My version says 6.0.1722.0 - is there any update available for this particular version of MX?

I have a website for my artwork.  I had a PC and. Now an iMAC.  I've used Dreamweaver to update the website.  I used to go to Filezilla on the PC a upload the updated pages which would then show updated on the internet.  What file like FileZilla should I use?

    You can download it here:
    https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1
Click the Source Forge link - make sure you reject offers for any other software during the installation, Source Forge usually will ask you to install other stuff in addition to what you want (Filezilla).
    It works well on Mac.
Dreamweaver also has built-in FTP functionality if you want to check that out.

  • Design view in Dreamweaver CC (update Oct. 2014)

Design view in Dreamweaver CC (update Oct. 2014)  shows renders fonts and elements as huge making it impossible to work in that view. In live view it goes down to normal. And is there a way to switch of the blue tag inspector wrapping around the elements in focus? It's driving me nuts!
What am I doing wrong, or is there a setting I'm unaware of?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the "fix" is going to be the complete removal of Design View and a much more robust implementation of a Live View editor. I don't have anything to back that up, it's just the vibe I get from the direction DW seems to be taking.
If there is a single web design/editor/developer application that even comes close to the features and power of Dreamweaver, I have yet to find it. And I test everyone I come across. Dw truly is the last great web design powerhouse. One of the main features that makes it so powerful, is its rich WYSIWYG editor for producing and managing large sites with tons of content - otherwise known as the inappropriately named Design View.
As design surfaces go, apps like Macaw, Webflow, and Reflow nailed it. They're brilliant when it comes to prototyping designs and building & styling structures. Dreamweaver just can't compete with those types of visual workflows. Live View is barely a design surface at all, and its workflows are preposterous. That may change over time. Live View might be useful someday for prototyping designs and building & styling structures, but I would be very surprised if Live View's design surface ever... ever... ever becomes a useful content production and management surface.
If Adobe allows - or forces - the Dw team to remove Design View, leaving us without a decent WYSIWYG editor, then where does that leave web designers like myself who produce and manage corporate sites with lots of content? - It's a rhetorical question.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 update 12.0.1 released

    Hi everyone,
A patch has been made available to Dw CS6 version. The patch fixes customer reported issues related to FTP and Business Catalyst workflows.
There have been bug fixes made to Find and Replace panel along with Integration with Adobe Proto project files.
Please find the complete details of this update at http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2012/07/dreamweaver-cs6-update-12-0-1.html
    ..Sarthak

Hi Sarthak-- have you guys addressed the excessive CPU usage issue in this patch? I'm not seeing any reference to it in the release notes, which is very surprising. This is an extremely well-documented issue, as seen here and here. I've experienced the issue on Windows and others have seemed to experience much worse sypmptoms on MacOS as described in the aforementioned thread. I've been using DW5.5 while awaiting a fix for this issue.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 update apparently fixes Mac FileVault problem

Adobe has just released Dreamweaver 11.0.2 (build 4916), which is intended to fix the problem with running Dreamweaver CS5 on Mac OS X with FileVault enabled. Adobe Updater should automatically detect the update, and display the Adobe logo in the menu bar at the top right of the screen on a Mac. Click the logo, and select Adobe Updater. Alternatively, select Help > Updates in Dreamweaver.
I don't use FileVault, so can't verify that the update fixes the problem. Hopefully, it does.

I was getting the same error message on both Windows 7 64-bit as well as XP 32-bit.  When CS5 Dreamweaver installs (and several other Adobe CS5 products) it includes an older version of the Java 1.6 Runtime Environment which has known serious security flaws.  My university's computer security people got a report from Secunia PSI that I was running vulnerable software (an older version of Java) and demanded that I immediately upgrade.
But I do have the latest updates of the JRE installed, so I was puzzled by this.  When I looked at the Secunia report, the JRE culprits were installed in the Programs\Adobe folders as part of each application such as Dreamweaver (and several others).  So I removed the insecure JRE folders under those program installations and replaced them with the updated JRE folder from the Java installation (JVM for DW). Granted, this was a bit of a gamble since the registry was not modified, but I had not experienced any problems until I kept getting the installation failure reported here for the CS5 DW update failure with no explanation.
Realizing that Dreamweaver is still a 32-bit app even when running on 64-bit Win 7, and I was running the 64-bit version of Java 1.6 v20, I thought I should have used the 32-bit version of Java to replace the insecure version installed under Dreamweaver.  I tried that, as above, but the DW CS5 update still failed.
Then I tried to reinstall CS5 Dreamweaver only, which succeeded with the older insecure JRE which then immediately got flagged by Secunia PSI.  Furthermore, the Dreamweaver update still failed with no explanation.  I noticed that some of the previous Java files (by their dates) were still left in the DW installation JVM folder, after the re-install.  So next I removed the entire Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS5 folder, and did a clean reinstall of Dreamweaver CS5 only.  It was immediately detected again by Secunia PSI as have an insecure version of JRE.  However, this time when I did the Dreamweaver update, it succeeded (v11.0 build 4916) on my 64-bit Win 7 machine.
So the choice currently appears to get Dreamweaver CS5 updates with an older insecure version of the JRE or
not get Dreamweaver updates but be secure with the latest JRE manually installed.  My university security people will not tolerate the former
I don't understand why Adobe does not put the latest JRE's as part of their standard updates.  Moreover, why put them in the Adobe installations at all--which is causing this security problem of older insecure JRE's--and instead use the main Java installation on the user's machine (and if absent, require users to install Java), if Java is really needed.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 update

