Dreamweaver CS4 system requirements?

I'm a new owner of Dreamweaver CS4 who would like to install the program on my laptop. But in looking at the minimum system requirements, it says it needs "1,280x800 display with 16-bit video card." I've got the 16-bit card but maximum display resolution is just 1024 x 768. If I install it on this machine, will I just be doing a lot of scrolling? Or is my laptop literally unable to run the program because of its display resolution?
Thanks for your help.

I haven't tried CS4 on a machine with 1024 x 768 resolution, but CS3 had the same minimum requirement, and it worked just fine. The main problem with a small resolution monitor is that the panels on the right overlap the Property inspector. However, with CS4, it shouldn't be a problem if you switch the panels to iconic mode.
As Mylenium says, you can always try it and deactivate the program on your laptop if it's not successful.

  • Question about CS4 system requirements

    Hi!
    I'm very interested to upgrade from Illustrator CS3 to CS4.
    New features are very interesting.
    But I have a question, on web site the system requirements are:
    Windows
    2GHz or faster processor + 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
    I have a notebook with:
    mobile Intel® Centrino eith Intel® Pentium® M 740 - 1,73 GHz + 2GB of RAM
    The problem is: before I buy it, Illustrator will works on my computer or not?
    Thank you very much!

    Most likely not. Centrinos are generally unsupported for a number of CS4 apps, and while Illustrator doesn't seem to use any specific functions that would make this a problem, you may find yourself unable to even install it properly. Of course you can alweays download the trial to find out...

  • Adobe premiere pro cs4 system requirements

    hey anyone can help with adobe premiere pro cs4 ?
    can it installed in windows seven?
    i need the info as soon as possible..
    thx !!

    Hi,
    Premiere Pro CS4 is compatible with 32 and 64 bit windows 7.0. However, Premiere Pro CS5 is compatible with only 64 bit.
    If you purchase CS5 master Collection or Production Premium CS5, you will get CS4 Premiere Pro 32 bit. It means that
    Premiere Pro CS4 will work in Windows 7.0 32 or 64 bit.
    Please refer to this Microsoft link which shows the compatibility of Adobe Products with Windows

    I hope this link is help ful.

    Hi..............I have a new Creative Cloud registration and have bought the new Dreamweaver CC but I cannot seem to down load it? My Creative Cloud has downloaded but not my new Dreamweaver CC?  I currently have the old Dreamweaver CS4 on my system! Can anyone help?

    The first thing you need to do is download and install the Creative Cloud Desktop Application. Then, open that program and click on the Apps tab. You download and install creative cloud applications from there.
    If your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run a given program, it won't show up under the Apps tab.
    Once they are installed, you'll need to go to your Applications folder (Mac) or Program Files (x86) folder (PC) to start the program itself.

  • CS4 Mac system requirements

    I have two conflicting answers and I need the right one.
    The CS4 Master Collection, system requirements say Multicore Intel Processors
    Will it run on a G5 Dual Core with a PPC processor or will it run ONLY on a Dual or Quad Core (MAC PRO)
    plz advize
    rdeter

    Listen! I don't mean to come off nasty but if you opened your eyes and took a look at the CS4 products you WILL see that certain apps work in pre Intel Macs . I'm looking at the list right now.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/systemreqs/?promoid=DRHWS
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/systemreqs/?promoid=DRHXB
    http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/systemreqs/?promoid=DRHWV
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshopextended/systemreqs/?promoid=DRHXHand
    if you look at the Web design Premium and a few other Suites underneath the master suite they all run on PPC G5 pre Intel
    Now my question again, is it possible to run the CS4 Master Suite on A pre Intel Mac? I do not need any other apps except to run except
    Photoshop
    Flash
    Dreamweaver
    and
    Illustrator.
    To be even more specific, If I took the CS4 Web Design Suite (which loads and runs on pre Intels - Loaded Dreamweaver CS4 and then for argument sake took a Master Suite copy of Flash CS4 and tried to load it (remember it says no pre intel macs) Will it work?
    Do you understand my question? Reason I ask is I have someone that has the CS4 master Suite that is willing to give it to me for way cheaper than new. So if I could take advantage and save about 800.00 I would like to.
    Sorry for the angry tone but it costs a small fortune to be right on the learning curve.

