Dreamweaver Quits OS X
Hi,
I was hoping someone can help me or point me in the right
direction. I have a Mac with OS X 10.4.10 and CS3 web premium.
Everything works fine then, for some reason the next time I try to
open an app it opens the quits. I does this with DW, FL, FW, AI,
PS. Acrobat and Bridge works fine? Anyone have an know why it doing
this? I attempt to fix thus far has failed. I have a complete
reinstall of the OS and CS3. Any help would be great :)
I to am having the same problem. I downloaded the
trial version since I cannot afford it 'til September and
Dreamweaver quits when I open it. Flash trial works fine. DW worked
fine on my g4 powerbook but when the trial expired I downloaded it
to my wife's G3 iBook running 10.4.10. Flash trial works fine on
the iBook but not DW. As I am taking a class at the ROP here I need
the trial version until I can afford the full setup. I have been
unsuccesful in locating the CS2 version hoping it would be
cheaper.

Dreamweaver quitting on Intel Macbook
I've seen somewhere that other people had problems with dreamweaver quitting on an Intel Macbook.
It crashes on launch every time. Any idea which other preference files d/w might use apart from the com.macromedia.dreamweaver.plist?
Got sufficient RAM and already looked at the plist which seems in order. Tried trashing plist to no avail.solved it myself. "showed package contents" on dreamweaver itself and launched via Terminal

"Dreamweaver quit unexpectedly" when I close the DW CC program
Though it doesn't seem to effect anything and my files appear to save as they should, I keep getting the "Dreamweaver quite unexpectedly" error and report when I close the program. This happens the CC version and I think it might have been happening in the CS6 verion prior but I'm not sure. I hate to clog the space here with the entire report but not sure what else I can supply you with as it is everything I have. So it follows. Please help. Thanks.

Dreamweaver quits when before fully starting
I'm running Dreamweaver 8 on a Powerbook G4. Suddenly, when I
click on the DW icon in the dock (or in the Apps folder) it begins
to start up, but stops after a few seconds. It gives me the error
"the application Dreamweaver quit unexpectedly".
I have not changed anything on my laptop that might have
caused this. I'm baffled. Any idea how I can correct this?Dieter@be wrote:when i start bashrun on console, it starts, it shows the terminal window. but before (I think *just* before) it shows the PS1, it aborts, without saying why
Does "abort" mean the terminal window just closes? I can't quite reproduce that exactly, but when I install bashdb and launch bashrun it shows a bashdb prompt on startup:
bashdb<0>
I can then exit bashdb via ^C and use bashrun as usual. It seems that setting extdebug in the --rcfile (/usr/share/bashrun/bashrc) will enter the debugger on bash startup. A quick and dirty fix seems to be:
In /usr/share/bashrun/bashrc:
remove or comment line 274 (shopt -s extdebug)
and add the command to the PROMPT_COMMAND in line 260:
PROMPT_COMMAND='shopt -s extdebug; trap DEBUG; bashrun_unmap_window'
I hope this solves your issue. I'll look into this more closely tomorrow.
BTW, It seems that your bashdb doesn't startup properly, since it looks for that dbg-pre.sh script in /usr/local/share/bashdb, while the bashdb package provides it in /usr/share/bashdb/... Not sure what's going on there... afaik the install prefix for bashdb is compiled into the bash binary:
~$> strings /bin/bash | grep bashdb
/usr/share/bashdb/bashdb-main.inc
Your bash seems to look into /usr/local instead:

Dreamweaver Quits when Spry files accessed
I tried to edit the spry tabbed panels css file, Dreamweaver
quit and will not re-open...it starts opening then when it gets to
"Initializing Extension Data" it vanishes. I have removed the spry
updater extension, reinstalled Dreamweaver several times. Last
re-install as soon as I expanded the SpryAssets folder the same
thing happened - Dreamweaver suddenly quit and cannot be reopened.
Any help would be appreciated! Can you please add more info

Dreamweaver quits when opening certian document
I am using iMac 10.5.2 OS: Dreamweaver MX 2004.
When I try to open the page
http://www.mipco.com/win/parat.html
it loads and Dreamweaver quits. Last time I worked with this page
on March 2 and everything was fine. Other pages on the site are
opening fine.
I opened web page in source code, copied all page, opened new
page in Dreamweaver and pasted it. Dreamweaver quits right away.
I have opened bigger size pages in Dreamweaver with no
problem and only this one makes it quit. I went back on Time
Machine to the March 2 and tried to open that version. It makes
Dreamweaver quits too.
There should be something corrupted in the code in this page
and I have no idea how it could get there.
Please help.It started working after restarting computer. Sorry for
bothering. -

Dreamweaver Quits on Launch - NSImageCacheException
Hi,
Have been happily using Dreamweaver CS6 for quite sometime but after a recent restart the app no long launches. Quickly into launch I see this error in the crash report:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSImageCacheException', reason: 'Cannot lock focus on image <NSImage 0x18d8e570 Size={0, 0} Reps=(
"NSCachedImageRep 0x18d8f230 Size={37, 0} ColorSpace=NSCalibratedRGBColorSpace BPS=8 Pixels=37x0 Alpha=YES"
)>, because it is size zero.'
Any help would be appreciared...thanks!
RickHi Sudarshan,
Thanks for the tips. Neither worked for me...I successfully deleted the cache folder and the problem still occurs. (I even tried removing the entire Dreamweaver CS6 folder and the app still quit with the same error.)
Re the screen resolution...I've been using this particular iMac with CS6 without any problems since CS6 was released and have not made any adjustments to the screen resolution since it's install a while back. (Though after your message I did adjust the screen resolution to various settings to see if it would make a difference.)
App stil quits. Thanks though!

