweaver CS3 Locks Up In Vista 32 bit
After installing DWRCS3 in Vista Home Premium, my formerly
operational program (in XP) now locks up in Vista.
The program opens, will fetch pages from the server - but,
when any part of the page (pictures or text) is selected, the
program stops responding.
A second click white screens the page. CTRL+ALT+DEL and we're
out.
This is happening repeatedly.
What's up?
Any fixes for this?
My website, business and income await a reply.
Thanks for any help.
I looked around for a bit but couldn't find any posts - or web pages on the main site for that matter that actually addresses the locking up issues that Dreamweaver is having.
I mean there's plenty of users complaining about it (like this guy), i'm just not sure any actual people work at Adobe, just CusSer robots, btw I'm actually looking for user suggestions as Dreamweaver has no ******* idea what's wrong with it's own program - nor give off the attitude that they care.
How about just stripping the whole damn thing down and start over, you know like a Chrome version - you know, so that when you accidentally input the wrong image path it doesn't take 18 minutes to kill the process without having to control alt delete - what the hell is it doing, not just with that but with everything it does, what's all the unneccesary background noise constantly, what the hell is this program doing on my server when I connect that is so damn intensive it can't let go long enough to listen to the guy telling it what the hell to do.
I'm really just ******** because I already know there isn't an answer - I'm moving from my love hate relationship with adobe into just straight up hate.
No reply necessay - I've already replaced most of my web design tools, not because I wanted more from web developer tools, but simply because I didn't want to think about how much money i am wasting of my employer having to spend 3 hours on a support call with no results (EVER) I've made a few too, and sitting here tinkering with buggy **** ALL day.
Damn.

Dreamweaver CS3 vs. Windows Vista
SO! I am almost thoroughly disgusted with this program. I am
in an online based web design class for college and now that we are
within the last few weeks of class they teacher has asked us to
install a free 30-day trial of Dreamweaver CS3 for out final
project. I downloaded it the first time with no problems, ran the
installation process, then when I went to open the program itself
it gave me this:
"You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair
the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or
contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for
help."
After you click "ok" on the prompt, Dreamweaver still makes
an attempt to open itself, but once it goes to a blank workspace,
it shuts itself down completely!
So I did what it asked, and ran into the same problem again.
I have already done the command prompt and run as
administrator with the code that I found on the adobe
troubleshooting website.
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could let me know
what is going on here. So, have you contacted Adobe Customer support? You realise
these forums are
user to user, and Adobe employees only drop in now and then.
That said, there are many people who have your setup running
smoothly, so
don't be too disheartened - someone will have a suggestion or
two which may
help shortly.

I just bought CS3 and I am very satisfied with it except for
DW. The problem is that on some pages on my local websites when I
switch from code to design view, DW locks up for about 20 seconds
and then renders the page. I had NO problems whatsoever on these
pages before with MX2004 when it was using Rosetta to emulate DW.
That is why it is strange, I would expect for it to be MUCH faster
now. Just FYI, I am on a Mac.
Does anyone else have this problem? Do you know a solution to
this?
This is driving me crazy. Please help!
AlexHi Andy
I sent you an e-mail on April 30. I just re-sent it. Please
see if you got
it.
We have been able to reproduce some of these Mac performance
issues. It's
specific to Intel Macs and only occurs with some files and
some sites. It
seems to mainly affect pages with several images. It also
occurs if you're
local root folder is on a remote machine. A TechNote will be
posted soon.
We're trying to gather customer files to make sure we're
seeing all of the
different variants of this.
Since you're not located in North America, I'm going to have
someone in the
UK tech support office investigate your tech support
incident.
Thanks,

Does Dreamweaver CS3 work with 64 bit version of Windows 7?
Windows 7, 64 bit, Home Premium was clean installed. I had no difficulty reinstalling Dreamweaver CS3, but when I try to open a file I get a message that says." A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Apparently none is. So my question is, does Dreamweaver CS3 work with the 64 bit version of Windows 7? If not, does CS4 work or would I be wasting money by upgrading?
I just installed it and ran it fine. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Make sure it is a clean install from a fresh "boot". I ran into problems the first time when I tried to install it right after I installed another program. I simply uninstalled it.....which took a long long time, but after it was removed and I rebooted, everything went fine.

