Dreamweaver not saving FTP login
Dreamweaver does not save my FTP login info even though I
click the "Save" checkbox. I have to go in and reenter the
information in site management each time I open dreamweaver. Has
anyone had this problem? a fix?

Dreamweaver not saving sites login info
Dreamweaver 8 is not saving my site logins and passwords,
regardless of whether or not the "save" checkbox is enabled.
This is on XP 64bit, I did not have this problem on my

Dreamweaver 8 forgets ftp login and password
I entered my FTP information in Dreamweaver 8's Remote Info
section, and clicked the Save checkbox. When I open Dreamweaver, it
remembers the ftp host, but the login and password are blank. Any
ideas?go to adobe.com site and get the 8.02 update installer.

Dreamweaver not remember FTP details
Hi Guys,
I have a problem with dreamweaver at the moment. for some
reason its not remembering the user and pass in the FTP details of
each site. i looked through a couple of threads, and deleted that
temp file that was mentioned, but that didnt sort the problem.
i have windows vista home premium installed. i dont think
this is the problem because when i installed dreamweaver after i
installed vista, it remembered my ftp details without a problem.
the problem started happening about a week ago, and i cant think of
anything thats changed on my computer since that time.
Thanks

However i did go around the problem with renaming the

FTP Login Gone Everytime I Close DW
Hi,
Every time I close and re-open Dreamweaver all my FTP login
info is gone. (user and password). This just started yesterday. I
have been using this product Dreamweaver CS3 for almost a year
without problem.
Any ideas?

received a link to the answer from another member. Unfortunately
the link has now been terminated but from what I remember it was
down to Keychain Access in the Utilities folder.
If you select the 'login' section under Keychains you'll see
a list of password entries with the name of 'Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
Site'. These are still named like this now even though I now use
CS4. These were all apparently corrupted and I had to delete them
all.
I then went back to Dreamweaver CS4 and re-entered all my
passwords and logons (a pain I know) for my web sites and upon
quitting and restarting the app it held them. Whatever made them
corrupt in the beginning I don't know but everything's been fine
since.
Hope this helps for Mac users.
Unfortunately this did not work for me, I'm using Dreamweaver
CS4 on OS X 10.5.6 (mac). I removed the CS3 keychains and then
started up DW CS4, re-inserted the login and password, made sure
"Save" login info was checked. Then after closing DW CS4 and
re-opening it the login and password were blank. This happens both
at work and at home.
This little annoying bug (that has yet to be fixed by adobe)
makes CS4 almost unusable. -
FTP login and password are not saved on some sites
On some of my sites the FTP login and password are not saved
(even though the "saved" box is checked). Dreamweaver 8.0 on XP
SP2. I can export the site information and then import the same
file exported and there still will be no login or password placed
in the login or password window. I opened the exported .ste files
in notepad and found the login correct and the password incorrect.
I uninstalled Dreamveaver and reinstalled still same
problem.Ok, I just spent about 3 hours on this. Here's the latest
that I've found. I had looked at the knowledgebase and my registry
matched what was suggested. As this has been an ongoing issue for
me, I thought it was still an issue. Apparently 8.02 did have some
improvements.
I can only guess that many of the 36 sites I have in the Site
Manager lost info before the .02 update.. or I hope so.
I did however discover that there is still what could be
considered a minor bug. I went in to Manage Sites and selected edit
for all of my sites, fixing the ones that had lost their user/pass
info. I'm not positive, but I think only the last edited site kept
it's data.
I discovered after many checks on all the sites, over and
over and over, that it appears that they are now holding the data,
but, if I add the user/pass, I must not only click the OK button to
close that particular site, but I must also click the 'Done' button
before only that one will be saved.
So, I thought I was fixing logins when in fact I was only
fixing one at a time.. Completely closing 'Manage Site' seemed to
hold one new set of login data each time. Seems that it shouldn't
be this way.
But I must say, I am rejoicing at the moment, as I actually
have all my sites set up with FTP info and I am now looking forward
to hopefully adding more and maybe they'll actually be available
for the next editing session. -
FTP login & password not saved
Under "manage sites" /remote, the box is checked to "save" my
site FTP login and password, but after I shut down Dreamweaver 8
and later come back to edit & put a page, I get a login error.
Turns out the login and password are not saved. When I re-enter
these two fields, I can put the page up on the site. I never had
this problem in my last version (Dreamweaver 3). Please help!! I'm
on the very disappointing Windows Vista OS. This problem happens
with multiple sites on multiple host servers, so it's not a single
site problem.Download the 8.0.2 upgrade

