Dreamweaver CS6 FTP server set up not displaying

The server tab when clicked doesn't show up any options for me so I can't add any sites or manage current sites.
This is a major issue for me and I am paying for a subscription to use this software that isn't functioning properly

Help > Updates, check, download & install all available updates.
If it still persists, try creating a new user account on your Mac OS to see if it works there.
I've worked with another user with the same issue in the past. It started off here. With some of the troubleshooting we did, he ended up losing his entire Creative Suite apps! Then he had to re-do from scratch to fix this. But, the new user account worked instantly for him.

Dreamweaver CS6 - FTP changing my file permissions on upload???

Upgraded to cs6. All programs work perfect for me exceopt Dreamweaver.
I have never expierenced this challenge however no matter what file(s) I upload dreamwever is chanign the file permissions.
For instance if I upload an image to the sever the image won't appear. I check permissions and they are set to 0. Same with files.
I have to now go in to each item I upload and change permissions to 644 or 755 depending if its a file or directory.
This is a Dreamweaver exclusive problem as it does not happen when I use Filezilla and Im working on 6 different servers.
ONLY when I upload files with Dreamweaver CS6 do the file permissions change on upload. Cs5.5 no problem.
Any ideas?

STILL NOT WORKING UPDATE:
I was even on with India Adobe support doing a screen share and they watched in real time as I uploaded a file and Dreamweaver and it changed the permissions to 000. You can 'Get' a file with 775 permissions then 'Put' that same file and it will chanve to 000 permissions.
Support failed to address this problem after 30 days and never called back.
STILL NOT WORKING UPDATE: Changing ro SFTP seems to be a workaround.

I'm using DW6 version 12.2, and this problem is still happening.
The permissions are defaulting to 0664, where I need them to be 0644. Every time I create a new file, it defaults to 0664, and I'm unable (not permitted) to view that file online until I go in, using another FTP program, and change the permissions to 0644... or manually go in the slow-poke way using DW6 Remote View -> [file name] -> Set Permissions.
Too bad there's no way to configure this in the Preferences area of DW6.

FTP server: PORT command not supported??

Hi,
In a nutshell - we are trying to set up PASV -- PORT connection between a Tiger server (10.4.11) and another system (say it's a windows FTP server). Issuing a PORT command to a Tiger FTP server fails with this error:
-> PORT 192,168,11,3,199,158
<- 500 Invalid PORT command
I have done some research on the web and as far as I can see - this is just a feature that is disabled in Mac OS X ftp server.
What's strange is that "features" command states that PORT is supported.
Has anyone seen PORT command work for a Tiger Server ftp daemon?
Has anyone succeeded enabling this command on a Tiger server?
Can you recommend another FTP server that works well on a Tiger server?

Passive (PASV) and Port (PORT) mechanisms are orthagonal.
If you're working with PORT, then you're almost certainly trying to clear through one or more firewalls. And a firewall can also trigger the Illegal Port Command error for a PORT command.
(Though I don't see a PORT command in the Mac OS X ftp client. I've checked a couple of clients, and it isn't common to expose it.)
ftp is a mess. Insecure, difficult to configure, insecure, firewall unfriendly, insecure, and slow. And did I mention insecure?
(No, I'm not a big fan of ftp.)

As for a suggestion, chuck ftp and switch to sftp.

Photoshop CS6 content (pictures, etc) will not display (or only partually) on the stage.

I just purchased and loaded Photoshop CS6. Pictures (actually this is for all content in any layers) will not display at all or only partually display (see picture below). I uninstalled and reinstalled the program but there is no change. The other Adobe products from the Master Suite Collection run fine (Flash, Encoder, etc). I am thinking that my instalation disc may be corrupted. Can you give me any advice?

Most likely the video card driver. Update it in GPU makers website. Need make and model of video card.

