Dreamweaver MX 2004 won't open?

I sent my emac in to have it worked on, and when I got it
back, my Dreamweaver wouldn't work (they assure me they didn't
touch Dreamweaver- hardware only). In the bottom bar, when I'd
double click on it, it'd just bounce a couple times, but wouldn't
open. I've tried opening it from my HD also. I can't open any
Dreamweaver files. I tried uninstalling it, and reinstalling it
several times, but no luck. Not sure what happened, but I've got to
be able to use my Dreamweaver! Any ideas? I'm lost!

  • Find and replace Dreamweaver mx 2004 problem: not opening saved queries

Dreamweaver mx 2004 is not opening saved queries! I use find and replace often and uses to save code replacements to reuse
it. But now when I open the saved query I have 2 situations:
    1) comes completely blank
    2) or only shows truncated text or code in fields.
I opened the dwr file in text editor and seems to be fine, I mean information saved is there.
Tried recreating cache, or deleting caché, tried saving new or overwritting existant ones, tried saving into a completely different location,
tried in other site definition. Nothing seems to work...

Which FTP app did your predecessor use to upload files?  If it's still on your work station, it should contain the log-in credentials.
You'll find a few utilities online for revealing passwords

  • Dreamweaver MX 2004 won't launch.  Please help!

My old laptop running Dreamweaver MX 2004 is dying, so I installed it on my new Windows XP laptop.  I have installed it several times before and never had a problem.  On the new laptop, when I launch Dreamweaver, it does not start.  In Task Manager, I see a Dreamweaver process start, then two ~e5d141.tmp processes start, then they all disappear.  One Macromedia Licensing.exe process remains for a few seconds or a minute, then it disappears too.  Technical support said my license and registration are all okay.  I installed the 7.0.1 upgrade but that had no effect.  There is nothing the event logs.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling in safe mode, launching it in safe mode, disabling the graphic accelerator, and lowering my screen resolution to 1280x1024.  I also tried several "Compatibility mode" settings.  I cannot find any log or dump files, although I might not be looking in the right places or for the right file names.  Can anybody please help me?
    Thank you.

    Good morning ArtieTet,
I had the exact same problem and came across your post. I've since solved it on my computer. I'm not sure what your level of computer expertise is and whether or not you're comfortable editing your registry, so I've dumbed-down the following instructions a bit - forgive me if they're too dumbed-down!
    1. Click Start
    2. Click Run
    3. Type regedit
    4. Click the OK button
    5. Double click the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key (folder) on the left
    6. Double click the SOFTWARE key
    7. Double click the MACROMEDIA key
    8. Right click the DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 key
    9. Click Rename
    10. Type a new name for the key, such as OLD DREAMWEAVER MX 2004
    11. Press Enter
    12. Try to start Dreamweaver again
If all goes well, Dreamweaver should open and re-create that DREAMWEAVER MX 2004 registry key from scratch. There's likely some corrupt data in it, though I haven't been able to figure out what. If I do, I'll let you know.

  • Dreamweaver MX 2004 won't import Jpg

Im having a weird issue bringing jpeg files into dreamweaver
mx 2004...it won't let me do it.
Anyone seen this problem and how to fix it?
    thanks in advance

What do you mean by "bringing" them into Dreamweaver? Are you
    trying to load
this with the <img> tag, like so:
    <img src="file.jpg" width="X" height="X" alt="File 1"
    title="">
If so, what errors are you getting? You need to be more
    specific on your
    problem to get an answer.

  • Microsoft Word 2004 won't open in Leopard

I downloaded Leopard and everything went well and I used Microsoft Word a few times, then suddenly it won't open anymore.
I'm not sure if I downloaded something that's incompatible with it? Or something else happened? It won't let me update it and when I try to open it the words "The application Word quit unexpectedly" appear almost immediately. I checked my permissions, I checked the hard drive, but couldn't find the root of the problem.
    Someone please help!

How did you "download" Leopard since it is not available that way? You have to buy Leopard unless it came installed on your hardware when you purchased it.
After you did the Leopard update did you update Office to the latest version? If not use the Auto update feature built in to it and download and install all the updates. It does them one at a time so you may have to do 5-6 downloads to get them all.
If that does not work then I would uninstall Office using the uninstaller that is on the CD and reinstall it then bring it up to date.

  • Website constructed with Dreamweaver CS5.5 won't open properly in a web browser

I’m trying to host thi site again. The site (www.nancyshalenphotography.com) does not display as programmed.
This site exists in two forms:
    The Design form
    The Live View/Browser form.
The site is how I envisioned it when opened  in Live & Browser view.
So I Push (Site è Push it to the webhost).
It opens in the Design form (ugly and links don’t work) and not the Live View/Browser form.I tried editing the code by pasting in the Live View code. Didn’t work.
I called support and they said all of my files refer to my computer and no hosting company could get to those files. It doesn’t entirely make sense to me as something (albeit the wrong thing) opened, viz. the Design form. This is the first time they have seen such a circumstance.
This is the code they are referring to:

    1. Open the online page in Firefox
    2. Right click on the page and choose View Page Source
    3. The resultnat code is what the browser sees as per
    4. (left) click the link pointed to and you will see
This means that the file cannot be found by the browser.
This is caused when the link is not correct (path issue) or that the file has not been uploaded (into the correct directory/folder)
You can repeat the same procedure for each of the other links with the same result.