p.s. not sure this is Dreamweaver specific as I saw a few Google results showing other apps quitting and showing the same NSImageCacheException error. Other CS6 apps open and close just fine.I actually did but as mentioned in my p.s. I saw this same error in search results related to other apps and thought it might be something not indigenous to Dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver quits unexpectedly when placing images
I'm running Dreamweaver CS 5.5 on Mac OS X 10.6.7. I've been using Dreamweaver for about 11 or 12 years.
I just upgraded hoping this particular glitch would have been corrected. Alas it's not been.
About 30-40% of the time, when I try to insert an image in a page, Dreamweaver will unexpectedly quit as soon as I click "choose" in the dialog box.
This has happened whether I initiate the action via:
keyboard command (opt-cmd-i)
a click on the insert file icon in the application bar
selecting the code hint, "browse", after typing <img src="" in the code
The key seems to be the open/save dialog box. I am running the Default Folder X utility. Disabling it doesn't have an effect on the problem's frequency.
Aside from that, I haven't noticed any correlation with other open apps or other actions.
Because it happens so often, I avoid using the dialog box now to insert images. I just type in the source window. It's slowed down my workflow a bit.
Anyone else have this problem?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.Thanks for your response.
Well, "mastery" is a strong term. I'm pretty competent, though. I manage a couple of dozen websites for my clients and am quite familiar with defining sites, managing my files, and interacting with my servers through DW. I'm fairly good at HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with a little PHP thrown in.
I can drag images from my local files panel onto my web page without crashing. I can target images with the point to file feature (though there's an unrelated DW glitch with the pointer that's being discussed in another forum).
The problem occurs only when I interact with the OS's open/save dialog box.
My MacPro (2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Xeon) is coming up on 3 years old. I think it's my fifth Mac since first using DW a dozen or so years ago.
My box has 11GB of 667MHz memory and about 2.5TB of free disk space on 4 internal disks.
I use separate machines for my Windows testing, so this is strictly a Mac OS production box.
Though I'm sure I could do better, I try to keep everything well-managed and do fairly regular file system checks and PRAM cleanings. I run up-to-date anti-viral software (Norton).
I also keep my system and applications up to snuff with the latest updates.
I often have a good number of other applications open at one time (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Safari, et al), though I've had this same problem when DW is one of only a couple of applications running.
The unexpected quitting problem isn't something I recall happening prior to CS5. As I mentioned, I had hoped the CS5.5 upgrade would correct it.
I believe my current Mac started with CS3 installed, later upgraded to CS4, then to CS5.
Thanks again. -
OT: Dreamweaver quits after ram upgrade
Anyone had this senario before. I upgraded ram from 1gb to
2gb and now
MX04 just keeps quiting on start up, lol.
I haven't done a complete reinstall of the software yet but
any ideas
why this should be happening?
All other software, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, InDesign
appear at
the moment to be uneffected.
Iz a weird, weird world.
Humm I was intending to upgrade to CS4 but I'm awaiting the
trial
version first.
Oh well I guess I go back to other computer for the moment.Hi Alan I have the issue with MX04 so I don't think below
applies,
according to this line:
'The crashes do not occur in Dreamweaver 8 or earlier (Ref.
229536).'
Problem just started after I upgraded the ram from 1gb to
2gb, which
seems odd, but hey I expect anything these days. Some file
within DW I
think may have been affected by the time/date because on
reboot I had a
warning that the computers clock/date was set to March 2001
and may
interfere with some software, even weirder as I only
purchased the
computer last year, so why the clock should go back to 2001 I
don't know.
I'll try a complete reinstall and see if that clears it up,
overwrite
the corrupt file hopefully. It doesn't matter much to be
honest I was on
the verge of upgrading so I can live with it for now.
Thanks for your input.

When I click on the connect botton in the site map window to
upload/download files it starts to connect, says connects and then
Dreamweaver shuts down... I've check the setting and they are the
same as on my old comupter and if I test the server it tells me
Dreamweaver found the server and everythings ok. Any ideas?
I'm running Dreamweaver MX 6.1 on a MacBook Pro OSX
10.4.7Just encountered the same problem with DW6.1 on my new intel

Dreamweaver quits as I try to connect to host
I'm using a Mac Pro. I've copied the software across, and
exported the DW files but when I now try to connect it quits after
contacting the host! Is there something I have maybe missed to
allow the connection or is thsi one of those problems which is now
gonna drive me insaaaane!!!!?
I tried it on the old computer and it connected no problem.
Since posting the mssg above, I tried 1. to create a new site
and did a test connection and it worked, 2. then went to 'edit
site' on the one I'm having probs with and this connected too...!
It's just when I click the 'connects to host' button in the sites
panel that it quits. Does that give any more light on the
situ...???
Thx

Any chance the server is a mapped drive and you need to map
to the
right drive letter or something? -
Dreamweaver quits when updating library item
Sometimes it works fine for a week or so but suddenly it
starts crashing Dreamweaver (CS3) every time I'm updating a library
item throughout a local site. Any ideas why and how to avoid this?
Thanks,
Hanna> I really need to understand why library items crash my
Dreamweaver...
This may not be possible for you right now. At least SSI
would get you
going. But so be it.
Library item updates do not crash my DW. Sorry.
