Dreamweaver FLV Plyaer not working on website
Hey guys,
I am completely new to website editing and to facilitate my life I have integrated Dreamweaver CS3's Media (FLV) tool to play videos on my website. It works fine in dreamweaver under live view but as soon as I preview it in browser it doesn't work I have also tried to access it online and it doesn't work. Basically I have uploaded 5 videos on the same page and all I get when I load the page are the video headings and white spaces (No signs of loading/buffering). Have any of you had this problem before? The website is http://www.soccerexperience.com/pg_media_astro.html.
Thanks in advance for your helpful support
@Sudarshan
The mp4 videos inside a <video> will play correctly on HTML 4 sites - there is absolutely no requirement to change the doctype and it makes no difference to its function. It won't however validate as the <video> tag is not recognised as an element - it is just treated as a <div>.
@YVanCrombrugge
I am not really sure what is going on with your page however there are a few things you need to check/amend and see if it helps.
The videos are cancelling on load. How have you encoded these videos?
As already advised, use JW Player, YouTube or another video player - it will save some headaches.
Your video_js script is returning 404 not found. You will need to check its URL.
The main reason you have been advised on a video player is so the videos will play across all browsers. At the moment, without a webm or ogg video, FireFox can not play your mp4 video. An interesting note is that even though your video plays on the home page, a direct link to it doesn't load the video. Your video on the homepage also has a , in the filename. This should not be there.

FLV player not working on website
Well recently I've been making a website, I'm recently new to Dreamweaver, and previously I had input two FLV's in two different AP div boxes. They both worked fine, but after creating a few more pages, I can only come back to see it broken. Instead of a play button with the bar, it's just a picture with the play, pause buttons all over it (attached). I'm really confused why, I don't think I edited it at all. I'm really stressing out because my projet is due tomorrow and this last problem just arises!
Thank
P.s I currently use Dreamweaver Cs6 on Mountain Lion Mac.Hello,
we had some similar questions in this forum already. So my first suggestion is that you use the forum search function with the keywords from above. See e.g.:
http://forums.adobe.com/community/dreamweaver/search.jspa?peopleEnabled=true&userID=&spotl ight=false&containerType=14&container=2240&rankBy=date&q=flv+player+not+working+on+website
To analyze better you should send us a link to your website in question, no matter how it looks like.

Ctrl-T command do not work in website with flash
Ctrl-T command do not work in website with flash

In such cases you need to click outside that plugin (e.g. the menu bar if you can't click on the website) to make the keyboard work. -
Dreamweaver Spry Menu not working on I pad
Hi
I have built a website and currently have issues with the spry menu bar not working with the ipad i phones etc.
When you press the link the dropdown menu does not appear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The website is www.jkwindowsanddoors.co.uk and the link is the products in the spry menu bar.
Many ThanksThe Spry menu system was created prior to the advance of touch screens. The action that causes the Spry sub-menu to appear is the hover event, an event that does not exist in touch screen technology.
What I am trying to say is that the Spry menu system cannot be used for touch screens. You are better off using pure CSS menus or jQuery menus. -
Arrow and space keys not working on websites
I can't seem to get my arrow keys or space keys to work playing flash games on websites. An example would be this game: http://progressivefastandfurious.com When this game starts the car does not move anywhere because the keyboard keys won't work. What's odd is that they seem to work everywhere else (ex: typing doc etc.) This is not related only to this site but pretty much any flash or shockwave site that needs the use of the arrow keys. I also get weird responses when using the extended keyboard with the dashboard calculator. I assume these are coming from the same issue. I bought a new keyboard and my old one does the same thing.
Dual 2.7 GHz PowerPC G5 Mac OS X (10.4.7) 2GB DDR RAM, airport, bluetoothI take back the "extended keyboard not working in calculator" it seems to be working now. As for flash, not so much. I also found out it is all keys that do not work in flash. Here is a good example:
http://www.miniclip.com/games/base-jumping/en
That game asks you to it any key to get started. I was not even able to do that. I also had focus set on the flash movie so I know it should have worked.
In another game which is not flash but shockwave (director compiled file):
http://www.miniclip.com/games/on-the-run/en/
Hit the how to play button. The "P,S, and R" keys work but the other keys do not while playing this game. I am starting to thing I have some sort of accessibility thing turned on that interferes with certain keys. Anyone know of anything that may effect this? -
Dreamweaver FTP does not work after migration
Migrated from Tiger on older laptop to my new MacBook Pro. Everything went well except dreamweaver needed me to reregister the software which I did with my product key.
I can not get my Dreamweaver MX to ftp. When I go back to my old mac, dreamweaver works fine.
Also the clock will not keep the right time.
Any suggestions?Dreamweaver MX is NOT Leopard compatible. Adobe released patches for CS3 when Leopard came out, and CS4 is also fully compatible.

