  • Dreamweaver CS5 to CS6

I use to have Dreamweaver cs5 and I had created 2 websites from the program.  I now have Dreamweaver cs6 but I do not know how to import my recent webpages into cs6.  My webpage folders are on my desktop but when I click import site the open button is grayed out.  It says that my webpages must be in .ste but they are just in folders.  Can someone please advise on what I am to do?

    Hi,
Just to keep things organized, here is what I would do....
Create a new folder in your MyDocuments folder (assuming you are on a PC, or a similar location for the Mac)  and move your site folders there. Reason? Desk Tops tend to get really cluttered - it is safer and more organized to have an "official" Web Sites folder where you keep all, but only your  web site projects.
In Dreamweaver CS6 go ahead and create new web sites and then point them to the appropriate folders in your new Web Sites folder. - True this will mean taking a few extra minutes and re-entering the FTP information, but this is a more sure process than trying to import.
This way you'll have your sites moved into a clean and tidy place and reliable site definitions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where can I buy an upgrade from Dreamweaver CS5 to CS6?

I am looking to get an upgrade from my current Dreamweaver CS 5.0 to CS 6.0
    I found this upgrade
Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 Upgrade from CS5.5 WIN/MAC [Download]
that is from CS5.5 to 6.0, but I don't know if it will ONLY work with CS5.5 or if it will also upgrade the 5.0 version as well
Anyone know how i can upgrade my dreamweaver to version 6?

I'm reasonably certain the upgrade you found at that third party site would not work with your version.
But it looks like you still qualify for partial upgrade pricing through Adobe, it drops from $399 for the full version to $249 going from 5.0 to 6.0 (skipping 5.5)...
    http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_c reativesuite6.html?promoid=KFPHB
    1. Click the Buy link under the Dreamweaver CS6 $399..00 price.
    2. Change "I want to buy" to "Upgrade"
    3. Change "I own" to "CS5" and the price changes to the Upgrade Pricing
If you had 5.5, the price would only be $125 to upgrade through Adobe (that third party site is charging a little more than Adobe does for the same upgrade).

  • Deployed Acrobat XI and Dreamweaver CS5/CS6 MSI issue

    Hello everybody,
After many hours trying different cases I identified my problem, but I don't have any solution !
I deployed Acrobat XI with an MSI created with the Adobe tool.
When I wanted to deploy Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 (or CS6) created with Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition I had a 1603 error.
If I install the Dreamweaver MSI without having Acrobat installed no problem.
If I install Dreamweaver manually with Acrobat MSI installed no problem.
If I install manually Acrobat and deploy the Dreamweaver MSI package no problem neither.
I recreated both Acrobat and Dreamweaver packages, but it's all the same!
If you have any idea that could help it will be welcome !

  • I orginally bought Dreamweaver CS5.5, and I later upgraded to CS6.

I orginally bought Dreamweaver CS5.5, and I later upgraded to CS6 by downloading and entering the product code.  Recently I had to reinstall Windows so I no longer have CS6.  Is there some way of getting it back?  I have the product key.
Second, this is the fourth time I have entered this message on pages leading up to this one.  Is there any way of just entering the question once?

    Hello,
did you find this: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html and please note "Important: Download the files from a browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer."
What concerns your question about "Second": Provided I understand you in the right way, naturally it is. BUT, when you don't get an answer it means nothing more and nothing less than no one had a solution for you. And please don't forget, here the most are users not Adobe's employees.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start, cannot find configuration file

Dreamweaver Could not locate the Resource file in the Configuration folder. This file is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application.
Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start due to the error message above.
Found the configuration folder but on my roaming profile on the server, not on C drive.
Note that I installed Dreamweaver on the second partition of the hard disk, not on C drive due to lack of space. Other Adobe CS5 software are running well such as Photoshop and InDesign.
I have tried to delete (after backup) the Configuration folder, as I read on this forum that it should be automatically recreated, but no success. Tried to copy the Configuration folder (in fact the entire Adobe folder) to the user profile on C drive, but no success.
On this PC, no previous version of Dreamweaver has been installed. However, I have used older versions on different computers, and there are in the Adobe folder on my roaming profile traces of CS4 and CS6.
    Could you please advise?

Not sure which thread you have read on this forum but I suggest read this official document and then see if resolves any lingering problems.

