Dreamweaver MX 2004 won't import Jpg

Im having a weird issue bringing jpeg files into dreamweaver
mx 2004...it won't let me do it.
Anyone seen this problem and how to fix it?
thanks in advance

What do you mean by "bringing" them into Dreamweaver? Are you
trying to load
this with the tag, like so:

If so, what errors are you getting? You need to be more
specific on your
problem to get an answer.

• IPhoto won't import JPG from backup

I'm getting this warning when I try to drag pics from a Time Capsule backup into iPhoto. I was able to import 6500 pics after a crash (thank god), but for some reason From Jan 1, 2011 I can't do it. They are in .JPG format.

Drag them from the Master folder on the TM drive to a folder on the Desktop. Then see if they will import into iPhoto. Since they are coming from a Masters folder iPhoto may be thinking they are already in the library and won't import.

• Dreamweaver MX 2004 won't launch. Please help!

My old laptop running Dreamweaver MX 2004 is dying, so I installed it on my new Windows XP laptop. I have installed it several times before and never had a problem. On the new laptop, when I launch Dreamweaver, it does not start. In Task Manager, I see a Dreamweaver process start, then two ~e5d141.tmp processes start, then they all disappear. One Macromedia Licensing.exe process remains for a few seconds or a minute, then it disappears too. Technical support said my license and registration are all okay. I installed the 7.0.1 upgrade but that had no effect. There is nothing the event logs. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling in safe mode, launching it in safe mode, disabling the graphic accelerator, and lowering my screen resolution to 1280x1024. I also tried several "Compatibility mode" settings. I cannot find any log or dump files, although I might not be looking in the right places or for the right file names. Can anybody please help me?
Thank you.

Good morning ArtieTet,
I had the exact same problem and came across your post. I've since solved it on my computer. I'm not sure what your level of computer expertise is and whether or not you're comfortable editing your registry, so I've dumbed-down the following instructions a bit - forgive me if they're too dumbed-down!
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type regedit
4. Click the OK button
5. Double click the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key (folder) on the left
6. Double click the SOFTWARE key
7. Double click the MACROMEDIA key
8. Right click the DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 key
9. Click Rename
10. Type a new name for the key, such as OLD DREAMWEAVER MX 2004
11. Press Enter
12. Try to start Dreamweaver again
If all goes well, Dreamweaver should open and re-create that DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 registry key from scratch. There's likely some corrupt data in it, though I haven't been able to figure out what. If I do, I'll let you know.

• Premiere won't import JPG

I have the latest version of Premiere CC and I am not able to import JPG, TIFF, or PDF.

PDF is not supported. As for the jpeg and tiff make sure they are RGB.

• FCP won't import jpg or gifs

I wrote an AppleScript to download images from a website (weather.com, accuweather.com) and I tried to import them into FCP, but I get the "File Error: Unknown File." If I download a jpg or gif manually from a website it works fine. I'm thinking maybe its a problem with the way I'm downloading the images, but I'm not sure.

All the images specs look the same. The "Save As..." trick fixes the problem, but it takes too long and defeats part of the purpose of the AppleScript. I'm doing this for a weather report twice a week so the maps have to be downloaded and ready in 10 minutes for them to be current. And I have 18 images to do that to. The PS trick also won't work for the gif images because they're animated. Would the file creator type have anything to do with this?
Thanks again for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

• IPhoto '09 won't import JPG files from my phone.

Here's the step-by-step
I have a new Samsung Evergreen phone that evidently stores photos in .JPG format, not sure yet if I can tell it to save them as .JPEG.
On my MacBook, I have over 10,000 photos in my iPhoto library imported from several different cameras and copied from previous computers.
I attach the phone to the Mac with a microUSB-->USB cable. (( BTW - MacBookPro is Intel Core 2 Duo ca August '09 ))
Phone wants to know about USB mode.... I select "Media Player"
iPhoto'09 (V 8.1.2 (424)) comes alive recognizes the device, finds the pictures, and offers to Import them. Cool!... I select "Import All".
iPhoto goes through the motions of importing all 22 files then displays a message "The following file could not be imported. (The file is in an unrecognized format.) this is followed by a list of all 22 files.
I know that most, if not all, images in my iPhoto database are JPEG suffixed. But from all I've read, JPG and JPEG are identical/interchangeable
I've been a devout Mac user for over 2 years now and haven't ever encountered a problem with anything that needed to be resolved on this discussion board or even by calling Apple Support. All I can conclude about this is that I'm doing something really, grossly, stupid. But I sure don't know how to proceed. Should I go to an Apple Retail store and have them figure it out?
Appreciate any thoughts you folks may have on this.

