Dreamweaver MX with Vista

I recently upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bits and
installed DW MX...ever since, I cannot create Tables using the
icons within dreamweaver...I have to go into the source code and
type in the tags and all!
Much easier and faster to just use the built-in fucntions,
but it doesn't work...is there a compatibility issue with Vista?
I have not tried uninstalling and re-installing....any
ideas?

You can try running DW in compatibility mode for XP, or try
an updater:

Dreamweaver Crash with Vista

I installed Vista a few days ago. Every time I run
Dreamweaver it starts up just fine. Whenever I open a saved file it
stays open for a few seconds then crashes. I either get a "Blue
Screen of Death" that shuts my computer off, or it just shuts the
program down. All other programs are running fine with Vista; it is
just all programs that are in Stuido 8 that seem to be
crashing.

You did check the Adobe site and noted that Vista is not
supported by DW8
didn't you? Maybe not it would seem.
Search the newsgroup, theres a few tricks you can do to have
a 'nicer'
experience, otherwise, either put up with it until DW9 is
released, or
downgrade your OS back to something that is officially
supported.

Bug with dreamweaver mx and vista

I can't draw a table with dream after install windows vista,
it´s only possible with tags; insert table and button table
not run!

To say that it's not compatible with Vista may be
unwarranted. Let's just
say that it predates Vista by about 5 years, and may
experience problems
just the same way you might expect legacy versions of any
similarly 'aged'
program to do so in a current OS. Some people here have
reported that they
can use it, although I cannot point to a specific instance
just now.

Dreamweaver and Windows Vista Problem

Hello,
I ran into a problem with my Dreamweaver - 8 application and
cannot find a fix. I open up the Dreamweaver application, 2-3
seconds later, I get the following error message, “A problem
caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available.” I am
using Windows Vista and believe the problem is associated with the
Vista operating system. I am puzzled by the fact that I have been
using Dreamweaver with Vista and have had no problems up until now.
I uninstalled & reinstalled Dreamweaver to no avail. I
restored my computer to an earlier date, and updated Dreamweaver,
and still have the same problem.
Any help to resolve this problem would be greatly
appreciated.

Hello Again,
I finally fixed the problem. I went into my network settings
and reset my network address. This did the trick, I went back and
opened up Dreamweaver without any problem.

Web Link Not Working in IE7 with Vista

I have a fairly simple website of my photography (www.esdigitalart.com) that uses Lightroom flash galleries linked to a Dreamweaver CS3 home page. I use the Contact Info and Web Link in the Site Info Panel to create a "return to Home Page" link. This link works fine in my previous computer running Windows XP and my wife's computer, but since I bought a new computer with Vista and IE7, the website "works" fine including the flash galleries, but the "Return to Home Page" doesn't work. When I open a gallery and go immediately to the "Return" text there is a white underline, which disappears when I click on the text and nothing happens. When I browse a few pictures and go to the "Return" text (upper right corner) there is no underline and nothing happens with a click. I'm assuming it has something to do with the Vista - IE7 settings. Maybe some security setting, but it's frustration not to be able to check my website on my own computer. Any suggestions? Thanks

It seems to be an issue with Flash Security settings.
Please follow the below steps (these steps are for Firefox and IE):
Publish the project in a folder on c drive.
Open the html file from the published output .
Do the right-click on the screen and go to Global Settings.
Go to Advance Tab.
Scroll down and click on Trusted Location settings.
Click on Add> Add Folder and navigate to your published folder and add it. (You can also add complete C drive so that you do not have to do this again for all the projects)
Click on confirm and then close it.
Now re-open the html file and try to view the attachments.
These setting are only done when you are viewing the content locally. If you place the output on any server then you need not to do these settings.

CS3 Web Premium Suite compatible with Vista 64 bit?

Greeting folks. I realize this is not a Photoshop specific question, but does anyone use CS3 Web Premium Suite on Vista 64? If so, do you have any problems with any of the programs?
I'm contemplating upgrading from Vista 32 to Vista 64.

I just got the Adobe Master Collection CS3 to run on a Dell Workstation (quad core processor, 2GB RAM) with Vista 64 Business. Photoshop is deathly slow, to the point of being unusable. It takes up to 2 minutes just to load the programme. Clicking menu items or drop-down buttons produces no response for about 5 secs. I created a blank layer and tried to draw a simply brush stroke across it - again, a 5 sec delay before the stroke appeared. This makes it impossible to do any useful work. Other parts of the package are better (e.g. Dreamweaver, Illustrator) but Bridge is slow and I have a subjective impression that some of my none Adobe programme are now running more slowly. I did look at CPU and memory utilization - never got about 60% and was mostly around 10%.
When I run the Photoshop CS3 trial on an AMD duo core computer with only 1GB RAM (which is running XP Pro), I get a much snappier response. Makes me suspect a Vista issue.
Since others appear to be having much better success, I would be very interested in any tips, etc. which I might try.

I have been using dreamweaver a long time and cannot live
with out it daily, our company just got all new computers with
windows vista business installed. most things work in dreamweaver,
but when you browse to folder to make a link or in site definitions
in stops and closes instantly no warning, I have seen others that
have this same problem, I'm just wondering if anyone has found any
solutions, or if adobe has noted this issue and hopefully is
working on a fix.. I love dreamweaver and cannot live without it,
but am forced to work on vista, can anyone give me some hope? I am
using the 8.02 updater on windows business, also if anyone knows
that if it works without the updater then I will reinstall without
it. I am also running it in xp compatability mode. I know adobe is
busy, I'm just looking for some hope, if I cannot find the
answer

Dreamweaver 8 on vista

Recently updated to Windows Vista at work, we use have always
used studio 8 stuff and adobe
Ever since I upgraded to vista my dreamweaver 8 likes to
crash alot especially when i try opening a file and it really hates
it when i try opening a file from a mounted drive.. just closes
without saying anything... Is there anyone else who has had this
problem or know how to fix it? I have looked for 2 weeks online and
have not found anything to help..

