Dreamweaver Quits when Spry files accessed

I tried to edit the spry tabbed panels css file, Dreamweaver
quit and will not re-open...it starts opening then when it gets to
"Initializing Extension Data" it vanishes. I have removed the spry
updater extension, reinstalled Dreamweaver several times. Last
re-install as soon as I expanded the SpryAssets folder the same
thing happened - Dreamweaver suddenly quit and cannot be reopened.
Any help would be appreciated!

Dreamweaver quits when before fully starting

I'm running Dreamweaver 8 on a Powerbook G4. Suddenly, when I
click on the DW icon in the dock (or in the Apps folder) it begins
to start up, but stops after a few seconds. It gives me the error
"the application Dreamweaver quit unexpectedly".
I have not changed anything on my laptop that might have
caused this. I'm baffled. Any idea how I can correct this?

Does "abort" mean the terminal window just closes? I can't quite reproduce that exactly, but when I install bashdb and launch bashrun it shows a bashdb prompt on startup:
bashdb<0>
I can then exit bashdb via ^C and use bashrun as usual. It seems that setting extdebug in the --rcfile (/usr/share/bashrun/bashrc) will enter the debugger on bash startup. A quick and dirty fix seems to be:
In /usr/share/bashrun/bashrc:
remove or comment line 274 (shopt -s extdebug)
and add the command to the PROMPT_COMMAND in line 260:
PROMPT_COMMAND='shopt -s extdebug; trap DEBUG; bashrun_unmap_window'
I hope this solves your issue. I'll look into this more closely tomorrow.
BTW, It seems that your bashdb doesn't startup properly, since it looks for that dbg-pre.sh script in /usr/local/share/bashdb, while the bashdb package provides it in /usr/share/bashdb/... Not sure what's going on there... afaik the install prefix for bashdb is compiled into the bash binary:
~$> strings /bin/bash | grep bashdb
/usr/share/bashdb/bashdb-main.inc
Your bash seems to look into /usr/local instead:

Flash CS4 (Mac) quits when closing file

Not sure if this is a bug or an oversight or a "feature", but
no apple application quits when you close a document.
On Macs, when a document in a Flash CS3 (or any other mac
app) is being worked on and then closed, the application stays
active (open) in the dock so you can quickly open any other
document. But Flash CS4 (trial) quits when I close my document.
Whats up with that? This is more of a PC functionality that I
really don't like.

Hi Fish,
I also had this problem but soon realized that files now open
in tabs. To close a file without quitting Flash, close the tab --
not the window.

Quicktime quits when opening files (auto-terminate?)

I've been having the strangest bug since upgrading to Lion
9 times out of 10 whenever I try to launch a media file with Quicktime (be it audio or video) the app launches only to suddenly "quitting" imediately. It is not seen in the dock or in the cmd+tab list. If I then re-open that same file suddenly Quicktime will pop out of nowhere with the file already loaded. It's as if Lion's auto-termination is occuring immediately upon opening the file and then when asking quicktime to open again it's using the auto-resume feature to bring my material back.
however this is incredibly annoying. Launching a file and then not knowing if it's actually launched or not then having to go back and re-open it again all the time is becoming a serious pain.
anyone else experiencing a similar problem or know of a solution?

For what it's worth, my experience of Keynote crashing has been when the file I'm opening contains a video file, and usually a large size QT at that. It only seemed to happen if I opened the file by double clicking on it's icon. If I had Keynote open, and hit +O, or opened the file by navigating File>Open, it was fine.

Crashing / Unexpectedly quitting when attaching files etc.

I have this query posted in a couple of different places but some developments in my own investigation have led me to post it again.
Initially, I noticed I could no longer attach files in yahoo mail. Until tuesday this week, I have always been able to. Then I realised I couldn't attach them to skype of send them through yahoo messenger. When trying to attch files, the 'browse' page comes up, I select the file, the computer thinks for a moment then kicks me out of the software - 'safari unexpectedly quit'
Then I noticed spotlight has stopped working.
Through advice from posting bits of this in various places, I have run repair disc, disc permission, printed off log on console, tried to start spotlight again by using a command in terminal.
Nothing has made the slightest bit of difference.
However, I've just been fiddling with folders in finder - if i go to view and then 'arrange icons as columns' (incidentally, how the browse thing organises them when attching files) and then if I try to open a file, the computer can't cope - console tells me 'Finder crashed'
mds apparently crashes every few minutes and that is also what it says when safari quits.
I updated software last week - I keep up to date so it was only itunes and 2 'powerPC (???)' things but ever since then, it hasn't worked.
The only other thing I've done recently is to have contacted Netgear to reset my router and setup new WEP key for my wireless connection as I had lost the password but I can't see that that would have made any difference.
Please help someone - I'm getting desperate as I rely on being able to attch files as part of my job.