  • System requirements for CS4 - Im 40mb away from 1GB

    Hello
    My boss is getting CS4 for me and I checked this machine and it only has 960MB of RAM and the system requirements on the site says 1GB - do I go get 1GB of RAM right now before the package shows up? Can I choose not to install something that will help? Everything else checks out - 2GHz - 125GB of space, Service pack 3
    Thanks
    R

    You're not actually 40MB short of RAM. You have 1GB inside your machine (= 1,024MB) but Windows can only see 960MB.
    64MB is used by the integrated video card inside your machine = 1,024 - 64 = 960MB for Windows.
    System requirements actually says 512MB is the minimum for DW alone.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver/systemreqs/
    Try installing CS4 and see how it performs. If it's slow, add RAM.
    What exactly is your boss purchasing? One of the CS4 suites (which one?) or standalone Dreamweaver CS4?

  • Dreamweaver CS4 and PHP require_once, require, include_once, include absolute paths

    I have a question about Dreamweaver CS4's new functionality that lists required and included files in a second row below the name of the file you are currently editing. It's handy.
    I see that Dreamweaver attempts to list all the included files for a given page so that it is easier to find and edit those files.
    For example.  If I had a HTML document called index.html that linked to a CSS document called style.css, when I open index.html, Dreamweaver CS4 lists style.css in a row below index.html.
    My problem is this.  This new functionality works on absolute paths and relative paths for HTML elements. For example, it can find and link to CSS files regardless of if the src tag is relative  or absolute (/css/style.css)
    REFRESHER: absolute paths start with a "/" as in "/css/style.css" and relative paths do not start with a "/" as in "css/style.css" or "../../css/style.css"
    However, PHP files that are linked to the current page via require, require_once, include, or include_once, only appear to work if you use a relative path.
    So this would work in Dreamweaver:
    require_once('../lib/config.php');
    But this would not
    require_once('/home/matt/mydomain.com/html/lib/config.php');
    As any PHP developer knows, you are never supposed to use relative paths with included or required files.  Especially if your site has multiple levels of sub directories.  Relative paths are relative to the calling php document.  It causes a bunch of problems.  I can explain how if you want.
    How can I tell Dreamweaver that the base directory on my apache web server for my domain...
    /home/matt/mydomain.com/html/
    ... is the equivalent of the base directory on my home computer where dreamweaver accesses my files.
    C:\Users\Matt\Documents\My Websites\mydomain.com\
    So that when I write...
    require_once('/home/matt/mydomain.com/html/lib/config.php');
    ... how can I force dreamweaver understand that "/home/matt/mydomain.com/html/" is the same as "C:\Users\Matt\Documents\My Websites\mydomain.com\" on my home computer. So that way, this new Dreamweaver CS4 submenu feature can find and link to the correct file.
    Essentially, can I define Dreamweaver "include paths" for Dreamweaver to search in if the file I'm trying to include is not in the same directory?

    athensmusician wrote:

    Perhaps you ought to inform the PHP documentation team. All the examples in the PHP manual use relative paths.

    Dreamweaver parses only relative paths in PHP includes. The Related Files feature was a new addition in Dreamweaver CS4, so it's not 100% perfect. Having the ability to define your own include_path for Dreamweaver to parse would be a useful improvement. I just purchased Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 from the local

    An AMD Sempron 3300+

    I'm running CS3 on a three or so year old 3 gHz P4, 1 gig of

  • Problems to Download Dreamweaver CS4 with Akamai Download Manager!

    I want to download Dreamweaver CS4 Italian Windows Trial version.
    I have Internet Explorer 7, PC with OS Windows XP x64bit Corporate, Core2Quad Q9650, Motherboard MSI P45Platinum with Ethernet 10/100/1000,
    4GBRAM,3 HDD 500GB WesternDigital,Nvidia GeForce 9400GT.
    I have installed "Akamai Download Manager ActiveX" control asked on the top of window popup.
    Clicked Yes:Installation confirmation.
    But I have tried to click the button "Download" and just one window with this message appears and disappears immediately:
    Per scaricare il software è necessario installare Akamai Download Manager...
    Problemi di download?
    Assistenza per il download...
    Il sistema non dispone dei requisiti minimi per eseguire Akamai Download Manager.
    (The system doesn't meets the minimum system requirements to run Akamai Download Manager.)
    I can't download anything. Why?
    I have disable Pop-ups Blocker, and disabled also Anti-Phishing Filter.
    Disabled also Antivirus and the Firewall.
    Set and lowered Security Protection from Tools>Internet Options: to "Medium"; and also, another time, set to "Personalized" with all the controls
    switched to "Active".
    Set Privacy>Settings>"Accetta tutti i cookie"(lowered to full bottom).
    I have read this Akamai Download Manager FAQ:
    -"Nothing happens when I click the download link"
    If nothing happened after you clicked the download link, either your pop-up blocker or a high security setting on your web browser may have stopped
    the Akamai DLM window from opening.
    If you have a pop-up blocker enabled in your web browser or in your Internet toolbar (such as the Yahoo! toolbar or the Google toolbar), you will
    need to disable your pop-up blocker to start your download. For additional information, and for instructions on changing your security setting, see
    the "Akamai Download Manager system requirements" (ServiceNote kb400530).
    Note: The download manager can sometimes take up to a minute to load. Please allow time for the initial loading before assuming there is a problem
    Thus, I have followed this rules in Akamai Download Manager System Requirements:
    Internet Explorer 7
    1) Access your Internet options from the Windows Control Panel (Internet Options) or by selecting Tools > Internet Options in Internet Explorer
    2) Select the Security Tab
    3) Click Custom Level
    4) Scroll through the list of security options and set:
    -ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Download signed ActiveX controls > Enable or Prompt
    -ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Enable or Prompt
    -ActiveX controls and plug-ins > Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting > Enable or Prompt
    -Downloads > File download > Enable
    -Miscellaneous > Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints > Enable
    -Scripting > Active scripting > Enable
    5) Click OK
    6) Click OK again
    But nothing changes.
    On my PC I have also this installation: "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5" and "Java(TM)6 Update 15".
    But the download doesn't start at all.
    1) How can I do to download Dreamweaver CS4-Windows-ITALIAN language?
    2) Is it possible to download 364.8 MegaBytes without Akamai Download Manager?
    Please Hurry!

