Dreamweaver page with flash - look at this - want top and left static

in the above page it is behaving just like wanted, EXCEPT want the top and left side to be 'pinned', meaning when resizing the browser window, the top does not disappear. I like that it resizes, and scales yet, keeps the whole viewport filled. Don't like that it can disappear at the top if the browser window isnt just right.
What do you think?

The rotation is jQuery.
But just because you use Flash for a cosmetic element (even an image rotation) doesn't mean that's the only thing that can be on the page, you know?

[FP 11.4 & FF 14.0.1] Firefox hang on every page with flash-content

Hi at all
I have a problem with the new Flash Player, let me explain it:
We have a windows-domain with software distribution via GPO.
Since update to 11.4 via the msi package (11.3 was previously installed) we have in the meanwhile 3 PCs (all Win7 x32 with FF 14.0.1 and Flash 11.4) with this problem:
- While loading a page with Flash content, the Firefox simply freezes and have to be killed together with plugin-container in order to work again.
If this happens, ff and plugin-container have 0% cpu-usage. It freezes and does nothing...
If I remove Flash: Web-pages are working, but without flash.
What I've tried:
reinstall using flash-uninstaller
Using "normal" end-user web-installer
Uninstall via Uninstaller and tried 11.3 again
reinstall Firefox, both 14 and 13
Nothing helped to bring Flash-support back.
This happens only on FF, Internet Explorer is working fine...
Can someone give me a hint?

What about hardware, are there similarities here? Attached devices/drivers? Software that is running at the time?
These machines are all from DELL. They all have normal hardware, nothing special. Other machines from same type does not affected. Software: All have standard software distributed via Software-distribution (GPO). Only some PCs have special software, but it is not running. No special drives, too.
Maybe try booting Windows in safe mode to see if it still hangs?

We're definitely interested in what's going on. I'll ask our security and Mozilla folks to see if they have additional clues.

Safe mode: Flash is working! (without disabled Protected Mode!)
I've set msconfig now to: Custom system start and deselected the boxes to load systemservices and system start elements.
So, now windows does a non-safe mode boot but no service or element was loaded except the drivers (right?). Flash is not working with this config!
So, whats the difference between safe mode and normal boot with minimal configuration (see attached picture).
Only drivers will be loaded, right? If so, I can exclude the network and graphics driver as source: graphics driver are updated right now and network was working in safe-mode.
Any new ideas?

Firefox crashes on any page with flash. I have the most recent version of Firefox on OSX Snow Leopard. I have made sure that I have all the most recent plugins and extensions and I am not running any custom theme. I have completely un-installed and re-installed Firefox and flash to no avail. I think the problem is in some user preference, but I cannot seem to find it. If I log out and use a different user on my machine, Firefox does not have the flash crash problem.

JYOuyang: I have the correct plugin for Flash. My problem is not the "Flash crashed" icon, which would be generally acceptable, but FIREFOX crashing, usually rather dramatically. I have since regressed to Firefor 3.6.3. I am still using Flash 10.1, the newest version. This no longer causes Firefox to crash. Now then -- if the same plugin causes no crashes in the new version of Firefox and does cause crashes in the prior version, it is not exactly a humongous leap to conclude that maybe, just maybe, there was a bug introduced in Firefox 3.6.4? I mean, it's not as if a major feature of 3.6.4 was a significant change in how plugins interact with the browser or anything... oh, wait, there was, wasn't there? Hmmm. Saying "It's Adobe's fault!" rings a little hollow when the 10.1 plugin works correctly in the prior version of Firefox. Any kind of host/plugin model relies on a contract between the host and the plugin, and when there's a crash, it indicates one side or the other broke that contract. Under the circumstances, it's difficult not to suspect the blame for this lies on the Firefox side. It's certainly possible that Adobe's code IS broken and the problem is that it SHOULD work with the new version of Firefox, if it were properly written, but it's not, so it doesn't. However, no one seems to want to dig down to find out or provide a workaround other than regressing to 3.6.3, so that's what I've done -- Firefox does too many other things right for me to switch browsers at this point.

