Dreamweaver CS6 Templates not updating pages since i copied the website to a new computer
First i install CS6 on the new computer
copy the projects
import the websites
Now, when i change any template the pages do not update any more. New pages working correct. Also manuell updating works.
Any Idea?
Where are the info about the join template and the pages. Seems on the old computer - but where?

now I made a new page from the template on the new machine - and find one difference:

The slash / after template=" is not there on the new machine. If i remove the slash on the copied pages and restart dreamweaver then it works. A lot of work, but i can solve my problem this way.
Maybe there is some checkbox for path handling...?

Dreamweaver CS6: Template not updating pages

I have developed a small promotional site using Dreamweaver CS6. Virtually all pages have been designed around a single template, and this has worked well throughout development.
However, I'm now noticing that updates applied to the template (updates to an uneditable region) are being passed to only a few of the pages.

Dreamweaver cs6 does not update links when moving files.

Dreamweaver cs6 does not update links when moving files. I've tried changing my general > settings for "Update links when moving files" to "prompt", and Ive tried "always". Neither work for me. The files are moved fine, but the links don't change. When it's set to "prompt" - I'm never prompted. Is this a bug or is there another setting somewhere?

Dreamweaver CS6 will not update.

My Dreamweaver CS6 will not update even though the updater program claims success. I am trying to update to 12.3. My existing version is 12.0 Build 5861.
I noticed that user named
wpccdistancelearning
has had the same problem, but I have not noticed any solutions provided. I'm having the same problem as others with Dreamweaver saying that "Synchronization information can not be found... " Putting an edited file will not update on the web site server.

Like I mentioned, I'm not sure about version 12.3, but this post seems to have some info that might help you...

As for the Synchronization issue, are you just doing a normal Put (up arrow icon) or are you attempting a Synchronize (small circular arrows icon)?
Using an actual Put action shouldn't care about synchronization info and if it were missing you should have the option to Put anyway.

I actually found under EDIT then Catalog settings / then metadata that the automatic write changes to XMP had been unchecked. Once I check this, it updated and connected all the keywords to the pictures. Now when I copy and paste the keywords show up as I can now detect them in Adobe bridge when before I couldn't see them even though they were in lightroom. . Thanks for your input.

Template not updating pages in MAC CS4

I have Dreamweaver CS4 on a iMAC (latest computer) w/ Lion (recently upgraded). I had been using Dreamweaver 8 on a PC but moved everything a few months ago.
I updated the template. When I saved it, Dreamweaver was supposed to ask to update all related pages, but it didn't ask that. When I open a page and apply the template, the change shows up. But I have too many pages to do that. I tried going to Modify> Template> Update pages. I turned the LOG on and it said the pages were updated. I did a Review at the top level and the pages showed up and I moved them to the server. I don't know why the changes aren't showing up on the server. I refreshed the page on the server and the change still didn't show up.

The next thing to try would be this -
1. In DW's Site manager, export the site definition (make sure you note where you export it so you can find it again - also make sure you export the FULL site definition).
2. With the site still selected in Site manager, REMOVE it.
3. Now IMPORT the site definition you just exported.
That can also fix this troublesome problem.

Dreamweaver Template not updating pages error code 2?

Hi All
I wonder if someone can help me - I have a site that i made with Dreamweaver. I then got a new computer (windows 7) and updated my dreamweaver from cs4 to cs5. I have just tried to update my pages and it doesnt seems to be working.
Not sure what information you need - but I have a root folder and within the root site there is a folder with Templates and the templates have the extension .dwt
I have read some posts that say recreate the cache which i have tried - this hasnt worked
I then read another post that says you can update the pages by Modify > templates > Update Pages..
When i tried this I get the update dialog box, but when i try to update the pages i get the following error message:
"error accessing file - (name of the dwt file), file not found, error code 2"
Can i ask the what is the error code 2 - i mean is there any information about the error code which will help me to resolve my templates not being found? as i am bit stuck...

I would like further help with the issue Guy McMickle identified.
When I update links to my two template files I receive the above Error Code 2 message four times. There are 22 page files based on these templates.
The <!-- InstanceBegin template... code does not exist in either of the template files. I does, however, show up in every one of the 21 files that were created from one of the two templates. In these files it shows up in uneditable header code.
Why does the error code only show up four times? If the instanceBegin code is only generated when a file is created based on a template, how can it be avoided or corrected?

Template not updating pages upon save

I'm having an issue with DW CC where I make changes to a template and save it but it doesn't update any pages. What is even stranger is if I open the pages and I save the template it will update the opened pages but not any closed ones. Anybody else run into this problem?

I filled out the form that somebody linked to aboe and I actually got a response from Adobe recognizing this as a BUG. Now if they would just fix it. Response from Adobe is below.

Templates not updating pages at all

I have a similar problem to several other posters. I have one
template that is attached to about a dozen pages. When I make a
change to the template, and then save it, not dialog comes up
asking if I want to update the dependent pages, and the changes are
not reflected in the page, it just saves the document.
If I open one of the dependent pages, and do
Modify>Template>Apply template to page, the changes do show
up.
I have other sites on this computer where the Template
function works correctly, so it is not a bug or problem with my
Dreamweaver, just this particular template or site. I am using
Dreamweaver 8.0.2 on a Mac Book Pro (the newer Intel one).

As I look at the code, it seems like it makes sense, I just
am at a loss for what to do.

Template not updating pages properly

I have several pages, all started from the same template. The path to an image in the template is <img src="../index.php" width="140" height="200" alt="Balgonie Baptist Church Logo"> but on the pages that are updated from this template they are:
<img src="index.php" width="140" height="200" alt="Balgonie Baptist Church Logo"> . The 2 periods from the source path are not there on the pages. I think something like this happened before, what am I doing wrong? I'm a newbe.

