Dreamweaver mx vs dreamweaver cs

A few years ago i used Dreamweaver mx for creating websites.
In the meantime i´ve graduated ad software developer and
now´s the time for a hobby.
So whats the difference between dreamweaver mx and
dreamweaver cs.??
I´ll be using php, asp, jsp, mysql.

The real questions are a) does valid code matter to you, b)
will you be
using CSS, and c) do you work mostly in Design view?
If the answer to any of those is "YES", then you should
upgrade.

CS4 alamazsın. CS6 için yalnızca bir abonelik DreamweaverCC veya kalıcı bir lisans satın alabilirsiniz.

If both versions are on the same hard drive, simply tell DW CC where your site files are located on your hard drive.  Go to Site > New Site and define your site.

  • Unterschied zwischen Dreamweaver cc und Dreamweaver cs6???

    Tagchen zusammen!

    Hallo Jan,
so so ein böser Lehrer! Fishing for compliments, nicht wahr?
    Good luck!

  • Weird boxes in code view from Dreamweaver 8 to Dreamweaver MX

I have Dreamweaver 8 and my coworker has Dreamweaver MX. I
have an XML document save from Dreamweaver 8. When the document is
opened in Dreamweaver MX, there are alot of little boxes thrown in
throughout the code. For example commented code has a box after
each letter and each new line of code has a box at the start.
Here's an example of what I mean. (I will use "O " instead of
a box, because I don't know how to insert a box)
    Dreamweaver 8:
<!-- Hello this is my code-->
    Dreamweaver MX:
    O<O!O-O-OHOeOlOloO OtOhOiOsO OiOsO OmOyO OcOoOdOeO
    O-O-O>
As you can see this make the code virtually unreadable.
Does anyone know a way around this issue?
    Thanks

I figured it out myself. For anyone else that encounters this
problem the solution is to. Open the document in WordPad and then
save it as a "text document". Then reopen it in Dreamweaver MX and
    the little boxes are gone.

  • Dreamweaver Template Without Dreamweaver

    Hi.
I'm doing an internship for the semester and the place i work is having me redesign their intranet.  I'll be gone in December, and while no immediate changes will really need to be made, over time they will probably want to do something such as adding a link in the side menu...
The problem is, I don't think they use Dreamweaver--if they're using another web design program, is it possible for them to edit the dreamweaver template I've created for them?
    Thanks.

Another approach is to use Server-Side Includes (text files) that contain hyperlinks, common headers & footers for example.   Person responsible for updates could edit the SSI files in any html editor.  Upload to server and the server would populate changes throughout the site.

  • Can I edit my older HTML files in a later version of Dreamweaver? (Was: Dreamweaver)

I have an old version of Dreamweaver that runs on old powerpc macs.  Is there a way I can convert those file to the online version?  We use the old version for our school website, so we don't want to lose all that has been set up.  Or is there a pc version that will run those files?

The files that are created by using Dreamweaver are universal files, meaning that you will be able to edit those files in any editor. There are many web developers that use a combination of editors (e.g. Dreamweaver and SublimeText) to create the files.
So, to answer your question, you will be able to edit/create the files no matter which version of DW you use.

  • Jpegs won't open in Dreamweaver cs4 or Dreamweaver 8

I was using dreamweaver 8 just fine and then all of a sudden my newly created jpegs won't transfer to dreamweaver.  They won't open no matter what program I create the jpeg in.  The old ones that are saved on my desktop or image folders will still open in Dreamweaver.  I tried downloading cs4 and I have the same problem, except it makes the image file name a link when I try to drop it in on the page.  Also, when I go to insert image, the preview box shows nothing.  I'm on windows vista.
Any help would be great, I called support and it got me no where.

On Vista, Right Click on your desktop's DW shortcut icon and select Run as Administrator.  You should only need to do this once.
Also, make sure your JPEGS are saved for the web as RGB -- not CMYK.

    Hello,
here is the link to DW CC: http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html > Dreamweaver CC (or others) > use TRY. Or you can download elder (trial)versions from here and convert them (later) into "official" versions with your Adobe Account:
http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html see "Download Adobe CS6 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager)". AND note the : "Very Important Instructions" mentioned there.

  • Upgrade dreamweaver 2 to dreamweaver 8?

Can i buy the DW8 upgrade, or is my version too old to

  • Macromedia Dreamweaver MX (or Dreamweaver 6) Fit to Page

Is there anyway to make Dreamweaver size your page in such a way where it looks good both when the window is fully expanded and condensed?
    Thanks!

Know your target audience.  If you're building pages mainly to be viewed on laptops/desktops, why not use a centered, fixed-width layout?
    CSS 3-column, fixed-width, centered.
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/3-col-fixed-layout.shtml
If you know your site will be viewed on all maner of devices from handhelds to 3-panel wide displays, consider using a liquid (%) layout.

  • Dreamweaver (aka Macromedia Dreamweaver)

I have Macromedia Dreamweaver 6.0 on a PC and my website is hosted on Earthlink. Can I download the website to my MacBook pro and if so what version of Adobe CS5 would I need to purchase in order to work on the website on my Mac?
    Many Thanks,
    John

This is a forum for those transitioning from GoLive to Dreamweaver. You might try visiting the true Dreamweaver forum that has more traffic.
The selection of version is easy. Adobe only sells CS5.
You might try Apple's own iWeb program to manage your web site. It is cheaper than Adobe CS5 and is suited for casual web authors.

  • Styles panel missing in Dreamweaver cs6 (Was: Dreamweaver CS6)

I have just downloaded Dreamweaver & the CSS Styles panels is missing?

The Styles panel has been replaced with the CSS Designer panel. Layout mode has been gone for some years, as has drawing AP divs.
The Styles panel didn't offer good access to the legacy CSS attributes and properties, or to management of selectors or sources. CSS designer does all of these much better.
Layout mode was removed in favor of the separation of content from presentation approach that CSS provides. Drawing AP divs has never been a good solution for page layout because of the many problems encountered when using these positioned elements as containers for text content.
CS6 is quite a different beast than its predecessors. It has been built with a strong committment to both producing valid code and the use of good methods. Its productive use will require you to have a fair understanding of both HTML and CSS.
