Dreamweaver / Fireworks 4 Linux

With Ubuntu getting more and more polished with every
release, it is getting really tempting to swtich over from virus /
spyware ridden windows.
The following browsers can be installed on Ubuntu
1. Firefox
2. Opera
3. IEs4Linux (
http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/index-en.html)
4. Konqueror (test for Safari)
How many of us would shift to Linux if Adobe allowed us, a
ONE time license shift from Windows to Linux

Not me. Linux has nothing to offer me....

  • Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Acrobat, Word, Firefox, and Safari Quit

I upgraded to SL from Leopard and the install was fine. All my hardware was and is fine.
However, now when I try to save, export, import, save for web, browse for a file and sometimes in the middle of working in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Acrobat, Word, and Powerpoint each one will quit unexpectedly. Even Firefox, and Safari have quit while surfing.
The report has a variation on:

    Exception Codes: KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE at 0x0000000000000012

    This is killing me...
    Any solutions?

  • Deactivate Dreamweaver- Windows crashed, linux?

I have Dreamweaver CS3 installed on my computer as well as my laptop and it is essential that I have it at both because I am not able to always have my laptop with me and vice versa. A few days ago my computer crashed and I have been getting the BSOD, blue screen of death, everytime I turn on the computer and it says that my hard drive is corrupt. However, I am able to use a Ubuntu Linux start up flash drive I created a boot up the computer using Linux and access my hard drive. I was wondering if there was anyway to deactivate Dreamweaver by using Linux and somehow editing or changing the .exe file or something because I know Linux cannot open .exe files. Any help would really be appreciated because if I can not figure this out then i will lose usage in one of my computers.

You need to call support by phone. Nothing anyone here can do.

  • Online Photo Albums With Dreamweaver/FireWorks

I try to make an online photo album with dreamweaver and fireworks and it says an "internal error occured" and wont work. Any idea wha the problem is?

    Hi,
I am really not sure why you would have that problem. If there is any way you can explain what you did exactly in your coding.
Are you trying to do this in your website?
    http://blogger-templates.blogspot.com/2005/09/flash-slideshow.html
If you are trying to do a photo album there are several tutorials online that help you out(are you trying to use Flickr?). I personally make my own photo slideshows using Flash.
Let me know how it goes,

  • Very basic workflow question Dreamweaver/Fireworks

I created an index.png page in Fireworks, which includes a
    navigation bar with buttons.
From Fireworks I export the html and images and then open the
    file in Dreamweaver.
In Dreamweaver I create "stub" pages and link the navigation
bar buttons to these "stub" pages.
Now if i want to go back and modify the index.png in
Fireworks, when i re-export the page, all the links i created in
    Dreamweaver are broken.
Is there a way to prevent this?
For example, suppose i want to go back and make changes to
the graphics such as adding a border to the page. I don't want to
clobber my links every time when i re-export.
    Thank you!

Over the years, I've helped countless people who are just
    creating a
site for their local school or community. Most of the time,
    the site has
worked well, in spite of convoluted code. It's when they
    change
something and the code starts to unravel that the real
    problems begin.
    > If someone is that concerned about it, go through the
    code and make
    > the necessary adjustments.
That's fine, if you have the skill to go through the code.
    Many of the
people seeking help in these forums don't have that skill.
Alan Musselman, the Fireworks project manager, is quite clear
    about the
purpose of Fireworks HTML. He says it's for doing quick
    mockups. It's
not intended to be used on a live website.
Perhaps it's not all that important for the amateur, who may
    make only
one or two websites in a lifetime. Unfortunately, a lot of
    so-called
"professionals" seem unaware of the problems, too.

  • Dreamweaver/Fireworks javascript error

I've been using Fireworks and Dreamweaver for a while.
I'm rebuilding our website, and made my navigation
bar/buttons in Fireworks just like I did on the previous page.
    exported as html.
then I went to dreamweaver and inserted fireworks html... The
buttons worked for a while. one day when I was home I thought I'd
work on it some more, and ever since, whenever I insert the button,
    i get this error...
"while executing object tag in fireworks html a javascript
    error occured"
i can even start with a blank html file and insert any
fireworks file, even the one that works on the current site, and I
    get that error.
I created a new simple button, and still get that error...
The only thing I can think of that's might could have caused
this... at work I have the newer CS3 suite and Dreamweaver 4, and
at home I just have Dreamweaver 4.
Could something have caused this by using both versions when
    working on this new site?

    > it leaves some javascript code in there...
    Oh. I see.
    > thanks i will check them out...
Way better than the FW menus.