    another option you may have is resettofactory
    start- run- type:
    cmd
    press enter
    type:
    cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
    press enter
    type:
    loader.exe /resettofactory
    press enter
    please perform a backup first
    test your browser before you restore your backup, and to be ssafe I would do a selective restore
    open DTM, go to backup/restore- advanced
    top left click on file-open
    find your backup, it will load on the left side
    you current working BB will be on the right side
    transfer ONLY the absolute important databases from the left to the right(address, cal, phone logs, messages, sms, tasks, memo)... dont do any that you dont know and dont do any OPTIONS ones

  • Will Dreamweaver CS4 work properly with 10.6.1 Snow Leopard?

    Hello
    Can anyone tell me please, if Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 work properly with my MacBook OS 10.6.1 Snow Leopard? Adobe state "Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5.4" in the system requirements, but does this mean, in practise, that Dreamweaver will not work properly with Snow Leopard?
    I have tried to find info about this here, but have spend ages wading through masses of complaints about various applications crashing for people after they upgraded to 10.6.1 Snow Leopard. Personally, touch wood, I've had no problems with Snow Leopard, but I only really use it for Internet surfing and word processing (my work, music stuff on Logic Pro 8, is done on my Mac Pro which came with Leopard and which I am NOT upgrading - not yet!).
    I have also attempted to get an answer from Adobe - I 'phoned their "Pre-sales enquiries" number 0800 028 0148 (in the UK) and spoke to someone who sounded as if she was on the moon and who clearly had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I gave up with them! They didn't give an email address to ask on.
    I'd be very grateful if anyone can give a clear, authoritative answer please - if possible.

    I've been a Mac user since 1987 and have never upgraded the OS too soon after a new version was launched. Any new OS, like new houses, will have a 'snagging list' - unforeseen problems that arise and need to be sorted before your purchase is truly habitable and functions as expected.
    But the stability of OS X 10.5 paved the way for my lapse of judgement when I upgraded to Snow Panther last week, while its compatibility with some major software is still clearly too buggy.
    I've been using Dreamweaver (DW) CS4 successfully on OS X 10.5 for some time. Since installing OS X 10.6.1 I now have problems with DW, which I've alerted Adobe to.
    When using Design View in DW CS4, any formatted text - from html tags to css tags - disappears from the Design view. The code appears correctly in the Code window and even if you highlight text that has coding attached in Code view - eg text with a url link attached - the Design view continues to ignore it and removes the text from its view. I've discovered that my heading tags (h1, h2, etc) all make the text disappear in Design view in a way that would be the envy of members of the Magic Circle! The only thing that seems to get through is text that is surrounded by paragraph tags.
    Thing is that 'Preview in Browser' shows the page correctly (except in Opera, which I've only installed since installing Snow Leopard, so I can't say how this displayed in the previous OS versions).
    Also when I upload the site to the server it all seems to display more or less as it should.
    So currently it seems that DW CS4's Design view is no longer WYSIWYG! Expect to find lots of text hidden in Design view and have to use Code view much more.
    It would be nice to think that Apple and Adobe would talk to each other and work it out between them.
    re: Dreamweaver, I'd check back to Adobe.com regularly to see when they upgrade the OS requirements to 10.6.1 (I hadn't spotted before I bought Snow Leopard that they only go up to 10.5 in their OS recommendations).
    My advice if you're thinking of upgrading to Snow Panther: delay it until it more of it works compatibly with your major applications. Check the OS spec from each software manufacturer first. Meanwhile I'll just have to wait patiently for Apple & Adobe to get their act together...

