Dreamweaver CS6 stalls in welcome window

I opened a course selection file on line which proceeded to open up DW. Now when I open DW it stalls in the welcome window. I re-installed, deleted the cache, and renamed the preferences file and nothing has helped. I am running Mavericks 10.9.4. It's driving me crazy.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 stalls on download of new BC  site

    Can't get it to complete.  Have to force quit DW and restart to get control back of the transfer process.
    Some of the files transfer but the log only shows it starting up and nothing happening.
    Lion 10.7.x

    What happens is even the local site goes into an endless loop with DW "interacting with the server."  The problem is clicking on a folder locally also produces an endless loop.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 Stalls at Welcome Screen

    When you open Dreamweaver CS4, the Welcome Screen never show up.  You can still work in it, but I have a user who really likes the Welcome Screen.  I have had this issue with Windows 7 in both 64 and 32 bit.  Please advise.

    Edit>Preferences>general tab   Check the box that reads "Show Welcome Screen".

    want to know whether dreamweaver c6 retail box version (NOT CC!!!) works with Windows 8?
    I have recently bought a copy (awaiting delivery) to do some programming. I own a Samsung laptop
    running Windows 8. The PC was shop-bought & came with Windows 8 installed & is a fresh copy, not an upgrade for a previous
    Windows version.
    I'm hoping it does but would like to know because I've not been able to find an straight yes-no answer, then in time
    I'll be able to ask more in-depth dreameaver questions

  • Dreamweaver CS6 "Not Responding" with TypeKit on Windows 8

    My Dreamweaver CS6 (Cloud Install) on Windows 8 freezes up when i type code in "code view" to "Not Responding". It seems that it is the two lines from TypeKit that cause the problem (<script type="text/javascript" src="//use.typekit.net/xxx.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript">try{Typekit.load();}catch(e){}</script>). When I remove them it works fine. I run this against WAMP localhost install. Every time I write a DIV or another closed tag, Dreamweaver goes into "Not Responding" for 10-20 seconds. I have tried to turn of View > Live View Options > Disable Javascript but it doesn't work. I also tried to uninstall Dreamweaver and a reinstall but the same problem. Anyone knows any solutions? Thanks.

    My guess is DW is trying to connect to external scripts on TypeKit's server.  TypeKit is probably looking for a web browser, but since DW isn't a browser, it's hanging up.   Go to View > untick Display External Files.

  • Business catalyst panel in dreamweaver cs6 for windows 8 issues

    Hello everyone.
    I am having some problems whith my business catalyst panel in dreamweaver cs6 for windosw8.This is not the first time i have this issue.
    The panel doesnt open wen i click the loggin button as you can see in this video here:http://screencast.com/t/EMaCoMdxQ  ,and it has nothing to do whith my bc payed subscription because if i reinstall dreamweaver i know its going to work again whith all the trial modules and everything, cause i did it before.
    Before i reinstalled dreamweaver and sometimes it opened and sometimes it didnt.
    Is there a fix for this issue.My dreamweaver is the 12.0.something and yesterday i updated it.i also tryed in times before instaling the dreamweaver cs5 businesscatalyst plugin wich i downloaded at the adobe portal but it does nothing, i did this many times too and followed all the instructions step by step.It only works if i reinstall dreamweaver i guess.
    Does anyone also has this issue on theyr dreamweaver cs6 12.0 for windows?

    I am using Dreamweaver CS6, Version 12 with WIndows 8.1
    Creating a dynamic web site following David Powers tutorial at Building your first dynamic website – Part 2: Developing the back end | Adobe Developer Connection
    (Which gives you an idea of my level expertise)
    I am modifying the forms to suit my needs but otherwise no changes to David's instructions
    I am the stage where I have built the add, manage, update and delete forms and added the various Server Behaviours. Everything works as it should on testing.
    Problem
    Next stage is to create edit and delete links.
    I select Edit from the page that lists all records (manage_posts in tutorial)
    Select URL from Select File box
    Click on Parameters from File box
    Enter be_index (the primary key of the records) in the Name box
    Click on Value lightning bolt
    Dreamweaver totally locks up. Need to use Task Manager to close it down and regain control.
    I have tried re-installing Dreamweaver, and deleting cache as suggested elsewhere on this site, to no avail. Database appears OK when examined with phpMyAdmin.
    I have tried hand coding using the line
            <td><a href="update_records.php?be_index=<?php echo $row_rs_benefactions['be_index']; ?>">Edit</a></td>
    but it doesn't do what it is supposed to do i.e. create line of code that points too each record's primary key.
    I would appreciate any help to overcome this solid barrier.

