Dreamweaver on a Netbook

I own Creative Suite 3, Web Premium. I believe I'm allowed to
install it
on two computers - a desktop and a laptop. But how does one
define
"desktop" and "laptop."
In fact, I'm using my MacBook Pro as a desktop, and I'm about
to
purchase a netbook, which I would use as a mobile computing
device.
Would Adobe allow me to install CS3 on both computers - a
laptop and a
netbook?
In fact, I probably wouldn't install the whole program, as
netbooks
obviously aren't designed for powerful software programs. But
I'd like
to try and install Dreamweaver, so I can work on my web pages
when I'm
at work (as in "my real job").
The question is really academic at this point. I'm probably
going to buy
a netbook with Windows XP, then wipe the hard drive and
install Linux
Ubuntu on it. Since my CS3 version is Apple compatible, I
can't use it
with either one. However, I'm hoping to install Apple on my
netbook as well.

As long as you don't use them at the same time I think you
should be fine.

I think the small screen size is going to be your biggest
problem.

You can only install OS X on Mac hardware. I have heard from
someone on
here that its possible to install the base code on a PC, but
never found
any real evidence that is been done successfully, everything
I have read
about it says its not possible, or its so much work your
likely to fail
and give up.

CS3 problems with Master suite Dreamweaver CS3

Hi all, I've just activated my new CS3 master suite and there are a few problems so far. I cannot make dreamweaver my default
program for editing html files of any kind. I cannot also select any cs3 program as a default program for any file. I am using windows 7. I also cannot add the software package to my netbook as it keeps asking for the disc and I do not have a disc drive in the netbook. I have tried copying the
installation files onto a memory stick but I still cannot activate the CS3 on my netbook?

This is where I am now - I found out from Adobe that these 2 licences we fake keys so after I picked my jaw up from the floor I contacted customer services at Adobe and asked them to take action against this seller and they have told me I will receive an email soon with an update. To be honest they didn't seem that bothered so i don't know if they will do anything. I should have seen the signs really because the seller has a PO Box and that is usually suspicious.
Anyway I contacted the seller and told them that they had sold me an en illegal software package and demanded a refund. I then contacted my credit card company and blocked the transaction with them. As soon as I got off the phone from the CC company (10 mins ago) I checked my email and I had a reply from the seller, here it is .....
"the keys i sent you over the email are for trial only, since the real keys are on the way in the mail.
i did not send you your keys since i do not keep keys once i mail them out.
have fully refunded in any case for the trouble, take care Steve and have a nice day"
Now I don't know who Steve is because it certainly isn't my name so maybe this guy has this standard message on his clipboard for all of the refunds he has to issue. I don't think the line about a trial key sounds very likely but I am no expert with Adobe products so maybe you could shed some light on this.
At least I got my refund so now all I have to do is make my mind up what to buy from here in but I will make sure it is from a company I have heard of

Adobe Bridge Buttons in Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks?

Hello,
Adobe says that the button to connect to Adobe bridge is in
every CS3 application. I can find it in Photoshop, Illustrator, and
even Contribute, a former Macromedia project, but none of the other
Macromedia projects (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks) have one. Am I
missing it, or is this a glitch?

Go to Edit > Prefs > Enable Version Cue. Once you do
that look in the lower left corner of the flash
application - you should see "Open" with an arrow. Clicking
on it will popup "Reveal in Bridge" button.

Dreamweaver 6 - Images going in to wrong folder

In older versions of Dreamweaver I was able to specify the default images folder for a site. I can't find a place to do that in Dreamweaver 6 and images inserted from outside the designated site are ending up in the main (html) folder instead of the images folder so I have to manually move them to keep things organized the way I want them. How do I get Dreamweaver 6 to behave like older versions and put the images where I want them in the first place?

I misread the default images folder as the default root folder & went right by it.

How to connect my netbook to the tv using vga.

i have a hp netbook and I was able to link my netbook to a panasonic tv, but when i try to connect to sony bravia tv it says no signal detected. I have attached a toshiba laptop without any problem so i think it may be a case of changing my setting but i do not know how to do this. Can anyone please advise. thanks

Do you have an Apple ID, and are you signed in, go into your settings>iCloud to check. You shouldn't need to download iTunes because that app is on your iPhone, could you give me more information of what you are trying to download.

Use VBA and Excel to open Dreamweaver HTML (CS5), find and replace text, save and close

I have 5000 associations between Find: x0001 and Replace: y0001 in an Excel sheet.

How do i remove image links to adobe site with my dreamweaver built flash gallery ?

This is probably a very simple solution, but i can't figure out how to remove the link to the adobe site when you click on the images in my gallery--I built a site in dreamweaver used the insert media option and added my photos---when uploaded, my images in the gallery are clickable and take you to the adobe site...how do i make the images have no link??

