Dreamweaver CS6 - Column Templates - Only 2 template choices

Hello,
Hoping someone can help with my issue.
When I chose to create a new document, I only have 2 choices for column layout templates (2 column fixed, right sidebar, header and footer OR 3 column fixed, header and footer).
I have updated and downloaded the 2014 version hoping that would provide additional choices but that did not change anything. I also restoring the default version but that didn't produce any other choices either.
This is the process I followed for creating a new document using a template.
NEW>HTML
I appreciate any assistance.
Thanks!

How many columns do you want? You can modify the available starter pages pretty much however you want with a few lines of CSS code. That's why there's only 2 to choose from.
You can create whatever layout you desire using the FluidGrid Layouts Feature or the Bootstrap Responsive Extension for DW. In both cases, your layouts will be optimized to work on mobile, tablets and desktops which is the current trend in Web Design.

• Dreamweaver CS6-updating template doesn't update pages, update screen hangs

I'm working with a dwt file provided with shopping cart software which I purchased from a third party developer. I've made changes on the main.dwt provided to personalize it for my business. To begin with, everything seemed to be going smoothly, but then at some point, updating the template stopped updating the pages dependent on it, unless the pages are actually open in Dreamweaver. Even when the pages are open, however, the "Update files dependent on" box seems to hang. If I click "close" it asks if I want to stop updating the site. It's very cumbersome to have to open every page in the site in order to get the changes in the template to propagate to the pages. I'm running CS6 on Windows 7 Home Premium. My site is not yet published, so I can't provide a link to it. It's still on the drawing board.

Is the .dwt template file still within the Dreamweaver generated Templates folder in your site root?
index.html <--your site's home page
Templates <-- the Templates folder on same level as site home page
yourtemplate.dwt <-- your .dwt file
If it's not, that can cause all kinds of problems in DW.

• Selection missing in Dreamweaver CS6

I'm following the Adobe video tutorial by Adobe Evangelist Paul Trani, entitled "Getting Started with Creating Mobile Apps and Websites with Design and Web Premium CS6." Early in the video, Trani starts out in Dreamweaver with this:
File > New > Page from Sample > Mobile Starters > jQuery Mobile with theme (phoneGap)
When he gets to the last selection (jQuery Mobile with theme - phone Gap) it is one of five (5) sample pages to choose from in the video. In my copy of Dreamweaver CS6, however, I only have three (3) sample pages to choose from. They are jQuery Mobile (CDN), JQuery Mobile (Local), and jQuery Mobile with theme (Local). Missing from my selection but shown in the Trani video are "jQuery Mobile (PhoneGap), and jQuery Mobile with theme (PhoneGap).
At that point, I have to hit the breaks, and Trani just blows on by.
How can I add the two sample pages to my menu so I can continue this training video?
Thanks

@pk4ut You need to select "jQuery Mobile with theme (local). That's the same as using (phonegap). Thanks for watching!

• Trial dreamweaver cs6 download query

I am trying to download trial dreamweaver cs6, but will only download 99%

Try this: Direct Download Links for Adobe Software. For anything beyond that you need to be much more specific and provide system details and otehr info.

• Dreamweaver CS6 file update issue with template

I am working my way through Adobe's Dreamweaver CS6 Classroom in a Book on an iMac computer. I'm in Chapter 9 and have placed some button links in a webpage within the template. But when I go to update the about_us.html file from the template, the update indicates that it will only update files from Chapters 6 & 7. Thus I cannot update the Chapter 9 about_us file (or any other files in Chapter 9 I'm presuming). What can I do? I do not know how I can manually update the link html statements in the about_us file because they are greyed out (inactive, due to button region locking that was done in Chapter 7. I'm really stumped and blocked from continuing, so I sure could use some help. Thank you in advance!

It's hard to say what you could have missed, if Templates aren't done just right, things can go wrong fast.
I would go back to chapter 7 (the last point things seem to work correctly) and redo everything up to chapter 9 to make sure I didn't accidentally skip any steps. Pay particular attention to any step pertaining to creating new pages from templates or applying a template to an already existing page.

• Dreamweaver CS6: Template not updating pages

I have developed a small promotional site using Dreamweaver CS6. Virtually all pages have been designed around a single template, and this has worked well throughout development.
However, I'm now noticing that updates applied to the template (updates to an uneditable region) are being passed to only a few of the pages.
Here is a page not being updated by the template: http://www.purepowerengine.com/about.htm
Thank you in advance.

Hi rdwright,
Thanks for sharing the answer with us. Good to know that you are all set.

