Dreamweaver patch to deal with new IE problem?

Ok, well I think we're all understanding the fact that
Microsoft lost a lawsuit and has implimented this
click,enter,spacebar to activate anything added with
<object><embed>or<applet> tags. So, as designers
and developers, I believe most of us have found the javascript work
around and are either using Macromedia's suggested solution from
the devnet article or have come up with our own similar solution
(as I have and will be happy to share with anyone interested.) Now,
seeing as it appears this problem is here to stay with IE, my
question, or suggestion, is will Macromedia come out with a patch
for dreamweaver to help streamline this solution? It seems to me
like it would be easy enough to edit the way the flash(shockwave,
quicktime,etc.) button in dreamweaver works. Whereas now, you press
it, select your flash movie, and it adds it with object and embed
tags, with this patch it would generate the appropriate javascript
file and javascript code for placing the element in the html. Is
this something that is in the works or is being considered? I think
it's a step forward into the global solution of this
problem.

I'm trying to transfer music from iTunes on an old PC (Windows Vista Home Basic) that uses an external storage device to store the files to a new PC (Windows 7 Starter) that will use that same external storage device. I am also dealing with the new iTunes 11. How can I accomplish this successfully? What folder does iTunes use to store the data in? I've tried several things. Home Sharing caused duplicates but not all songs or apps transfered. It is a large library! I've tried just setting the path in the Advanced Tab of iTunes preferences of the new computer with the external drive connected the same as the path when the external drive is connected to the old computer. This was the best solution so far but still a few artists missing and some apps. Any suggestions?

Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
With iTunes 11 you might also have a Home Videos folder inside iTunes Media.
In the simplest cases you copy the entire iTunes folder from <User's Music> on the source computer to <User's Music> on the target machine, install iTunes, and it "just works"TM.
If the media folder (inside the red outline) has been split out to a separate location then you can copy the library folder (outside the red outline) as before and connect the drive holding the media so that it has exactly the same path as before. If the drive appears as D: on one system and E: on the other then the library won't be able to find the media.
The crucial file is iTunes Library.itl - this contains a record of the tracks that have been added to the library, ratings, play counts, playlists etc.

Best way to deal with Storm 9530 problems?

Hi there,
i'm having numerous problems with my Storm from freezeups to random reboots to an inability to connect via USB (Windows reports a problem with the connection). Before I replace the phone I thought I would restore the phone to factory defaults to see if that solves any problems.
Is that the best way to deal with these problems? Can someone please point out the best way to backup my data (given that I can't connect via USB anymore) and restore the phone?

On Vista Firefox 6 incorrectly deals with security certificate problems

After I installed Firefox 6, I tried to go to one of my web sites. I know that there is an https security certificate problem with this site when I go to https://staging.photoquestadventures.com rather than https://www.photoquestadventures.com. On XP, FF6 opens the site. on Win7, FF6 warns about a security certificate problem then allows me to create an exception and open the site. On Vista, it says that it can't find the server at www.staging.photoquestadventures.com and I cannot get past this point - only on VISTA!

I downgraded to Firefox V4 (I didn't have a copy of V5 stored and couldn't find it on the net) and it asked the correct question: to allow connection even though there was a security certificate problem. Then I upgraded to V6, and it continued to connect just fine. So something in the V5 to V6 upgrade created the problem for me.
I wonder if there is insufficient testing of Firefox on Vista, as I have had several problems with new versions while I have not had the problems on XP or Win7.

How to patch DemoIdentity.jks with new host name

Somehow, after WebLogic was installed on a particular box, the DNS name for the local host was changed slightly. I created a domain on that box and I was about to start a managed server from the admin console, and I noticed that the NodeManager was not reachable, reporting the following error (hostname tweaked):
[Security:090504]Certificate chain received from localhost - 127.0.0.1 failed hostname verification check. Certificate contained foo.adm.tst.us.company.net but check expected localhost
I confirmed this by listing the identity keystore.
From the Unix prompt, "hostname" returns "foo.tst.us.company.net".
I looked at another box with a similar configuration, and the hostname of the identity cert matches the output of "hostname".
So, now I have to figure out how to repair this. If your first response is to say to modify the "hosts" file, I'm considering that out of bounds at this point. Making changes that require root access are a P.I.T.A here, so I want to avoid that.
I think the best way to fix this would be to patch the identity keystore. I believe I would have to create a new self-signed identity cert and put it into the keystore. Can someone spell out the basic steps I'd have to go through for this?

