Dreamweaver CS4 will not install

I have a windows 7 PC. I have used Dreamweaver CS4 in the past on this computer.
However after I did a recent return to factory settings I have problems when trying to reinstall the program from the disc.
On the first attempt it seemed to install but I got a message saying the installation was incomplete but that the program would function.
When I tried to use the program I got a message that there were no "Resources"
So I tried to reinstall but this time it would not install at all.
Is there some update I can download that would help?
Please advise

I was not sure how to follow some of the instructions for the Cleaner Tool so I was looking around for more explanation and meanwhile
I found find a page on the Adobe site for downloads of "older" products.
I was able to download and successfully install Dreamweaver CS4 from here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html
Thanks for your advice and for taking the time to respond.

  • Adobe CS4 will not install on new macbook pro [was: pro]

Adobe CS4 will not install on new macbook pro. It is coming from my other macbook.

Install normally means running setup from the orginal discs or the downloadable trial version. If you are copying from a backup or another computer, that won't work.
Best advice is to download the CS4 trial, and have your serial number ready in order to convert the trial into a licensed version.
Get the trial here. Follow the instructions carefully or the download link won't work.

  • Dreamweaver extensions will not install

After some recent updates to the Adobe CC apps, my Dreamweaver app (as stated in the install that some extensions would have to be reinstalled), in particular the Extension Manager CC, will not reinstall my extensions.  And these are necessary since they are my menu extensions - I cannot modify, add, etc. without them.  I get an error message from Extension Manager that Dreamweaver 6 or higher is needed for this extension.  I checked, this Dreamweaver version is 15.  So what gives?
I tried going through and removing preferences, even found Extension Manager C6 still installed - so removed that too.  I need some advice on what to do.
    Thank you.

I am sorry about this new topic, I posted this problem in another's topic because I didn't know how to start a new topic.  Duh, found the pencil icon today at the top to start a new discussion.
Updated today in that topic that I had uninstalled and reinstalled Extension Manager (7.3.2.39) and still get this error:
As I said in other post, the current Dreamweaver CC is version 15.  The above picture was just taken, after another uninstall/reinstall of Extension Manager 7.3.2.39.
Scratching head - and can't afford to lose any more hair!
Thanks for reading - - Tom

One other note and I don't know if it means anything...  When the above dialog is dismissed by hitting "OK" the Extension Manager app shows.  On the left column are many Adobe CC applications but missing is Dreamweaver.  Is this an issue?  Or is it because on extensions have been installed.
FYI - I've tried the many suggestions on curing this problem (thank you all very much) to no avail - with another issue that popped up in Dreamweaver that its not saving my server info when quitting the app,  Have to replace all them (ID & PW) for all my sites I manage.  My solution at this point is to keep Dreamweaver running all the time.  That works but there will be a time when a restart or shutdown will come about.  The info is no big deal to replace, but the big thing is I've never had to until this recent update of DW.  Sounds like I'm ******** about DW, no I'm not.  It is just a small annoyance that is causing extra time when doing my web maintenance daily and adds to that time - which already is being taxed to the enth degree.
I'm sure i've maybe upset some of the regular forum users since I've had to learn the forum's intricacies - mostly about how to post a new topic.  Please forgive my ignorance on that, as I posted in another's question about my problem since I couldn't find how to start a new one (which is now a "duh").
Hope Adobe or my menu software people can figure this out.  I lean towards a DW issue since it arose after the last update (of course that could still be an incompatibility with my extension.
I am trying to find a work around to make modifications to my menus.  My other system is experiencing the same issue (as noted above in previous message) although I could swear I had not updated DW on it.  Will get to that when I have some time to look into it.
Do not know how to make changes to these menus without the extension being active even though they're javascript (I believe).
Hope some of the brainiacs here can assist.  Thanks in advance.

Photoshop CS4 will n ot install on my new iMac 3.4 i7 OS 10.8.2  WHY!!!

Do you receive any specific error messages when you try to install?  You can find information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.

  • My cs4 will not install any updates

My photoshop CS4 seems to be fully loaded but runs slow. It was an upgrade from my prior CS2. The updates will download and start to upload but all of them end up being indicated by the installer as failed. So I am still not updated to 11.0.1.
I have no 3rd party plug ins set up in CS4, as I removed them in hopes that it would resolve this problem. But it did not. My Graphic card is on the acceptable list and has the current driver updates. I am running a Dell Xps with 3.20ghz 3.20 hardrive with lots of room as I use a 1tet external drive for my photos. I have 3gb of Ram. Is there some other way to load these needed updates.  As there seems to be about 4 bundles for them - Camera Raw - All products - the 11.0.1 and something else. Hope you can help or is this something I should be phoning in on. Thanks

I had a similar problem when running Vista, the installer would indicate failure but the install had actually happened.
Check the Photoshop version in the Help->About Photoshop (11.0.1)menu item.
You can also check out Bridge (3.0.0464) the same way and Camera Raw (5.5) (the version number is in the title bar when it's not in full screen mode).

  • Illustrator CS4 will not install

Win 7 64 bit, Photoshop CS4 installed.  Try to install Illustrator CS4 and runs into a problem updating Photoshop and stops the install.

Not exacly sure what is said. Just that is was not able to update Photosope and needed to stop the install.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I have tried to update Photoshop CS4 and have had difficulty as it would never complete, just get 80% done and stop.  Caused by:
Error: The specified module could not be found. C:\Program files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.0\VersionCue.DLL
    Workaround:
Actually, I copied all of the files, not including the Dictionaries directory,
    VersionCue.dll
    VersionCueSDK.dll
    VersionCueUI.dll
    ExtendScript.dll
that were not in the 4.0.1 directory.
Now, I ended up with these 5 files,
    VersionCue.dll
    VersionCueSDK.dll
    VersionCueUI.dll
    ExtendScript.dll
    ScCore.dll
    and 1 directory, Dictionaries.

I am running CS4 on Windows 7 (64 bit).  I cannot get any updates to install.  The installation bar starts cross the window then returns to the beginning and does it again....a never ending loop.  I once heard that when I installed PS I should do it under adminiatrator permissions.  If this true....what are they talking about ?  Any help is appreciated....

First, WHICH version of Vista 32-bit? It must be at least Home Premium, but if things started to install the first time that probably isn't the issue.
Second, if the installer is reporting you don't have SP1 it's worth checking. Did you specifically download and install SP1? I don't know, because I don't run Vista, if SP1 would be an automatic update, or if only the security patches included in it would be automatic.
In XP you can right-click on My Computer and select properties. On the general tab it will tell you what service packs are installed. There has to be an equivalent in Vista, so you should check and be sure SP1 is listed.

  • Please help cs4 will not install

I just got a new photoshop cs4 extended. pn#65015816 from ebay. I can't get it to load, a auto something will pop up fast and then go away and the disk stops turning.
I called suport and they want a id# I don't know what they are talking about and when they found out I got it on ebay they won't even talk to me.

if it came in it's own self contained cs4 box there should be a serial number on the back side towards the bottom of the dvd case i believe this is what they were asking for.
at what point in the install does it stop loading?
does it try to install, do you get a screen with install instructions?
    what happens step by step?

  • Photoshop cs4 will not install

i have recently downloaded the trail version of cs4 to see if i like it but when i try to install it goes to the checking system profile install thing but stops once it gets about 3/4 of the way done with it. also when it stops i get an install message about command line parameters about different modes. please can anyone help!!

    Vista or XP?
check services and turn windows installer to auto
    Turn off anti-virus
    Turn off windows defender
Turn off any running programs you don't need in msconfig.
Put the folder on windows desktop and run setup program as administrator.
Make sure you install at the default location as the software seems to be happy there.
Depending on how far you got you may have to run the CS4 cleaner and windows uninstaller. There is a section in the help area on what to download and how to do it.
There is a "how to set up" in the help area too.

  • InDesign CS4 will not install

THE PROBLEM: buy clicking on the .exe file the DVD starts-up but doesn't get any further! swapped the DVD drive still no joy! Have tried everything from the Adobe TechNote: installing in "simple mode" from the desktop, virus scanner de-installed all 2 nothing. Not even a error message it just does not start the installation process. Tried on another PC and it works fine (although extremely slowly).OUR SYSTEM: We are running Window XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 with 3.00 GHz, 2 Gig of RAM. Anyone any clues?

You're logged in as Administrator? (Have to check - no offense intended)
Turn off any firewalls temporarily. I have very similar systems, and it went through with nothing more than turning off anti-virus on both my desktop and laptop, so it's likely to be something conflicting on this particular machine. I'd be inclined to try running MSConfig and turn off everything in the startup tab that you know is not essential for the system to work, and do the same for all non-microsoft services in the services tab, but make sure you don't disable Bonjour, if it's there, as it's used by the installer (or was in the last version). Some scanner drivers were problematic in CS3, as were iTunes and browser toolbars.
If it appears to be hung, take a look in task manager an see if it's running. Perhaps it's off-screen and you can get it to come back by playing with minimize/maximize or switch to commands.
Not much more I can think of at the moment.

The app just does not load. I have been on the Adobe and Apple sites, read several posts, gone through Adobe's troubleshooting list, reinstalled the programme about 4 times already. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

What if any errors have you been receiving?
Also have you tried calling Adobe support.  They provide installation support to all customers free of charge.

  • Part of CS6 Design Premium (Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash) will not install. What do I do?

I've been having this issue for a while now, and these 3 applications have been completely unuseable on my iMac. The error summary indicates that their language packages failed installation. What do I do to fix this?

We need exact system info and the install logs. As a start, run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and try again.