#1 .PHP is not an image extension. It is an HTML page containing server-side code.
Images should have file names with .jpg or .png or .gif.
#2 template.dwt files reside inside a Templates folder. That's why links in templates contain the leading dots -- ../images/somefile.jpg
#3 When you create a new page from template and save it to the root of your site, DW correctly removes the leading dots for you -- images/somefile.jpg. At least that's how it should work.

I created a template, then created pages based on that template. I make a change to the template, save, it says it will update my 10 pages, then the log shows that 0 pages were updated. I check the pages, they didn't update. What's the problem? Why are my pages not updated?

Template not updating pages

My customer wanted me to add some google analytics to some of
their pages. So I tried to make an editable area just above the
</body> tag so that I could put the specific code on just
some of their pages. But when I did this, it put  after the </body> tag. I don't know why it
did this. But now all of the pages have this stuck on the pages. I
updated the template to remove this bottom editable region but when
I update the pages, all of the code is still showing and I can't
get rid of it. I'm sure it's because this  is after the body tag. How can I fix this? You can view the

That page's template markup is perfectly normal. The 
*SHOULD* be where it is on all template child pages.

Output shown in Design view of Dreamweaver CS6 is not same as shown by the browsers

I have made a yoga website http://ballychohan.co/ in Dreamweaver CS6. I faced this problem while designing the website.The results shown by Design view in Dreamweaver is not correct. It made me very confused at the starting. Please tell me how to overcome this problem of DreamWeaver. Should I install a lower version of Dreamweaver ?

Does the page show correctly in a browser?
Dreamweaver design view is not very reliable at renedering designs exactly the way you want them to look, especailly if you use more of the complex and up-to-date css, now available. Dreamweaver is always playing catch-up in that area.

Remote file template not updating on website

Hello I am very very new to dreamweaver and have been handed a website that I have to maintain and make changes to.
The website uses a template called index with further nested templates as shown
The index template contains the code for the Menu Bar and footer and although I have been able to make other updates and changes I am finding that any changes to the code on this template do not show up on the site. The strange thing is that both the local and remote code has updated as I would like it is just the website itself that is not changing. When I view the website source code it is different to the remote file code. I assume that the link between the two is somehow broken but I do not know how to fix it. Is there a trick to fixing such a problem or am I wrong about this being the problem?

Jon Fritz that did actually work for some of the pages but not others. I upadted each invidivual page, except the main page as I have not finished the content and now some of the pages are acting strangely.

As you can see every page except the 'Contacts' and 'Links' page is now reading the correct code when you click on the 'Consortium' tab. The strange thing however is that the footer has updated on the 'Links' page suggesting that this part of the template has updated. Both these pages are based on the Index-misc nested template. It is possible to hypothesize the same for environmental impacts – i.e. the sustainability of a product is largely determined during the early design stage. In order to allow designers to make well-informed decisions, new design methods and tools are needed to provide the basis for determining the degree of sustainability of a given product or process. Many eco-design procedures and tools have been developed but they are often far from a practical day-by-day application in company engineering departments, and they are not well integrated with computer-aided design tools.   This project wants to make up for this limitation and to develop an eco-design methodology (called G.EN.ESI) and a related software design tool (called the G.EN.ESI platform) able to help product designers in ecological design choices, without losing sight of cost and typical practicalities of industry. The software platform will propose a guided process towards eco-design among several design choices based on the different scenarios of product lifecycle. The proposed approach will be applied to the household appliance field but it can be easily extended to other mechatronic products.</p>
      <p>The project started in February 2012 and will continue until January 2015.</p>

Dreamweaver CS6 do not launch

Hi guys
I need help!
My Dreamweaver CS6 do not launch.
It bounces and nothing happens.
I have tried everything and it is still not working!
I have the Adobe CS6 Master Collection.
All other programs work just fine!
My specs:
iMac 21,5 - late 2012
OSX 10.8.3
3,1GHz Intel Core i7
What I've tried:
1] Changed the permissions on the program it self, made sure it's set to "read & write" for the users
2] Unstinalled and re-installed Dreamweaver CS6 - with the Administrator account
3] Unstinalled and re-installed Dreamweaver CS6 - with the Root User account
Step by step:
I have (for both Administrator and Root User) done the above in the following steps:
1] Repair disk permissons [Still not working]
2] Unistall Dremweaver
3] Re-boot
4] Repair disk permissions
5] Re-boot
6] Re-install Dreamwever
7] Re-boot
8] Launch Dreamweaver
- and still, just bounces and disappears, not working!
I am now totaly out of ideas on what to do!
My old CS5.5 worked without a glitch!
Help Please!

Yes, CS5.5 did work before, but doesn't anymore.
The thing is that CS6 did work and I installed it in December (or maybe possibly january). And it's the upgrade version from 5.5 if that would make any difference?
All I have done is to create 5 simple HTML pages for a friend and their band, nothing fancy.
I haven't set up a site or anything, no FTP stuff and so on. I haven't really had the time to use CS6.
The other day i decided to start creating my new, much over due, update of my old site.
And I really want and need to use the new features of CS6, like the ability to easiely set up for different devices (I am an old HTML 4 CSS guy and are reading upp on HTML5 and CSS3).
That's when i discovered that CS6 did no longer work and here I am :-)
I have been using Photoshop and Dreamweaver for as longs as I can remember so I know there's nothing wrong with the product, it was a comment out of dispare

Not a problem with the time. I appreciate all the help I can get :-)
As long as it ends up with me working in CS6 again.
I am currently restoring the MAC from a Time Machine copy from early january, if that doesn't work (and you guys can't come up with a nifty solution) I will have to restore the iMAC to it's original state.