Can't checkin with server named com.apple.metadata.mdserver, error 0xfffffecc

Next time to find out exactly what you installed System preferences->Sotware Update Installed Software ->Show as Log button on the bottom.
To find out why Safari is crashing posting the latest & entire safari crash log is a great troubleshooting tool which we never did get to because the
metadata was crashing as well & now so was the finder I read. So something was askew with the os software, missing files not proper installation of the os. Third party software incompatibly.
A myriad of things could of gone wrong hard to know, I understand you wanting to know, it would be a good way to avoid this from happening again.

Dreamweaver quits when opening certian document

I am using iMac 10.5.2 OS: Dreamweaver MX 2004.
When I try to open the page

it loads and Dreamweaver quits. Last time I worked with this page
on March 2 and everything was fine. Other pages on the site are
opening fine.
I opened web page in source code, copied all page, opened new
page in Dreamweaver and pasted it. Dreamweaver quits right away.
I have opened bigger size pages in Dreamweaver with no
problem and only this one makes it quit. I went back on Time
Machine to the March 2 and tried to open that version. It makes
Dreamweaver quits too.
There should be something corrupted in the code in this page
and I have no idea how it could get there.
Please help.

Keynote Quits When Opening Files

Keynote 09 is doing some bizarre things - most seem to have started when KN disappeared from my computer and I reinstalled it. I have read through the various threads where opening files causes KN to crash, and the workarounds did not seem to clear up the problem.
I was able to open the files that crash on another Mac running KN09 with no problem, saved the file with a different name, and then could open it in my MBP with no problem. However, I then was unable to open another presentation that now causes the same behavior. So out of the 4 presentations I have done recently, 2 have failed to open, with one cured after opening/saving in another Mac.
I hate to think I have to go through this process each time a file decides it won't open, and there seems to be no way to tell when it will happen. A very unreliable situation that obviously can't be left alone, as I have courses to teach and if I can't rely on the files to open I might as well not bother with KN.
I am also amazed at the various suggestions that cause people to jump through hoops in the hopes of getting programs to work. It's not like these are 3rd party programs - if Apple can't get their own software to work on Apple's - well, that doesn't bode well for the rest f us who use these things, now does it?

it says i have to assign a root file whenever i open dw up however when i do it comes up with the mac finder but then dw quits and crashes??

Finder quits when try to access windows share

Hi all,
One of our G5 with 10.4.4, have a typical trouble.When the user try to access a windows server share, the finder quits.All other users with G5, 10.4.4 has no troubles with accessing the same server.I created a test account with the particular user who has the trouble, and it works fine with the windows server. Any one has an input to this?

I am having problems with dreamweaver when I update the

I have restarted, downloaded the update and I am still ahving

ITunes unexpectedly quits when trying to access the store

Every time i try to get on to the store to buy songs my iTunes quits.i get a message that says " The application iTunes quit unexpectedly" It never did that before. I can play my music and videos just fine but i cant access the store.. it happens on my iphone too. i cant access iTunes on my iPhone. i have all the latest downloads and all my software has been updated.. according to my computer.
can someone help me?

Dreamweaver quits when updating library item

Sometimes it works fine for a week or so but suddenly it
starts crashing Dreamweaver (CS3) every time I'm updating a library
item throughout a local site. Any ideas why and how to avoid this?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, or things don't load/run, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.

Dreamweaver Quits OS X

Hi,
I was hoping someone can help me or point me in the right
direction. I have a Mac with OS X 10.4.10 and CS3 web premium.
Everything works fine then, for some reason the next time I try to
open an app it opens the quits. I does this with DW, FL, FW, AI,
PS. Acrobat and Bridge works fine? Anyone have an know why it doing
this? I attempt to fix thus far has failed. I have a complete
reinstall of the OS and CS3. Any help would be great :)

I to am having the same problem. I downloaded the
trial version since I cannot afford it 'til September and
Dreamweaver quits when I open it. Flash trial works fine. DW worked
fine on my g4 powerbook but when the trial expired I downloaded it
to my wife's G3 iBook running 10.4.10. Flash trial works fine on
the iBook but not DW. As I am taking a class at the ROP here I need
the trial version until I can afford the full setup. I have been
unsuccesful in locating the CS2 version hoping it would be
cheaper.
