Dreamweaver CS6 Creating a Template (page_content)

Hello, i am working through a book called "against the clock dreamweaver cs5" . I am assuming that because the new cs6 is different from the old version ; the two versions might be different. Anyways , I made a CSS layout and went to (Insert> Template Objects> Editable Region)
the book says," In the New Editable Region dialog box, type "page_content" in the Name field and click ok.
Place the insertion point in the table cell that contains the editable region. In the Properties Panel. change the vertical alignment of the cell to Top.
When I go to the Properties Panel, there is not drop-down menu that say Vert > Top.
Please help ASAP!!!

You have to click in a cell in the table.  When you do that the *BOTTOM* half of the expanded Property inspector (to expand it you would click on a little white, 'flippy' triangle in the bottom, right-hand corner of the unexpanded Property inspector).  On expanding you will see two alignment lists appear, one for Horiz and one for Vert.  You can take it from there.

  • I was wondering how to use Dreamweaver to create joomla template? Any ideas or useful resources.

I am embarking on a new project to create a joomla template. I need your ideas on how to use Dreamweaver to create the template. TQ

It's pretty much the same procedure with all your open source CMSs (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!...)

  • White space in responsive design around stage when inserting in a Dreamweaver cs6 created webpage.

What is the fix for removing all the excess space around the stage when added to a mobile webpage.  It views correctly on the desktop.  I have created my animation in a responsive format through Edge CC 3.0.  When I insert it into my webpage I get a lot of excess around the object on my table and mobile formats.  It is not the stage because I have purposely made it gray so to see if it was the issue.  I have done some css rules with negative margins but that is not fixing for all media devices.  I feel there should be an easy fix.  Anybody else experiencing this.

Sure:  www.excaliburprintingdfw.com/index.html  I did tweaked with margins and positions.  All looks acceptable on most medias except for on a tablet in landscape view.  I could bandaid with another media query but I don't understand why "animate" has the white space in the first place. I appreciate your input.

  • Need details on how to move existing website to Dreamweaver CS6 and to Business Catalyst web hosting

    Hi All,
I need assistance with transferring an existing website  - imagessays.com  -  (designed with Dreamweaver CS4) to my Creative Cloud CS6 account - and to web hosting by CS6 Business Catalyst.
…  step-by-step instructions would be most useful.  I've got the Dreamweaver CS6 onDemand book, etc.,  ...  I guess I’m just not enough of a geek to work my way through the steps and to get my site back moving ahead online.
Beyond that, need advice as to how to repair a couple of non-funcitonal links on the site (check out imagessays.com to see a couple of pics that don't work).  I'm looking forward to uploading more content and to do major upgrade to the site, but am unable to do so ... need technical support re how to do these simple (should be) things.
Since setting up the website over 5 years ago, I have migrated from Dreamweaver CS3 to CS4 .... and now to CS6 ...  and from a Dell XPS 450 running Windows XP to a Mac Pro desktop running Mac OS X.
These changes of version / machine / OS  have separated me from the ability to do the one simple thing that I need to do with this straightforward website, that is:  upload new pitchers and writins .
I look forward to assistance and support for this.
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • Slideshow using dreamweaver CS6

Have received advice here and created a slideshow using jQuery Cycle2. Loaded own images and working fine on a dreamweaver blank page.
When I load onto a fill page as a banner heading the slideshow reverts to 3 or 4 separate images. Any ideas please?

Sorry. Should have come back earlier. Any chance you could look at code in
these two attachments and tell me why the' letters for baneer ' works  and
yet the identical (as far as I can see) 'using find' doesn't go  through any
transition. I think I have followed the three points made  below.
    Thanks and apologies,

  • Dreamweaver CS6 file update issue with template

I am working my way through Adobe's Dreamweaver CS6 Classroom in a Book on an iMac computer. I'm in Chapter 9 and have placed some button links in a webpage within the template. But when I go to update the about_us.html file from the template, the update indicates that it will only update files from Chapters 6 & 7. Thus I cannot update the Chapter 9 about_us file (or any other files in Chapter 9 I'm presuming).  What can I do? I do not know how I can manually update the link html statements in the about_us file because they are greyed out (inactive, due to button region locking that was done in Chapter 7. I'm really stumped and blocked from continuing, so I sure could use some help. Thank you in advance!

It's hard to say what you could have missed, if Templates aren't done just right, things can go wrong fast.
I would go back to chapter 7 (the last point things seem to work correctly) and redo everything up to chapter 9 to make sure I didn't accidentally skip any steps. Pay particular attention to any step pertaining to creating new pages from templates or applying a template to an already existing page.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 - Column Templates - Only 2 template choices

    Hello,
Hoping someone can help with my issue.
When I chose to create a new document, I only have 2 choices for column layout templates (2 column fixed, right sidebar, header and footer OR 3 column fixed, header and footer).
I have updated and downloaded the 2014 version hoping that would provide additional choices but that did not change anything. I also restoring the default version but that didn't produce any other choices either.
This is the process I followed for creating a new document using a template.
        NEW>HTML
    I appreciate any assistance.
    Thanks!

How many columns do you want?  You can modify the available starter pages pretty much however you want with a few lines of CSS code.   That's why there's only 2 to choose from.
You can create whatever layout you desire using the FluidGrid Layouts Feature or the Bootstrap Responsive Extension for DW.  In both cases, your layouts will be optimized to work on mobile, tablets and desktops which is the current trend in Web Design.

  • Where is the Phonegap template in Dreamweaver CS6

Hi just wondering if someone can clear this up for me.
I have just downloaded the trial of Dreamweaver CS6 and am wondering where the jQuery mobile (phonegap) template has gone?
Is there a way i can get it back? Im just curious as the jQuery mobile templates dont have a link to the Phonegap.js file and therefore
dont give access to the phonegap API's or am i mistaken??
Have spent the last few hours searching online for an answer but there is little out there as i suppose CS6 is still relatively new,
If anyone can clear this up for me it would be great!
Also am i better off sticking with CS5.5 if i want to develop for phonegap?

You're not running a trial of Dreamweaver CS6. There was no public trial of DW.
It's a beta and is probably not 100% feature complete.
CS6 will probably be shipping next week (with the official Trials probably available a little later).
Uninstall the CS6 beta you currently have installed and try the final version of CS6 then.

  • Problem uploading templates with liquid layouts and dreamweaver cs6

    Hi
I have developed some templates in Dreamweaver CS6 and Liquid Layouts
However when I want to preview them in a browser, they come out blank (No Data at all)
I have tried this without Liquid and works fine, minor bugs that can be fixed like background image not visible
It seems the problem its at the BC system
Will appreciate help on this matter
    Thanks

You should not be using Liquid in product sites, especially in templates since the whole liquid code breaks and does not render in several places.
DW has no features to support liquid rendering either yet.
It is something that is in Alpha.
