Dreamweaver CS5 deprecated support

I recently upgraded to CS5 after having successfully used MS Access and Dreamweaver, MS Access and Ultradev, and even MS Access and Drumbeat before both Macromedia and Adobe.
I come to find out that ASP Javascript which is what I have been using is no longer supported.  I tried to get asp.net with VB to work but the new dreamweaver would not generate the MMHTTPDB.asp script needed for testing (yes I had the correct directory in my testing server setup).
OK I said... I'll learn Php.  Not without learning Mysql you won't said Adobe.  No setup available for Php and  MS Access.
I Downloaded the FREE Visual Studio Express and in less time than I spent trying to get CS5 to work was up and running generating pages for my site.
I find it quite ironic that I had to give Adobe $199 to have them push me entirely to Microsoft.  C'est la Vie!

You're absolutely correct....I should have done my homework.  I thought I would save some time.
Serendipitously however, I find myself in a better place.

  • Does Dreamweaver CS5.5 support in-app purchases for mobile apps?

    I am starting to take a look at developing a mobile app for my business and Dreamweaver CS5.5 looks like the platform I am going to use.  My question is this: do apps built this way have support for in-app purchases?
    Thanks.

    If you are asking can you develop it I don't see why not.  Just refer to the documentation from the appropriate Marketplace for details on setting up in-app purchasing restrictions and requirements.  If you are asking if there is a built-in function to make an easy "in-app purchase button" I would lean towards the No on this answer because I don't believe that is in DW.

  • Does Dreamweaver CS5 have support for if-then radio buttons?

    Does Dreamweaver CS5 have a built in option to create an if-then radio group?
    For example you have a question that includes a yes/no radio group.  If yes is selected then a 2nd question dynamically pops up with its own radio group.  If no is selected then no additional question pops up.
    An example might be:
    Would you like to purchase tickets?  [yes/no]
    If yes then would you like those to be season tickets? [yes/no]

    Natively, no.  But you could probably find some commercial extensions that give you similar capability - have you looked here?
    http://www.dmxzone.com
    It wouldn't be too hard to do this using DW behaviors, either.  For example, using the change property behavior, you could do this -
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function MM_changeProp(objId,x,theProp,theValue) { //v9.0
      var obj = null; with (document){ if (getElementById)
      obj = getElementById(objId); }
      if (obj){
        if (theValue == true || theValue == false)
          eval("obj.style."+theProp+"="+theValue);
        else eval("obj.style."+theProp+"='"+theValue+"'");
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="">
      <p>
        <label>Would you like to purchase tickets?</label>
          <input name="RadioGroup1" type="radio" id="RadioGroup1_0" value="yes" onclick="MM_changeProp('foo','','display','block','P')" />YES <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup1" value="no" id="RadioGroup1_1" /> NO</p>
      <p id="foo" style="display:none;">
        <label>Would you like season tickets?</label>
          <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup2" value="yes" id="RadioGroup2_0" />YES <input type="radio" name="RadioGroup2" value="no" id="RadioGroup2_1" /> NO</p>

  • Dreamweaver CS5 download support

    I have been using Dremweaver for years for a family website. Currently, I have the CS5 Suite. It has more than enough features for me. Sadly, my Dell Win 7 laptop has disk errors so I bought a new Dell. Is there anyway I can download and install my old CS5 software. The new CC approach is WAY more than I need and the pricing model is a bit steep and continuous.
    Thanks,
    Roger

    Download the trial version from http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
    Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first BEFORE you click the download links.
    Install and enter your serial number to license the trial on your computer.

  • Can dreamweaver cs5 support asp?

    Hi
    I don't usually work with asp and wondered if Dreamweaver cs5 could support making changes to a classic asp page? Years ago it used to be that you could not open an ASP page in dreamweaver or it would overwrite the database strings.
    Do I need to do anything to Dreamweaver to create / amend asp pages in CS5 ? Does it support ASP?
    thanks
    Jane

    >Years ago it used to be that you could not open an ASP
    >page in dreamweaver or it would overwrite the database strings.
    It must have been many, many years ago. I've been using DW since MX and it never did that.
    >Do I need to do anything to Dreamweaver to create
    >/ amend asp pages in CS5 ? Does it support ASP?
    It depends. Are the existing pages using DW server behaviors? Which programming language is being used?