Flash Player flickering in IE8 on pages with Flash

We're having a problem with Flash 10.1 on an Windows XP Pro 32bit machine and all pages with associated flash content flickering when you scroll the page. This has been happening with the most recent version as well as older versions.
Machine: Dell Optiplex GX620
Windows XP PRO 32bit
Explorer 8
Flash 10.1 (latest)
I have uninstalled & reinstalled Flash and all other Adobe products several times.
I have updated the video drivers
I have disabled / reenabled H/W acceleration
I have run IE8 w/ the no Add-on option and it does not flicker (obviously)
Now what's very odd is if I log the user account off and log in with admin credentials, I get NO flickering at all on any pages with flash content. However any user account that does not have admin rights on the machine has the flickering problem. We have several hundred machines in the building and this is the only one having this issue.
I also noticed that after uninstalling flash and then reinstalling it, and then trying to install Shockwave - I got an "sw.cab blocked - unknown publisher" error which I'm guessing means that Adobe is not being correctly registered on the machine when product is installed.
ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Still haven't solved this problem but I've noticed the flickering happening in IE8 as well. Every few seconds it sounds like a click-event is firing. The flickering occurs even when the project is paused. Essentially the user hear's a "click" sound and the page flashes to white and seems to reload, however it doesn't effect the timeline of the project. That being said its extremely distracting and certainly a huge bug of some sort as it is only happening in various versions of IE. We're testing on XP, but I would imagine its doing the same on other versions of the Windows OS.
Could it have something to do with the fact that there's a separate flash player for IE? What's going on here?

Chrome, Firefox, IE all crash when leaving page with flash

I am running XP with SP 2 on a Intel Core Duo Dell machine. These are coporate machines. I've had two in the past two weeks and both are giving me the same error.
   After installing the latest flash player, all browsers are able to load a flash page. However, when leaving that page for another, all browsers stop responding. They don't crash, they merely freeze.
   Chrome indicates that the flash plugin has crashed and would I like to terminate it. The others simply stall.
   I've uninstalled, re-installed, rebooted.. etc.
   Interestingly enough, a fellow coworker who appears to have the same machine as I, does not have this problem.
   Any ideas on how to debug this ?

i seem to have the same problem too....
chrome tells me that Shockwave plugin has become unresponse then says its crashed....
Firefox becomes unresponsive (i've left it in that state for quite a while..result nothing)
i uninstall flash using the uninstaller provided from adobe (or from add and remove programs, tried both options) and browsers run perfectly fine... of course access to flash content lost since i need the plugin...!

antivirus - AVG Free
particular websites that i use (all of them with flash content crash!!!) and that crash EVERY time - youtube, bbc.co.uk, facebook, gmail, f1-live.com, all sites with flash crash!!
i've tried everything i could find on firefox forums, chrome forums, and here... nothing works... now i'm gonna revert to flash 8 and try... hopefully adobe will respond to this problem... its not jus one or two who are facing this problem...!!

Before doing this the "Never Activate" worked.

Just to make it a little more confusing, Adobe has two similarly named plugins:
* Shockwave Flash (current major version is 17) -- this is the Flash player -- https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
* Shockwave for Director (current major version is 12) -- only the rare site uses this one -- https://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
I'm assuming both are set to "Never Activate" because the site wasn't able to detect either of them (see the More System Details link next to your post).
So probably sites are using some other method to play the media. If you right-click it (or Mac equivalent!), do you get a different plugin menu, or the standard Firefox context menu?

Firefox wont make a new tab while i'm on a page with flash elements.

Whenever i'm on a page with flash elements I cannot make a new tab by hitting Ctrl+T. though Ctrl+click on a link and selecting New Tab from the menue still works. if I have 2 tabs open and one with flash I can go the one without flash on the page and use Ctrl+T make a new tab.

