  • CS5.5 to CS6 free upgrade - Why can't I get a disk?

I have been trying to convince someone in support at Adobe that we would like a hard copy disk of the CS5.5 to CS6 free upgrade, however they keep sending me a link to Creative Cloud even though I have talked to customer support until I am blue in the face that our IT department wants a hard copy to use for my download?    We purchased the hard copy of CS5.5.   Can I pay the $20 charge for the hard copy?

I purchased 5.5 and am looking to get the complimentary CS6 upgrade.   Customer service for some odd reason do not want to discuss how to obrtain a disk.  Last time they sent me a link to Creative Cloud ...... for what reason I do not know, except maybe this is where you can download from the internet.   Our download is too slow and I need a disk.

  • I orginally bought Dreamweaver CS5.5, and I later upgraded to CS6.

I orginally bought Dreamweaver CS5.5, and I later upgraded to CS6 by downloading and entering the product code.  Recently I had to reinstall Windows so I no longer have CS6.  Is there some way of getting it back?  I have the product key.
Second, this is the fourth time I have entered this message on pages leading up to this one.  Is there any way of just entering the question once?

    Hello,
did you find this: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html and please note "Important: Download the files from a browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer."
What concerns your question about "Second": Provided I understand you in the right way, naturally it is. BUT, when you don't get an answer it means nothing more and nothing less than no one had a solution for you. And please don't forget, here the most are users not Adobe's employees.

  • Is there a way to upgrade from Dreamweaver CS5.5 to CS6 in the student store?

I purchased Adobe CS5.5 when it was released and am now looking to upgrade to Adobe CS6 for Mac. I am a full time student and so was wondering if there is a way to upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6 and still get a discount as im a student.
    Thanks In advance.

There are no student upgrades.  Never have been, never will be.  Your options are to either buy a new student verison or pay for the full retail upgrade price.  That's always been Adobe's policy.  If you are looking to jump on a cloud, then you need to contact Adobe sales for help.

  • Will CS5 owners get a free upgrade to CS6?

It would be sweet, but it's probabbly not happening. Does anyone know?

Here is a link to the upgrade policy after announcements. If you purchaced CS5 quite some time ago, you're probably out of luck.

    Pricing is still TBA.

  • Update Dreamweaver CS5.5 to CS6 - how to use serial?

    I have a CS5.5 installed on Win7. I purchased a CS6 upgrade (für Dw CS6 12.0) with a seperate serial.
When I install version 12 I get asked for the serial but when I enter it is not accepted. I tried the current version from the website (13.x) but same thing.
The setup is not recognizing the previos version CS5.5. What is the typical install process and how does setup check my current license/serial to validate the upgrade?

What do you mean by it is not accepted?  Do you get any error message?  If so post it here.  Also tell us where did you buy the upgrade from?
The typical process to install an upgrade is to make sure you have a CD and a valid serial number for the upgrade product and also make sure the product you are upgrading from (in your case CS 5.5) is either already installed on the system or you have a serial number handy to enter when you are asked to enter while you are installing the new product.  Apart from this, installation is still the same like any other products.

  • Really? No educational upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6 without paying full price?

We bought the CS5.5 educational copy for our daughter in college.  Now she needs CS6.  Called about an upgrade and was told there isn't one, that we need to buy a whole new version or use cloud with a monthly fee.  Basically our CS5.5 is useless now!  I have never been a big fan of monthly subscriptions either.  What a rip off!

Useless? How so? Has it stopped working?
And I think you misunderstand the upgrade policy. You can buy a CS5.5 to
CS6 upgrade but there is no academic upgrade. If your daughter is still
in school she can buy the full CS6  student version or move to Creative
Cloud. If she's no longer a student she can get the CS5.5 to CS6
commercial upgrade or move to Creative Cloud with intro pricing of
    $29.99/month for the first year.
The academic price of Creative Cloud is $29.99/month.
Your closing statement here was unnecessary. I suggest you check all of
your facts in the future before ranting, especially here. This is a user
to user forum, not a direct line to Adobe.

  • Free Upgrade to CS6 with Purchase of CS5.5

In case anyone is considering moving to CS5.5 now would be a good time.
Any CS5.5 purchase now gets a free upgrade to CS6 when it ships.
    Bob

Why not just wait? Or is CS6 likely to cost more?
Pricing is not yet announced for CS6, but if you buy CS5.5 you get to use that while you wait for CS6, and you can take your time moving to CS6 until the first service update is released if you're one of those folks who likes to let other users find the bugs that got missed during testing. There's almost always a bug-fix update in the first 90 days or so.
Another reason not to wait is that if you do any work with other people, they are unlikely to all upgrade to CS6 at the same time.
Since new releases of InDesign cannot directly save old version files, you'll need to export files from CS6 to IDML and run the risk that the export might be imperfect -- if you need to work with other people.
But if you buy CS5.5 now (and get the free upgrade to CS6), then you'll have CS5.5 and you can use it if you need, to when working with others.
    Also:
Are there system requirements listed for CS6? Currently have an iMac i7 running 10.6.8. Thanks for the notification on the upgrade!!!
I can't really imagine a processor as new as a Core i7 would not be supported. You should be fine.
Similarly, there's a huge installed base of Snow Leopard, so that should also be fine.

  • Free upgrade to CS6 from CS5.5?

I purchased CS5.5 in May. I understand there is a free upgrade to CS6 due to purchase date. How do I get it?

There was but I am sorry to say this offer expired as of August 6, 2012.