    What it should do is insert a line in the pages code -

    Since trying to insert this code via the DW facility locks everything up, I tried entering the line by hand.
    According to the tutorial what this should do is select the appropriate record from the record listing table and show the entire record in the updating page.
    i.e If I select the 3rd record, using Live view I should see the code

    Unfortunately I don't, so I am completely stalled.

    Dreamweaver CS6（creative croud版）をMacにインストールして使用しているのですが、
    Application ManagerにてDWのアップデート通知がありましたのでアップデートしたところ、
    メニューの[表示]→[テーブルモード]が無くなってしまいました。
    このため、[テーブルモード]→[拡張テーブルモード]を選択することができなくて困っています。
    このモードに切り替えるためのショートカットキー「option(Alt) + F6」キーも
    アップデート後に反応しなくなってしまいました。
    これは仕様なんでしょうか…？
    どなたか解決方法をご存じの方がおりましたら、ご教授ください。
    宜しくお願いします。

  • Dreamweaver CS6 deleting files instead of putting them

    I am currently using Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 with 64 bit Windows 7 Professional.
    The issues started when I attempted to get most of the files on my site in order to save them as local versions.  Individual files could be retrieved just fine, but if I tried to get more than one file at a time the transfer process would stop about half way through and just sit there doing nothing.  No errors were thrown, the progress window didn't shut down, it just wouldn't continue transferring the files (not making any progress at all after about 20 minutes).  When  I cancelled the process, files that Dreamweaver claimed were finished were completely empty in the local version.  After a few attempts I went ahead and used FileZilla to copy all the files to my local machine.
    Now I'm having the issue that when I attempt to edit a php file, save it, then put it on the server Dreamweaver claims the transfer was successful, but instead of being put on the testing server the file has been removed from it completely.  At the end of the supposedly successfull transfer dreamweaver indicates that is no longer connected to the ftp.  The really weird thing is that if I restart dreamweaver and haven't edited a file since starting it, the file transfer works fine.  The put works fine weather dreamweaver has deleted the file off the testing server or not, as long as I haven't edited and saved a file since starting dreamweaver.  The put also works fine if I open dreamweaver, edit and save the php file, restart dreamweaver and then try the put, as long as I haven't edited and saved a file since the last time I started Dreamweaver.
    I am using Dreamweaver to manage three sites at the moment, and the other two work fine as far as I can tell, just this one site is giving me these strange ftp issues.  Any idea how I can resolve this?

    I don't think anyone has an answer for you.  There have been several other posts similar to this in the last few weeks.
    The more you can tell us about your system specs and the computing/FTP environment, the better your chances of getting some substantive responses....

  • Unable to open dreamweaver cs6 once installed

    please assist. i have downloaded and installed dreamweaver cs6, BUT when i double click to open it, it does not open. I click on "start" then "all programs" then "Dreamweaver cs6" from the bottom menu bar, it does NOT open up. All the other's like the adobe download assistant, adobe widget browser, etc. open up, but not DREAMWEAVER CS6.
    I have windows xp and using my desktop computer.

    This does not work for me i keep getting "an FTP errror occured-  cannot make connection to host" I have tried signing in the way the previous people suggested but to no avail. I have a paid creative cloud subscription. I am in Trinidad and Tobago. I am not sure that is an issue. I also connected succesfully to ftp://ftp.irs.gov using dreamweaver on adobe's the troubleshooting page. I was also successful connecting using cuteftp  but when i connect to my businesscatalyst site...failure. hopefully i have made my plight clear.

  • I have cs6 design and web premium installed on a windows 8.1 64 bit laptop. Dreamweaver CS6 has refused to open. When clicked it asks for user control permission and after clicking yes it comes to the first screen and quit after 2-3 seconds.

    It is only dreamweaver CS6 which is not opening. Illustrator and photoshop etc are still working. When I did compatibility test it came up with an issue with windows compatibility mode: windows 7. How to correct this?

  • How can I create a pop up window for a Windows Media video file in Dreamweaver CS6?

    I have a Windows Media video file on my homepage that plays automatically when you go to the website. I'd like to change my homepage. I now would like to place text that says "click here to play the video" and I'd like a pop up window to open and play the video. I'm using Dreamweaver CS6. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks.

    Is the code you told me about (above), is it necessary for older browsers such as ie8? I thought you were saying it was for the HTML5 tags and I wasn't sure I'd bother with it. If it helps people with ie8, I probably should add it.