2 Possibilities:
The phone is taking non-standard jpegs in some way of other
Or
The phone is broken and the jpegs are corrupted in some way
Why do I blame the phone? Because neither the Mac nor the PC can access the files.
So, back to Samsung for help on that one.
No, no one from Apple reads or responds on here. As the Terms of Use make quite clear, this is a space for Users to seek help from other Users only. It's not a substitute for AppleCare. There are something in the region of 100,000,000 iPhones out there. It's inevitable that some devices will have issues, and some users. So, taken in that scale, the fact that - what - a couple of hundred people have issues mightn't seem so appalling.

• IPhoto Won't Import JPGs from Photoshop CS2

Hello,
I find that if I save a JPG from PS CS2, it will open in Preview, and other applications, but will not import to iPhoto. I have read the other posts here on this topic, but they have not addressed my experience.
For me, it does not matter whether ".jpg" is added or not. If I open the file in Preview, and simply re-save it, with no other changes, it will import to iPhoto as usual.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Michael Morrison

Hello,
Thanks for your thoughts.
I do have color management turned on, and the profile is Adobe 1998, rather than sRGB. When I re-save the file in Preview, I am also saving it with Adobe 1998, so it does not appear to be the presence/absence of a profile, nor the type of profile (sRGB or Adobe 1998).
Further, the article you suggested indicates that this is a problem related only to Power PCs, and I have this trouble on botht Power PCs and Intel machines.
Further thoughts?
Thanks again,
Michael Morrison

• IPhoto 8 won't import jpg's - unrecognized format

I am not able to import some jpg's into my MacBook. These are on a Xd card from my camera. I've been able to import photos from there as recently as yesterday without any problem at all. They are vacation photos so they are very important.
I'm using iPhoto 8.1.2 on OS 10.6.3. When I try to download my 180 photos or so, THREE of them import successfully, but the others are rejected. A pop-up window tells me that they can not be imported because they are a unrecognized format.
When I try to open those files in Preview, I also fail to open the jpg's. My Finder window detects them as a jpg, but I haven't found anything yet that will open them.
Any help would be appreciated!

Here are my comments about your other worthwhile comments:
"Consider using these best practice tips to avoid or minimize the impact of issues in the future:
_Ensure your camera has a full charge on the battery before you import (Or run off of AC if possible). {YES. I keep a full charge on the batteries at the start of every photo day and I did on this one too.}
_Ensure the date and time on the camera are correct before importing. {YES. It has been correct and remains so.}
_If you are using a media card reader and are getting regular failures, try using a different reader or the camera itself (The same is true about importing directly from the camera. Try a reader instead.) {I do use a card reader. It has always worked like a charm. Using a Digital Concepts model.}
_Plug the camera directly into the computer with a solid connection, no loose cables. Don't use a hub. {I will do that next.}
_Reformat the camera's media card using the camera itself between uses. {I normally do that but didn't this time. The manufacturer also recommends reformatting after EVERY use.}
_Alternate between multiple media cards during photo shoots (trips, etc) so that if one card goes bad (they are just little bits of plastic after all) you don't lose the entire shoot." {I'm likely to do that more often now. I keep three cards just in case.}
One more thought. My camera (an Olympus SP-560UZ) actually has problems every now and then using Alkaline batteries (even the best ones). It encounters a "zoom error" when turning on. The fix is to use PREMIUM rechargeable batteries. I had a hard time believing that one. But I tried the better batteries and it does make a difference for the better. They usually last me for six hours or more of keeping the camera powered; an important aspect when I'm hiking in the mountains and need to be prepared for anything.

