Dreamweaver CS4 Stalls at Welcome Screen

When you open Dreamweaver CS4, the Welcome Screen never show up.  You can still work in it, but I have a user who really likes the Welcome Screen.  I have had this issue with Windows 7 in both 64 and 32 bit.  Please advise.

Edit>Preferences>general tab   Check the box that reads "Show Welcome Screen".

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • Dreamweaver CS6 stalls in welcome window

I opened a course selection file on line which proceeded to open up DW. Now when I open DW it stalls in the welcome window. I re-installed, deleted the cache, and renamed the preferences file and nothing has helped. I am running Mavericks 10.9.4. It's driving me crazy.

    Hi eyetoeye,
Can you try the solution in this post?

  • Dreamweaver CS4 makes my fonts go mental?

    I am using a G5 Mac running OSX 10.4.11
I use Extensis Suitcase X1 to managae my fonts
When I open Dreamweaver CS4 it fills my screen with error
messages saying my fonts are failing????
    HELP!
(Every other CS4 programe runs perfect except Dreamweaver!
    :-( which is not good)

Thanks for that but unfortunately that did not resolve the
    problem :-(
This forum is my teams last hope of finding a solution...
I sent in a Customer Support Portal (Case #0180585412) and
the response was a little disappointing basically they say its not
their problem even though they made
    indesign\photoshop\illustrator\flash perfectly with suitcase.
    Response as follows:
"Good day! Thank you for contacting Adobe Asia Pacific
    Support.
In response to your concern, we regret to inform you that our
    support
center does not have the technical expertise to troubleshoot
    on the
concern for we don’t have the Technical Know-How in
    using Suitcase
Extensis for it’s not developed by Adobe. Though the
    problem is
happening on our program Dreamweaver, turning off Suitcase
    Extensis will
not give you the said error and since Adobe recommends
    Extensis Font
Reserve and Extensis Suitcase for font management needs on OS
    X, we must
    refer to Extensis for assistance."
So I take it we will not be seeing a patch anytime soon...

  • Dreamweaver CS5 - Welcome Screen shows CS4!

    Hi,
after upgrading Dreamweaver from CS4 to CS5 the welcome screen insists on identifying itself as CS4. What's going on?
    Win7 64bit
All updates installed. I also tried re-installing DW CS5 to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

CS5 does not actually upgrade CS4.  It just installs a new version alongside CS4.  You could try trashing the prefernces located in the application support folder and restarting DW.  However, only way users here would probably know how to get rid of this is to run the Clean Tool to remove the previous versions, up to and including CS5 and then reinstall CS5.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 Mac - Welcome Screen Is Blank Under Network Account

This is a new installation of Dreamweaver CS4 on a computer running Mac OS X 10.5.7 in a computer lab environment.  All updates have been applied.  Users' home folders are hosted via AFP on a server running Mac OS X Server 10.5.7.  The "welcome screen" window that appears after launching Dreamweaver CS4 is blank for users using network accounts (both admin and non-admin).  The welcome screen appears correctly when launched from within a local accounts (admin or non-admin).  The welcome screen window can be closed and then the application appears to run just fine.  Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution?

Some clues: Apparently, the "welcome screen" is an .swf file located in each user's home directory here:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/en_US/Configuration/Content/Welcome/Flash/welcome.swf
I can open this file in Flash or Flash Player under a network account and it looks just fine, yet it won't load when Dreamweaver CS4 is launched, resulting in a blank, white "welcome screen."
For now, I've decided to push a default preferences file to new users that turns off the welcome screen, but I'd prefer to find a fix. Anyone have any clues?

  • Dreamweaver CC can't remember not to show welcome screen

Dreamweaver CC doesn't seem to remember some settings after being relaunched. For example I can't turn off the welcome screen, it launches everytime I open the application. It also can't remember that I don't want to upload dependent files. I didn't have these issues with CS6.

  • I don't get an option to create new Dreamweaver site on welcome screen in CC. Is there a way to get this?

It's ok I'm following a tutorial on Lynda.com. Its maybe a little out of date, I just went into the Site menu and clicked "New Site". Hey Presto!

    Hello Keith,
if I understand you correctly, you miss this ("neu erstellen") >>> something like create new:
You can get this by using (translated from my German DW) preferences (Voreinstellungen) and there put the tick at "Show welcome screen" (Begrüßungsbildschirm anzeigen):

If you're using an Acer computer, there's a known conflict
    between
Dreamweaver and Acer eDataSecurity Management V3.0. You can