So far, I've done the following:
* CertGen to create the cert with the correct hostname
* used keytool -import ... to import the cert into the identity keystore
it seemed to me like "ImportPrivateKey" was just a veneer over keytool, so I didn't try that. I could be wrong.
At this point, I see two issues:
1. When I did the import, I saw that the new cert had an expiration date of tomorrow. That seems like a problem. I don't see any option in Certgen to specify an expiration date.
2. After importing the cert, I'm not sure what, if anything, I should restart before checking to see whether it worked. I tried just doing directly to the machine monitoring tab, and it still reports the mismatched hostname error.

Need help with new email problem

Hi friends . . . I'm not sure if this is a forum that could help me figure out my new problem . . . but I'll give it a try. . .I need some help . . . My email is sometimes being sent to the wrong address. Instead of my Yahoo address, they're sent to AOL instead. At first I thought this was an eBay or Paypal problem, but other mail that I subscribe to is all of a sudden going to AOL instead of my Yahoo address . . .In all of these cases, the AOL address was never registered with the site. I'm not using an external POP mail program . . . just standard Yahoo mail with iMac and Firefox. Anyone have any clue what's going on . . . .thanks in advance for any help . . .

then I go to the AMD offical web site and download video driver for linux64bit 11.8
after I installed it

Maybe not out of the woods yet. I ordered a new video card and installed it today in slot 1 after removing the original one. When booting up I thought I was pressing the PRAM reset but had mistakenly held the "control" key down as well. Needless to say - no monitor start-up.
After restarting a couple of times to no avail I realized my mistake and the next time correctly held the CommandOption+PR keys but interestingly it took a couple of restart chimes before it correctly brought up a gray screen. I then didn't release the keys in time and the next restart chimes the monitor stayed black - after one or two more continuous restart chimes I got the gray screen and everything booted up OK. I no longer have an error message for PCI Cards at System Profiler.
But given that it seemed that the PRAM reset didn't consistently activate a signal to the monitor, I am a little anxious that I have been chasing the wrong problem - that maybe it's been a PRAM or other problem all along and not necessarily the monitor. I do have that case where the System Profiler gave me an error message for the PCI Cards selection under Hardware in System Profiler, but I'm left wondering if problem solved.
Any easy way to debug PRAM - where is PRAM data stored?
I will report back if I get another black screen on restart or wake up...

Apple unable to deal with simple ftp problem.

Leopard 5.5 will not allow me to upload ftp to my website. Web development using a MAC just leaped to the dark ages. Any help out there. What are these guys doing?

AFter I moved from 5.4 to 5.5 I noticed that I was not able to upload files to my website using transmit (FTP). I checked worked with Transmit people, Hostgator people (Sever), and Apple. I can upload with a PC. I can connect using at least 6 different FTP Programs. I can download with them all, but I can upload with none. It stalls and sometimes leaves the title of the file, but empty.
I have talked with Apple twice and they say there is a problem... but have no clue what to do. With no hope they will do anything.
I have tried archiving Leopard and starting over... the only thing I have not tried is wiping the drive... I just got a new macbook and hoped it would work... not so... again Apple is clueless.

what should I do ?

How do I resize pinned tabs/deal with tab group problems in Firefox 22?

With the automatic update to Firefox 22, my pinned tabs have ballooned in size; not only does this look horrible, but it reduces the real estate available for other tabs. While NoSquint has sorted the issue with websites randomly resizing themselves, everything else (add-on menu, toolbar icons) has also increased in size, which affects what can be displayed.
Another problem with 22 is that my tab groups are no longer behaving normally: I click on one group and another group moves around the screen, typically jumping behind the original group I clicked on. Any suggestions for how to improve these problems are much appreciated.

How to deal with new Font script ?

Can somebody explain me how the new JavaFX Font script works ?
i.e. in preview SDK I wrote :

which means : use the "default" font, with BOLD style, and default size.
As the Font "style" attribute disappeared (why ???), what must I use in JavaFX 1.0 ?