Application Server Control Page not displayed

Hi,
I have installed Oracle Database XE,SOA suite with JDK1.4 and OBIEE advanced installation. I'm able to open the Presentation services and BI Publisher but when i tried to open the Application Server Control the page is not displayed. My Apps Server is up and running.
Can anyone render help on what error it might be?

I am using the assigned HTTP port. In my case I choose the port pool during rapid install that assigned 8001 to the HTTP listener.

RoboHelp Server 7 Projects Not Displaying

After installing a trial version of RoboHelp Server 7 and
publishing a WebHelpPro help system to RHS7server, the project does
not display in the Project pane of RHS7. Does anyone have any idea
why the project does not display in the Project pane?

Hi, ouque and welcome to the forum.
Just to clarify your setup. When you say "Project pane" are
you referring to the Configuration Manager on the server itself.
Or, are you referring to something you are seeing from the RoboHelp
authoring client app's Server Administration pane?
If you have access to the actual server desktop and view the
Configuration Manager, sometimes on a new installation, you can do
a "refresh" and the project will show up.
A few more questions:
Have you tried accessing the website and does the project
come up in the web browser?
On what kind of web server did you install RHS7? Windows
2003, etc.?
Is Microsoft Indexing Services turned on?
Apparently you were able to successfully publish your project
to the server so there is "communication" between your desktop and
the server I gather.
A few more details and we'll try to help.

Dreamweaver CS6 check in check out not working

I frequently experience instances where I check out a file and do not get a green check mark, or a check in a file and do not get a lock symbol. Sometimes, the file is updated on the remote server anyway, sometimes not.
Today, no matter how many times I have tried to check out and check in the home page, the updated file from the local server is not showing up on the remote server.
Can you offer a reason and, more particularly, a solution?

Cannot "Get started" or publish a site from Dreamweaver CS6 because the account is not associated wi

I cannot "Get Started" the Business Catalyst extension from Dreamweaver CS6. This is the error message I receive: "An account with the same email already exists in Business Catalyst. To associate the Business Catalyst account with your AdobeID, please log in to the Business Catalyst web administration console."

There is no need to install the Business Catalyst extension in Dreamweaver CS6. Business Catalyst is incorporated into the program.
If you're having difficulties logging into BC, I suggest that you post a request for help in the dedicated Business Catalyst forum.

Server Admin GUI not displaying complete information

Recently, the Server Admin GUI stopped displaying complete information for one of our servers. It works fine for the other.
All servers are set up very much the same, other than one is an Xserve and one is a G5 tower. The one giving the grief is the G5 tower.
Server Admin is version 10.4.7 and was working fine until a few days ago.
When I click on the computer name (or IP) in the "Computers and Services" list, then look at any of the tabs > "Overview" "Logs" "System" "Graphs" or "Update" no information is retrieved. With the exception of Hard Drive capacity.
All other services (Web, VPN, Mail) report all info without problems.
Weird, hey? Any thoughts appreciated.

Well it pretty easy. I've taken out the code that is unused so you can see what is going on.

}This is the only code that is executed in your program. It created a JDialog and then shows it. What you want to do, I imagine, is to put all the GUI stuff in your constructor and make sure you call pack() on it before you are done.

FTP Issue in Dreamweaver CS6 to Server

I'm having problem uploading to serving inside DW's 'Put' to server. I get a reading that says; FTP error occurred. Cannot make connection to host.
My host service says I need to make corrections on my end so that they can give me a new code to re-open my loading capacity to my website.
My site is down at this time

Okay, after four days of speaking with my web server's tech support and experimenting with site setup in it's FTP I finally figured out what was the problem of not being able to connect DW to my server. Very simple...........type of internet connection. The problem was that I was trying to do my work on my laptop which uses a USB portable device. I always found it to be a weak connection. So I reconnected my laptop using an 'Ethernet' cable, with a higher transfer rated ISP, here locally.
I know this sounds kind of stupid on my part but by speaking to tech service at my web service, they had me thinking about how I'm connect to the internet - USB or Ethernet. Well in my case I was using USB which shouldn't be a problem most of the times but sometimes it totally doesn't do it. The service (USB device) have been known for many flaws in their connections. It could be the device or service flaws.
Okay, so now I need to work on my rollovers. Now that I'm connecting I'm thinking about cleaning up on my codes here.

