Here's the chapter and verse from the Dreamweaver CS6 EULA:
2.1.5 Dual Boot Platform. The Software is licensed for use on a specific operating system platform. Customer must purchase a separate license for use of the Software on each operating system platform. By way of example, if Customer desires to install the Software on both the Mac OS and Windows operating system platforms on a device that runs both of those platforms (i.e., a dual boot machine), then Customer must first obtain two separate licenses for the Software. This is true even if two versions of the Software, each designed for a different operating system platform, are delivered to Customer on the same media.
However, it's different for the Creative Cloud. This is extracted from the Creative Cloud FAQ:

"Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened." in CS6, on two computers

I continue to get this message on my CS6 Illustrator install, and it prevents the launch of the software

But I am intentionally double posting as:
There has been nothing from an Adobe rep on this subject in a while.
The other post has "trial" in the heading and I don't want that to be a distraction from the issue. This is happening on paid versions of the software.
I want to be clear that it is happening on two machines
Neither machine has ever had the SMART whiteboard software installed on it
Neither machine appear to have any of the terminal-accessible files that apparently effect this sort of thing
One of the two machines is essentially a clean OS install and only has Adobe & MS software on it
This problem happens intermitantly, sometimes showing up and sometimes not. A restart is required to even have a chance of not experiencing the issue.
This problem needs a real solution from Adobe.

edit the “launchd.conf” file which is located in /etc directory.
1.) Go to finder
2.) Go to the Go Menu at the top of the screen
3.) Scroll to “Go to Folder…
4.) When the pop-up box comes up, type /etc
5.) locate the “launchd.conf” file, open it in TextEdit. The entry that is causing the problem is the “limit maxfiles” line. If you remove that line and restart your machine the problem will be fixed. If you remove the whole file, your SmartBoard preferences will be lost, apparently, but I didn’t verify this.
6.) Restart your computer.
Once you restart, Illustrator should launch without any problems.
also if It gives issue while editing i had made a copy on the desktop and then deleted the copy inside the ETC folder
and it launched the illustrator and solved this issue

Serial numbers are platform specific. You cannot install the product on a PC and a Mac, only 2 computers of the same type.

Run Dreamweaver cs3 on two computers for same website?

I just purchased a 2nd computer and I want to move/add Dreamweaver to that. My goal is to really use the computer I have now as a "backup" and the new one as the one I work on my site with. But I'd like to be able to update the "backup" computer so that both have the same info. updated daily or at all times. Is this hard to do? Possible?
Also, one way or the other, what is the best way for me to move Dreamweaver and my website folder to the new computer. Do I install Dreamweaver with the original disk then move the files later. Any tips on best way to transfer so many files?

CS6 licence - installing on two computers

Licence says I can install CS6 on two computers but I cannot run them both at the same time. What will happen when I, lets say by accident, run both programs at the same time? Second one wont start or I will have some problems with my licence? Is there any other way of preventing running both programs beside just being cautious?

Don't think anything will happen. I did it regularly with no issues with perpetually licensed software (but I've since joined the Cloud where this is no longer an issue).
Worst case scenario, if they're on the same network, is you'll see a prompt asking you to close one instance of the software before opening another.
The EULA (End User License Agreement) for the Cloud has been relaxed so that you can run both copies at the same time.

Computer with CS6 Died on one of two computers. I need to install and activate CS6 Web Premium on another computer. How can I activate it on new computer?

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS6 installed on two computers. One of the two computers experienced a catastrophic failure. The hard drive is damaged and the computer will not boot. So now I only have access to CS6 on one computer. I would like to install CS6 on a new computer so that I have two working computers each with an installation of CS6. How do I do this and activate both installations? I tried calling Adobe but the only number I have to troubleshoot problems is for Creative Cloud problems only. Any way to contact a live person at Adobe would be appreciated. Any other solutions would also be appreciated..

New subscriber for the CS6 Creative Cloud. I will be installing most of the apps on 2 computers - the desktop, and laptop. Is there a way to download the apps once for use on both computers? Or do you have to use the Application Manager on each computer and download twice?

I have 2 Macintosh computers that I want to install the programs on. Can I download the installers for the applications just once and install on both? If so, HOW? WHERE is the installer located (Temp folder?) when the Adobe Application Manager is done downloading it?
Or can I just copy, for example, the Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 folder from /Applications into the /Applications folder on my other Macintosh?

Running two instances of Dreamweaver CS6

I use Dreamweaver CS6 to build and manage a site with 10 linked sub sites. It was a first cut, and I need to rebuild it from the bottom up. Is there way to run two separate instances of Dreamweaver CS6. so I rebuild my site without running the risk of screwing up my production site? As it sits now I have 10 production sites, 10 development/local sites and I would rather not develop the new site/s on my production instance of Dreamweaver.

It looks like on the mac I can create a new user and run a clean instance of Dreamweaver CS6. This way if I make a stupid mistake, I do not corrupt my production site. Since my production site as 11 sub sites and another copy of the 11 sites for local development, adding the re-write to that mess would have been difficult.
Since the projects are under different users, it is much more difficult to cross pollute the two separate projects.
If I was doing this professionally, I would have a user account for each customer so my viagra pages did not show up on the nun web site or something like that. If I run into any issues, I will update.
