Dreamweaver CS3 won't install on eMac

I installed the Adobe Creative Suite CS3 but Dreamweaver won't install. I have an eMacPowerPC G4. Why does it always unsuccessfully install? I'm installing from my employer's DVD which is licensed for employees to install for home use.

You might have better luck if you take up this question in Adobe's own forums:

Good luck.

  • INDesign CS3 won't install

I've been searching threads for days now and nothing i try works
I am trying to install CS3 on a G5 Mac, OSX 10.4.11. I have CS on this computer, tried the CS4 trial, decided to stay with CS3 which I am had on a deceased computer that din't have any Adobe on it except things like reader, and whatever comes with the Mac OS. When I try to load, I get everything but INDesign won't install. Tried multiple time, tried it on another computer (a G4) with similar history and the same result. I've done an uninstall on INDD4, I've cleaned preference files, tossed Colorsync profiles. At first, when I tried to install i would get an message asking for theINDD4 disk. I got rid of that when I dumped the color sync files. and now it installs everything except INDD. I'm afraid to try the clean script.
    What do you suggest?

    Hi Mylenium
After updating the adobe license didn´t work any longer for the
second time, since I bought. First time CS3 cleaning tool was the
solution. But this time it is not possible just to open the
CS3cleaning tool document(PDF)- not with adobe reader, also not with
foxit for example. I removed all adobe stuff to install again, but
installation doesn´t work for  the important components- photoshop
etc. At first also adobe reader didn´t work (System told me, to
install photoshop before:-) But after some deinstallation and
reinstallation now just the new downloaded adobe reader X happily
works again. Only solution to reinstall the whole system?? (medion
professional PC, windows vista 5,0 - 2 GB, 32 Bit)
         Thank you for help

  • Premiere CS3 Won't Install

I'm finishing the build from Hades. I followed the Matrox system recommendations, apparently they had an easier time than I did. I finally resolved my issues with my video card, now Premiere and Encore won't install!
System Info: Tyan Tempest 5400 (socket 771) motherboard, two Xeon Quad core E5450 CPUs, one ATI Radeon Sapphire HD 3870 1 gig on-board ram, two 2 gig FB DIMM 667 RAM sticks. Software version Premiere Pro CS3.
I'm fairly certain I've met the minimum system requirements - I followed one of Matrox's highest system builds (at the time). The version of XP I bought already had Service Pack 2. As far as I can tell, I've loaded all my drivers. I have two separate 1 TB drives (7200 RPM). My DirectX version is 9.
The install process for both Premeire and Encore appear to proceed normally. The summary screen simply notes:
    "Successfully installed 2 component(s):
Adobe Preiere Pro CS3 Third Party Content
    Shared components
    Errors: 2 component(s):
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
    Component install failed
    Shared components
    Component install failed"
I bought my RTX2 last summer, but building my house, technical diffulties with my system and my mother's death delayed getting this unit assembled.
I tried uninstalling using add/remove programs, with the same results.  I also tried using two different DVD drives.
I started a post on the Matrox forum site.  It looks like I have them stumped...
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

OK, you've got a "clean system," and I assume that you have not had a "trial" version of CS3 installed on it, right?
I'm going to throw out some ideas on Adobe program installation. These are distilled from various Adobe fora. Some might NOT apply to PrPro, but many might.
1.) download and install the lastet Adobe Flash Player (some Adobe programs need it to install properly)
2.) download and install the latest Apple QT Player (some PC users get by just fine without it, but a few Adobe programs want to see it.
3.) download and install the latest video and audio drivers. Update any firmware.
4.) turn OFF ALL anti-virus, spyware and pop-up blockers (including any in IE, if you have it, or any other browser). Also turn off
         Windows Messenger and Windows Indexing.
5.) make sure that you are logged-in as an Administrator
6.) as you got an installation error, I would Remove both Adobe programs (Add/Remove Programs) and also run Adobe's CleanScript. I think that
this might be better than doing a Repair Install, though you can certainly try it first.
7.) if it still fails, try an installation from a Safe Mode boot. I *think* that this will only work for PS and Illustrator, and NOT for PrPro.
8.) if it still fails, and I hate to even suggest this - remove the Matrox card and all drivers, and try again. Given your efforts to get the box up and
running WITH the Matrox, I'd use this as a total "last resort."
Good luck, and I hope that something, prior to #8 works for you,