Comments Not Working on Website - published to non-.mac server
Hi there. I've read on a few non-apple sites of users having trouble with Comments and some other functions of their websites, built in iWeb, not working when they publish to a non-.mac server. I've built my website in iWeb, published via CyberDuck to a BlueHost server -- but now users can not post comments on my blog.
Has anyone found a way to fix this issue??
It seems incredibly pointless to even now have my own domain. I'm super close to giving up on iWeb all together because of this ridiculous issue.
Thanks in advance.
www.kellerowski.comUnfortunately, blog comments are a MobileMe only feature along with the hit counter etc.
You have to publish to MobileMe if you want these features.
There are workarounds however. If you want to continue to use an iWeb blog, then you can use a third party comments feature. Take a look here http://www.intensedebate.com. It is free to set up on the site and all you then do is copy and paste the code into an html snippet on the page you want comments to appear in whatever format you want them.
Your other option is to ditch iWeb and if it is just a blog you want, use something like http://www.wordpress.com. This is free and you don't need a domain name and the blog is published on WordPress servers.
Your other option for a blog is http://www.posterous.com.
The iWeb blog system is not that good, so you might look into changing if a blog is what you want rather than a website. -
Flash Player not working on website
I have been getting complaints that my flash videos on http://www.lakefishingtechniques.com are not working right on safari moble. How can I correct this?
The problem was the Shockwave Flash Object settings on Internet Explorer was not enabled. I went to the TOOLS pull down menu and selected "Managed Add-Ons" and then selected the "Toolbars and Extensions" and found that Shockwave Flash Object was not enabled. Once I enabled Shockwave Flash Object everything worked correctly.

Published .swf not working on website
Hi,
I am new to Catalyst, and just finished my first project.
It worked great when I went to "run project"
I changed the name of Main.html to Index.html (left the main.swf) and copied the "deployed to web folder" to the /public_hml folder in the FTP server.
The problem is that when I go to my site address nothing comes up
I am not sure what I am doing wrong! Anyone can help me please!?!?
Thanks!!!!!!I don't mean nested SWF is not work in Flash Catalyst(FC). You can still import SWF to FC. But one thing important is. When your nested SWF have related image file outside the SWF file. You also need to copy this image file under the nested SWF directory. (same folder or create a Assets folder or not. It depend on your link inside nested SWF.)
Hope this make this clear.
I also use nested SWF from FP and FC. It work fine for me. -
.flv not working in website
I have a website built in flash. This site has video in the form of .flv. When I open the index.html on my local machine the video plays. The video and all other content is in the root folder. When I upload the site to the server none of the video plays. All other content including pictures are viewable. If I copy all content to another machine the video will not play.
On the loacal machine, the video is linked to the .flv files in the root folder. I tested by removing the .flv files from the root folder. When I do the video will not play on the local machine.
Does anyone have any suggestions what might be wrong?
The site is
www.kensdigitalart.com/newtest@Ned
Not sure about the folder structure of their site, to be honest they've been a nightmare client from day one so getting information like that out of them has been nigh on impossible.
The flv files are all in a folder together and these are linked from the swf with this link structure: http://www.sitename.org.uk/folder/video.flv
I'm not entirely sure how their CMS is structured. I was throwing this question out on the off chance that someone had seen a similar instance where HTML/HTM file types had affected functionality. -
I'm new to flash and created a movie, tested it in Flash, put it in the htm, played it in Dreamweaver, it plays in browser (F12), but when I upload it to our website, there is nothing. I've attached the file. What am I doing wrong? TIA Rush
Link is http://usxpo.com/pipe3.htm
What I did was start with the flash on this page http://usxpo.com/pipe.htm,
and add some more colors and table that has drape colors on it. It works
fine in Flash (CS3) and in Control test movie/scene. In Dreamweaver it works
fine also with test button and also when I F12 it in Maxthon and IE8.
I did not make a new movie since I'm not too familiar with Flash, I just
experimented and added buttons, colors, etc.
Thank for the help