  • Dreamweaver cs5 problems and adobe support close the case on you

    I emailed Adobe support with the message below and they closed the case on me and told me to go over to the developers connection website and open a case there. Well of course there is no where to open a case there, it brings you back to the normal support pages, so I opened a case again!
    This is just one of the flaws in Cs5 I've found from intensive useage yesterday.
    1. Hangs for nearly 2 minutes if you use an external link to ny file like jquery in the header of the pages - detailed below
    2. Sometimes when selecting a related file it says "not on server" and actually tries to open ANOTHER ftp connection listed. It switches connection and then says"not on server" - well of course not....because it just changed to another server! However many time you change it back, it won't have it.
    3. The pop up css is a good idea but not well thought out. I have to right click to get inspect but when I roll over the areas it doesn't show the css in the css panel. If I right click and select to show the code, it shows me the css, I then have to click it to select it in the left column. All very long winded... WHY NOT JUST CLICK AN AEA ON THE LIVE VIEW PAGE AND IT SHOWS THE CSS THERE INSTANTLY TO EDIT?!
    4. On first open after a quit and relaunch, or restart, switching from normal view to live view hangs Dreamweaver for over a minute before live view is displayed.
    Very very buggy and I feel I have paid for a beta version.
    Hello I now have Dreamweaver CS5.
    It has MAJOR flaw.
    If a webpage contains the code
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script>#
    It takes over 1 minute to open each page after launching
    This is caused by the 'related files' facility
    THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE in software which is this expensive.
    All design companies such as us use jquery.
    Please fix this flaw asap or supply me with a fix. Turning of related files
    helps but if I was to do that what would be the point in
    having that facility? (which I am paying for!)

    Hi,
    Appreciate your reply and accept what you say, I'll take on board the suggestions.
    My answers under yours below
    Second, the Bug Report form is here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform .  Technical support is not a bug reporting center, nor are they developers which is why they probably closed your case. And there really are not any questions in your support request it reads like a bug report and an angry one at that, not even starting out calm, shouting almost immediately.
    - Frustration, I've been up all night, hours messing with it.
    Thanks for the link, I'll post to that. I personally don't agree that bugs this big should be present in software of such high upgrade fee's and which should have been tested but I guess we all know its the way of the world now.
    1.  Why are you working with remote website files that are not part of your domain and not in your local site?  This is a bad practice to get in the habit of.  If their website shuts down, so does the functionality of yours.  Many here will argue that point.
    - This is a valid point I've come across before and reading up on it I found it was said that the site in question was on cloud servers, mirrored etc. The link I posted was from someone elses post who was having a similar problem. I personally use the flowplay/jquery main link which has ALL the jquery plugins/effects so whatever is used on that page works.
    http://cdn.jquerytools.org/1.1.2/full/jquery.tools.min.js
    We did this as it seemed that was what everyone was doing, it seems I am wrong and I take on board your comments about downloading the file.
    2.  "Sometimes".  That is the key word in your statement.  Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.  What happens when it says "Sometimes not on server" and what happens in the other times.  What's different?  It's usually hard to believe it's random luck.  But developers in a bug report need to know these things.  What's different about the file(s)?  Is it with certain file(s), type(s), etc?  How would it open another FTP connection, do you have multiple FTP locations defined within one site definition?
    I probably used the wrong word in 'sometimes' - A better description would be "some of the related files". When live view is on the right and code on the left, related files across the top. If I hover my mouse over the files, it tells me where they are. This info is incorrect on 'some' of the files, not all of them but about 8 out of 10.
    It shows the file as being in the folder of another account in the site defs, but its not in there, it's in the one I'm working on (and which is live in the ftp file window). So if I click on the file to view it, it says its not available, and asks if I want to download it from the server. That doesn't work because it then tries to switch the ftp connection to the other site and download.
    I thought it was muddled so I removed all the ftp sites and set up just one, the one I was working on. But that didn't work... it then thinks the related files are in "unnamed site 1" - anywhere but looking in its own folder or on its own ftp server!
    4.  You seem to be referring to Question #1 here so that is answered.
    "Please fix this flaw asap or supply me with a fix." - So you are saying Please fix this flaw with a patch or give me the patch.  Again, this sounds like you want to file a bug report and not create a support request.
    - Accepted, you are right, its a bug report, just they directed me to the developer website and I kept ending up here, so began to believe this is where I should be posting.
    "All design companies such as us use jquery".  - While I wouldn't be so quick to say all, but rather most, I would say see my answer to #1.  Why make your site dependent on someone else's?
    - Accepted, I appreciate your honest comments and critism and fot taking the time to reply :-)

