  • Images in scroll boxes

HI, I have notice when you create a scroll box the text has
to be dynamic and not static which means all of the text properties
remain the same when you try to alter them. Is there a way to use
different fonts, sizes, etc in a scroll box field. I would like to
learn how to incorperate graphics in this scrollable field. Help

    Hi
Yeah, this is difficult due to Flash's method of rendering
the text and images, even with the html enabled text is generally
one size, one colour and one font. Images can be rendered but they
cant be positioned nor can text wrap around very effectively.
Read the Flash Help(F1) for more on info importing images
    into a TextArea Component.

  • How do you scroll box images and text?

Can someone, please, explain to me how to create a Scrallable Image box? I have a group of images for a gallery. I would like the viewer to scroll through them normally (old school style) with the scroll bars.
I need to know how to do it in Flash 8
    Thanks in advance

I search EVERYWHERE for help and got none. I post here and continue searching. I then run across this site and it does the trick:
    http://www.developingwebs.net/flash/mx_scrollingtextboxes.php
There is just one little problem. I also need to place buttons in the scroll box along with the images.
The idea is that you click the thumbnail images (held within the scrollbox) and up top the large view pops in (Directs to a keyframe).
I place the buttons into a Movie Clip but the Scroll Path refuses to acknowledge the movie clicp. Instead it looks for something on my C drive. I've tried saving the Buttons as a stand alone SWF, and they do show up in the main SWF file's scroll box, but they don't do anything.
PS: Thanks for the help and quick responce.

  • 20 inch Duo Safari scroll box drag related jumbled display rectangles

    Hi,
I was an early poster regarding the speed bump issue.
There is a related issue I've seen infrequently, maybe a few
    times a day.
I've found if I scroll in Safari by slowly dragging the scroll box,
I'll intermittently see a region of jumbled copy rectangles
below and to the right of where
the speed bump appears. I sometimes drag slowly because it
lessens the speed bump effect. As noted in other threads, using
the scroll button on my Mighty Mouse has neither of these problems,
though (to my eyes) the scrolling is not quite as smooth
as when I drag the scroll box.
Now the unfortunate thing about this case is that when you stop
scrolling the display remains jumbled/corrupted, unlike the speed
bump case. I tried to shoot a screen image of this via, ShiftOption4,
but as I dragged the mouse the highlighting of the region "fixed" the
    display refresh.
    Anyone else see this?

Nope. My iMac does not do that. Sorry to hear that you are having a problem . Did you try repairing permissions or running the Apple Hardware Test? This could tell you if it is a software or hardware problem.

    Hi daves,
I've checked your account using the email address/Adobe ID that you use here in the forums, and I don't see any registered products. Is it possible that you registered InDesign under a different Adobe ID?
That said, you might find this document useful: Find your serial number quickly. And you're welcome to Contact Customer Care again; if you did register under a different Adobe ID, they may be able to help you track that down.

  • Scroll boxes just simply aren't working

I'm brand-new to CSS and DW but am starting to get the
general understanding of how things work. one problem i'm having
though is scroll boxes. I open a new HTML document and i create a
scroll box. I've done it with several different code variations. No
matter what when i switch to the design view there is no scrolling
    possible. Please help.
    i've used this thus far.

You can't scroll in Design view. That's a static
    representation of the
page. You would have to preview the page to see the scrolling
    happen.

  • HELP! Missing Scroll Box

    Hi everyone.
I hope someone can help because this is giving me big problems!
    Im using Windows 98.
When I use MS -DOS command Prompt on my PC there is no vertical scroll bar.
Im getting big errors and cant debug my program because i cant scroll up!
To top it off, I cant run my program on my university PC (which has scroll bars!)because it uses JDBC and they have restrictions on it!
Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get a scroll box on my MS-DOS prompt command Prompt???
Id really appreciate any help here
    thanks,

I don't think win98 can do what you want.
It might be easier to (when needing the scroll) run your program through an IDE that 'captures' the output,
the output is displayed in a scrollable viewing area at the bottom of the IDE.
Gel http://www.gexperts.com/ only outputs as above
JCreator http://www.jcreator.com/ outputs to both - there is an option to 'capture output'
    both are free

  • Firefox condenses eBay description into scroll box; cannot easily read auction descriptions on page

Since yesterday, Firefox condensed my eBay auction listing descriptions into a tiny scroll box. It's almost impossible to read my items' descriptions ( line by line, ha ! )
    Pages look OK in IE8.
Why is this happenning, and what bug is it, how to fix ??

I'm not being a smart alec, but... have you ever had a lengthy conversation with an copyright attorney... about what they do?
I know two personally. One because we went to school together decades ago, and the other because he is on retainer for a client of mine.
What you see in the terms of use (End User License Agreement) IS the revised version... I've never seen the FULL thing, but I'd assume it could hold it's own with the Affordable Care Act, in three areas:
    1. The overall number of pages.... necessary or unnecessary.
    2. The amount of sense it would make to the average person.
    3. The number of people in the world who have actually read it.
I've read nearly all of the license agreements for every product I own from Adobe. Mostly because I have to answer questions about things like Norton, McAfee and Google Chrome being bundled and people say they never agreed to it... Well, by installing anything downloaded from here... they did.
BTW. You can'T install ANY legal, legitimate software from ANY company at all without agreeing to terms of use.
Here's where I will be a smart alec... If you have a problem with that... then you need to stop using computers immediately and permanently, or you're going to have a stroke from the self inflicted stress.