I don't post much but I check out the forums quite a bit if I
have trouble with something. It always amazes me how a lot of
things turn into a big FUD-fest - especially involving Microsoft.
Vista is fine, there are a million apps out there... not everything
is going to work. Dreamweaver seems to use a lot of XML and such
for it's own conifguration - Vista does this now for basic
operating procedures (people will notice that Dreamweaver will
disable Vista help because it changes what program manages
text/xml. All this stuff will be worked out I am sure. BTW to fix
the Help feature search for Kristan M. Kenney + Vista Help - there
is a reg file that sets it back.
On to the original question:
Yah, having a similiar issue. DW8 seems to lock and close
when using dialog boxes to link to a file, open a file, etc. Mine
is running in compatability mode as well, but that doesn't seem to
help. Hopefully Adobe will come out with a fix soon (yes, its
Adobe's problem, Microsoft sets a standard for the OS that
applcations use to interact - that is the baseline and software
will have to be adjusted - I really doubt everything will be
changed on the OS so one Adobe app will work).
The number of Vista users will increase in Feb drastically,
that will probably spark increased demand for this particular fix
(100 to 1 that Adobe has somehting in the can and is waiting on
it).

Ipod not recognized by itunes with vista!!

I (amid all of my other troubles with vista) have updated to itunes 7.2 but am not able to get itunes to recognize my 30 GB video ipod. I perused the other discussions and noticed others have had the same problem but never came across an answer.

I just got Vista too and it does recognize my ipod, but itunes can't find a lot of my songs on the computer. I tried to uninstall itunes and reinstall it thinking that it would seach for new music when I installed it again but nothing new happened when I did that.

-The audio plays fine and reports as a PCM stream when I play it normally, but I can't get dolby digital or DTS to enable for some reason eventhough I bought the DDL & DTS Connect Pack for $4.72

I also have a question on 5. and Vista 64
-When I game I normally use headphones in game mode or 2. with my headphones, the reason for this is if I set it on 5. I get sounds coming out of all of the wrong channels.
Now when I watch movies or listen to music I switch to 5. sound in entertainment mode, but to make this work properly I have to open CMSS-3D. I then change it from xpand to stereo and put the slider at even center for 50%. If I use the default xpand mode the audio is way off coming out of all of the wrong channels.
How do I make 5. render properly on vista

We ended up getting iTunes cleanly uninstalled and were able to re-install without issue. All is now mostly well.

I bought a ipod touch second generation from someone at work and it wont sync with itunes. i am using vista on a pc,and i have reloaded itunes 5 times and it still wont sync. i think it is a problem with vista as i had my ipod and sync cable checked outok

problem with vista and 5. i install my old audigy 2 zs exp pro with DTT2500 speaker
In my new pc.
i install vista 64 and SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000 driver from creative site.
when i go to control panel/sound and test the 5. surrund ' iget only the two front speaker.
why is that?
i try to play a song from vista folder "Distance" and i get all 5 +sub to play.
do i miss something?
is the test worg and with another test i can get all spedajer to work or the driver is not good?

i can get 4 speaker when i use the fourpoint mode on the desktop theather 5. dtt2500 digital,
but in movie mode i get only 2 front speaker.
i use the digital out from the sound blaster.

My apologies about not explaining further about disabling SPDIF passthrough. See the steps below to enable DDL encoding.
***Before proceeding please make sure that you've purchased, installed and activated the DDL pack***
. Open Creative Audio Console, go to the Decoder tab to disable driver level encoding and enable SPDIF passthrough (this is done by selecting SPDIF passthrough or any similar option that enable the use of an external decoder) instead of using the built-in decoders.
2. Open up your playback devices window (right click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and select playback devices) and set analog speakers (not SPDIF) as your default device. This is VERY IMPORTANT step, or else you get the "the device is busy" error when enbaling DDL encoding.
3. In the Audio Console, select the Encoder tab and enable DLL encoding.
Note:
When DDL encoding is enabled, it makes exclusi've use of your SPDIF connection so, no passthrough is possible. The default output format when using DDL encoding is 48KHz/6 bits. If you make use of any AC3 audio filters (such as ac3filter/others included in codec packs/media player softwares) when DLL encoding is enabled, then please change their output device to analog speakers instead of SPDIF.
To use back SPDIF passthrough (when playing back media with a pre-encoded audio source), open up Audio Console and disable DDL encoding and in the Playback Devices window change the default device to SPDIF. If you make use of any AC3 audio filters (such as ac3filter/others included in codec packs/media player softwares) then please change their output device back to SPDIF. You may also wish to change back your output format to 92KHz/24 bits (right click on SPDIF and select properties -> Advanced tab).

Problem with Photostream on a PC with VISTA
I have latest Vista SP installed. I installed the download for ICloud for Vista Control Panel. I followed Apple's instructions and am unable when I snap a picture to have it downloaded on my PC to the default directories.
I have done a iCloud backup a couple of times.
I have changed the directory destinations, turned off my firewall, and still not getting the pics on my PC.

Well, the problem has been partially solved. When using the free Camera Plus app, all works as it should. All pics that I take download successfully.
Does this mean that the the Apple Camera app is defective?
How do you fix this app, cannot be deleted on the IPOD.