  • Adobe recommends: Enhanced support for CSS3 in Dreamweaver CS5.5

    Over  the past week, we publicized some high-value content from adobe.com and other community sites. Hopefully you enjoyed these posts and found the resources useful. Today is our last day of the "Adobe Recommends" series.
    Continuing our trip along the CSS highway, we now move to CSS3 with our next recommendation, by Preran Kurnool:

    No need to apologize. Preprocessing is a topic on which there are differing opinions. You have one. I have one. There are advocates:
    http://blog.urbaninsight.com/2012/04/12/ten-reasons-you-should-be-using-css-preprocessor
    There are those who are not sold:

    There are those mostly sold:

    There are even those who have been converted (but who might reverse at some later point):
    http://cognition.happycog.com/article/preprocess-this
    Heck, even I might be converted someday - or not
    Bottom line for me, right now? I know I can write CSS that is better than most, more efficient than most, and easier to follow than most, and a preprocessor would add unwanted complexity. But that's for me. For someone not able to be organized intutively, or for a large - but carefully coordinated - team, a preprocessor could be a positive.
    But not for me.
    There are evolving trends - popular aspects of the technology that may and should find themselves being adapted into CSS. But I've been around this business as long as CSS has. I've seen buzzwords and trends and I've historically been spot-on in predicting the one that will stick. I think preprocessing will stick - but only insofar as it will be a catalyst for features in future versions of CSS. As a separate technology it makes no sense - to me

  • Dreamweaver CS5 is not Supported on This Type of Mac

    I recently got a new iMac and went to reinstal my CS5 Web Premium Student Edition and only installed Dreamweaver. I was able to use it yesterday fine. Today when I booted up. the dreamweaver icon has a anti symbol over it and says "you can't open the application "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5" because it is not supported on this type of mac."
    What went wrong and what do I need to do to fix it? Thanks!

    I am running OSx 10.9 and I do not see anything about Roseta or Intel when viewing the info about the app. After I used DW yesterday fine, I ran the auto updates from within DW and perhaps when I rebooted this morning is when it broke.  I just now uninstalled CS5 and reinstalled DW (I'm not using the other apps). It has updates to do but scared..
    It wants to update the following:
    Adobe Device Central CS
    Adove Dreamweaver
    - Adobe player
    - CS Live Service
    - Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 updater
    - Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 update
    I haven't tried yet to update because either that or some other stange thing happened. I've never seen an app with an anti symbol over it.

  • HTML 5 and CSS 3 Support In Dreamweaver CS5

    I cannot find any information on this web site about whether and how Dreamweaver CS5 supports HTML 5 and CSS 3. There are lots of other fancy high-end whiz-bang technologies highlighted in CS5, but without support for HTML 5 and CSS 3, Adobe has left a great big hole in the middle of the new Dreamweaver. If I'm going to have to code these by hand, then there's little incentive for me to upgrade from CS4. Adobe may, by this oversight, intend to extend the useful life of Flash, but if this is so it's penny wise and pound foolish. There is much to like about Flash - and much to dislike about how it works on the user side. Leaving these problems unresolved hurts Flash, and leaving HTML 5 and CSS 3 support out of Dreamweaver hurts Dreamweaver. In other words, this is a lose-lose strategy.