  • Dreamweaver CS5.5 won't open

    Hello alltogether.
I've installed Design Premium CS5.5 Student for Mac fresh from Disc.
And directly after the Setup, all apps would run perfectly fine.
    But Dreamweaver is the exception.
Everytime I want to start Dreamweaver, an error occurs.
This Error tells me, that i can't run Power PC Applications on Mountain Lion.
Today I tried to run the new Update.
I hoped that this Update would correct this.
But the Adobe Updater shows the error U44M1P7 for Dreamweaver.
I tried to install it manually with a download, but this throws the same error.
Is there a Solution for this?
I hope there is someone that can help me.
    Greetings,
    Fabian Grunau

Narwahls did you receive any error messages during the install process?  You can check your installation logs by following the steps listed at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6  - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.  There is information in this document for how to locate and interpret the log files.

  • CS5 and CS6 SFTP error

OS is Windows Vista HP SP2, using DW CS5 Ver 11.0 Build 4909. I have two websites I used to connect through SFTP, but all of a sudden stopped working, no visible reason. Getting the infamous "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. An error occurred. Please contact yoiur administrator."
SFTP to either website using the same credentials from the same computer works with FileZilla, WinSCP.
CS5, installed in a Win 7 Pro computer, on the same LAN, works correctly when trying to connect using SFTP.
Uninstalled CS5 in the Vista machine using Revo uninstaller and following up with a manual search and delete of files, folders and registry entries for the program, then reinstalled the program, same problem.
Repeated uninstall process and then Installed CS6 trial on the Vista machine. Tried SFTP - same error.
Reset the TCP/IP stack on the Vista machine, just in case - no dice.
Tried CS6 on the desktop Win 7 machine, worked no problem.
Searched for the ssh_hosts file in %appdata%\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS5\en_US\Configuration in the Vista machine only to find there isn't one. Just in case I copied the one found in the Win 7 machine and placed it in the Vista machine - no difference in behavior. SFTP still doesn't work.
Windows Firewall is turned off. Kaspersky Internet Security, the security software installed in the Vista machine, was disabled. No difference. Also same security software is installed in the Windows 7 machine, so that's not a variable.
Used Process Monitor to log exactly what happens when each machine was told to establish the SFTP connection, and Dreamweaver.exe behaves differently in each machine, i.e. they don't perform the same steps.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello,
It seems that you don't have updated version of Dreamweaver CS5. That update includes critical fix for the SFTP protocol.
Please update your Dreamweaver CS5 using below link

Please make sure you restart your computer after this.

  • Using Dreamweaver CS5 with other CS4 programs

I want to purchase Dreamweaver CS5 for my work computer because it is the same version I have on my personal computer, and I want the two to be compatible. However, there are other Adobe CS4 programs on my work computer (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.). Will any problems arise by having Dreamweaver CS5 and other CS4 programs on the same computer? Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Are you intending to purchase a standalone version of Dreamweaver CS5?
Your work computer has probably got a CS4 Creative Suite installed (Design Premium CS4?).
You won't be able to upgrade Dreamweaver CS4 (from the Suite) on your work computer to standalone Dreamweaver CS5. It's not a valid upgrade path.
Tip: CS6 is due to be released very soon.
    http://store.adobe.com/store/en_us/popup/offer/cs55_cs6_faqchannel.html
Although free upgrades from CS5 (purchased after 26 March 2012) are available, there is some paperwork involved. In your position, I personally prefer to wait until CS6 ships - unless CS5 is really the version you want, of course.

  • The FTP function in Dreamweaver CS5 has suddenly stopped working. My ISP just had to upgrade their FTP servers and they said it was no longer compatible with the FTP in Dreamweaver CS5! Help!!

Is there any update to Dreamweaver CS5 that will allow the FTP function to be compatible with the new FTP server protocol? Please help. Will I need to upgrade to CS6?

Ask in the DW forum and be much more specific about the requirements for your FTP connection like its ports, TLS settings and so on.

