Dreamweaver pages won't preview in Firefox since last update (3.6.13); Firefox opens blank page only. I am running OS 10.4.11 on iMac G5.

Previously both Firefox and Safari would display web pages created in Dreamweaver (MX). Dreamweaver is set up to preview by default in Safari (F12) and, using (F12) and the Command modifier key, in Firefox. Now the preview works only in Safari. Trying to preview in Firefox results in Firefox opening, if it wasn't already running, but only a blank page displays.

That didn't work. The problem is now on both accounts
That's an indication the startup disk may need repairing.
Launch Disk Utility. That's located in /Applications/Utilities
Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repariing follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

Preview & Ipoto problems since last update

Last night, I was offered and installed the following updates;
2010-04-04 22:26:01 +0100: Installed "AirPort Base Station Update 2010-001" (5.5.1)
2010-04-04 22:27:25 +0100: Installed "Security Update 2010-002" (1.0)
2010-04-04 22:28:20 +0100: Installed "iTunes" (9.1)
There was also a 4th "QuickTime" update, but during the installation process it complained that the package could not be verified, and failed to install. After that, anything which uses quicktime would immediately fail due to missing libraries. So this morning I did a "check for updates" and redownloaded it and it installed OK;
2010-04-05 06:40:01 +0100: Installed "QuickTime" (7.6.6)
However, now I get the issue that Preview won't open when working on Photo files (Nikon .NEF), and Iphoto has just told me that it can't import 5 out of 10 Jpegs (but could when dragged in individually) and when I tried to import 93 .NEFs, it did it Ok, but complained that it couldn't import 186 files (who knows what these were...)
Is it just me or is this update flawed? Any suggestions on returning to normality?

Make sure that the ringtones are stored in the internal memory space in the ringtones folder there.

I have not been able to open and PDF since last update

I have not been able to open any PDF since last update. It starts to open goes to blank text area. I am unable to use any ofthe buttons eg. help or fileopen... it then closes automaticly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same issues. I have also installed just XL not 11.0.03 version to try something different.P
Please help

If you are in Windows (which we don't know), you can try using Windows Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement

I disconected from the network and it previews fine now. Performance is normal.
I updated from whatever the previous version was to: 2014.2
I have also been exporting the html and previewing it that way, which works.
I would prefere to stay connected to the network. (Emails, web, my life, etc.)

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Are you sure about your FTP credentials (FTP folder and site URL) that you are using for the upload? Are you able to see the updated files in the remote directory of the FTP server, after you finish uploading the muse file, using an external FTP client like FileZilla?

This is my problem that has to originate from the update. So glad that I did not purchase a MacBook! Apple products/apps are appearing to be not different from Windows products.
I have deleted and reinstalled from the device and desktop, resets, etc. When I uninstalled and reinstalled while connected to my desktop, the older version of pages was installed. I was able to see all of my files that were saved to the cloud. I was forced to update again to access any of the saved files. Once updated again, I could no longer open pages. It began, to open and abruptly shut down.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

Time since last update

I regularly update my website sometimes once a day sometimes several times. I would to place a script or something on the page that places a "mins/hours/days" since last update. Similar to post columns on forums. I have looked through Dreamweaver exchange but cannot find anything (or have i missed it)

Most likely you will require PHP and such to do that. JavaScript as such cannot list files and their properties etc.. File system access goes against its security model.

I was finally able to log in through my system preferences after about three or four hours. I ran a disk utility to repair permissions and restarted and it seemed to work ok.

That happened because you synce'd your phone to a new computer, the phone can only be synce'd with one library. You can get all your songs back if they were puchased in itunes. Go to purchased in itunes store and download is at the bottom of the page.

Now when that aplication or extention from Itune is working my computor froze to a huge alt. I play video games online and love listening to my music with itune playing in the background and normally was able to have firefox open and a program called ventrillo all working at the same time and now i can barelly have itune and play a game. As soon it start been choppy i just control alt delete wait 5 minute to close down apsdaemon.exe when i'm capable most of the time i have to restart my computor.