    Hi Scott
    Sorry for the delay in replying, but I turn my internet connection off when working, otherwise I have found I tend to do more research than work.
    Media-Queries:
    I had viewed the video on the possible implementation of media-queries when it was first released, and in most respects the implementation is as I would expect, but it would be helpful if it was, (in a future development of the use) possible to show a list of 'common' smartphone/handheld devices, (makes/models) within the dreamweaver interface that would be usable with the screen size being used, (possibly as an import from the 'device central' device list as a drop-down list). My reason for asking for this feature is primarily as a time saving feature for the css layouts via media-queries as it would then show the targeted/usable devices in a list, and possibly alleviate the requirement of developing layouts that are not really required.
    Video:
    At the moment I am using the video feature as you have indicated where possible, and am doing so with the use of IECC's for IE as a fall-back for that browser. I have tried targeting versions if Firefox and Safari that support the video element by testing for it with JavaScript, but I have found this unreliable, possibly when the standard is finalized this may be the better method.
    SVG:
    I personally have decided to go with svg in preference to canvas. I have seen a few 'wow' factor demo's produced using canvas but as they use cross-compiled java to javascript code they are in reality showing nothing that has not been done before, (If we had 4Ghz processors with multi-core in 1999 similar trial graphics in vml would have worked just as good then, showing my age here!).
    My current work-flow with svg is - Inkscape - Modify the code by hand/preview in a browser - copy/past the code into dreamweaver.
    The current in-line implementation of svg's in the IE9 preview is where I see the main future of the svg implementations, as this makes using svg's for graphic elements and basic animations much more viable/easier for the average designer/developer, and lets not forget that as it is a vector it is ideal for resizeable background images in fluid/liquid layouts.
    I should say here, that I will for the foreseeable future use flash/swf's for more complex animations, as these are still much better quality than anything that can be achieved with svg or canvas.
    I would like to see the possibility of using Fireworks for the creation of svg's, and a work flow similar to that available between fireworks and dreamweaver at the moment.
    Cache manifest and database:
    As you have rightly grouped these two together, (and I cannot really envision a situation that they would not be used so) the situation with these is for me, (when trying to create the code for use) the necessity of 'remembering' what I must include in the cache and the transfer of the data for the database.
    Both are probably better explained with a typical scenario -
    A new research/development firm has developed the technology and parts to upgrade an autos internal combustion engine to an hydrogen powered engine. However the products list is specific to the motor manufacturers engine type, and to make matters worse the sales department also wishes an off-line version of the demos and parts list to be available to its sales team and customers, (o/k, maybe this is not a typical scenario, but it does demonstrate the usage).
    When developing the 'custom' html 5' enabled page I would require the cache manifest to include all necessary javascript/images/videos that would be required for the particular auto manufacturer to be available off-line, and compiling the list must be done at present by hand making it subject to possible errors.
    As for the database, (manufacturer specific) this must also be available off-line and updateable by the sales person and customer, as they are not always on-line and no hard-copys of material will be produced, (except when printed by the mechanic).
    My solution for me regarding the cache manifest would possibly be a dialogue in dreamweaver that would show all resources associated with the auto manufacturers model type used in the html site. I have used namespaces, (or some form of identifier) for general and model specific javascript, and a model identifying code for images and videos. The dialogue would then allow me to filter the resources required using the namespaces and identifier and include them in the list as required, possibly in much the same way that items are moved from a general list to a more specific list when creating the 'favourites' toolbar in dreamweaver.
    The database is on first appearance much simpler, as I would simply download the database using the motor_id as a filter, (yes Scott, you can see where I am going with this ) for those who cannot this would be wrong. You have correctly seen the problem with doing this, but I will explain for those who have not. The sales person and the customer would not see any of the images or videos that have references stored in the database, as these are just references and not the actual images/videos, yes one could use 'BLOB' for storing the items but this is not in my experience a reliable method. What is required is some form of method that would also download these items and place them into the required file position for off-line viewing, (which is what the cache manifest would do).
    So I would also require the possibility to add dynamically to the cache manifest from an sql database at the same time as the 'save for off-line' option is generated, (I have experimented with doing this in a similar manner that xml is created from an sql database).
    That's it for the html 5.
    Accessibility:
    For checking I use the firefox accessibility extension and total validator extension first, then the WAVE evaluation tool.
    But for Dreamweaver I would like to see the inclusion of the ARIA options as standard, especially when developing 'rich-internet-applications' particularly the aria-live and role options. I often find it interesting in discussions about html 5 where it is seen by many as a 'new' mark-up' language for the web, but rarely seen in the context of helping in accessibility when used correctly. Even the html 5 spec contains a section on using the new mark-up as part of accessibility and how the ARIA roles should be applied, (see - http://www.whatwg.org/specs/web-apps/current-work/multipage/content-models.html#annotation s-for-assistive-technology-products-%28aria%29).
    The inclusion of an extra live-view option in dreamweaver that render the page in 'screen reader' mode would also be a possible accessibility checking help. This could be done by simply turning off the background-images 'on-mass' and rendering any items as they would be seen by a screen reader. As most screen readers do now parse JavaScript and css, it would illustrate the problems of using such techniques as light-boxes without using the aria-live role to tell users that the light-box in now the focus of the page.
    For anyone who has stayed with this post, my sincere thanks, and any comments on the content would be welcome.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 PHP 5.3 support.