Which version of DW are you running?
There are plenty of jQuery solutions and commercial plugins to create photo galeries.

Weird boxes in code view from Dreamweaver 8 to Dreamweaver MX

I have Dreamweaver 8 and my coworker has Dreamweaver MX. I
have an XML document save from Dreamweaver 8. When the document is
opened in Dreamweaver MX, there are alot of little boxes thrown in
throughout the code. For example commented code has a box after
each letter and each new line of code has a box at the start.
Here's an example of what I mean. (I will use "O " instead of
a box, because I don't know how to insert a box)
Dreamweaver 8:

Dreamweaver MX:
O<O!O-O-OHOeOlOloO OtOhOiOsO OiOsO OmOyO OcOoOdOeO
O-O-O>
As you can see this make the code virtually unreadable.
Does anyone know a way around this issue?

I figured it out myself. For anyone else that encounters this
problem the solution is to. Open the document in WordPad and then
save it as a "text document". Then reopen it in Dreamweaver MX and
the little boxes are gone.

Who can remotely look at a Dreamweaver problem?

I have been working on my website www.goodimage.com and trying to get it to auto update via templates for months. I need someone who is very knowlegable with Dreamweaver CS4 and has the ability to remotely connect to my system so that they can see what has been going on and fix it. Or, let me know what I might be doing wrong I have spent the last four days on it and doing all that I have read and been told I think it is probably related to my system somehow. Anyway any suggestions will be appreciated. I have some reservation about Adobe if I am going to be sent overseas for help. Adobe USA is very good. When you update a template, it should ask if you want to update the pages created from the template. When you click Update, all pages connected to the template are updated on your local computer. Dreamweaver does not automatically upload the pages that have been updated. You have to do that yourself by selecting the pages in the Files panel and uploading them to your remote server.

According to your description, I would suggest you check the video card driver, please make sure to install the latest version, you can manually find the latest driver from the manufacture website, then change the resloution again.
Or you can contact the vender, check whether this model of PC fully supports Windows 8.1, it's always recommended to run Upgrade Assistant before you upgrade to Windows 8.1

Photo Gallery Database in Dreamweaver Help

Can anyone offer advise on a simple solution for a photo gallery based on a database that can be intergrated to a website that I'm creating in Dreamweaver. Does anyone know of any widget like options and or templates? Thanks in advance.

Photo Gallery in Dreamweaver

I am updating a site that has a flash gallery displayed within a table cell. I want to replace the flash (.swf) gallery with an html one that would be apple friendly. Is there a way to embed an html/java slideshow within a table on a page? Lightroom exports an html page. Isn't there a way to link a lightroom gallery to dreamweaver the same way you would link photoshop to an image in indesign? easy edits easy display? Am I missing something? Maybe it is a huge pain to create an html gallery on a page... I just updated from cs4 so I don't know all of the available options. Lightroom seemed like the way to go.

There are many javascript photo galleries available online that you could use to do this. I would steer clear of anything that does it automatically (like Photoshop or Fireworks) as the code they generate is horrible.
Look up "jquery slideshow" and you'll have literally hundreds to choose from with most giving a "how to" tutorial. It'll take some basic coding skills to do it though. If you're not ready for that, look into Project VII, they have paid extensions for DW that can do this for you from the Design View interface.

Photo Gallery in Dreamweaver using Fireworks

How do I add images to a photo gallery that I created in
Dreamweaver using Fireworks? I created a photo gallery and I
changed my background color and other settings, but I need to find
any easier way to add images without messing up my settings. Each
time I add a photo, I don't want to have to change 40+ web pages.
Can someone please help? If there is an easier program to use, then
I will change programs.

Sorry in advance if the following comment is missing the
point of your question.
Ans: You need to export (>File > Export) the image that
you have manipulated in Fireworks to an images folder in your
dreamweaver website. You will be prompted for an optimum file
output (JPEG, GIF etc) during this process. Then close Fireworks
and open DW. Then place your curser at the point in the webpage
where you want to insert the image and then select Menu > Insert
> Image. Browse to the image that you have created in Fireworks
and press enter. Job done! Fireworks is a fantastic s/w application
... and there's no need to look elsewhere.

Edit an OS Commerce template in dreamweaver

I downloaded an os commerece template for my first e commerce store and everything is set up ok, just need to edit the whole template to my products and colours. I am trying to remove the stamp at the bottom that says designed by monstertemplate, with their website links at the bottom but not having any luck. I can see the the links code when I turn on the live code view in dreamweaver but cant see it when I go to codes to try and edit it. Maybe I am missing something and would appricate any help. This is the website:
