Need to know if Dreamweaver CS4 works with new OS  Mavricks?
Thanks.  email   [email protected]

Hi
Probably not without problems, even Dw CC required an update to make it run correctly under Maverick.

  • Does Dreamweaver CS4 work with Lion?

Can anyone tell me if Dreamweaver CS4 will still work if I upgrade to Lion?
I tried to ask Adobe but was told by their support team that they would answer this question only if I bought 'bronze support' !
The telephone number they gave me to buy this support returned a ' number not recognised' response, which was a pity because I had intended to register my disgust at their mean response.
I run a website and do not want to risk problems if it will not work properly, so I should be very grateful if someone could answer this for me.

I own Dramweaver CS4 and just upgraded to Lion. When I tried to launch Dreamweaver, I got the error 150:30, "Licensing for this product has stopped working." Looking up the error on the Adobe support site, I discovered that Dreamweaver CS4 is apparently supposed to work, but that there is a problem with the licensing component. There is a knowledge base article on fixing this problem. However, I am frustrated because one of the steps is to download a license recovery application that has a PowerPC component that will not run. The other steps in the recovery procedure did not work for me, so I personally am stuck.

  • How does Dreamweaver CS4 work with CS3 Design Suite?

I am looking to purchase Dreamweaver on my computer however I currently have the CS3 versions of Photoshop and Illustrator installed on my computer. Will the DW CS4 version work if the rest of my Design Suite is CS3 or should I look to purchase CS3 if available?  Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dreamweaver 3 will open a file in Photoshop, so DW CS4 should do the same. I think you might have problems with Adobe's Bridge. And it's possible that DW CS4 might decide that previous versions of Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop or Illustrator are not supported. So workflows may be a little more disjointed.
So the real question will be: Do the advantages of DW CS4 outweigh possible hurdles in workflow?
I will frequently open and replace graphic images using Photoshop without Dreamweaver open and, when I open the website, everything falls into place. I did that for a number of color changes and I worked exclusively in Photoshop for the first part of my day, replacing colors that were designed to be part of the website with the client's specific pick. I tend to save graphics as .PSD files and then use Photoshop's Export to Web and in CS3, Photoshop will remember two different paths for a Save (PSD) and a Save to Web.

  • Will Dreamweaver CS4 work properly with 10.6.1 Snow Leopard?

    Hello
Can anyone tell me please, if Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 work properly with my MacBook OS 10.6.1 Snow Leopard? Adobe state "Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5.4" in the system requirements, but does this mean, in practise, that Dreamweaver will not work properly with Snow Leopard?
I have tried to find info about this here, but have spend ages wading through masses of complaints about various applications crashing for people after they upgraded to 10.6.1 Snow Leopard. Personally, touch wood, I've had no problems with Snow Leopard, but I only really use it for Internet surfing and word processing (my work, music stuff on Logic Pro 8, is done on my Mac Pro which came with Leopard and which I am NOT upgrading - not yet!).
I have also attempted to get an answer from Adobe - I 'phoned their "Pre-sales enquiries" number 0800 028 0148 (in the UK) and spoke to someone who sounded as if she was on the moon and who clearly had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I gave up with them! They didn't give an email address to ask on.
I'd be very grateful if anyone can give a clear, authoritative answer please - if possible.

I've been a Mac user since 1987 and have never upgraded the OS too soon after a new version was launched. Any new OS, like new houses, will have a 'snagging list' - unforeseen problems that arise and need to be sorted before your purchase is truly habitable and functions as expected.
But the stability of OS X 10.5 paved the way for my lapse of judgement when I upgraded to Snow Panther last week, while its compatibility with some major software is still clearly too buggy.
I've been using Dreamweaver (DW) CS4 successfully on OS X 10.5 for some time. Since installing OS X 10.6.1 I now have problems with DW, which I've alerted Adobe to.
When using Design View in DW CS4, any formatted text - from html tags to css tags - disappears from the Design view. The code appears correctly in the Code window and even if you highlight text that has coding attached in Code view - eg text with a url link attached - the Design view continues to ignore it and removes the text from its view. I've discovered that my heading tags (h1, h2, etc) all make the text disappear in Design view in a way that would be the envy of members of the Magic Circle! The only thing that seems to get through is text that is surrounded by paragraph tags.
Thing is that 'Preview in Browser' shows the page correctly (except in Opera, which I've only installed since installing Snow Leopard, so I can't say how this displayed in the previous OS versions).
Also when I upload the site to the server it all seems to display more or less as it should.
So currently it seems that DW CS4's Design view is no longer WYSIWYG! Expect to find lots of text hidden in Design view and have to use Code view much more.
It would be nice to think that Apple and Adobe would talk to each other and work it out between them.
re: Dreamweaver, I'd check back to Adobe.com regularly to see when they upgrade the OS requirements to 10.6.1 (I hadn't spotted before I bought Snow Leopard that they only go up to 10.5 in their OS recommendations).
My advice if you're thinking of upgrading to Snow Panther: delay it until it more of it works compatibly with your major applications. Check the OS spec from each software manufacturer first. Meanwhile I'll just have to wait patiently for Apple & Adobe to get their act together...

  • Does Dreamweaver CS3 work with 64 bit version of Windows 7?

Windows 7, 64 bit, Home Premium was clean installed.  I had no difficulty reinstalling Dreamweaver CS3, but when I try to open a file I get a message that  says." A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."  Apparently none is.  So my question is, does Dreamweaver CS3 work with the 64 bit version of Windows 7?  If not, does CS4 work or would I be wasting money by upgrading?