First time dealing with Greenshift/Gamma problem in Quicktime/Safari

I've been editing video on a Mac and in Final Cut Pro since version 2 (I am transitioning to Adobe Premiere Pro so don't judge )and this is the first time I've had a huge problem with a shift in color from what I see on the canvas to what is exported - and the first time I've noticed that that problem/shift only happens when the footage is viewed in an Apple program (Quicktime or Safari when uploaded to Vimeo). Opening the footage in VLC or viewing the upload on Firefox? Looks gorgeous. But on Safari or Quicktime? Colors are muted and have a greenish cast.
In doing some research, especially on various Adobe forums, I've learned that this is a scarily widespread problem (and learned the term 'QuiRktime') so I'm suprised I haven't had this problem before - it may be due to the lovely taupe/grey outfits, skin tones, etc that I got to shoot.
The footage is for website/computer usage so looking at it on my monitor should be a good indicator. And I've had others look at the Vimeo upload and some have commented on the green cast (so are probably Mac people too...).
So I'm not sure what to do - how best to give it to the client.
Workflow: footage is ProRes HQ, shot in 1080, shrunk to 720 to make 'artificial second cam close-up' (don't ask...). Edited in Final Cut Pro, but I've been going back and forth with it in Adobe Premiere Pro to try and tweak the picture color and contrast, as I've been liking the filters in Premiere better than FCP lately, but had some pre-built items I needed to use in FCP as I haven't gotten around to re-building replacements in After Effects.
I've exported it as ProRes and used Adobe Media Encoder to compress (been using both the Vimeo 720 preset - and tried upping the bitrate, setting quality to max rendering - and the Broadcast 720 preset).
Only time I've gotten it to look good when opening on Quicktime is when I export it as Animation versus ProRes, but the resulting file is 12X (and thus 12GB) so too large to upload or burn on disc (and compressing it for web usage from that file gives identical results to simply compressing the ProRes file in the first place or exporting directly from Premiere Pro to h.264)
So my question is...what is the best way to export this footage to get the right color cast in Quicktime based computers and non-Quicktime using computers.

It actually doesn't matter where the footage will end up. The idea is to see the image accurately while grading, and for that you will need a calibrated, external TV. You just can't use a normal computer monitor or software media players for this.

Really tired with new itunes problems ( HELP)

I have the newer verison of itunes and I am having issues... Most of the time I click the shortcut on the bottom of the lower left side of the screen and the pointer shows the program tring to open for a few seconds and nothing... In task manager it does not show the program to be working. I can go directly to the program ( not from the shortcut) and same problem. I have reinstalled the repair 3-4 times and nothing. When the program feels like working the program takes 45-60 seconds to open. The itunes folder is installed in ... "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe"

Another stupid thing, there are so many apple authorized reseller here who offer applecare but again applecare doesn't work in my country. Apple hasn't put my country on the applecare service list. Not even my provider can help repairing my iphone 5 camera. So what's my guarantee thing for? really?
Since i got my iphone 5 for two months, the camera started indicate some problems. It starts with blinking screen, it turn pink and flickering then freeze. It was still on iOS 7, so i thought by updating will help solving the bugs problem. I have restore it too, nothing really works. Now my camera just a total pitchblack screen that i cant operate anymore and even my flashlight stop functioned too now...

My phone worked for a maximum of 5 minutes, before lsoing signal. Disabled LTE and it works perfectly. Spoke to some Samsung mates and they had the same problem.

Experienced user stumped with new unusual problem

I use a G4 MDD at work which runs 10.4.11.
I also use the classic environment for programs such as PageMaker and a bunch of other small programs that I have been using for many years that cannot be replaced, or are too expensive to replace.
WEIRD PROBLEM:
One day, BOOM the classic environment will not boot. If freezes with a gray screen.
AT THE SAME TIME
I cannot print to any printer. A dialogue pops up that I have never seen before that states "You cannot print because of an error"
I found an update to one of the printers, but when I tried to install it, it asks for my admin password and when I type it in I get a message "You must be an administer to install this program"
I AM THE ONLY ADMINISTER!!! And I checked my password which is the same for logging in and it works fine.
PLEAS KEEP READING because it gets weirder:
I am an experienced user so I know how to do all the obvious things first...running Disk utilities to repair permissions and verify the disk. I performed the tasks with no problems.
I use MacJanitor and Cocktail to run maintenance programs that usually resolve issues like this.
MacJanitor crashes every time.
Cocktail asks for my administrator password and when I enter it says that the password is incorrect.
THIS IS WEIRD
Could I have found a virus?
I do not own Disk Warrior, do I need it?
I backed up the drive about a month ago to a FW drive. I booted from the FW back up and all works perfect.
I do not want to reformat the drive and use the back up unless I absolutely have to.

Nothing works. I have a clone of the system on a FW800 drive and it works perfectly. I have been booting from the FW800 to so I can continue to do work.
I used disk utility from both my original install disk and the FW800 that has the same system. I repaired permissions, and verified the disk. Disk utility says there is nothing wrong.
But something major is wrong when a program like cocktail does not recognize my password. What the heck could be causing that?
When I tried printing in Photoshop, it says "the document cannot be printed because there is not enough memory, or RAM.
I a stumped, WHY does it not print ????????