  • My Dreamweaver CS3 Won't Open

I had to do a System Restore on my Windows Vista, Home Premium PC. Ever since I did that, when I try to open Dreamweaver CS3 I get this...
When I hit OK, it just closes the program. So basically, there's no way I can use Dreamweaver now. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a restore issue.  Could be anything from a registry entry that got modified and is causing issues to just about anything.  Best bet is to run the clean utility and start a fresh install of CS3.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html
Just ignore the name in the link.  As of CS5 they combined the utility into one and it works for CS3-CS5.

  • Adobe cs3 won't install on Windows 7(32-bit)!

A friend of mine finally convinced me to install Windows 7, and he had good reason to. This OS really lives up to the hype thats been going on...but, Im having trouble installing an ESSENTIAL program(s) to this great OS, Adobe CS3 Design Premium. I installed Windows 7 (32-bit) from a DVD, with the product key, which I think is the "clean install" Ive been hearing about. I read something that says Windows 7 doesn't recognize a certain file associated with Cs3, maybe thats why it wont load. I attached a screen shot of my system specs, if it helps. But this is what happened.
    - When I insert the software DVD, the autoplay feature pops up, then Windows "User Account Control" asks me if I want to allow the changes.
    - I click "Yes," and then the "Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium" window pops up and gives me the option to: Install CS3 Design Premium; Install Adobe Acrobat 8; and Browse CD.
    - I choose "Install CS3" and then a window "Initializing Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium" with a progress bar.
    - The bar fills up, but when it finishes nothing happens.
I checked the tasked manager and see that, that adobe setup.exe is running somehow, but nothing happens. I have search on Adobe forums and google for possible solutions, but nothing has worked so far. I have tried:
    - Runnning the setup application from the DVD (in Adobe Design Premium CS3 folder) as "Administrator"
    - Ran "wincs3clean," to remove any existing adobe programs from the system.
    - Ran ccleaner, to fix/repair any registry problems or anything else.
    - Tried copying the content of the DVD onto the desktop and run it as Admin.
    - Used the command.exe (as admin) and ran the "regsvr32 jscript.dll" and "regsvr32 vb(something)"
    - Ran Windows 7 in "simplified" mode, where I disabled any services/processes from interferring with the setup, through the msconfig feature.
    - Cleared the Windows temporary files, as this was a solution for Vista, I thought might work.
    - Tried updating my drivers, everything was uptodate.
    - Called Adobe Technical support, waited about 30 mins, and then was told "Adobe does not support Windows 7, so the install may or maynot work." (They could help if they wanted to).
    - Tried restarting in a previous version, to see if it would install, but the admin password that I had before isnt working now for some reason.
Ive seen reports of people having Adobe CS3 installed on Windows 7 and working fine, so I know its possible. Its just frustrating that I cant get it to work. Somebody (bodies), please help me. Let me know if there is any other info needed. Ive struggling with this for some time now.
    Thanks A-Mil in advance,
    Gary D.