    Hi,
    Anyone know where I can get more details about:
    The currently supported PHP version in Dreamweaver CS5.
    The status of support for PHP 5.3 (if it's coming, when, or are there plugins.)
    I very much like the new features in the CS5 version, but I need PHP 5.3 support, too.
    Thank you for your help,
    Adam

    Dreamweaver supports any version of PHP. However, Dreamweaver's code hints support only PHP 5.2. If you want the support to be upgraded, submit a feature request through the form at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 on Lion Opens but then won't work

    I'm using Dreamweaver CS5 with Lion 10.7.2 on a new iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. I've had the machine about 2 weeks and Dreamweaver worked fine. Yesterday what happened was that I can launch the program but cannot use it.  Anytime I click any menu item in the program like the file menu or help menu I get a spining ball. I can't open files in Dreamwever from outside or inside it. I can't do anything at all in Dreamweaver.  I wait a long time and the spinning ball doesn't stop.  I didn't do anything new except add ram to the computer and the ram works fine and shows up in "about this Mac"  and has caused no problems. This Dreamweaver is a part of CS5 Web Premium and whatever the problem is it has not effected Photoshop CS5.  In fact I have no problems anywhere else on my computer except for Dreamweaver.
    I've tried the following solutions that I saw in these and other forums and nothing works:
    1) in Dreamweaver preferences changed the following:
    [REMOTE DOWNLOAD]
    remotedownloadcachesize=50
    remotedownloadallow=TRUE
    to
    [REMOTE DOWNLOAD]
    remotedownloadcachesize=50
    remotedownloadallow=TRUE
    resolveremoteurltoipaddress=FALSE
    That didn't work so I changed it back.
    2) repaired disk permission on my hard disk from disk utilities, then verified the hard disk and it was ok, restarted various times.
    3) tried replacing preferences and app support from previous days in time machine when it work but no change.
    4) deledted com.adobe.Dreamweaver.11.plist from preferences.  That didn't work so put it back
    5) checked and remade permisions for user at ~/library/application support/adobe/dreamweaver cs5 but the permissions were already at read & write
    6) renamed ~/library/application support/adobe/dreamweaver cs5 folder and restarted Dreamweaver
    7) renamed ~/library/application support/adobe/dreamweaver cs5/en_US/Configuration and restarted Dreamweaver
    8) deleted ~/library/application support/adobe/dreamweaver cs5 and restarted Dreamweaver
    9) uninstalled Dreamweaver using Dreamweaver's uninstall app and reinstalled it from my disk and updated it.
    10) tried using Dreamweaver from a different user login and it worked, but I need it to work in THIS login.  I can find no way that this user is corrupt.
    I hope someone has an idea of what to do.

    New info. My husband just installed the older version of Firefox, and it is also not responding. Again without ever seeing a request for a response from him.

    I was just looking at the mobile phone application tools in Dreamweaver CS5.5.
    I have a new mac, downloaded and installed Dreamweaver CS5.5, installed an update for it, then installed iOS Xcode, and within Dreamweaver attempted to install the Android SDK  (this failed using the easy install, so I had to install it manually.

    For the kind of money that Adobe charges, my expectation is that the Adobe software should be of the highest caliber. Wish I had known. I would not have  saved for months in order to buy 5.5. I bought Dreamweaver specifically for the mobile piece. I'm disappointed to say the least. I think there is something VERY wrong when users have to supply the fixes and/or search for days or months for help. This is inexcuseable from a software company as well known as Adobe. When I purchase a product that is this costly, I just expect it to work.
    Currently, thanks to a fellow Dreamweaver user, I managed to get the Adroid sdk and emulator working early this morning. This after days of searching and thinking that I must be doing something wrong. It had to be me. It couldn't be Adobe.
    Come on, having to tweek an internal xml file in order to get the Android emulator to work from Dreamweaver? How many of us could find this fix ourselves?
    Xcode is still in limbo giving me the error messages mentioned in this thread. Now it appears that we as users are expected to go in and tweek .h camera files in hopes the fix will work? This is ridiculous. Where is the adobe support and updates to deal with all of this? Seems a little like false advertising to say that mobile apps with compile to code. Steamed? You bet.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 fails to open XP-Resolution Here!

