Dreamweaver CS6 update 12.0.1 released
Hi everyone,
A patch has been made available to Dw CS6 version. The patch fixes customer reported issues related to FTP and Business Catalyst workflows.
There have been bug fixes made to Find and Replace panel along with Integration with Adobe Proto project files.

Hi Sarthak-- have you guys addressed the excessive CPU usage issue in this patch? I'm not seeing any reference to it in the release notes, which is very surprising. This is an extremely well-documented issue, as seen here and here. I've experienced the issue on Windows and others have seemed to experience much worse sypmptoms on MacOS as described in the aforementioned thread. I've been using DW5.5 while awaiting a fix for this issue.

I've just installed the latest Dreamweaver CS6 update delivered via Adobe updater, and now can't launch Dreamweaver.
Launch fails with the message 'Dreamweaver.exe - Ordinal Not Found. The Ordinal 230 could not be located in the dynamic link library VIC32.DLL'
Running on Windows 7.
Anyone know how to fix this?

It turns out that I don't have a vic32.dll at all in the Dreamweaver CS6 program directory. Presumably one was there before the update as everything worked ok.
Fortunately I still have CS5 set up, and found the vic32.dll in that directory was the 5.65.0.0 version that you have.
I've just copied that across to the CS6 structure and now everything seems to be working fine.
Maybe the updater gets confused if an earlier version still exists?
Anyway thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction. -
Dreamweaver CS6 - update Links
Hello
to make the story short, i have started building my web site with dreamweaver cs6.
i create the first page of my web site then I saved the file alot of time to make my contact, product .....
know i started to link the "home, contact button and everything else"
but its not updating on all of the pages,
isn't it suppose to update on all the web page?
maybe i am doing something wrong .
any help will be appriciated
thanks alotUnless your pages are created from a Template page (.dwt extension), then you will ahve to go into each individual page and manually correct the links to point to the correct resource. A Template page allows you to create a "template" that the rest of the pages of your site will be based off of. Within the template you define areas for page content (the areas where each page will be different). Then you start creating pages based off the template. Whenever you make a change to theTemplate, all the child pages based off that template will get updated (except the areas you defined for page content). When editing pages based off a template, you'll notice grayed-out areas of code - this is code that's locked down by the template and can't be edited within the child pages.
But before using Dreamweaver Template pages, please review the Dreamweaver help files and read about them - we have many people come to these forums who have gotten very lost trying to use templates so please do read and learn about them before using them. -
Dreamweaver CS6-updating template doesn't update pages, update screen hangs
I'm working with a dwt file provided with shopping cart software which I purchased from a third party developer. I've made changes on the main.dwt provided to personalize it for my business. To begin with, everything seemed to be going smoothly, but then at some point, updating the template stopped updating the pages dependent on it, unless the pages are actually open in Dreamweaver. Even when the pages are open, however, the "Update files dependent on" box seems to hang. If I click "close" it asks if I want to stop updating the site. It's very cumbersome to have to open every page in the site in order to get the changes in the template to propagate to the pages. I'm running CS6 on Windows 7 Home Premium. My site is not yet published, so I can't provide a link to it. It's still on the drawing board.
Is the .dwt template file still within the Dreamweaver generated Templates folder in your site root?

If it's not, that can cause all kinds of problems in DW. -
Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 has stopped working
Hello - I am attempting to download and install a trial version of Dreamweaver 6 on my PC running Win7 Pro 32 bit service pack 1 with 4GB RAM and an E6300 processor. I have managed to download and extract the application but once I attempt to launch the program, I get a Dreamweaver panel that says it is installing files, then after a few minutes I receive the error message below and the installation window goes blank.
I have attempted the installation 3 different times using ADA and the direct download methods described in the FAQ's but in every instance, I have been met with this same error. I have disabled my firewall and antivirus but I still get this error. Between installation attempts, I have removed DW6 via the remove programs function in the control panel and restarted my PC. I seem to be able to download the application fine but every time I attempt to run it, I get this error. Any words of wisdom. Thank you.Hey Mylenium I have an update for you. I got the application to start, here is what I did. Thinking the problem might be permissions related, I went to the application directory, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6, and gave full control to all users and cleared the "read only" for the application directory and all files in the subordinate file structure. Then using Windows Explorer, I navigated to a CSS file that I was working on with a text editor. I right clicked the CSS file and selected "Edit with Dreamweaver 6". To my surprise the file opened in Dreamweaver. Since then, I have used DW to create an HTML website with external JavaScript and CSS files. Dreamweaver now opens when I double click the application icon.
Even though I got it to work, I captured a related event from event viewer and the installation log for referrence and the benefit of others.

Dreamweaver cs6 install problems
I've just installed the latest Dreamweaver CS6 update delivered via Adobe updater, and now can't launch Dreamweaver.
Launch fails with the message 'Dreamweaver.exe - Ordinal Not Found. VIC32.DLL'
Running on Windows 7.
Anyone know how to fix this?Moving this discusison to the Dreamweaver forum. Graphicasm253 it sounds like you are now experiencing a launch failure after you have applied the most recent update for Dreamweaver is this correct? If so did you receive any errors when applying the update? Please follow the link Kglad offered to verify if any errors did occur during the process of applying the update.