i am having very similar issues and after working on this for days i'm ready to trash all Adobe products..   i've been in DP for 35 years and have never had this much trouble with anything - ever.
i migrated to a new machine using windows 7 from and XP machine.  i used PCmover to port applications and all are working just fine except my Adobe CS3 products.   When i try to open them i get some sort of message about catastophic licensing problem and the product immediately closes.  i'd detail the error but it's only up for about  4 milliseconds before it disappears.
so i tried reinstalling CS3 and it loads the autoplay just fine and then i click on 'install adobe cs3' icon and see the progress bar moving for about 2 secons and then that disappears and then NOTHING.
so i found suggestions about using the CS5 cleaner tool and ran that bout it didn't even find the application..
so i went to control panel and clicked on 'uninstall' for CS3 and it seems run for about 3 seconds and then NOTHING..
so i installed a windows cleanup tool that was recommended but that's been retired by Microsoft because it caused other problems so i didn't run it..
short of formatting my hard drive and starting over installing over 50 apps on my new computer, i'm at a loss and so extremely frustrated with Adobe that i am willing to learn another set of programs to replace them and to tell the world.

  • Adobe CS3 won't install - could classic be an issue?

I had forgotten I even had classic until this morning on the phone with Adobe Tech Support. Problem is: Adobe CS3 will not install. My case now has been escalated to Tech Level 3, and I am awaiting that call. In other words, many fixes have been tried already, including a new disk Fed-Xed here. Anyway, I was just thinking.... what if some small component of Classic is causing this problem? I absolutely do not need it. If one of you wonderful experts thinks this might be it, I also would need to know how to uninstall it. (All the other questions in this forum seem to be how to make it work.) Thanks for reading.
PS The reason I thought of this was the Adobe Tech (Level 2) guy had me check every font to make sure none were locked. (None were.) We also repaired permissions and did the CS3Clean script several times at the Level 4. (I have to do all this all over again every time I try to install and it fails.)

For the record, this was the solution: Leopard was installed (clean) on this computer, and CS3 still wouldn't install. An Apple certified person tried many things after that. Spent about 8 hours and was about to give up. The idea that finally worked was to install the suite on a different hard drive and then "migrate" it to my hard drive (whatever migrate means). It was a truly horribly experience, and I am not anxious to do business with Adobe again.

  • Onlocation CS3 won't install on Vista 64

i have ppcs3. it came with encore and onlocation.
when i try to open onlocation it tells me that the program has stopped working.
    any ideas?

Well I have same problem. I know photoshop has never been the most user friendly bit of software but what good is it if you can't install it?
The dialog with the progress bar appears for about 5 seconds and then absolutly nothing more. I am the laptop's admin. It had the majority of it's 320GB HD available. 4GB of memory and a very good display.
I certainly won't be paying good money for something that won't install on a brand new machine.
The most annoying thing about the whole thing is there isn't even an error message to indicate why the process was aborted.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 won't run with OS 10.9

How can I use Dreamweaver CS3 with OS 10.9?

You can't. Or at least, you shouldn't.
I'm pretty sure CS3 would require "Rosetta" which Mac OS X hasn't supported since Snow Leopard (OS 10.6)
It ran on some of the early Intel Macs, but you should be using CS4 or newer with Mavericks and a 64 bit Intel Mac.

  • Flash CS3 Won't Install

Okay... I seriously am in need of help here. I have
downloaded the trial version of Adobe Flash CS3, and for some
reason when I run the installer it didn't install it right. At
first when I installed this, the program seemed to be in place, but
when I tried to start it, I got an error message saying that I need
to repair it by uninstalling/reinstalling the program... The whole
message escapes me at the moment...
Anyways I tried to uninstall it and apperantly it still shows
on the Add/Remove Programs list. It won't allow me to uninstall it.
The installer doesn't work anymore. I try to use the setup.exe
program and it shows a new little window with a progress bar at the
top right corner of my screen.
    The
    Window
After this window finished loading it closes but the
installer never opens... I've tried many things posted on this
    forum, including:
    -Removing Flash 8 Player
    -Making a New Account
    -Checking for duplicate color profiles
and nothing worked! Please help me... I have no other CS3
programs, running on Windows XP, and I have admin account.