  • I purchased CS5 -free upgrade to CS6

I purchased CS5 in April of this year... At purchase I was informed I could get a free upgrade to CS6 ... How do I upgrade?

That sounds like an online store.  If so, have you tried logging on to your account, and checking 'My orders'?   I am not sure how the free upgrade would work, and I have a feeling that trying to phone Adobe is going to be a long and frustrating experience.
There are quite a few Google hits HERE

I recently bought Photoshop CS5.Am I entitled to free upgrade to CS6
    Magne

The free upgrade offer is for users who purchase(d) CS5.5 Suite or component products through Adobe.com after March 26. Since Photoshop did not have a CS5.5 release (but it did get a 5.1 designation inthe CS5.5 package), I would presume that a purchase of Photoshop CS5.1 on or after March 26 would be eligible. See http://store.adobe.com/store/en_us/popup/offer/cs55_cs6_faq.html
Note that the offer might not be valid outside the US, however. The FAQ says the offer is also valid for purchases at other resellers, but does not seem to provide details about how to get your coupon. If either of those apples to you, you might want to call customer service for your region.

  • Free Upgrade to Photoshop CS6 from CS5.5 upon release

I Purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 production Premium (Student License) a month ago understanding that a free upgrade to Photoshop CS6 MAC. when available. How do I upgrade to CS6 now that it is released.

    I’m in the same boat.
I knew this would happen so I sent in a support ticket and got a case number on the 22nd. I was told that I do qualify for the cs6 upgrade but I would have to wait. So I did and guess what – nothing came.
I spent the better part of an hour in chat and while they have agreed there is an issue and have “escalated” my problem to the “offline team”, they are now away for Memorial Day and I won’t hear back until at least Tuesday.
All I wanted was a link to my promo code or an explanation – I didn’t get either and now the studio I've booked out sits vacant all weekend.
I cannot imagine letting a client twist in the wind without delivering their project or an explanation as to why an extension is needed – It’s unfathomable. If Adobe cannot stick to their deadline they need to change it or explain why BEFORE the deadline passes. A simple email would suffice and any adult with any business experience would agree that this just is common sense.
What will Adobe do now? I predict I’ll get a form letter apology ( that’s not worth near the $300 I lost this weekend )  and finally a link to my promo code. No mentions of compensations or added value for my trouble.
Enjoy your extended weekend kids – status quo starts back on Tuesday...

  • Free upgrade to DW CS6?

I ordered Dreamweaver cs5.5 and was supposed to get CS6 free when it came out. does anyone know how i get my CS6 upgrade?

Hmmm...  I've contacted them three times now.  Even talked to a "Supervisor".  Every rep. has said that the window for claiming the upgrade to CS6 closed last August and "there's nothing I can do now."  This is pretty raw ... it would be no skin off their back to honor the original deal (which had not said anything about a short window for making the claim).  I'd certainly like to connect with the understanding rep. you worked with!!

  • Where is the CS5.5 to CS6 Web Design Premium upgrade download link?!

I purchased the CS5.5 Web Design Premium equivalent to avail of the free upgrade to CS6 when it came out.
After too much fluffing around with Adobe's customer services (weeks upon weeks), I eventually received the upgrade disk through the post (I'm based in the UK).
The problem I now have is that this disk has become scratched and I can't wait to receive another disk.
After speaking with someone through the online chat, I was told that only those who purchased an online copy could download it. As I purchased directly through Adobe over the phone, I was not entitled to an auto-generated download link.
The upgrade also doesn't appear in my Product pages.
So, can someone please help to find out where I can download a copy of the upgrade, rather than wait for it to come through in the post?

As long as you have the serial numbers for the upgrade version and the base version(CS6 and CS5.5 respectively in your case) the programs will install fine. Download the trial version from www.adobe.com/downloads/ and install the software. During installation you may be asked for the CS5.5 serial number(after you enter your CS6 serial number). The installer file or setup.exe file is the same on the disks and on Adobe.com.
    Thanks
    Nikhil

  • Upgrade Price Speculations Production Premium CS5.5 to CS6?

Anyone have an idea of the cost to upgrade from Production Premium CS5.5 to CS6?  Right now you can buy the updgrade from CS5 to CS5.5 for $399 + 10% off until the 15th.  If you buy the CS5 to CS5.5 upgrade now, you get CS6 for free.  Wonder if buying the CS5 to CS5.5 upgrade with a free copy of CS6 for $360 will be cheaper than the CS5.5 to CS6 upgrade.  If you are still on CS5, seems like a not brainer.  Thoughts?

Yes, maybe...maybe not? Who knows? Well...besides Adobe. And maybe Dave, but he's not interested in discussing anything today. And this is really more appropriate to the Lounge anyway.
BUT - I like your question, and I want to try to give you some advice if I can so here goes.
You're likely to see that the upgrade price for the boxed/download version of Production Premium CS6 isn't much different than what you're seeing now for the intermediate "upgrade now, save later" type offers.
For me, I'm holding on to see what the final pricing and layout is for Creative Cloud. Probably looking at that costing me a bit more over the short run based on my current Adobe purchasing history, but there's supposed to be quite a bit of extra goodness in there so probably worthwhile.
If you have a money back guarantee wherever you're purchasing, you can always buy now, don't open it, then return it in a week or so if pricing is announced and it makes a difference.
If you think you'd have a use for the Creative Cloud, you may want to wait. The preliminary pricing listed by Adobe is $49/month for annual subscribers. Maybe it'll be discounted for 1-year if you already own CS5 or CS5.5 versions of one of the suites. Dunno. Probably more info within the next 7 days.