  • Dreamweaver fireworks upgrading to yosemite problem

RE: fireworks and dreamweaver: I desperately need a new computer which means upgrading from 10.6.8 (snow leopard) to YOSEMITE.  I have been using CS3 fireworks and dreamweaver constantly for my business for many years.  I do not want a learning curve so thought I would upgrade to CS5 but I hear that there might still be problems on Yosemite.  I do NOT want to learn new setup nor encounter trouble with my old files.  PLUS I see that CS5 costs hundreds of dollars.  ANY SUGGESTIONS on what is closest thing to my CS3 THAT will work with Yosemite AND is there any way not to have to pay hundreds of dollars e.g. $500+)

Your comfort zone aside, almost every new software these days requires a modern OS and 64 bit computer.   CS6 and CC are compatible with Yosemite.  But CS5 is not listed in the compatibility FAQ so it is a risky venture for software that is outdated, no longer supported by Adobe and 7 versions removed from the current Creative Cloud offerings.
Old HTML files will still work in DW CS6 or CC.  However the products have received many updates. So take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with what's deprecated and what's new in DW.
    The deprecated features list:

New Features in CC 2014 June Release

New Features in CC 2014.1 October Release
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/whats-new.html
A 30-day trial costs nothing to examine.  And you'll have access to more than 17 products including PS Extended, DW, IL, MU, Edge Animate, and much, much more...

  • Dreamweaver on a Linux Server

I am trying to find out... Will Dreamweaver work on a Linux
server? We are in the process of buying new servers and need to
    find out...
    Thanks...

No, it will not run in *nix. But the pages it creates will
    work on any
flavor webserver, that supports the scripting method used.

  • Dreamweaver, Fireworks pop menu and Flash  banner issue

For some unknown reasons I am not getting my Fireworks
pop-menu to show over a flash banner. It looks like it's working,
but hidden behind the flash banner

    >>but hidden behind the flash banner
That's because Flash content rises to the top, so to speak.
    There is a
kludge/hack using the wmode parameter but I believe it only
    works in IE.
Your best bet is to redesign the page so the Flash is
    separated from the
    menu.

  • Dreamweaver & Fireworks 8

In order to get Fireworks 8 into my Preferences - File

I can't think of anything more helpful than this.

  • Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash 8 Working in 10.5?

    Hi,
Has anyone tried the older DW, FW, Flash 8 in Leo yet? I've seen elsewhere that CS3 versions work, but I'm stuck in 2005 and need to know if they work in 10.5.
    Thanks,
    -Mark

    Mark,
After poking around, I may have found the answer for my quandry:
-- Everyone suggests doing an "Archive and Install" upgrade, which I did. Apparently this installation doesn't move all files over to the new system, including some vital Studio 8 files.
-- The "Upgrade" installation just installs the new system in place. This leaves the prefs files et al. undisturbed.
Some people are reporting Flash 8, DW 8 are working fine. I think it's because they did the upgrade install. I may try this myself if I find it's successful and the programs work fine.
However, I'm sticking with 10.4.10 for the time being until I get more info on it.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you decide to install Leopard and how it goes.

  • Locked out of Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash.

I haven't used these apps in awhile, but I tried to open them, and it asked me for my password, so I typed it in, and after three times it said the password is wrong, what do I, do now?

Maybe call Macromedia or check their web site for support forums?

  • I have CC, but it is telling me that Illustrator, Dreamweaver & Fireworks are only 30 day trials?

I am subscribed to Creative Cloud and when i downloaded AI, DW, and FW, it says that each is just a "30 day trial"

    Hi mariahewood,
When you launch any CC apps you will get an option to license this software. Select License this software and sign in with your Adobe Id. The subscription should get activated.

  • Error 0xc00007B  when trying to run Dreamweaver and Fireworks

I installed without problems Creative suite CS6  on a Win 7 pro 64 bit system.  I uninstalled some adobe programs (acrobat reader, photoshop) before installing the suite.  And I also run the Adobe Cleaner.      All the 64 bit applications run but some of the 32 bit applications wont.    The ones that dont are DREAMWEAVER, FIREWORKS, EXTENSION MANAGER and FLASH.      The all give me:    "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click Ok to close the application"
I have uninstalled, cleaned and reinstall 3 times with the same results.
I would appreciate any advice in how to solve this.
    Thanks,

  • How do I insert Fireworks Slideshow (non flash) into Dreamweaver?

I have been trying to import a slideshow from flash that I created from the built in template. I used the player that does not require a flash plug in and I cannot figure out how to insert it into my webpage in Dreamweaver. When I post the code directly it says that I have to enable java script?  I am new to dreamweaver/fireworks and coding. I know that it should be simple, but I have not been able to figure it out.  Thank you for any help you can offer!

I don't use that function, but here's a list of articles that may prove useful:

You could also look at using jquery, very simple to use and help docs come with most of the apps.