Dreamweaver CS6 ftp issue

I have for years used Dreamweaver as my primary WYSIWYG design app at work. Recently I installed CS6 at my home as a 30 day trial and I am very interested in a subscription to the new Creative Cloud.
Everything installs fine and I am able to set up a ftps on port 990. I am also able to do this for multiple ftp connections. After a few days of working fine and transferring multiple files the program can no longer make connection with the host. There are a few blogs about this and the recommend only switching sites while in local view of the site, but I have tried the install 3 times on a clean system and always the same result even after only setting up one ftp connection.
I would be interested in herring from other people experiencing this issue.

Maybe your host server is having a bad day. Are you sure it's not down?

Dreamweaver CS6 - ftp stops on some files or get permission errors

Just installed DW CS6 version 12.0 build 5861 yesterday on windows 8.1. The FTP connects & will upload some files but stalls with images. An example is an image called gov_logo.jpg . It is only 27kb but it stalls with only part of image on server. This is not the only problem image. Time-out is set to 60 seconds & the image will upload with a different ftp client as my host has checked & tested it. I have seen lots of so called fixes & have tried all but have noticed this issue is unresolved for lots of people. Could someone please help.

I have used DW since DW MX back when it was Macromedia, then upgraded to Studio 8 & they worked well. Macromedia even did some trouble shooting for me & I'm just one of the small guys. Adobe on the other hand seem to leave you high & dry.
this just seems absurd(I'm not getting at you). I had researched these products from their respective sites before purchase. Yes it does seem that it's a win8.1 issue yet Adobe is selling their DWcs6 saying it works fine on 8.1 & obviously it doesn't properly. Just the posts in this website clearly show that it's not a one off issue & there are plenty of other forums & websites stating this issue. For anyone else that may & will have this same issue there seems to be no resolution & you may as well throw your DWcs6 & your windows 8.1 computer in the bin & kiss goodbye to a few thousand dollars for those products & a few more for the work you lose. It seems Adobe & Microsoft don't care about small clients & loosing them won't effect their bottom line, they are too big for that.

In my opinion both of these links have misrepresented their products joint compatibility & this is what I went off before forking out the $$.
This link shows just a small fraction of people complaining about windows 8.1 WinInet issue including DW cs6 users. FtpOpenFile and InternetWriteFile broken/changed in IE11 | Microsoft Connect.
Once again thanks to you Nancy & bregent for taking the time to assist me, as without you guys similar problems people have could take a huge toll on them. Keep it up. :-)
Is there a direct contact for Adobe? Or is this forum it? As I might have to buy a Mac & swap the windows version of DW cs6 to the Mac version. Or would you reccomend another way around it?

Server Side Includes not displaying in DW CS3 design view

I have this code in my page (see below):
When I open the file in Dreamweaver MX 2004 in design view,
the page displays correctly. That is, I see the correct styles from
the style sheet contained in Head_Standard.html and the logo/menu
in Logo_TopMenu.html
When I open the page in DW CS3, I do not see the effects of
the style sheet and I do not see the logo/menu.
However, when I change the code for the first include from:
virtual="/ServerSide
to
virtual="
../../ServerSide
then the page renders correctly in Dreamweaver CS3.
My first reaction was: what?! And my question is: how do I
use a root reference inside the head and get it to display properly
in DW CS 3?

For me:
/ServerSide... does NOT work
../../ServerSide... works
So, a relative reference works and a reference to the root
does not. I have over 20 websites with root references and I need
this to work in DW9.

New Entry