• Where is the Phonegap template in Dreamweaver CS6

Hi just wondering if someone can clear this up for me.
I have just downloaded the trial of Dreamweaver CS6 and am wondering where the jQuery mobile (phonegap) template has gone?
Is there a way i can get it back? Im just curious as the jQuery mobile templates dont have a link to the Phonegap.js file and therefore
dont give access to the phonegap API's or am i mistaken??
Have spent the last few hours searching online for an answer but there is little out there as i suppose CS6 is still relatively new,
If anyone can clear this up for me it would be great!
Also am i better off sticking with CS5.5 if i want to develop for phonegap?

You're not running a trial of Dreamweaver CS6. There was no public trial of DW.
It's a beta and is probably not 100% feature complete.
CS6 will probably be shipping next week (with the official Trials probably available a little later).
Uninstall the CS6 beta you currently have installed and try the final version of CS6 then.

• Problem uploading templates with liquid layouts and dreamweaver cs6

Hi
I have developed some templates in Dreamweaver CS6 and Liquid Layouts
However when I want to preview them in a browser, they come out blank (No Data at all)
I have tried this without Liquid and works fine, minor bugs that can be fixed like background image not visible
It seems the problem its at the BC system
Will appreciate help on this matter
Thanks

You should not be using Liquid in product sites, especially in templates since the whole liquid code breaks and does not render in several places.
DW has no features to support liquid rendering either yet.
It is something that is in Alpha.

Dreamweaver CS6 Templates not updating pages since i copied the website to a new computer
First i install CS6 on the new computer
copy the projects
import the websites
Now, when i change any template the pages do not update any more. New pages working correct. Also manuell updating works.
Any Idea?
Where are the info about the join template and the pages. Seems on the old computer - but where?
Thx

hm?
now I made a new page from the template on the new machine - and find one difference:
New Page:

....
Old Page:

...
The slash / after template=" is not there on the new machine. If i remove the slash on the copied pages and restart dreamweaver then it works. A lot of work, but i can solve my problem this way.
Maybe there is some checkbox for path handling...?

• Report Template, Column Template, Column Template Condition

I have a template, Standard Revenue from Standard, I have cloned for a Classic report.
Application ###>Shared Componets>Templates>Edit Report Template
Column Template 1 looks like:
<td#ALIGNMENT# headers="#COLUMN_HEADER_NAME#" class="t1data_revenue">#COLUMN_VALUE#

I have set Column Template 1 Condition to:
"Use based on PL/SQL expresiion"
I have tried several expression in "Column Template 1 Expression" - last one is:
case
when #COLNUM# <= 2 then false
when #COLUMN_VALUE# < 0 then true
else false
end case;
I am trying to use the value in "Column Template 2" when to value of the #COLUMN_VALUE# < 0
where "Column Template 2" is :
<td#ALIGNMENT# headers="#COLUMN_HEADER_NAME#" class="t1data_revenue_negative">#COLUMN_VALUE#

I get the following error when I run the page:
ORA-01403: no data found
and
ERR-1025 Error processing PLSQL expression. case when #COLNUM# <= 2 then false when #COLUMN_VALUE# < 0 then true else false end case;
Any help will be appreciated.
thank you,

Hi,
That's actually easier. See: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:60]
The SQL for both reports is:
SELECT EMPNO, ENAME, NVL(SAL,0) SAL, NVL(COMM,0) COMM
FROM EMP
ORDER BY EMPNOThe SAL and COMM columns have been formatted using:
999G999G999G999G990D00For the Row Template, the Row Template 1 setting contains an empty space (you have to have something in there otherwise Apex adds back in a default row containing five cells!). The condition for this is:
TO_NUMBER('#COMM#','999G999G999G999G990D00') < 100The template will see the data as a string, so we use the same number format to convert that string back into a number and compare this to 100. If we didn't use formatting on the numbers and we are sure that every row contained a number (hence the use of NVL()), then you could use:
#COMM# < 100Row Template 2 contains the format for the rows that need displaying:
<tr>
<td class="t18Data">#1#</td>
<td class="t18Data">#2#</td>
<td class="t18Data" style="text-align:right">#3#</td>
<td class="t18Data" style="text-align:right">#4#</td>
</tr>and is unconditional.
The only other settings on the Row Template are the Before Rows:
<table class="t18Standard" style="border-collapse:collapse; border:1px solid black;">
<tr>
<th class="t18ReportHeader">Empno</th>
<th class="t18ReportHeader">Ename</th>
<th class="t18ReportHeader" style="text-align:right">Sal</th>
<th class="t18ReportHeader" style="text-align:right">Comm</th>
</tr>and After Rows:
</table>Of course, you will note that the record counters at the bottom still show the number of records in both reports - as the SQL still outputs the same data, this doesn't change.