  • How to Make Dreamweaver CS4/Flash CS4 Website Function on all Latest Mobile Devices

    Hello!
    I am trying to add code into my Dreamweaver CS4 file and/or Flash CS4 file in order to have the website I have created work across all of the latest mobile devices as well as traditional online systems. My flash file has a transparent stage, and my dreamweaver file has a full-screen background image. I have reviewed various tutorials and articles available online, and some advocate simply adding code, which does not seem to be working for me, while others suggest having a similar separate site created solely for mobile devices. If this is the best option, I don't know how that should be set up. What is the best path to take with this?
    This is the collection of various pieces of code I have tried adding to my files:

    I have tried various combinations of the code listed above, but nothing seems to be working. I am not sure as to the positioning of the code, and maybe that is the problem, or maybe it is because this code in not for CS4, or not appropriate for my project. I also do not know what code should be inside the Flash file, nor what should should be inside the Dreamweaver file.
    Thank you in advance for any assistance!

    Hi
    To add to what Gramps has said, Adobe has ceased developing its flash player for ALL mobile devices so do not use Flash for any mobile device.
    Depending on the complexity of your Flash program you may be able to recreate it using Edge, but the code generated by Edge does not work in IE8 or below.
    For details on Edge, see - http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/edge/

  • How to Make Flash CS4/Dreamweaver CS4 Website Function on all Latest Mobile Devices

      <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" user-scalable="yes" initial-scale="1.0" /> <!-- iphone,android -->
       <meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="true" /> <!-- blackberry -->
    </style>
       <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
          <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
            <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
            <param name="var params = {          id: "flashID", name: "flashcontent", menu: "false", allowFullScreen: "true", fullScreenOnSelection: "true", scale:"noscale", salign:"middle"};"
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    //or//
    this.stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    this.stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    next_btn.width = 133 * .5;
    next_btn.height = 133 * .5;
    //flash//
    next_btn.width = Capabilities.screenDPI * .5;
    next_btn.height = Capabilities.screenDPI * .5;
    //flash//
    this.stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, doLayout);
    //flash://
    <initialWindow>
       <width>320</width>
       <height>480</height>
       <!-- several other properties... -->
    </initialWindow>
    * Convert inches to pixels.
    private function inchesToPixels(inches:Number):uint
       return Math.round(Capabilities.screenDPI * inches);
    var button:Sprite = new Sprite();
    button.x = 20;
    button.y = 20;
    button.graphics.beginFill(0x 003037);
    button.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, this.inchesToPixels(.75),
       this.inchesToPixels(.25));
    button.graphics.endFill();
       this.addChild(button);
    //hard-code title://
    var titleBar:Sprite = new Sprite();
    titleBar.x = 0;
    titleBar.y = 0;
    //stage width determines width of title://
    var titleBar:Sprite = new Sprite();
    titleBar.x = 0;
    titleBar.y = 0;
    titleBar.graphics.beginFill(0x003037);
    titleBar.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, this.stage.stageWidth,
       this.inchesToPixels(.3));
    titleBar.graphics.endFill();
    this.addChild(titleBar);
    //footer://
    var footer:Sprite = new Sprite();
    footer.graphics.beginFill(0x003037);
    footer.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, this.stage.stageWidth,
       this.inchesToPixels(.3));
    footer.graphics.endFill();
    footer.x = 0;
    footer.y = this.stage.stageHeight - footer.height;
    this.addChild(footer);
    * Center one DisplayObject relative to another.
    private function center(foreground:DisplayObject,
       background:DisplayObject):void
          foreground.x = (background.width / 2) -
             (foreground.width / 2);
          foreground.y = (background.height / 2) +
             (foreground.height / 2);
    //cont.//
    var title:SimpleLabel = new SimpleLabel("My Application",
       "bold", 0xffffff, "_sans", this.inchesToPixels(.15));
    this.center(title, titleBar);
    this.addChild(title);
    //override width and height getters
    public override function get width():Number
       return this.textLine.textWidth;
    public override function get height():Number
       return (this.textLine.ascent - 1);
    if (Capabilities.manufacturer == "Android Linux" && Capabilities.screenResolutionY == 1024)
    next_btn.width = 85;
    next_btn.height = 85;
    This is the code for my Dreamweaver CS4 file (without the additional erogenous code attempts!):

    There is no simple code to add that will display the same on all mobile devices....
    you do know that the iProducts (iPhone, iPad, etc) don't display Flash at all, right?
    So as a start for "functioning on all latest mobile devices" you should drop any Flash content you have and move on.