  • FTP Connection Issues Dreamweaver CS5.5

I can't ftp into the top level directory of any of my hosting accounts with dreamweaver cs5.5
This is becoming a major issue and I'm aware now of other users with the same issue.
First  log in to an ftp server works fine - the test case directory is created  and deleted - and I think it is this which is causing some odd  permissions issue.
Second time you try to log in, the connection is made,  but then any directory listing times out. However if I define a  directory such as /public_html/images/ then it will connect and display  directory listings just fine.  Clicking "Test" in the server definition dialog results in an OK message.
If i FTP in using a different FTP Client (in this case  Transmit) and upload a single file, the issue goes away, and  dreamweaver can again connect - one time only, until I perform this odd  "reset".
This happens on all FTP connections across multiple  hosting companies (all of the hosting companies my clients sites are  stored at).
    FTP log is below:
    < 257 "/www"
< 220 Welcome to Proweb Server FTP service (JubJub).
      > USER winfo
< 331 Please specify the password.
      > PASS
      < 230 Login successful.
      > PWD
      < 257 "/"
      > CWD /
      < 250 Directory successfully changed.
      > CWD /www
      < 250 Directory successfully changed.
      > PWD
      < 257 "/www"
Then it waits for a while before  giving me the following error message (I've extended timeout to anything  up to a couple of minutes, no difference):
Toggling the "USE Passive FTP"  checkbox may help you establish a connection. -Select or de-select the  checkbox and click Test to tray again.
-if you are connecting  using an IPv6 enabled server, please select the "USE IPv6 transfer mode"  checkbox in the Advanced site definition dialog.
If  the problem persists, check you network settings, including the local  firewall settings on your computer, or consult your network  administrator.
I have tried PASV checked and unchecked, performance optimisation, and every other combination available to me. I am not connecting through a proxy.
The  settings on ALL of my sites worked before the cs5.5 upgrade. The  settings on NONE of my sites with a root directory specified work since  the upgrade.  The only thing that has changed is the move to dreamweaver  cs5.5.  I can connect with other ftp clients.  my ftp server settings  are correct. My server and network settings are unchanged. The settings on ALL my sites on other FTP clients continue to work fine.
Am on an i7 2.8GHz Intel iMac running 10.6.7 with 8 gigs of RAM. I have quit all software except dreamweaver and tried running my mac firewall both on and off.
Really running out of ideas, and know of other people with the same issue since the upgrade - what's going on Adobe?!

Same for me, in that I had an unreliable and effectively unusable FTP connection with CS5.5 . I've reverted to CS5, because even though I'll miss a couple of the new features I need to have a working connection to the site when working with PHP - because otherwise I can't see my site at all other than via Firefox. I also suspect that at least a couple of times I've had some sort of corruption occur as a result of the FTP hanging. All was okay before CS5.5, and I may have slagged off a different hosting provider than my present one when it was in fact (at least in part) a DW issue. If it isn't fixed in CS6 then CS6 is unusable for me and I'd definitely be happier with 'unenhanced' CS5 FTP functionality. The theoretical performance gains with the CS5.5 implementation are trivial by comparison with the problems. If all else fails, please revert to CS5 code for the FTP side of things.
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is now fixed for me. The problem was that I did not have a proper web url entered in my site definition for the remote server. I'm not sure how that was placing any limitation on FTP access - after all, the need for a full site definition was removed a couple of software issues ago - but the fact is that with the correct web address entered I have working FTP on CS6 (and seemingly on CS5.5 too). I had a simple forward slash entered for the web address, probably as a result of some earlier investigation of the local server/remote server relationships for file upload on a PHP site. I was running CS5 with the correct Web Url entered, so that was working and the CS5.5, without the correct Web Url, was not. I vaguely remember reading that the Web Url was connected with DWs management of absolute/relative links and not much else, but it seems that is not the case. The new FTP is MUCH faster and I'm a happy guy. Site menu>>>Manage sites>>>[select your site]>>>Edit>>>Servers>>>[2-click your server]>>>Web URL:    Put in the full URL e.g. http://www.somesite.com . Not sure if you need a trailing / after, but I have one.
UPDATING AGAIN: Through all of that I had turned on the  'IPv6 protocol' and 'Passive FTP' options in an attempt to get working. The result of that was FTP that worked well once transferring files but often took a while to hook up. Deselecting those, and using CS6, I'm happy with my FTP.

  • Importing site from CS5 to CS6

I have been moving my sites from CS5 to CS6.  At the same time I am making the switch to FTPS for all the sites.
On one specific site, I exported, imported into CS6, then made the FTPS changes needed for Yahoo hosted sites.  However, I failed to remember that this site has a different password, which I don't have access to, and I typed over the password.
I thought if I deleted the site in CS6 and imported the .ste from CS5, I would restore the password.  Alas, I am getting a password/login failure error message.
Was my logic in the re-importing invalid?
I also tried to cut/paste the password from the CS5 site I still had available into the CS6 site, but this did not work either.
Any suggestions other than contact Yahoo for assistance?

One other thing that you can do with respect to usernames and passwords on sites is to use Apple's Keychain Access. The folks at Adobe were very smart and they place usernames and passwords into your Keychain Access file every time you create a site and give it a server.
Simply go to your Spotlight search and type "Keychain Access" then click on it and look for your site. You will have to enter your user password to view passwords in Keychain Access, but it will let you re-establish your connection with your web host if you define a new site and mess things up in Dreamweaver.
