  • Dreamweaver CC crashes when switching from code view to design view

I am experiencing a recent problem with a file I am currently working. When I switch from code view to design view Dreamweaver crashes and requests a shut down. Other files seem to work without a problem. This particular files has 3 cascading EdgeAnimation CC files that are selected by media queries. I can test the page online without a problem but not in design or live view.

Since your new page didn't crash, this leads me to believe that you have some critical errors and/or conflicts in your other page(s).
Try running your code through the W3C validation tools.

    HTML - http://validator.w3.org/

  • ITunes 11 crashes when switching from Artist to Song View

This happens EVERY TIME. I search for an artist within my library using the search function, Artists View is automatically selected displaying the artist, then when I try to switch to Song View, Boom, iTunes just disappears and seconds later the well-known message comes up "iTunes crashed, do you want to cancel...send...reopen?".
Anyone else has this issue? I do have a large music library, and I am using iTunes 11.1.5 in 10.9.2.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—again, the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 Crashes when Inserting... anything

I've been encountering this problem frequently. When I use the Insert menu, whether from the menu bar or from the quick tab panel, (usually) Dreamweaver crashes. It happens with flash videos, form elements, you name it. There's no error message, just a windows alert stating that Dreamweaver CS6 has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Checks for solution, and fails.
So, has anybody else encountered this? I don't even know where to start, since there's no alert getting thrown by DW, and it doesn't stop responding either. It just goes from working to dead.
    Thanks

Thanks for the replies. No, I'm not running any extensions. Everything is right "out of the box". Meaning, how I downloaded it from Adobe. I checked the extension manager anyway, not much to see there...
As for deleting te personal cache, the walkthrough for locating and removing that file is inconsistent with my system. As stated, I'm running Win7, but there is no winFileCach.******.dat file on my C: drive. I've turned on hidden file visibility, and searched three times while writing this reply, just to make sure I'm not overlooking something simple. But I'm not finding anything.
The one configuration folder I did delete, as I suspected, broke Dreamweaver entirely, but that was an easy fix. I knew what was wrong, lol.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 crashes when editing tables

When I'm editing a table in the design view of Dreamweaver CS6, it stops responding and crashes. I have tried restarting my computer, restarting Dreamweaver (obviously) and repeating the same process, but it crashes in the exact same place. CS5.5 never did anything like this, in fact I have only ever experienced one crash and that was with InDesign CS5 a long time ago. It can't be my computer, it's well above required spec for CS6. What do you reckon is causing this? -_-
I will carry on editing bits of the table in the code view for now, but it's just that annoying feeling about compensating for something new that doesn't work properly. Any tips would be appreciated.

I've been working with data tables in CS6 recently, and have not encountered any problems, so this is not a known bug.
Often when things go wrong with Dreamweaver, it can be related to a corrupt cache file. Try the instructions for deleting a corrupt cache.
If that doesn't help, file a bug report through the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. Try to describe the situation in detail, giving steps to reproduce the problem.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 crashes when checking out a file

Not sure what all the information you might need, but here are the basics.
When I check out a file the following happens:
    1. Open Dreamweaver CS6
    2. Check out a file (both Double click on file or Right clicking and choosing 'Check Out')
    3. 'Background File Activity' window spastically flashes for a minute then program crashes.
    4. Reopen Dreamweaver CS6, file is checked out and usable.
I have tried reinstalling and deleting my WinCacheFile, no change. This happens with all servers I currently connect to.  Checking In a file doesn't do this.
Does anyone have an idea on what my next steps might be to fix this?
I'm running WinXP and have the CS6 Suit.
    Thanks in advance
    JackieW

  • Dreamweaver cs6 crashes when clicking design view

    Help!
I have been researching and trying a number of things to get my Dreamweaver program to work. It was working yesterday and then it decided to stop letting me go to the split or design view.
I work on a Macintosh--MacBook Pro running Lion. I did locate my preference files and deleted those as usual, but I have never had this type of problem with an Adobe product. If you have some ideas, let me know. I appreciate the help.
Would it be a good time to upgrade to Mavericks?

    Hello MacRatclic,
Can you please provide more information listed below. Its difficult to understand the issue from the thread description.
    - Platform & version
    - Dreamweaver Version
    - Is the issue specific to a certain page. If yes, can you please provide a document sample to reproduce the issue.
    - Is the crash reproducible by clicking anywhere in Design view or is it restricted to certain element.
    - Crash Report would help us to analyse the root cause.