Mac user: FTP login pw not saved
I tried posting this to another topic that was posted by a PC
user, am concerned it will get buried. I'm a Mac user and having
this same annoying FTP login issue. I don't have IE7 (can't, thank
you Microsoft) and had no problems in MX, only after upgrading to
Studio 8. Have installed the 8.0.2 update without problems. Doesn't
fix the problem. Murray, are you out there. Help! Thanks for posting this!

Mac DW CS4 FTP site preferences not saving
Hi
Without going to the complete uninstall and reinstall of
Dreamweaver CS 4, which shouldn't be necessary because it's a
preference issue, I can't get it to hold my FTP log on details for
some sites.
I've been to ~/Library/Application
Support/Adobe/Common/10/Sites and dumped the Site Prefs.
I've been to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ and dumped
the whole Dreamweaver CS4 folder
Finally I've been to I've been to ~/Library/Preferences and
dumped the Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Prefs.
I've used Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permissions and repair
any damage (of which there was none).
As I was saying it's only losing FTP details for some web
sites after quit and restart. Why on earth should it be doing that
for some and not others? I have to keep reimporting the site from a
backup of the preferences which were created from a clean
installation.
I'm stumped, has anyone else had this really frustrating
problem?Garry, I would love to know what the solution was that worked for you.
1. I have tried to repair keychains using keychain first aid.
2. I have deleted every keychain related to Dreamweaver and the specific FTP I am trying to use, Which was there with the correct login and password.
3. I have turned off Keychain sync with .Mac. And repeated step 1-2.
None of this has worked for me. My login and password (although set to be saved), is missing from Dreamweaver whenever I start up. furthermore, Dreamweaver is no longer even putting the login information into the keychain. -- I'm looking at the kitchen and there is nothing for Dreamweaver or the FTP after I save it. it is like there is a disconnect between Dreamweaver and the keychain program.
Other information about my particular situation:
I am using a fresh install of Dreamweaver CS4, installed as part of the Web premium package. I am using a clean hard drive -- recently cleared and started fresh with OS 10.5 .7. After I cleared it I brought the sites over -- having exported them from Dreamweaver and save them prior to clearing the drive. I did have Keychain sync enabled in my.Mac account.
I had been using Dreamweaver CS4 for a few months on this drive before I cleared it off, and I did not have any trouble. It was an upgrade from CS3.
If anyone has any solutions, I would be most appreciative. -
Dreamweaver no longer saves the login information for my
remote server. I enter my login and password, select the Save
checkbox, but every time I close, then reopen Dreamweaver, the
login information disappears—it is not saved!
This did not always happen, but I don't know what would cause
this behavior. Any ideas?Install the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 updater from the Adobe Site.
Its probably
because you installed IE 7. Installing the Update fixes the
issue

FTP Passwords not saving in site
Hi Guys
Im trying out DW8 and the only thing that im having trouble
with is my site is not saving the FTP user and password to log in
with
If i add the details needed It works fine and as long as
dreamweaver is open its fine.
But if i close it down and open it again all the details for
my site are there except the FTP username and passowrd and i have
to manually type these in all the time.
Not a big problem but its a hassel.
Is there some reason they aint saving? I have chosen the tick
box to save password.
Thanks again
TagI am having the same problem except the information doesn't
*always*
disappear -- but it does disappear rather often for no
apparent reason. I
just posted about this above ("Frequent loss of Remote Info
in site
definitions").
I am using IE 6.0 and Windows XP Pro SP2.

Dreamweaver 8 FTP login details
For some reason Dreamweaver 8 no longer retails the FTP login
details on the remote info tab on some but not all of the 5 web
sites I manage. Anyone suggest a reason for this?8.02 would do it.