I have a course that’s made up of a series of hyperlinked swfs and html files. There are also some flvs and pdfs in this. We had to design it in this format (vs. pdf or exe) because of our customer’s special requirements. To try to make a long story short, our company now wants to put this course on a CD-ROM to show customers, however, they do not want to have to make the customer do that extra little step of setting the Flash security settings to accept the external site. Anyway, that is the background, and here is my problem.
I have created two new “marketing” versions that contain a snippet of the course – a PDF version and an EXE version. Here are the problems with each:
1. The exe format works great, except there is a button that links to a PDF, and that link, even though the PDF is present in the same directory, does not launch the pdf.
2. The PDF version has two problems. I have a FLV that does not play (despite it being in the directory), and I also have a button (same one as mentioned above) that launches another PDF, and that PDF does not launch.
Any suggestions?Hi Kristi
I have something that may help here. Please send an E-Mail message to rstone75 (at) kc (dot) rr (dot) com and list the exact file names of the files you are linking to.
Once I have the actual file names, I can send you back some files that you can try to use for accomplishing the linking. Additionally, I'll want to know the exact relationship the files have. For example, will they simply be in the same folder as your project? Or will they perhaps be in a subfolder. And if a subfolder, the exact name of the subfolder.
Cheers... Rick

I am somewhat new to Flash and have been teaching myself through tutorials. I am working with Flash CS6 and have created a movie and exported it as an SWF onto my website. In the testing area in the program it works and the buttons link to the web pages but when clicked on the website they don't go anywhere but still make the sounds and do the appropriate button up and down actions. Something shows up on the tab that is unfamiliar to me when the button is clicked: #.Uii5-4zD-Cg, I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not. Also, here is the code for each button:
on(release){
getURL(http://www.momandpopsmedicshop.com/ems_trousers.html);
The website that the flash is on: www.momandpopsmedicshop.com
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!try:
on(release){
getURL("http://www.momandpopsmedicshop.com/ems_trousers.html"); -
Even since I have been using mountain lion my Dreamweaver CS6 is not working.
I have downloaded it again from Creative Cloud & also de-installed but it is just not booting at all from the icon in either the dock or applications. Please help?
I just tried it on Mountain Lion and it does work. So there is something special about your system. It could be a font, it could be a preference file issue. Try opening Dreamweaver from a different user. Does it open?

Dreamweaver Form redirect not working
Well, I feel really stupid having to be here seeing as how I
took a degree in web design, but I obviously never paid attention
in the class where we learned forms oh so many years ago.
I am working in Dreamweaver 8, and I have created a simple
form:
http://www.realmofmystery.com/app.html
This is a free website I am doing for some friends, so
nothing fancy. And, I learned web design before all the CGI and PHP
stuff got big, so I prefer to do things simply.
The form works fine, emails the results like perfect, but it
refuses to redirect the page to the confirmation. I thought I could
add an onClick to the submit button, but this cancels out the form
processing.
Any ideas? I don't know enough about JavaScript to write my
own script, but I am assuming the onClick would work if there was
also a time delay written into the script that gave the form enough
time to submit before redirecting to the confirmation page.
Also - (I know, eight million questions) when I submit the
form, it uses my Outlook to send it, but what about for people who
only use server based emails like gmail and hotmail and such? How
does it send for them?
Let me know if you need any other information.
Again, thanks in advance!Select the form, then in properties inspector set the action
of the form and
then browse to the confirmation page.