I've just installed the latest Dreamweaver CS6 update delivered via Adobe updater, and now can't launch Dreamweaver.
Launch fails with the message 'Dreamweaver.exe - Ordinal Not Found. The Ordinal 230 could not be located in the dynamic link library VIC32.DLL'
    Running on Windows 7.
Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Pat.
It turns out that I don't have a vic32.dll at all in the Dreamweaver CS6 program directory. Presumably one was there before the update as everything worked ok.
Fortunately I still have CS5 set up, and found the vic32.dll in that directory was the 5.65.0.0 version that you have.
I've just copied that across to the CS6 structure and now everything seems to be working fine.
Maybe the updater gets confused if an earlier version still exists?
Anyway thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction.

  • Dreamweaver MX Update Links broken

    In the post http://forums.adobe.com/message/5336083#5336083
Nancy O, posts several links to download links for Dreamweaver MX. The actual download link for the updater (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/resourcecenter/rc_driver.cfm?pageName=dwmx%5Fupdater) is broken. I spent several hours looking for the correct link, and two chats with on-line support. Support's only suggestion, post the question here because they can only "help" with the corrent version.
The question I have been burning to ask; what is the updated link to download Dreamweaver MX? I have an older Mac, I purchased the version I own, and I need to update it after a re-install.
    Thanks.

The MX links are switched off as are the servers used to activate these old products.  Adobe has provided direct download links for CS2 products and associated serial numbers to get round it:
    <https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads>
You will need to login in the usual way but once you are in, you can download any CS2 product and use the serial number provided so that you don't need to activate the product.
    Good luck.

  • Dreamweaver template-update overwrites content

Currently I'm using the Adobe CS4 Web Premium Suite on a Mac. I've been using Dreamweaver for a very long time but just recently I started to build templates for Contribute and it's been working fine, however, I need help resolving an issue.
After designing the template, setting the Editable Regions and saving it as a template in Dreamweaver, I upload it to production and can edit the page with contribute successfully. However, when I update non-editable regions on the template, overwite the files using that template and publish those files to production, it overwrites any content updates the user makes via Contribute.
Am I missing a step? Any suggestions why this is happening?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Yes Bryant I did,
I finally figured out that when using: "Save as Template..." (from the File menu), Dreamweaver  was creating the file with two extensions: .dwt & .cfm...
However, it should only have one extension, and that's: .dwt (DreamWeaverTemplate). This way both Dreamweaver & Contribute treat it as a template file rather than regular Coldfusion.
    This should fix the issue.

  • Dreamweaver template update ftp files without synchronizing

Today I change Template - Update all files based on the template - synchronize entire site.
What I Like to do: change Template - Update all files based on the template
and then in the same window button with ftp upload changed files!
    Why do I want this:
The synchronization can take time on big sites, I have cms and billing system on my site with many files.
The synchronization can take time on slow connection.
When the time betwen two synchronization is to small Dreamweaver select all files (or many) for synchronization. I do not know if this is only my problem (maybe there is different time on my computer and the server?).
Do we have solution for this today?
Or can this be something to suggest for next version?
    Thanks for any suggestion

Not sure if there is anything set up in DW yet, it does give a status window of what files were updated, you could possibly work backwards form that list (still a bit cumbersome). I also believe that if you change the template and upload it to your server, it will prompt you as to whether or not you'd like to "include dependant files", and (in theory) it will also upload the files linked associated with it... but that may need to be tested to see how well it works on a larger site.
As a possible alternative, you could use "Server Side Includes" - which is a single file which contains a portion of your page (the top navigation, footer area, etc.), and any page that uses this element will automatically update when you upload just that one element. Here is a link which explains it better: http://www.smartwebby.com/web_site_design/server_side_includes.asp and there are several others on the web that offer more detailed explainations - one caveat is that the web server you use would need to be set up to accept SSI... most do, but something you'd need to look into beforehand...
    Hope that helps,
    Jesse

  • Dreamweaver CC "Update pages from template" process seems to go on forever

Hello, whenever I edit a template with my new Dreamweaver CC (migrating from CS6), the dialog never reaches the "done" point. It seems to go on forever.
So it looks like the update process doesn't end, but actually it ends (most of the time): if I close the dialog and check the files, they're usually updated. Sometimes they're not, though.
So I was wondering, is this a known bug? Or is there something I can do to try and fix this?
    Thanks.