If a plugin has focus then that plugin handles all key presses, so you can't open a new tab via the keyboard unless you first set focus outside that Flash object.

Rage Sitemap Automator and iWeb SEO Tool are two different applications.
Use SEO Tool to add the title tag and meta description. These need to be added to the html file for every page of your website. SEO Tool stores all these so that when you republish you only need to add tags to any new pages and click the re-apply button to refresh the existing ones.
Once you have added. refreshe the tags with iWeb SEO Tool and uploaded the files with your FTP application, then open the site in Sitemap Automator and create and upload a new sitemap.
Once you have set up accounts with Google, Yahoo and Bing, verified your site with each and submitted a sitemap, on subsequent publishing Sitemap Automator will resubmit the sitemap with one button click. It will also notify Ask.com whch doesn't require an account since you can add your domain name to this URL to ping them...

additional note: Am using cs3 and so far using as2
To achieve as seen in above link: in dreamweaver set the w and h to 100% , plus setting the margin to 0 for height, width, top, bottom, plus set ' scale' to 'noscale.
Then have also tried (not in link above) setting the publish settings to 100% for w and h, the flash does not disappear at the top, but then there is alot of white all the way around at top and bottom even with above mentioned DW settings.
when not setting publish settings to 100% then we get what you see above in the link: it scales very nicely with no white and fills the screen the whole time, BUT it does disappear at the top.

This situation does sound very frustrating. I know that you have tried some great troubleshooting steps already and the issue remains unresolved. Have you forced the Mail application to close and then opened it back fresh? If not, this is the next troubleshooting step I would suggest. Please let me know if the issue remains unresolved.

I found an article from Apple that specifically outlines how to try and troubleshoot this issue. It's called iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424.
Resolution
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Applefor assistance.

Gap in DW CS3 page (top and left)

i am still fairly new to dreamweaver but have learned a great
amount, but when i build a layout in layout mode it wont let my put
any tables, pictures, or generally anything else directly into the
top left corner. So when i preview the page with F12 there is a 5px
gap on the top and left of the page

Flash CC 2014 html publishing banners - why you removed the default top and left margin? How to put it back in?

Hello.
When im making bazilions of flash banners for my clients they want to see the html preview cause not all clients have standalone flash player installed to open swf in original scale. It wasnt problem in CS4 (and all other versions i have used so far), but in CC 2014 published html previews have no margins on top and on the left of the embedded swf - that makes previewing them troublesome when someone want to judge if border is subtle enough etc (banners are never snatched closely to the border of the screen in their natural habitat ). Manually changing all published html previews to add these margins is misunderstunding, especially when Adobe charge so much money for new versions that supposed to be better, and require less effort to produce stuff in them... Perfect solution would be to be able to publish banners center on the html preview file, but i can live with just these oldschool top and left margins with swf in top-left corner.
Is there a way to add to the default html preview file the margins back? I need them a lot. And im getting tired of Adobe making my life harder with each expensive version of their software im forced to buy due to no backward compatibility of fla files i have to work on with agencies.

I think the default behavior is to show the flash movie with top-left alignment with no border within the HTML page, even in previous versions.
You could change that by selecting a different template for publishing,.
Open Publish Settings dialog,
Click on HTML Wrapper,
Click on Template drop-down and try out with different templates.

Upon Loading of page, Setting the Top and Left properties of a TextField

I would just like to ask for suggestions on how to successfully set the top and left properties of a Textfield as soon as the page is loaded.
Thru Giri's help, I was able to do this with the push of a button. What I would need to do right now is to set it as soon as the page is loaded.

Hi Jim,
It is not clear what you are trying to do here. If you want to set the top and left properties of a component when the page is loaded all you have to do is set it at design time itself. If the properties need to be set the second time the page loads then the code can be used in the event handler which submits the page.
It would help if you could explain the use case for setting the properties of a component when the page is loaded.