Dreamweaver CS3 crashing when importing site settings
Hi,
I've installed a copy of Dreamweaver CS3 on a new Vista 64-bit machine. I've tried to import .ste files pertaining to some sites which I copied over from my old computer (where things were slow but working). When I import the .ste files, it brings in the settings, but as soon as I click on "done", Dreamweaver crashes. I've tried this on a couple of sites now, and still the same crash at the same point.
How do I get this working?
Thanks,

BillI kept getting similar crashes with Dreamweaver too. Sorry
you didn't get an answer sooner, though. I think that the DST may
be irrelevant but removing the WinFile cache file seemed to work

Dreamweaver CS3 hangs on "initializing files" in Windows Vista Home Premium
Hi,
Anybody else encountering this issue? I noticed this7 error

Necessary Troubleshooting steps we’re already done to

Cannot install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista
I'm running a desktop PC with Windows Vista Premium. I had
Dreamweaver 8 installed and want to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS3. So
I uninstalled Dreamweaver 8 and ran the setup for CS3. After the
setup extracted all he necessary setup files I saw a message saying
"initializing setup" and then...nothing. Setup just quit. I tried
several times. I've never installed any of the CS3 beta
versions...but I ran the CS3 cleanup anyway. No luck. Searched the
registry for any extra Dreamweaver entries. Nothing. The only Adobe
software I have installed is Acrobat 8 Pro and Photoshop CS2. Just
can't get Dreamweaver CS3 to install. Any ideas?See if this helps:

Search for the post by gorodek about modifying the
ContainerProxy.js file.
It seems to have solved the problem for several Photoshop
users, and it's
solved the problem for some DW users as well.
Hope this helps,

Dreamweaver CS3 Install on Vista Home Prem
Hi there
I have just got a new laptop with Vista Home Premium
installed and I have attempted to install Dreamweaver CS3. The
first day it seemed to work fine until I got a message stating that
registration had failed catestrophically. It then shut down and I
was unable to run it since.
I have uninstalled the program, checked that all previous
installs had been unregistered and Installed again.
When I double click to run the application I get the little
circle icon that I guess replaces the egg timer in vista but then
after a second or two it disapears and nothing happens.
I have tried to uninstal, repair the installation but to no
avail. I even tried setting the clock to before the time change
last month as that caused an issue on the XP install on the old
computer but nothing seems to work - does anyone have any
ideas?????
I have had a look around the forums but not really came up
with anything.
Thanks in advanceThanks SnakEyez02 .
The Windows restore said that it failed the two times that I
tried it. But after doing this I tried Dreamweaver again and it
seems to be working. The registration has failed again however I am
able to use it. Hopefully one time it wil let the registration
complete.
Thanks for your help.

Dreamweaver CS3 in Vista 64 and Windows 7
I am running Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista 64 and Windows 7 Pro for about 2 months now.
When I go to set up a new Site Definition and select a Local root folder, I find I have to go down an extra directory in order to get Dreamweaver to select the directory I want as root. (example: have to select the image directory).
Windows 7 is out officially now, I wonder if this problem has been fix in CS4, and how CS4 preforms on Windows 7.
I have been hodling off upgrading to CS4 for a year now, since Adobe has not make any statements about Windows 7 support. If adobe has release some statements, can someone point me to the statement?
What is the possible release schedule for CS5, I am thinking May 2010?

That's as good as anyone else's guess.
CS: Sep 2003
CS2: April 2005 (19 months)
CS3: April 2007 (24 months)
CS4: Oct 2008 (19 months)
CS5: May 2010 would be 19 months - but only Adobe knows the real date. -
I buyed a copy of Dreamweaver cs3 with OS Vista, but when I
try to load the program, since the first time I tried, it remains
on "Inizializiong Files", until I stop the process. What can I
do?Maybe someone else can help you out with this because you are
going to need to do the following steps and I just don't know where
the log file is saved on the Windows side:
1. Get the log file that the installer makes
2. Come back to this website and click on Your Account at the
top of the screen.
3. Log in and click on Customer Support Portal
4. Open up a support ticket. When you do there should be a
way to upload a file to their FTP server for them to evaluate.
Follow their steps exactly and upload your log file (it would be a
good idea to rename your log file with at least your username).
Then once you have done that wait for a response. They will
be able to tell you exactly where the installer is failing by
looking at the logs. It normally takes about 1-3 business days for
them to respond though. It might not be as quick as a phone call,
but if they don't know where the problem is, it is best to give
them as much information as possible. -
Vista-64 CS 3, all install but Dreamweaver cs3 and Encore
Hi My OS is Vista-64,
I'm trying to install the Creative suite 3 master collection.
All installs fine, except Dreamweaver cs3 and adobe Encore cs3. I get the same reason
"Component install failed"
Any ideas what i should do?Temprorarily disable UAC (Universal Account Countrol). Also, temprorarily diable your Anti-Virus app. This may then solve your install issues on Win Vista 64. It worked for me...

No. They're not certified for 64-bit versions.
