    Hello Joe,
did you purchase your product from these firms like Amazon? If yes, this is not a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. Please have a look at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html. (Start here: How did you purchase your product?)
The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.

  • When installing Adobe Illustrator CS6, the Installer says "Your installation encountered errors" but error summary file lists 0 fatal errors, 0 errors, 0 warnings.

    How should I proceed?
    I'm running Windows 7.

    Sure! Here it is:
    "Installation Failed
    Your installation encountered errors.
The error summary file may help you identify the issue.
    More troubleshooting tips:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Exit all applications including startup items, virus checking and firewall software.
    3. Close this window and launch the installer again to reinstall your application.
If the problems persist, please contact Customer Support for further assistance."
I tried all three of the tips suggested in the troubleshooting.
    The error summary file says:
    Exit Code: 20
    -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
    - 0 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 0 warning(s)

The installer for iTunes free download says when installing "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail." I have been to the help page and run Disk Utility (not sure if that's worked or not) and it still comes up with this. Please help me get iTunes back up and running. Thanks

Go to HD>Library>Receipts - remove the iTunesX.pkg receipt. Drag the iTunes app to the trash.
Repair permissions with Disk Utility - reboot - then try to run the installer.

  • HELP!:The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the sofware manufacturer for assistance.

So first things first i actually have Mac OS X Lion but i installed Mac OS Snow Leopard in a virtual machine to install "Logic Pro 8" because Lion does not support "PowerPC" Applications (Logic Pro 8 is PowerPC Application). And i tried to install it many tiimes but it always mess up at the end of the install and it says: The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the sofware manufacturer for assistance.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance !

Contact the virtualization software developer. Unless you're running server, virtualizing SL w/Lion isn't supported. That, most likely is your issue.

You should be able to install Mac OS X 10.7 or later on your 2011 MacBook Pro without issue, if it came with 10.6.3 as your signature suggests.  Mind you, any 2011 MacBook Pro must use the original 10.6 installer disc labelled MacBook Pro if it desires to have 10.6 installed on it.   The retail installer disc will not work on that model, nor will one from another age MacBook Pro, or other model labelled installer.  Also
10.7 came both on USB Flash drive and Mac App Store installer versions.   Both required either 10.6.6 minimum be pre-installed, or no Mac OS X operating system on the drive or partition it was to be installed on.
10.7.1 through 10.7.5 combo could be installed only once 10.7 had been installed.  A combo update is available for installing on top of any version of 10.7.  Otherwise only the preceding version could be updated to the next.
10.8 came only on Mac App Store installer.  It is available only to 10.6.8 and later users.
10.8.1 to 10.8.5 combo could be installed only once 10.8 had been installed.  A combo update is available for installing on top of any version of 10.8.  Otherwise only the preceding version could be updated to the next.
10.9 came only on Mac App Store installer. It is available only to 10.6.8 and later users.
Both 10.9 and 10.9.1 had a serious security vulnerability, which only 10.9.2 addressed.
10.9.2 combo could be installed only once 10.9 had been installed.
For all three Mac App Store releases, the partition to be installed on had to be GUID partition formatted according to Apple Disk Utility.

  • Your installation encountered errors. Installer failed to initialize. (CS5.5 upgrade)

I am trying to install CS5.5 on an HP laptop running Windows 7. It is an upgrade version. I had it installed once, but InDesign did not function fully (could not access any tools or choose any of my paragraph style definitions). So I uninstalled and tried again. Now I can't get past the "Finish" window that reads as follows:
    Installation Status
    Your installation encountered errors
Please try restarting your system and installing again
    Installer failed to initialize
Contact Customer Support for further assistance
    <Click> DONE
First let me say that contacting "Customer Support" is ineffectual. They will tell you that it is a tech problem and to contact Technical Support.
Before I began getting this message over and over, upon installation, I would be told that the resolution of my monitor did not meet minimum requirements and needed to be set to at least 1024 x 768. My monitor was set to 1600 x 900.
How can I get CS5.5 Design Premium to install on my laptop? TYSM (in advance) for any help.

CyberAmazon54 I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the Creative Suite 5.5 software you are trying to install.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

    Jen,
Here's what I did to get Lion installed:
Burn the installer to a DVD and install from there. It worked for me. Here's what you need to do:
First you need another computer running at least 10.6.8.
    1. On the other computer go to 'App Store' (make sure you're logged in to the App Store with the AppleID you used on the troubled computer)
    2. Click on 'Purchased' in the 'App Store' window's toolbar
    3. If you are on 10.6.8, and haven't downloaded Lion on that computer just click "Install" to download the installation application.
    3. a, if the other computer is already running Lion, you'll need to re-download the installer.
    3. b. Hold down 'Option' when selecting 'Purchased' then you click "Install"
    4. When the Lion Installer starts up, just quit it. You want to work with the Installer application.
    5. Find the "Install Lion OS X" application in the 'Applications' folder.
    6. Hold down 'Control' and click on the application and select 'Show Package Contents'
    7. Find 'InstallESD.dmg' which is in the "Shared Support" folder and copy it to your desktop.
    8. Burn 'InstallESD.dmg' to a DVD ('Disk Utility' is simplest to do this).
    9. Put the new install DVD into the computer that has Lion partially installed and reboot holding down the "C" key.
    10. run the installer as normal, selecting your harddrive as the target.
In my case, when it rebooted to the harddisk the Lion installer started AGAIN. If this happens, let it run. Then you should be done.
    Hope this helps.

  • Your installation encountered errors

My HDD has recently failed, and in the process of reinstalling CS5.5 Master Collection (which was purchased as an upgrade to CS2 Premium) have encounted the following error message "Your installation encountered errors" - all but InDesign and Acrobat Pro have been installed.  After receiving this error message for the first time I uninstall the collection, restarted, then commenced the installation process again only to receive the same message.  It would appear that both serial numbers (CS2 Premium + CS5.5 MC) were accepted when prompted to enter details.   Any advice from Adobe Experts would be most helpful!!  P.S. Working on Win platform (64bit).

Acro and ID not installing could point to issues with the PDF libraries, so uninstall any existing version of Acro/ Adobe Reader, run the Acrobat Cleaner Tool and the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and try again. Otehrwise provide the install logs.