Okay... I'm becoming extremely upset and impatient with
Adobe. I cannot install this download of the free trial for Flash
if it were to save my life...
I have tried changing permissions to my registry keys,
installing in Safe Mode (the installer didn't allow me to install
in safe mode), installing in VGA mode (which was much harder than I
think installing anything should have been, not being able to see
the buttons to carry on and having to click Tab and hoping u have
selected "Next"), installing it while turning off every single
application except for the Windows ones, running the Adobe CS3
cleanup script, defragmenting my disk, and even trying System
    Restore...
So far nothing has worked... For some reason that installer
window will NOT appear. The progress bar mentioned in my first post
shows up, but after it finishes loading it disappears and I never
see the installation screen, no warning, error message, or
anything. My computer carries on idly...
Please... Some please help me. If you know of something which
I have not tried yet please tell me. There is no way I'm going to
buy Flash if I can't even install the free trial... I might as well
try to get Flash 8 somewhere or maybe even try to find a freeware
program with similar capabilities... I cannot stress how
dissapointed I am right now and I hope no one else has to go
through such hassles during their installations.
    Again, someone, PLEASE help me.
I do not believe the problem is in my computer... I have run
a virus scan and I have nothing infected. I have seen the window
before on the first time I tried to install Flash, but the download
was corrupted and I had to uninstall it... I never saw that window
    again...
Please... help... me... I've lost so much of my time trying
    to install this program...

  • Photoshop CS3 won't install from disk

I have an HP with Windows XP service pack 2 OS. Exceeds all of the requirements to run CS3. Just purchased CS3. When I install the DVD, it will not launch. When I try and run setup from the Adobe CS3 folder, I get an error message as follows; Adobe CS3\setup.exe is not a valid win32 application. This DVD is marked Windows. So I'm dead in the water, can't get out of the gate.
    Anyone have some ideas ?

    ACTUALLY:
This Ahmbed file came WITH the file I downloaded here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?loc=en%5Fus&product=indesign
    The archive file, called
    ADBEPHSPCS3_WWE.exe is 463 MB->
By running the EXE the installer package Extracts the CS3 Installer to where you point it on your hard drive:
Here is the TREE from where I installed it to- I dont know if your OSX has a Tree command like this, but Windows DOES:
    C:\DOWNLOAD\Adobe CS3\Photoshop>tree /f
Folder PATH listing for volume VistS__t-PC
Volume serial number is 0015F688 88B7:8570

    C:\DOWNLOAD\Adobe CS3\Photoshop>
Note that if I got this in a Windows version straight from ADOBE- And you guys have it in the MAC version...
And I know where i got it, I downloaded the TRIAL version of CS3 from Adobe. THIS FILE is part of the Adobe Package. DON'T KNOW what it is, but certainly, if you don't like it, you can delete it, like I did, with no Ill effects.
If it IS a virus however, then someone at ADOBE put this thing right into the package.
IT IS NOT A CRACK. A Crack for CS3 is the entire Photoshop.exe file, 43 Megabytes- It is dropped into the Photoshop directory before initially running any part of CS3, then when Photosho.exe is run, it inserts a serial number and activates it, bypassing the flexLM licence manager.
THAT is how a Photochop crack works, one of the cracks I have seen- Others are simply Keygens, like CS2, you perform a Phone Activation, enter the Acvitation code into the keygen, and it spits out the answer code.
THIS little POS file however, is NOT a keygenm and it is NOT an exe that can be dropped into a folder, it is simply extra code left over from installing CS3, and Adobe made it.

  • Bridge CS3 won't install

I just bought a new macbook and decided to do a clean install of all my apps. I installed cs3 premium, and bridge did not install. in fact, there's no reference to it in the installer at all.
what am i doing wrong? is bridge now a download only app?

