Dreamweaver MX some versions of Safari displaying menu bar incorrectly

I am updating my website, built with Dreamweaver MX, running on a Power Mac G5
Using Dreamweaver MX on a power mac (non intel) running 10.4.11, when I test the pages in safari and explorer (older versions for that particular OS) everyhing works fine. When I run the actual browsers for real, everything runs fine. However, when I run OS 10.5.8 on the same mac, Safari ver 5.0.6, the menu bar on certain pages displays incorrectly. It used to be centered, but I moved it to align left. On the old versions, it works fine, on my Iphone's Safari browser, it works fine, but on the Safari 5.0.6, it is in the center still.
I can't figure out why this is so. I've reset safari multiple times, trashed the safari plist preference file to no avail.
Any ideas?

I don't recommend using absolute positioning (aka Layers) for your menu. Just move your menu table to the top of your content and remove that inline styled Layer div.

Some minor troubles with Spry Menu Bar

Hello all,
I'm currently in the process of building a simple navigation
menu for a website and have run into a bit of a snag. The image I
wish to have as my rollover background image seems to work in
non-sub menu list items, but they don't for those list items that
have sub menus. Interestingly enough, if I change it to a color, it
works fine.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

Please update to this last Spry version. You can download the

The problem with the transparent background is an IE6 problem
which doesn't support transparent backgrounds. This problem is
fixed on IE7 and I check it and it works there.
Please let us know if you still have problems with MenuBar
after updating it to the new version

Safari top menu bar

Somehow some web links have got into my Safari top menu bar between Apple and iCloud. How do I erase them?

Try
View > Customize Toolbar
from Safari's main menu bar and drag anything from the Toobar that you do not want there.

If you are talking about the Bookmarks menu bar, you can ctrl-click any item and remove it by selecting "Delete" from the pop-up menu.

How to display menu bar in safari

New to IOS. Just bought an iPad.
Trying to import bookmarks, but need to have a menu in Safari to do it (according to some instructions I'm using)
Don't see a switch in Settings.

Safari on the iPad does not have a Menu bar. What you see is what it has.
Depending on where you are coming from though you may still have a couple different options.
If you are coming from a Mac, you could ostensibly copy your bookmarks to the Safari browser on the Mac and have the bookmarks then sync through iCloud.
If you are on a Windows computer your best bet is to import your bookmarks to Internet Explorer and use the iCloud Control Panel to sync them over to the iPad.

You could also download one of the 3rd party Firefox sync Apps onto the iPad. They will sync with your Firefox browser and bring the bookmarks onto the iPad. You can then use them to open your Bookmarks on any browser on your iPad including Safari. The downside is the Bookmarks won't be inside Safari, but instead will reside in the sync App and you can open Safari from there.

Version Cue in Bridge: Menu Bar not showing

I am a new Bridge user. I started to go through a tutorial and learn Version Cue. When I start Version Cue by using the Favorites in Bridge, (I have the layout set to default) and there is a large CONTENT panel in the center, it shows the Icons on the dark background, eg: Browse Servers, Recent Projects, [my version cue server]
What the tutorial is showing and my page does not, is a light gray/white menu bar above with some smaller icons, eg. one for Inspector, one for New Project...
How do I get that to show? I can work around some of this, but I have not been able to find how to show multiple versions in the Content window without it.

You need to specify which exact version of Bridge and the OS you are running.
Aside from that, you should know that disabling Version Cue is often recommended as a remedy for a variety of Bridge ailments.
I don't have the suite and I have Version Cue permanently disabled.

Displaying menu bar using ADF - JSF

scenario:
there's a tabbed menu.each tabbed menu has its own menu bar
objective:
the menu bar displays the links according to the tab selected.
how can i do it? is there any way dat i can play around with ADF binding feature? like is it possible to set the render of bar items such that it displays the bar links intelligently [depending on the tab selected]
or last but not least.. shud i use javascript!
any reference to such example available online will be appreciated.

Permamently display menu bar in Mac OS/Disable tabs

iMac i5, Mac OS 10.7.5, Thunderbird 24.x
The Menu Bar in T-bird 24.x is automatically hidden even though the T-bird Help says that it CAN'T be done. I prefer to have the Menu Bar PERMANENTLY visible, but I can't find a setting in Preferences to do this. Where is the setting that will make the Menu Bar permanently visible.
I DESPISE tabs in Thunderbird; where is the setting to DISABLE tabs? Again I can't find it in the Preferences.