I just installed it and ran it fine.  I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Make sure it is a clean install from a fresh "boot".  I ran into problems the first time when I tried to install it right after I installed another program.  I simply uninstalled it.....which took a long long time, but after it was removed and I rebooted, everything went fine.

Dreamweaver does not ship with a web server, you have to
install one, or activate one on your system (IIS or Apache for
Widows and Apache for Mac are the common choices). When you define
a site within Dreamweaver you can specify a testing server, as well
as a remote server. If the testing server and/or remote server are
available to your system without an internet connection, then you
can certainly test pages through the web server such as through
    http://localhost/
If you are creating HTML pages, then there is no need for a
server at all for creating and testing your pages, but if you are
working with PHP or ColdFusion, then you will need a web server to
    work with.
If you have follow up questions, you should ask in the
Dreamweaver General forum (general Dreamweaver usage questions), or
the Application Development forum (questions about dynamically
generated pages), depending on what you're looking to do:

  • Is Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Compatible With Windows 7

    Hello;
I am a new student taking up Web Design and the school that I am interested in is issuing the older Dreamweaver software Adobe Dreamweaver CS4.
I am using operating system   Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium computer.
Windows 7 being that newest and latest operating system issued by Microsoft I am not sure if Dreamweaver CS4 will be compatible with my computer.
If anyone has ever installed Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 on to a windows 7 computer have they ever had, any problems with, the installation being, error messages or just damaging to there computer.
If so please explain?   Or just simply do they work together?
I can not contact the school due to Student Services being closed.
                   Thank you Jon.

CS4 had no major issues on Win 7. You should be aware of this one bug: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/478327

  • Dreamweaver CS4 compatible with Windows 7 and 8?

I still work with Dreamweaver CS4 (student version) which is until now still good enough for me.
On my desktop I still have XP and on my Laptop Vista.
But due to HD filming and probably Office 2013 I need a new desktop and also need to upgrade my Laptop.
As all new desktops have windows 8 can anyone tell me if dreamweaver cs4 will still run properly under this?
And if I upgrade my laptop to Windows 7 (I still have a free upgrade) will it run under that one too?
As I still have a student version, the purchase of a new dreamweaver would be expensive for the time being.
    Thanks already for your information
    .Martine

Win 7 32 bit only; not 64 bit
Win 8, probably not at all

  • Dreamweaver CS4 stopped with Mac Upgrade

I just bought a new Macbook pro with Yosemite. I migrated all files
    as per a normal upgrade.
Most of my software is working.
But Dreamweaver CS4 won't start up, giving this error message:
"No document types have been found in the
    Configuration/DocumentTypes/ folder.  The
MMDocumentTypes.xml file may be missing or
corrupted. The application will exit now."
    What to do?

Hi:  Thanks.  Your advice might have helped.  In the mean time I upgraded to Dreamweaver CC 2014.1.  That didn't work either.  But with half an hour with a nice guy from New Delhi "Prabs" and with my network admin, we got Dreamweaver connected and working again.  And, forgunately, my school seems to have a site license now, so it won't cost me.
Thanks for your help, which probably would have worked in the end.

  • Can a client on Contribute CS4 work with administrator on CS3?

I have CS3 and upgrading to CS4 is not currently in the budget.  Have a client prospect who may want to work with Contribute but would have to buy it and I gather that only CS4 version of Contribute is available (and he's on a PC while I'm on a Mac).  If I create the site in CS3 and he purchases CS4, will he be able to access and work with the site?  If yes, are there any cautions or pointers that would be helpful to know?

Ok, if it's worth anything to anyone else, I've answred my own quesstions:
    1. You enter all four keys in the Security screen of the web GUI. The Express Security screen is retarded and only records one key, no matter what you do.
    2. I had to make WEP encryption optional and then my client associated right away with 128bit WEP.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to enable encryption on the client.

    Hi John
Even though my PC took in all the files, as you know I was concerned that the application icons were not available to activate the software. I’m not that technically minded so didn’t want to fiddle with EXE files so uninstalled and tried again. This time the icons appeared on the start menu page of Windows 8.1! Although I haven’t edited anything yet, I accessed the programme and everything seems to be working!  Thanks for your time and getting back to me and at least this site can state that CS4 DOES work with Windows 8.1. An answer I couldn’t find anywhere on the web.

  • Does cs4 work with mountain lion

I want ti upgrade to Mountain Lion and beyond but need to make sure CS4 Creative Suite works with it.

General consensus is that CS4 is ok on Mt. Lion except there are some known problems with Photoshop.
    Some additional details:

Adobe Known Issues on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion (most of this still carries over to Mt. Lion)

  • Will CS4 work with my 1.6 GHz processor?

I want to buy Photoshop CS4 but I read that I need a minimum 1.8 GHz processor in my PC.  My processor is 1.6GHz. What will happen if I try install it in my PC anyway? Will it work?  If not, is it possible to upgrade my processor?  If so, how much would that cost?

From what I understand, I need software that will allow me to read my RAW images in a browser to do what this other photographer was doing.  I shoot with a Nikon D200 and a D300 so I need to know if Nikon's camera RAW images are compatible with CS3. If they are, I can go with the CS3 and not have to worry about whether or not CS4 will work with my system.
Different Nikons create different NEF files, requiring different versions of the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in.
I don't have the list handy but in any case I think you are going to be struggling processing raw files with that computer.
    Here's the list:

Edit: So you need ACR 4.3 for the D300, which means Photoshop CS3 to run it. So forget CS4!