Bridge should NOT appear separately in the list. There is no option not to install it. If you reinstall Photoshop by itself by isolating it in that list, Bridge should get installed too. If your installation failed, there is something wrong with your setup.
You are dead wrong on your estimation of DiskWarrior. Just do a forum search on the main Photoshop Macintosh forum to see how many users, including the forum host, swear by DiskWarrior.
I have no connection with the folks who make DiskWarrior, and I really couldn't care less if you don't use it.
Whatever you do, DO NOT drag any of the CS3 applications to the trash! You can't do that with CS3 like we could with previous versions. You MUST use the Adobe Uninstaller on the disk or the copy that gets installed in Applications/Utilities/Adobe.
If you have already trashed a CS3 application, you need to download the CS3Clean script and run it. Hope for the best.

  • CS3 won't install completely under OS X 10.6.8

I'm attempting to move CS3 Web Premium from my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8) to my iMac (OS X 10.8.3). When I run the installer on my iMac the following are NOT installed:
    * Flash
    * Illustrator
    * Photoshop
    * Shared Components
    * Create Suite 3 Web Premium
I then went online to the Adobe site and read that I need to deactivate my license before trying to install on another computer. I did this from my MacBook and also uninstalled the suite using Adobe's uninstaller. I've rerun the installer on my iMac but the above applications still do not load.
I've even completely uninstalled CS3 from my iMac, rebooted, and attempted a fresh/clean install. Still no luck.
    Any ideas?

Bob I am afraid that you may also face the same difficulties with CS6.  Adobe applications are not designed to be moved from one computer to another and it is likely that your file permissions on the migrated computer have been compromised due to this action.
If you end up facing installation difficulties with CS6 then please see Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html for information on how to review your installation logs for errors.
In the future please only use the Migration assistant to move over your documents and settings.  You will then want to reinstall your applications, from your installation media, on the new computer/installation.

  • Adobe After Effects CS3 won't install

I have windows XP, and I used to have my version of Adobe After Effects CS3 installed. Then I uninstalled it because it kept crashing, but I forgot to deactivate it before I uninstalled it. Now every time I've tried reinstalling it, the installation goes completely fine until the last step, when it says:
    Summary:
    Successfully installed: 3 component(s):
Adobe After Effects CS3 Template Projects and Footage
Adobe After Effects CS3 Third Party Content
    Shared Components
    Errors: 2 component(s):
    Adobe After Effects CS3
         Component install failed
    Shared components
         component install failed
I don't know how to fix this! I've tried multiple times at reinstalling it but each time without success. I've also ran the installation as administrator, and I've restarted my computer. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks a lot!

Did you correctly uninstall the software? Are there other Adobe programs on the system? Sounds like there are other, newer versions that throw off the install. You need to uninstall those and reinstall them after you have installed CS3. Also simply delete the caps.db in C:\Program Files\Common Fiels\Adobe\caps. And for further diagnosis it might help to have a look at the install logs.

    Hey everyone
I happened to buy a new SATA hard drive (my motherboard is
meant for sata drives.. the ide cables you can tell are only meant
to reach optical drives) as well as reinstall windows.
For the record - I did get a couple strange I/O errors on
bootup with my old drive that are now gone with my new SATA drive.
The install works fine now, so my best guess is that it has
something to do with the drive since both install attempts were
done on fresh installs of vista.
Anyways, thanks for the help... sorry I didn't have a better
solution to my problem since not everyone is going to go buy a new
hdd to fix their install problems lol

  • Dreamweaver CS3 installer aborts install

    Hi,
I have made 3 attempts at instlaling DW CS3, but each time
the installer quits and gives me the message that only the shared
components were installed. My computer meets the requirements for
DW CS3. There are two seemingly strange things about the install
    (1) it takes close to 30 minutes before I get the error message and
    (2) at this time, the progress bar shows about 95% complete, but
then jumps back to about 80% complete, stops and gives me the
mesage about only the shared components being installed.
My questions are: How can I get the trial version installed?
and second, why does the installer take 30 minutes to install just
the shared components? and, third, how can I just install DW
without the shared compoents as I do not need them and why take up
my harddrive space with components that I do not need?
    Thanks,