Use what you like romad, but personally I have come to like the Australis theme in Thunderbird and I downloaded Firefox alpha when I heard that after a year or fussing and fiddling they have finally moved forward.
Seriously I have no idea what your talking about though. You carrying on like Thunderbird suddenly changed. Australis has been there since Version 17 tabs since Version 3
As far as your minority operating system is concerned. I have never used it and have no desire to try and decipher what apple did to a perfectly good copy of BSD. If the product changes so radically on point releases that information a couple of years old is worthless, I am sorry. I am used to point releases being minor changes and whole numbers containing the big stuff. However as Thunderbird does not have a feature of the kind you describe, but apple users have been complaining of similar for years in a number of different applications I suggest you ask apple how to fix OSX so it does not do it.

Some features not accessible when menu bar is turned off

Have you noticed how some features aren't accessible if you turn off the menu bar. e.g., History > Reload all windows from previous session. There's a "History" item in the "mini menu" but it just opens the history window. This seems like poor design.

I just found out even with the menu hidden I can still access it by hitting Alt+<menu letter>, e.g., Alt+i for history. Or just hit Alt to show the menu.
On the Mac, I guess that would be the wiggly key or whatever you call it.

I have some forms stuck under the menu bar on Mac Mountain Lion

I have a stock market program and two of their forms have become stuck under the menu bar. Closing the program doesnn't help because when it's restarted it returns to the exact same spot and I can't reach the close buttons. I've tried changing the screen res put that doesn't help. Any ideas?

Need some help. The top menu bar disappears when in an app...?????

I recently came across a problem that when I go into an application, for example MAIL, the above menu bar disappears. I am not able to access anything that would be in the above MAIL menu bar. I am still able to write/send/check mail but if I wanted to edit or change something the bar is not there. When I minimize MAIL or any other application I'm in and click on the desktop then the finder menu bar appears again. I'm not sure how to fix this...Thanks for any help someone can offer.

Try restarting the Mac and see if that helps.

Ios7 Safari displays web page incorrectly

ios7 devices (iPad and iPhone) do not display LSE portfolio web page correctly. Graphics and text boxes at top of page are displayed as text, presumably not recognized as html code of some sort.
LSE say they have checked it out and there is nothing wrong with their code. Apple Genius at Apple store says there is nothing wrong with ios7 and/or Safari.
Someone is wrong or there is a setting somewhere in ios7 that I don't know about.
Any ideas?

Localization strings not showing up in some components: buttons, form headings, menu bars, etc

I've set up an application that works fine and I just localized it: english and chinese.
I've set up the compiling preferences, created the properties files and loaded them into my components with fx:Metatag. Then I assigned the following to all labels and texts in MXML : {resourceManager.getString("MyBundle", "myResource")}.
When I do a trace of the localized values, they all display in the console. So there is no problem with the loading or compiling.
My problem is that the strings are not displayed on some components: buttons, form headings, and some others. However, it shows up correctly on form items, and some others.
It seems that's a general problem with buttons. Their labels are all empty... (in english and in chinese)
Is that a bug ?

Looking for a way to hide/collapse the display of menu bar items

I've searched the web but I cannot find any utilities that would allow me to hide the items on my menu bar, which is getting a bit cluttered. Particularly when some programs are running, if those programs have a certain number of drop down menus, the menus on the right hand side overlay some of the left side menu bar icons. It would be nice to be able to collapse & un-collapse the menu bar icons when desired.
Not really a problem on my PowerMac which has a 23" display, but moreso on my 15" MBP.

As an aside; if you need to keep several apps fairly close to hand without cluttering the menu bar or dock, create a folder within your Applications folder, and place aliases of the apps in there, then drag the folder to the dock below the divider (next to the trash). Right click on the folder in the dock to get a pop-up list to choose from. I use the same idea for frequently used files and games too (seperate folders)

Mirroring doesn't display in menu bar even with option checked

I have my late 2011 MacBookPro hooked up to an external monitor to extend my workspace at the office. I can go into Displays in the System Preferences and choose to mirror displays. When I check the option to "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available", no menu bar option shows up. Worked perfectly fine pre-Mavericks.
How can I get the display menu bar options to display on this laptop?

for "Bluetooth.menu" and try double-clicking it.

Internet Explorer Problem with Spry Menu Bar

OK here we go
#1) In IE, the toolbar doesn't appear with the same decreased
opacity as it does in Firefox and Safari. I'm using a png
background image with a transparent background and I've defined the
background color the same as the lower layer's color. Any ideas?
#2) THE BIG ISSUE - IE doesn't display the drop down portions
of the menu properly as they display horizontally. If the cursor
moves into the <li> from another <li> the menu displays
as aforementioned. If the cursor moves into the <li> from
outside the menu bar, the menu bar behaves properly.
This is the first page I've done with a Spry menu bar as it
seems the former navigation bar process has been removed from
Dreamweaver. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