• #COLNUM# #COLUMN_VALUE# in column Template Condition

Hi,
Is it a limitation to use #COLNUM# #COLUMN_VALUE# in column Template Condition?
I specify a column template condition #COLNUM#=3 in the column template condition, but the error
"ERR-1025 Error Processing PLSQL expression #COLNUM#=3" prompt.
Is that a limitation?
Thanks

Hi,
I can use column name in template column condition with no problem, but I want to apply the condition to few fixed columns(more than 10 columns),
I know I can do something in the SQL query of the report, but it will be too tedious.
If only the #COLNUM# etc is usable in template column condition, it will save a lot of job.
Anyone know the reason #COLNUM# not usable in template column condition?
Thanks

• CSS not displaying in Dreamweaver Preview (from Template file)

Greetings!
I created a page in dreamweaver with attached styles which was working just fine. Took the page and turned it into a template - which was also working fine.
Then applied the template to a page and styles are not showing at all.
Looking at the code my stylesheet is attached properly and uploading the page to a live server, the styles all display fine. It is just Dreamweavers is somehow not rendering the stylesheet.
I have double checked and ensured that the rendering of css is turned on. That the media is set to screen etc. Still I cannot get the CSS to render in design view.
As a temporary workaround, I can re-attach my stylesheet as a design time stylesheet and it renders just fine.
Anyone have any ideas what might be happening here? Is it a Dreamweaver cache issue?
Only thing I can think is that I do have some PHP code in the head section, but the page is a PHP page so that should not be an issue?
I would appreciate any help or ideas anyone can offer!
Thanks,
Martin

• Column Template conditions foiled by a single quote

I am using a generic column template and have a few pl/sql conditions to shade different rows like so:
'#1' like '%Total%'This worked fine until an employee's name appeared in the first column with a single quote in his last name (like O'Brien). Well apparently Apex literally takes whatever is in the field and just shoves it in between the single quotes because the single quote is terminating the string as if you were doing this in sql instead of making it a bind variable:
'O'BRIEN' like '%Total%'Which results in this friendly message to the users:
ORA-06550: line 1, column 65: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "BRIEN" when expecting one of the following: ) , * & | = - + < / > at in is mod remainder not rem => ..  <> or != or ~= >= <= <> and or like LIKE2_ LIKE4_ LIKEC_ as between from using || multiset member SUBMULTISET_
Error ERR-1025 Error processing PLSQL expression. 'O'BRIEN, JOHN P ' like '%Total%' Can someone from the Apex team confirm that this is the issue? I know I could do a replace on the single quote in my sql, but can't figure out how to escape the '#1#' properly so I don't have to do a replace. I also don't really want to use the Carl Backstrom approach of having to code in a class into the sql when these templates work for 99% of what I need to do.
Any ideas?

Dude you rock! I tried about 6 different combos of the q function before I got frustrated and posted. I had too many quotes in mine I guess but that works perfectly.
Thanks again!

• Passing #COLUMN_VALUE# as parameter to pl/sql function in column template

Hi all,
I want to color negative amounts in red in sql report using column template.
I created a pl/sql function"isNegativeNum" which returns 1 or -1.
create or replace function isNegativeNum(p_column_value varchar2) return number
as
l_dummy number;
begin
l_dummy := to_number(p_column_value,'999G999G990D00PR');
IF l_dummy < 0
THEN
RETURN 1;
else
return -1;
END IF;
exception
when others then
RETURN -1;
end;Below is column template.
Column Template 1
<td class="t3dataalt" #ALIGNMENT#>
#COLUMN_VALUE#

Column Template 1 Condition
isNegativeNum('#COLUMN_VALUE#') = -1The issue is #COLUMN_VALUE# value is not being passed to the function, Insert statement in function reveals p_column_value as a string "#COLUMN_VALUE#". When I try without quotes like isNegativeNum(#COLUMN_VALUE#) = -1, I get below error.
ORA-06550: line 1, column 48: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "#" when expecting one of the following: ( ) - + case mod new not null others select table avg count current exists max min prior sql stddev sum variance execute multiset the both leading trailing forall merge year month DAY_ hour minute second timezone_hour timezone_minute timezone_region timezone_abbr time timestamp interval date
Error      ERR-1025 Error processing PLSQL expression. isNegativeNum(#COLUMN_VALUE#) = 1
Any help is appreciated.
Kishore

Hi Kishore,
using #COLUMN_VALUE# would probably not make much sense, because normally a report has multiple columns and not just the numeric column which you want to verify if it's negative. But APEX will fire the template condition for each column, because the report template is a column cell template.
What you can do to make it more generic is to use for example
#CHECK_AMOUNT#
in the template and provide a not displayed column in your SQL statement which contains your value which is named CHECK_AMOUNT. For example:
SELECT NAME
, BALANCE
, BALANCE AS CHECK_AMOUNT
FROM XXX;Because this CHECK_AMOUNT column would be a generic name, you can use this template in all your reports as long as you provide this column.
Thope that helps
Patrick
