Dreamweaver CS5.5 won't launch
I have been using Adobe Dreamweaver on this computer for almost two years. Today it started to crash every few minutes. Now it will no longer open. I cleared the preference, and reinstalled it, but it still will not launch. Any ideas? Thanks
I used TextEdit to remove some media queries from my last edited .css document, and now it opens again. If I put the code back in the program crashes and doesn't open again.

Dreamweaver cs5.5 crash on launch
At work today, around 6:30PM EST Dreamweaver cs5.5 crashed on me. I wasn't able to launch it back up. The launch graphic would stop at 'initializing external data'. I tried deleting the Configuration folder and the WinFileCache.dat file as described here - Deleting a corrupted cache file.
I gave up and went home, where I have the same exact program (dreamweaver cs5.5 also on 64bit Windows7 pc). Program won't launch and I have the exact same thing happening with the launch crash.
I need to get work done. Please tell me what I can do to get this fixed on both computers. Could it be something to do with the project I am working on? It's all just basic php, html & css. Not wordpress or anything that could have malware.bona281 wrote:

It's possible.
Since both machines were affected (I assume they are accessing the same files), and neither machine seems to have responded to the cache/personal config fix, it could be the old 8K bug...
From outside DW, check if you have any files that are 8192 bytes (8Kb). If you do, open and modify them in a text editor. Add a long winded html comment for example. Something that will change the file size and save. Then try to start DW.
If you don't have any 8K files, have you done anything else to both installations of DW, like add a new extension?

Dreamweaver CC2014.1 won't launch. Everything else works fine.
When I launch Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 the icon jumps but nothing happens. I have all other CC software working fine. My DreamWeaver CS5 is working fine. I have installed JAVA 8, I do not get any pop up about Java SE 6.
Ask in the DW forum and provide exact system info. Sounds like some of the startup scripts are not working.

Dreamweaver CS 5 won't launch on Mac
Error says "No document types have been found in the Configuration/DocumentTypes/ folder. The MMDocumentTypes.xml file may be missing or corrupted."
When I tried to reinstall, error says the serial number is no good. (I still have the email with the CS serial numbers.) Other CS products not affected.
No fixes or solutions I've seen here seem to help.

Dreamweaver CS6 trial won't launch
I have tried to launch Dreamweaver CS6 several times. I have installed and reinstalled the trial version but cannot get it to open. I get the little hourglass like it wants to load but that's only for a second and then nothing happens. The installation went fine. There were no problems or error messages. I do not get any error messages either when I try to open it. It is very important I get this program to work because my homework depends on it.
I am running on Windows XP Professional Service pack 3. My computer is an AMD Sempron 3000+, 2.00 GHZ, 1.93 GB of RAM.
Is there something I can do to get this program to open? Or perhaps something I may have done wrong?Hello,
I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if there had been any resolution to the problem?
I have the same issue, and after several of my own tests to find the problem I found that the issue seems to be related to computers running Windows XP PROFESSIONAL. I tried installing the trial on four different computers, two were running XP Pro, and two were running XP home. In each case, I used the same DW CS6 install file, and started the installation to install as a trial, and each install went without any problems. But on the two WinXP Pro machines, the trial failed to initiate at the initial launch (first time start-up by clicking the LAUNCH button from the 'Install complete' screen). On the two XP HOME machines, the program started fine.
Unfortunately for me (and apparently for sweetpea too), I need it to run on Windows XP Pro and all my attempts to change the Windows permissions, or create and use a new user account had any affect-- the trial just won't start on the XP Pro computers. And just to clarify, ALL of the computers were running Service Pack 3.
It seems to me then it must have something to do with the program allowing permission (as noted in the various help files), but since they haven't seem to fix the problem, they are missing something. And obviously, I can't try the new CC version (it doesn't work with XP) so I need to find a solution so it will work with XP Pro (my work computer). I had planned on purchasing it once I was sure it would let me make the changes to my website that I wanted, but I'm not about to buy it now, and then find out it still won't work.
So I'd appreciate any additional recommendations that anyone might have to help to resolve the issue with a Widows XP Professional computer.

InDesign CS5 APPCRASH - won't launch
I have InDesign CS5 on a Windows 7 computer. The program will not launch, it errors out. The description says APPCRASH error. I have uninstalled and re-installed InDesign CS5 and yet still get the same result. I have restarted the computer after the installs, and uninstalls just to be sure. I have also changed the default printer to no avail.
I was able to download the InDesign installer from prodesigntools. But it won't recognize my serial number (which I'm getting from my account on Adobe's site).
I thought it be because my serial number is for the Design Standard Suite. So I went back to prodesigntools to download that installer, but am now getting "Access denied". I've tried in multiple browsers, cleared my cache and cookies, and in Chrome's incognito mode. I followed the directions explicity again but can't get to the CS5.5 Design Standard installer.
Any ideas? -
Dreamweaver CC 2014 won't launch
Just switched to a new Mac Pro. Per Adobe's instructions, I downloaded and installed Creative Cloud. Then from Creative Cloud I selected the Adobe apps to install. Several of the apps run just fine--no issues. However, no matter what I try, I can't get Dreamweaver CC 2014 to launch. The icon in the dock bounces a couple of times and that's it. No splash screen, no crash dialog. I checked CONSOLE and it has nothing showing for "Dreamweaver" or "Adobe" in the message. The ~Library/Logs/CrashReporter has no crash logs (user and root). I've repaired permissions (even though that has no impact on Adobe apps) and rebooted, but nothing works. I've also uninstalled and then re-downloaded and installed Dreamweaver CC 2014, but that didn't help.
What do I try now?