    Hi,
    We had an issue with Dreamweaver CS5 opening under a standard user on XP Pro SP3.
    The resolution....
    Open msconfig and disable everything to do with Adobe. Simple! Don't mess with config files, re-install; it doesn't work! Stopping Adobe things from running seems to so far.
    Before Dreamweaver will show the green startup box and then completly close, no error, warning, crash, etc.
    The proceedure as follows:-
    Start > Run...   type msconfig
    Startup Tab
    Untick anythings that has Adobe in its program line/path
    Click Apply/OK
    Restart
    Tick the box for the msconfig window to not show, then click ok if it shows up.
    Open Dreamweaver, worked a treat on ones I tried. This solution also works for Bridge CS5 not opening and crashing (Bridge has stopped working) under Windows 7 x64; even after Adobe looked at the issue and were clueless!
    If you want any more info, let me know.

    Sorry I can't be more help. This is a user to user forum, and I'm a designer rather than a technician. How about contacting Adobe Technical support?

  • How to enable syntax highlighting for jspf files on Dreamweaver CS5.5 on Mac

    I ran into an issue where I couldn't get the color coding (color coding style) for java server pages fragments (.jspf) files to show syntax highliting.
    I followed the adobe instructions on Changing and adding file extensions recognized by Dreamweaver without any luck.
    Here is the solution that worked for me:
    On a Mac:
    1. Edit the /Users/YOUR USER/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/DocumentTypes/MMDocumetTypes.xml
    Note: the Adobe instructions tell you to edit /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5/Configuration/DocumentTypes/MMDocumetTypes.xml (Editing this file didn't do anything for me, so you need to change the file above instead)
    Find,
    <documenttype id="JSP" servermodel="JSP" internaltype="Dynamic" winfileextension="jsp,jst" macfileextension="jsp,jst" file="Default.jsp" writebyteordermark="false" mimetype="text/html">
    Replace with,
    <documenttype id="JSP" servermodel="JSP" internaltype="Dynamic" winfileextension="jsp,jst,jspf" macfileextension="jsp,jst,jspf" file="Default.jsp" writebyteordermark="false" mimetype="text/html">
    2. Edit the /Users/YOUR USER/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Extensions.txt
    In the All: section on top add the jspf extention right after jsp in my example it looked like this
    HTM,HTML,SHTM,SHTML,HTA,HTC,XHTML,STM,SSI,JS,JSON,AS,ASC,ASR,XML,XSL,XSD,DTD,XSLT,RSS,RDF, LBI,DWT,ASP,ASA,ASPX,ASCX,ASMX,CONFIG,CS,CSS,CFM,CFML,CFC,TLD,TXT,PHP,PHP3,PHP4,PHP5,PHP-D IST,PHTML,JSP,WML,TPL,LASSO,JSF,VB,VBS,VTM,VTML,INC,SQL,JAVA,EDML,MASTER,INFO,INSTALL,THEME,CONFIG,MODU LE,PROFILE,ENGINE,SVG:All
    and I added the jspf and it looks like this now,
    HTM,HTML,SHTM,SHTML,HTA,HTC,XHTML,STM,SSI,JS,JSON,AS,ASC,ASR,XML,XSL,XSD,DTD,XSLT,RSS,RDF, LBI,DWT,ASP,ASA,ASPX,ASCX,ASMX,CONFIG,CS,CSS,CFM,CFML,CFC,TLD,TXT,PHP,PHP3,PHP4,PHP5,PHP-D IST,PHTML,JSP,JSPF,WML,TPL,LASSO,JSF,VB,VBS,VTM,VTML,INC,SQL,JAVA,EDML,MASTER,INFO,INSTALL,THEME,CONFIG,MODU LE,PROFILE,ENGINE,SVG:All
    That's it, Quit Dreamweaver and open it up again. Open the .jspf file and see the color coding (syntax highlighting)
    Hope this helps you and seves you time figuring it out. If this helped, do a good thing, next time you figure something out, tell others about it to save their time too, like I did. Enjoy.

    I don't seem to have a user Library folder, my only Library folder is on the same level as my Users folder.
    From Locating your personal configuration folder in the Dreamweaver FAQ:
    In Mac OS X (Lion and Mountain Lion), open Finder and press Shift-Cmd-Go. Type ~/Library/Application Support in the dialog box, and click Go. You should then be able to find the configuration folder.