Dreamweaver CS6 CRASHES, When making new Business Catalyst Site
Whenever I click Site > New Business Catalyst Site , The loading screen comes up and then the whole program goes unrepsonsive and windows says to close program
I have Windows7 Home Premium , 16 GB RAM , AMD Phenom II x 6, 3.2 Ghz Black Edition , I don't think it's my computer speed

Is the emailID provided during installation of Dreamweaver CS6 valid one? Its the same ID which the BusinessCatalyst tries to signup with.
If there are already BC site connections in Dreamweaver, go to files panel and connect to it, provide the AdobeID password.
Else try opening Manage Site dialog and click on Import Business Catalyst site , provide the AdobeID password.

Updates to the non-cloud version of dreamweaver cs6
I have the non cloud version of Adobe Dreamweaver cs6 version 12.0 Build 5861
Is there an update for this? I see that there are some for the cloud version. Are they only updating that, and the folks that bought the CD are out of luck?
Looking like maybe there was some phonegap updates that might be useful plus some other small issues I have might have been fixed?The last patch/bug fix released for CS6 on perpetual license was 12.03 update which can be obtained from the link below:

The update is a little weird, it drops some key features of Dreamweaver that are very useful like expanded tables mode for one thing, however if you don't use this go ahead and upgrade - there are instructions for what you do BEFORE you update on the page for the link above. It WILL wipe out any preferences that you have setup so you have to export those before updating to make sure that you can add them back once the update is finished.
Upgrade instructions below - remember to read the document linked above first. Good luck if you decide to upgrade, I personally wouldn't until they fix all the new problems, but it sounds like you have a specific need in mind.
Upgrade to Dreamweaver Creative Cloud
This 12.1 upgrade includes fixes from the earlier Dreamweaver 12.0.1 patch release.
Open Dreamweaver.
Select Help > Updates.
In the Adobe Application Manager, select the Dreamweaver update.

Stable updates to Dreamweaver CS6 build 5842 (Was: Simple Questions)
I'm using creative suite 6 design & web premiun. Question: Using Dreamweaver cs6 version 12.0 build 5842 and I'm wondering if there are any version updates I need to do and if they are stable? I see updates 12.0.1 and 12.0.2 and 12.03 listed and see there have been issues. Question: Are these now clean for updating and do you need to install all of them or just the newest update?. Question: I do updates within dreamweaver but wondering if these are separate stand alone updates?
There are several versions of DW CS6 for perpetual license holders & Cloud subscribers.
Perpetual Licensed 12.0 was the ORIGINAL release. 2 subsequent updates, 12.01 and 12.02, were made available to fix some early bugs. In my experience, they were both stable. If you don't have them already, get the last update 12.02 in DW's Help menu, by clicking on Updates.
Additional CS6 updates were made available to Cloud subscribers only: 12.1 & 12.2. These included some significant changes to the interface. Among them, changes to the Insert Menu with the removal of some features and the addition of others. See link below for details.

Error on installing updates to Dreamweaver CS6
I am running Dreamweaver CS6 v12.0 and I was checking to see if there were any updates available. I located three of them on the downloads page and proceeded to try to install the next version up from mine. It downloaded and I ran the installer, however I'm getting an error: Dreamweaver CS6 12.0.1 update to address critical issues Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7. This number is not listed in the possible causes for this, so does anyone know what it is I need to do to get this to work? I also tried to download another of the updates but that would not even download. Any help would be appreciated.

When will you actually updated Dreamweaver CS6 for Windows 8?
Dreamweaver CS6 in Windows 8 becomes corrupt overtime. Last month I tried to update a PHP file and it crashed. After a few attempts, the program would not reopen. I went through tech support and they removed the .dat files. as suggested (as they could be corrput) and it did not work. I had to reinstall the program. Now the Find and Replace feature does not work and is currently crashing the program. Also, your current online documentation support is all under Vista and older window platdforms,nothing that mentions Windows 8. So as an FYI, They are not the same operating system. As the some of the locations of files within your documentation etc. are inaccurate. So as far as I can see, your online support and program is not current for Window 8 users.
Thanks. I don't have any of the operating systems mentioned below though. Whys is Windows 8 not mentioned? Should I follow the instructions for Windows 7?

What options do I have when Dreamweaver CS6 version 12 won't update to 12.0.3 without an error message say the Application Manager is corrupt? The Application manager has been updated and installed but i get the same error message when i try to install the 12.0.3 update.

Dreamweaver CS6 CC Update hangs at 12%
Hi guys ...
New to Creative Cloud and had a number of updates available today. Most of them installed fine, but DW CS6 update 12.1.1 just hangs at 12% when installing.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Can't get through to Adobe support ... everything just says "we are busy" (sigh)
The only way I can kill AAM is by restarting the machine once I get to this point, and another attempt to start the update does exactly the same thingA very nice man from Adobe Customer Care just called and helped me to resolve this.
Maybe a glitch in AAM he thought, so he just applied the update via Dreamweaver's Help menu. All sorted now