I am hoping it is not rude to add my bit here but I am having exactly the same problem. I unistalled Dreamweaver and installed the 2014.....now I click on the icon it bounces twice and does not launch.
I have seen that the extension manager was used to resolve this issue by Montylee.....please can you tell me step by step how you did it as I have adobe extension now and keen to resolve this issue.
Also how do I unistall all traces of earlier versions I have that may be causing clashes?

InDesign CS5.5 won't launch after migration to new Mac
In my main user profile, InDesign will start to open and crap out after initializing Plug-ins. No error is reported. When I log into a test user account, I'll at least get this error, "InDesign quit unexpectedly":
I've tried trashing preferences and restarting, but no luck. My guess is I need to reinstall, but can't find a CS5.5 installer to download (the suite was bought via download originally). I'm not interested in upgrading to CC.
Running Mavericks.
Appreciate any help.I was able to download the InDesign installer from prodesigntools. But it won't recognize my serial number (which I'm getting from my account on Adobe's site).
I thought it be because my serial number is for the Design Standard Suite. So I went back to prodesigntools to download that installer, but am now getting "Access denied". I've tried in multiple browsers, cleared my cache and cookies, and in Chrome's incognito mode. I followed the directions explicity again but can't get to the CS5.5 Design Standard installer.
Any ideas? -
Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5 won't launch
Hi,
As the title states the program will not launch, I have not used it since upgrading to OSX Yosemite, however I did have to reinstall CS5.5 suite after it ceased working after the update. I also installed extension manager separately today to see if it resolved the issue, it did not.
With the program crashing on launch, i did some research and attempted to work around it by installing the extension I had found via terminal, it started but also crashed before completion.

To clarify for anyone who pops in:
1. Copy file
2. Rename to "filename.zip"
3. Unzip
4. Find the relevant .jsx (script) file. (in my case there was a manual folder)
I just used browse to test, but going to move the file to the relevant folder now. -
Dreamweaver MX 2004 won't launch. Please help!
My old laptop running Dreamweaver MX 2004 is dying, so I installed it on my new Windows XP laptop. I have installed it several times before and never had a problem. On the new laptop, when I launch Dreamweaver, it does not start. In Task Manager, I see a Dreamweaver process start, then two ~e5d141.tmp processes start, then they all disappear. One Macromedia Licensing.exe process remains for a few seconds or a minute, then it disappears too. Technical support said my license and registration are all okay. I installed the 7.0.1 upgrade but that had no effect. There is nothing the event logs. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling in safe mode, launching it in safe mode, disabling the graphic accelerator, and lowering my screen resolution to 1280x1024. I also tried several "Compatibility mode" settings. I cannot find any log or dump files, although I might not be looking in the right places or for the right file names. Can anybody please help me?

I had the exact same problem and came across your post. I've since solved it on my computer. I'm not sure what your level of computer expertise is and whether or not you're comfortable editing your registry, so I've dumbed-down the following instructions a bit - forgive me if they're too dumbed-down!
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type regedit
4. Click the OK button
5. Double click the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key (folder) on the left
6. Double click the SOFTWARE key
7. Double click the MACROMEDIA key
8. Right click the DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 key
9. Click Rename
10. Type a new name for the key, such as OLD DREAMWEAVER MX 2004
11. Press Enter
12. Try to start Dreamweaver again
If all goes well, Dreamweaver should open and re-create that DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 registry key from scratch. There's likely some corrupt data in it, though I haven't been able to figure out what. If I do, I'll let you know. -
Hello alltogether.
I've installed Design Premium CS5.5 Student for Mac fresh from Disc.
And directly after the Setup, all apps would run perfectly fine.
But Dreamweaver is the exception.
Everytime I want to start Dreamweaver, an error occurs.
This Error tells me, that i can't run Power PC Applications on Mountain Lion.
Today I tried to run the new Update.
I hoped that this Update would correct this.
But the Adobe Updater shows the error U44M1P7 for Dreamweaver.
I tried to install it manually with a download, but this throws the same error.
Is there a Solution for this?
I hope there is someone that can help me.

You can check your installation logs by following the steps listed at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html. There is information in this document for how to locate and interpret the log files.

Dreamweaver CS5.5 crashing on launch
We have a user who is having Dreamweaver Crash on a Windows XP (32 bit) machine. When she launches the application she sees the Dreamweaver splash screen; however, when it reaches "Initializing Extensions" the application just hangs. We have let it sit for over 15 minutes and ultimately the application never becomes responsive.
I have tried reinstalling the application and I have also tried updating with the patches from the Dreamweaver update site. The patches would not install, the installer just froze before it even started updating the program and letting it sit for an hour did not advance the installer at all. I have downloaded both the installer for Dreamweaver and the patches twice from different computers in the event that some of our web traffic monitoring devices may have itnerfered with the file transfers; however, this did not see to have any effect.
Unfortuantely, each time Dreamweaver crashes it does not present an error message. It writes to the event log; however, it is just an application hang event so I am not sure how useful that actually is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Could you please provide the specs of the machine? Memory, processor, service packs and available hard drive space. Also, you may want to clean up the pc a little bit, especially if it's an older one.