  • Encore CS6 crashes when importing from Premiere Pro CS6

When sending a project to Encore as a Dynamic Link from Premiere Pro, Encore hangs then a message pops up that it has stopped responding then closes. How do we get this to work?
The computer has an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and is running Windows 7 Pro x64 with Service Pack 1. Adobe CS6 Master Collection is installed. The computer is joined to a Windows Server 2012 domain and the user of the machine has local administrator rights.
The Adobe suite has been uninstalled and re-installed multiple times without success. Sometimes after re-installing, sending a Dynamic Link to Encore will import as expected once, but then after restarting the computer, the problem will occur again. This has been tried with and without installing any Adobe updates. The system has also been wiped and had Windows and all software clean installed on it again which has not resolved the problem.

More below... may not help, but does say that the programs are not designed to work on a network, and may not
Some? versions of Premiere do not work properly, if at all, over a network

  • LR 2.6 crashes when switching from the library module to the developer module

As per subject.  What are some of the things I should try to diagnoise and resolve this problem?  I have tried using the 'optimize catalog' option, restart computer but nothing seems to help.. any suggestions?

Thanks,.  But I'm actually creating a new folder from within LR's import  menus, so I can't see as that would be a problem.

  • Switch from Design to Code view on a Mac

So here I am flinging backets and ampersands right and left,
and have to stop, reach for the mouse and click a button.
Frustrating. And no, I am not spoiled.

    Hi, lnmyers,
I have thousands of pictures stored in Picasa, all of which are stored in my Picasa Web Albums. They are no longer in a directory on my hard-drive, that particular hard-drive having died ages ago. Thank goodness I uploaded them to Picasa's cloud before the hard-drive died. Should that ever darken, I am in trouble. I digress. I downloaded the pictures I wanted from Picasa Web Albums to my new external hard-drive that I set up and attached to my mac. For example:  I had a an album called "California 2013" stored in the Picasa cloud. I downloaded the entire album to a folder on my Seagate external drive that I call Lightroom within which I have a folder called California 2013. It took about twenty minutes to get them all (300+ photos). Then, I pointed LR to the California 2013 folder on the Seagate external drive when I wanted to catalogue the pictures into LR. I did not worry about metadata; I took whatever came with the pictures and didn't worry about it. I added copyright, keywords, and ownership info with LR.
    I hope that helps.

  • DW CS5 crashes when switching to split view

I have just checked other comments in the forum but none seem to really fit the issue. The moment I use the code for a page and switch to split view, DW crashes. It works perfectly with smaller HTMLs (e.g. HTML emails) but starts playing up as soon as I try to work on the code for a page.
    Any solutions.. ?
    Thanks!

This is a long standing bug, that for some reason Adobe can't seem to fix. It started with CS4, and remains in CS5.  Typically when looking at certain .aspx pages, when switching from design view to split view Dreamweaver will crash. Anyway, thanks to some investigation back in CS4, and a keen Dreamweaver user (jplaguna) we can all get back to working normally.  I thought I would repost this for anyone struggling with the issue.
The problem is with Dreamweaver's "Translators" - whatever those are?  Anyway, you simply rename that folder and your problems go away.
Sorry to hear that you've been having this problem. I'm glad that you found a way to work around the problem.
Translators are the code that recognizes certain pieces of server-side code so that you can select and manipulate them in DW. Turning them off disables features like Server Behaviors. Also, you can be more strategic by simply renaming the Translator for ASP.Net here:
      c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4\configuration\Translators\ASP.Net.htm
    Rename it to something like:
      ASP.Net.disable_htm
Then you'll need to restart DW. This will disable the Translator for only ASP.Net, not all of the other Server Models.
Can you post a .zip file with a page that causes the crash? I didn't see one in the original forum thread.
    Hope this helps,

  • Dreamweaver CC crashes when I click on + sign in Transition panel. It only happens in a document cre

Dreamweaver CC crashes when I click on + sign in Transition panel. It only happens in a document created from template. The panel works seamlessly otherwise in in both original (index) and template documents. If you had any idea why... thanks, yours Peter

Certainly: Its Win7 and DW CC seems to be LS20. I have reinstalled DW CC and the same problem occurs.
    In detail:
I create a template from my Index page with editable region.
Then I create a new document from the template.
Now the transitions work, are editable - only adding a new one crashes DW.
Next I will have CS6 and CC both reinstalled, and hope for the best.
    Thank you for your help.