  • Dreamweaver CS5.5 won't open

    Hello alltogether.
I've installed Design Premium CS5.5 Student for Mac fresh from Disc.
And directly after the Setup, all apps would run perfectly fine.
    But Dreamweaver is the exception.
Everytime I want to start Dreamweaver, an error occurs.
This Error tells me, that i can't run Power PC Applications on Mountain Lion.
Today I tried to run the new Update.
I hoped that this Update would correct this.
But the Adobe Updater shows the error U44M1P7 for Dreamweaver.
I tried to install it manually with a download, but this throws the same error.
Is there a Solution for this?
I hope there is someone that can help me.
    Greetings,
    Fabian Grunau

Narwahls did you receive any error messages during the install process?  You can check your installation logs by following the steps listed at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6  - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.  There is information in this document for how to locate and interpret the log files.

  • MX 2004 won't open on Mac Mini OS 10.5.7, HELP!

I recently moved over from my G4 laptop (just plumb worn out) to a MacMini. I've done a clean install, the subsequent fix/upgrade, and then the later fix/upgrade, and to no avail. All it will do when I click on the icon is bounce on the menu bar, look like it's open (little highlight under the icon), but nothing more. I have to force quit. HELP! I'm getting more and more behind!

Thanks for the suggestions... tried changing resolution and that had no effect, and I've checked my Perian and DivX installations in System Preferences and both say they are completely up to date. I upgraded Quicktime today to 7.5 before all of this became a problem -- but I don't know how to upgrade iLife. In Software Update everything is completely up to date (eg each of the iLife apps).
Oh well, iMovie is not very useful to me anyway -- just somehow annoying that it fails to work. No point flogging a dead horse!!
Any other ideas gratefully received... many thanks in advance

  • Dreamweaver CC 2014 won't open on mac

The icon just bounces a couple times then disappears. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling - same issue occurs. All the other creative cloud apps I have are working fine.

If you are still facing this problem, send me your Adobe ID, location, and contact details (email, phone number) over a private message. Click my picture and use the message option.

  • Jpegs won't open in Dreamweaver cs4 or Dreamweaver 8

I was using dreamweaver 8 just fine and then all of a sudden my newly created jpegs won't transfer to dreamweaver.  They won't open no matter what program I create the jpeg in.  The old ones that are saved on my desktop or image folders will still open in Dreamweaver.  I tried downloading cs4 and I have the same problem, except it makes the image file name a link when I try to drop it in on the page.  Also, when I go to insert image, the preview box shows nothing.  I'm on windows vista.
Any help would be great, I called support and it got me no where.

On Vista, Right Click on your desktop's DW shortcut icon and select Run as Administrator.  You should only need to do this once.
Also, make sure your JPEGS are saved for the web as RGB -- not CMYK.

  • Installed Dreamweaver MX 2004 update for Windows and now Dreamweaver won't open. Help?

I was having some glitches uploading to a host I ftp to often so I decided to check for a Dreamweaver update for MX 2004.  When I found the Windows update and tried to install - it told me to uninstall Extensions. I uninstalled extensions and continued with the installation of the update.  Now Dreamwever will not open at all - it says Dreamweaver MX 2004 has stopped working.  I can see the update is installed since the version is 7.0.1.  Any ideas on how to undo the update? I have no idea where this program disk is right now for reinstallation plus all my servers are already setup....

You might try Windows System Restore to a point before you installed the update.
    Good luck.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 won't open any files from a project

    Hi,
I'm working on a simple website. I work on it from 2 different locations (home and work), and the files are stored on a removable USB disk. The problem is that for some reason Dreamweaver won't open any files made on the other computer. It shows the sitemap, eveything. But when I click on a file, nothing happens.
I've tried a couple of things:
    1. recreate the site in the site manager - still the same problem
    2. remove the preference folder - still the same problem
The only solution is that I have to copy the files to my desktop, recreate the website in the sitemanager and then it works. But only if I copy the files to my desktop, any other location on my HD (not the removable USB disk) simply doesn't work.
Does anybody know why this happens? Or even better, does anybody have a tip of how to workaround this problem?
    thanks!

The D600 was first supported in Camera Raw 7.3 which is only compatible with CS6 and later - not CS5 unfortunately.

    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
    Some options:
    FREE
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all D600 Raw files to DNGs then open the DNGs in CS5
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html
    PAID
    Upgrade to CS6
    Buy Lightroom 5.4
    Buy Photoshop Elements 12
Join the Cloud and get CC (subscription only)
Join the Photoshop Photography Program and get Photoshop CC + Lightroom (subscription only)

Hi, pmajor. Welcome to the Adobe user-to-user forums!
I noticed that your error report indicates that you are using build 4909 of Dreamweaver CS5, which is the release version. There have been some updates since, so I would suggest that you install the latest, 11.0.4 (build 4993), and then see if the problem persists.
You can get the latest update by going to Help > Updates in Dreamweaver, or by downloading it from the following page and then installing it: http://adobe.ly/DWUpdates
    HTH!
