Dreamweaver runs once on mac and never again

I have an intel macbook running 10.4.10
I can install DW CS3 and have it run fine once
On subsequent attempts to start it, it craps out while the
splash screen says "initializing files"
I thought that this was conflict with other adobe
applications but I took them all off my computer and am using skim
to read pdfs

I would suggest you check the entire launch in JaNeLA. If fixing whatever errors it reports does not fix the problem, post your JNLP file(s) here (complete, not snippets).

On reflection, it seems much easier/safer to do something like this instead...
When running in Arch, but viewing a partition with another installation's data on it, do directory listings like this:
ls -l | FILTER
where FILTER is a script that pulls out the Arch-announced users and groups, converts them to numeric if necessary (according to Arch's understanding), and then stuffs back in what the other installation thinks are the symbols corresponding to those numbers. This was easy enough to do, and doesn't risk breaking anything.
Marking as SOLVED, but I'd still welcome feedback about the different ways different distributions understand the groups I cited. It's very hard to track this info down.

Make sure you addressing the message to her phone number and not her email address, or on her phone go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and make sure her email address is listed under "You can be reached by iMessage at".

There's no need to go to the store if you don't want to. You can purchase and download the new version from the Parallels web site. In fact if you want to try it out, I believe you can do the download and get a two week trial version. Later you can purchase the serial number to make it official.
I cannot be certain about your data, but I did not lose anything when I updated to Lion and faced a similar situation.

It sounds like at this point your phone will not turn on. I would like to recommend the troubleshooting from this article named:

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

PC to Mac and back again Microsoft word file question

I am thinking of purchasing a Mac for home. I use Microsoft Word at work. Would it be possible to email Word documents from my work PC to my Mac at home, work on them with Word for Mac then send them back to my work PC? Is there a simple save as the needed file format or something?

MS has just released Office 2008 X for the Mac. It is fully compatible with Office for Windows so you should have no problems exchanging files.
Because you are in a business environment and working on a network check with your system administrator to be sure they are able to seamlessly network between Macs and PCs. You will also need to verify that your network printer(s) are supported in the Mac OS. This document lists all the printers currently supported in OS X. If your printer(s) is/are not on the list, then check with the manufacturers' support site to see if an OS X compatible driver is available. Without a compatible printer driver you would not be able to print to your network printer(s).

Splash screen show only once and never again

I have the followign line in jnlp file:

The images are in the root directory of the app.
When download link is clicked on the web page, I saw the splash screen come up only once. It never shows again. Application downloads and creates an icon on desktop. The desktop icon was not showing up but started showing, I don't know how. But the splash screen never shows. Any ideas?

Help!! Logged unto Itunes once and never again. What am I doing wrong?

I have tried everything I can think of. No firewall, checked cookies, anything else you can help me with?

Double click on the home button to bring up the Multitaksing list.
Then slide the App screen shot up and off the screen.
There will be no no confirmation, it will simply close.

I built my first webpage in iWeb, and when I tried to access the video page on my work pc running windows, it wanted to load in Quicktime (which is not configured to run wmv files on this machine). How do I set up the video on this page to run in Windows Media Player when loaded on a windows machine?