I haven't heard of this one recently, so it's probably not a bug in the software itself.
I would try clearing the program cache: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
    and/or restoring preferences: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver-cs4-cs5.html
Post back if those don't do the trick.

  • Dreamweaver Auto update deleted my Snippets

I just received an update from Adobe for my Dreamweaver.  Since then my custom snippets folder has disappeared from my snippets collection.  I must have a full years worth of Snippets in there that i use all the time. Infact I'm quite lost without them. Does anybody know where the folder may have been moved to on a MAC?
If these are gone I will be very annoyed with Adobe.  It seems to be one problem after another at the minute with Dreamweaver!!

If you moved from one full version, say DWCS6 to a new version like CC2014, your old Snippets should still be there.
Turn on your OS's hidden files, then go to...
Mac OSX > Macintosh HD > your username > Library > Application Support > Dreamweaver (old version) > your language > Configuration
    Copy the Snippets folder, then...
Mac OSX > Macintosh HD > your username > Library > Application Support > Dreamweaver (new version) > your language > Configuration
    Paste the Snippets folder
If you moved from CC2014 to CC 2014.1 I'm not sure if there will be a way to fix it since 2014.1 was an overwriting upgrade. You may be able to use Time Machine to go back to when the snippets folder existed, make a copy and use that, but I haven't been on Macs for a few years now and can't remember if that's possible.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 - update Links

    Hello
to make the story short,  i have started building my web site with dreamweaver cs6.
i create the first page of my web site then I saved the file alot of time to make my contact, product .....
know i started to link the "home, contact button and everything else"
but its not updating on all of the pages,
isn't it suppose to update on all the web page?
maybe i am doing something wrong .
    any help will be appriciated
    thanks alot

Unless your pages are created from a Template page (.dwt extension), then you will ahve to go into each individual page and manually correct the links to point to the correct resource. A Template page allows you to create a "template" that the rest of the pages of your site will be based off of. Within the template you define areas for page content (the areas where each page will be different). Then you start creating pages based off the template. Whenever you make a change to theTemplate, all the child pages based off that template will get updated (except the areas you defined for page content). When editing pages based off a template, you'll notice grayed-out areas of code - this is code that's locked down by the template and can't be edited within the child pages.
But before using Dreamweaver Template pages, please review the Dreamweaver help files and read about them - we have many people come to these forums who have gotten very lost trying to use templates so please do read and learn about them before using them.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 - update 11.5.1 does not work

The link to the update for CS5 is no longer available and the 11.5.1 update is for CS5.5 only. I need to access the update for HTML5 for CS5. Please let me know what the key is to accessing. Thank you. Let me know what other info you need in order to give me an answer!

    Hi Katharine,
To get the HTML5/CSS3 features you're looking for, install the 11.0.4 update for Dreamweaver CS5.
You can get the update by going to Help > Updates in the program, or from the page Sarthak mentioned above. (This update was temporarily unavailable on the page, so that may explain it if you did not see it before.)

  • Dreamweaver 8 Update 8.0.2

Trying to see if anyone can tell me where to get a trial version of Dreamweaver 8 (I know, it's arcaic) but I called Customer Support and they told me to use the Forums to send an email.  Not sure this will help much, but I am trying to fix Dreamweaver 8 as it won't start up, and this update (8.0.2) includes Update 8.0.1 which fixed the sporatic instances when Dreamweaver 8 would not start up.
    Found this here: http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/dreamweaver/dw8/releasenotes.html#802
The people who's computer this belongs to do not have the CD for Dreamweaver 8, and it says you have to re-install Dreamweaver 8 when you run the update, and this site gives an alternative to users who do not have the CD, but I cannot get a trial version of Dreamweaver 8. I'm about 99% sure that using the trial version for Dreamweaver CS4 or CS5 will NOT work, as it is much different. I just need the .msi installer for Dreamweaver 8.
    Ideas?

I think you're out of luck. Typically when a new product releases, the older product trials vanish from the planet.   Without the installation disk, your friend/client would need to call customer support to see what their options are.
    REMINDER TO EVERYONE:
    1) Keep installation disks in a safe place.
    2) Record your product keys and serial numbers in one place.
    Good luck,
    Nancy O.