• Dreamweaver MX 2004 won't open?

I sent my emac in to have it worked on, and when I got it
back, my Dreamweaver wouldn't work (they assure me they didn't
touch Dreamweaver- hardware only). In the bottom bar, when I'd
double click on it, it'd just bounce a couple times, but wouldn't
open. I've tried opening it from my HD also. I can't open any
Dreamweaver files. I tried uninstalling it, and reinstalling it
several times, but no luck. Not sure what happened, but I've got to
be able to use my Dreamweaver! Any ideas? I'm lost!

• Importing graphics in Dreamweaver MX 2004

On some computers I am finding Dreamweaver MX 2004 imports
images as imagesfilename into the root folder - and not as the
original filename into the default images folder. Is there a
setting that I should be aware of?

I am teacing in Further and Higher Education so sometimes get
classes of 20 plus students. We have been usoing DW MX 2004 for 4
years (CS3 in September!). I have never seen this happen before bur
my colleague says that he has occasionally. Students work from a
network drive in most cases. They would normally create their
sites's root folder on their network area, create an images folder
in this, copy any images required in the site into the images
folder, define a DW site pointing to the 'root folder' and set up
the images folder as the default images folder.
When they need to add further images during developement,
they would either copy those images into the images folder (using
their file mangement program) or use Insert (menu bar)/Images etc.
and navigate to the image(s) they require (outside the site
folder). For two students last Tuesday when they did the latter the
files were 'renamed' and put in the site's 'root' or top folder.
(The files being brought into the site were originally sited in the
same general area as the site's root folder). I have tried to
reproduce this (unsuccessfuly) on a couple of other computers -
albeit briefly - and also looked at the settings on the student's
computers. I have not yet checked whether this action moves round
with the student's network profile.
I don't normally get students to bring image files into their
sites in this way during developemnt - but it should work -
shouldn't it? That is the point of having a default images folder.
We are using Windows XP OS and Novell Network Client.
I really can't work this one out - so would appreciate any
comments. Thanks.

• Since mountain lion my MBP won't import RAW or jpg files

my MBP won't import RAW or jpg files. Worked fine before. Could it be Mountain Lion?

By way of a double check I just imported photos, both jpg and RAW, without any problems into Aperture 3.3.2 on Mountain Lion without any problems what so ever.

• I have 1000 photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read. Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al. What gives?

I have 1000 photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read. Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al. Any thoughts?

It’s part of the basic install of OS X. So unless you deleted it then it’s there in your apps folder. If you have deleted it, it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. You will be able to extract the installation package using Pacifist.
Alternatively, if you’re using almost any camera +apart from a Canon+ then the camera card is visible on the desktop and you can drag the movie to the desktop using the Finder and import from there.
No matter what camera you use, if you pop the card from it into a USB Card Reader then it will be accessible via the Finder. Card Readers are inexpensive and all round a better idea.
Why use a Card Reader?
Because it’s safer: Less risk of your images being lost if your camera shuts down during transfer.
Because it saves the battery on your camera
Because it saves wear and tear on your camera ports
Because it’s almost always faster.

• Iphoto doesn't recognize jpg's and won't import pictures

Recently updated from iPhoto 09 to 11 and iPhoto won't import pictures from Kodak camera. Says it doesn't recognize file type "jpg". Imported pic last week from same camera just fine. Also upgraded to OSX 10.6.8– this is when the problem started. I don't want a work around solution, as I know there is a fix for this. Just can't find it.

There isn't a fix. Workaround: use a USB Card Reader.

• Raw files won't import when shot in raw+jpg

I just shot in raw+jpg for the first time. Lightroom 4 won't import the raw file but will import the jpg. It says something like "lightroom doesn't support this raw file format". I don't get it though because if I shoot in just raw it will import fine.

If your camera is supported by current version of Lightroom, then the raw file(s) should import.
So, is Canon EOS Rebel XS 1000D supported by Lr4.3? If so, it should go (assuming you've got 4.3 installed), if no go, a bug report should be submitted, promptly, at:
http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/new
If not, consider a feature request ('Idea', for camera support) using same link.