  • Is there a scroll box option in Captivate 7?

I would like to a small text box (10% of the screen) on one of my slides that contains a lot of text.  I would like the user to be able to scroll through the text and for only three or four lines to be visible at a time.  Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance!

Captivate 7 has an interaction that will meet your needs (works for SWF and HTML5 output)

  • Horizontal Scroll Box in Adobe Edge

    Hello!
I am very new to html and css coding. I've been teaching myself adobe edge animate to build a website from scratch since it is very similar to After Effects, a program i am comfortable with.
I was wondering how would i go about making a horizontal scroll container that would house image files.
    Here is an example: http://golfwang.com/fall-winter-2013-lookbook/
This site translates very well to mobile as well, you can swipe with your fingers in either direction to get the box to scroll. Thank you in advance for any input on the subject.

    Thank you Zaxist.
I actually ended up using your post from this thread to solve my problem: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1144336
I just did everything you said, i took all my pictures and made them a symbol followed by changing the overflow size and setting it to auto.
The only problem im getting now is it wont switch to the custom scroll bar. Does it specifically only work with Text? Like i said before, i have no knowledge of html or css, i just barely understand the concepts and where to drop in my div tags, etc.

  • Scrolling boxes within the website?

I'm not sure how to explain this, so hopefully you get what I'm trying to ask.
I recently borrowed an iPad to figure out if it was worth the investment. If it was just for me, its shortcoming wouldn't matter.
But my girlfriend is going to use it for work. This is another coversation, so I'll get to my problem.
If I go to a page with a scrollable box, I can't scroll in the box. Is it because it's flash based or something?
Example; My girlfriend goes to check the yoga schedule at her studio, she can't scroll the box with the schedules.
So she only sees the schedule 6am to 12pm. It seems frozen.
A few other important sites reveal similar issues with the iPad.
I've tries two finger scrolling, didn't work.
I know there is an app that enables you to browse flash via a cloud or something. Would this solve the scrolling issue?

I am unable to scroll within that box in any browser. I don't think it is a Flash issue but. You can access all of the links that you can see and all of that content is visible. For whatever reasons, the site appears to not be totally compatible with the iPad. I tried the site with the iCab browser as well. iPad 1 or 2 does not matter. Mine is the original iPad. I know of no app that would allow you to access the content that you cannot scroll down to within that box other than a remote app that allows you to use your PC or Mac remotely. Those apps are available but I don't think that is what you have in mind.
Good luck with the "other conversation" no matter what happens with this web site issue.

  • Scrolling Box on MacBook Pro

My MacBook Pro just started displaying a small blue box with dots in it.  It scrolls across the screen from right to left repeatedly.  I restarted the computer and after I logged on it continued the scrolling.  Not sure how to stop it.  Any ideas?

Is it anything that you can post a screen shot of? Because I've never seen or heard about anything like that...

    Heya,
For iPhone detection take a look at _this recent thread_ which shows how to detect iPhone visitors that are viewing your page and redirect them to an iPhone-friendly page.
The wonderful script was written by Chris Bailey and I have made some very slight modifications to the script in order to make it validate under HTML 4.01 transitional doctype standards set forth by the w3 consortium.
If you view my homepage from an iPhone you will see the script in action which redirects you to an iPhone-intended page. My homepage is available through my Apple Discussions profile just click on my alias to see my profile and listed homepage. I may receive compensation from my recommendation.
Also keep in mind that using the search feature for Apple Discussions is very useful. For instance searching for the term iframe restricted to the iWeb forum sends you to many threads relating to the term which you inquired about earlier in this thread. Try it out! The search box is located at the top right of the discussions page (not the very top that's part of the navigation bar but just under that) the box that says "search discussions". If you type iframe in there you can surely find an iframe code. Perhaps in the future you can use the search feature to find additional inquires without having to ask in the forum and wait for a repeated reply.

  • Dreamweaver dialog boxes

Running a dual monitor setup with dreamweaver cs5 and the dialog boxes refuse to stay in the last place they were placed (or at the least stay on the monitor dreamweaver is in).
For example my dreamweaver runs on my right monitor and I go to select recently modified files, the dialog box for recently modified files options appears on the left monitor every single time. Is there a way to fix this or force dreamweaver to only use the right monitor?
Seems like a bug or a bad oversight. It is annoying having to go to the left monitor when I don't use that for dreamweaver...

I'm having the same issue.  My primary monitor is my right one but I keep DW open on the left monitor.  I've written several extensions that we used in CS3 that worked fine but now they always open on the wrong monitor.  Is this just a bug we have to deal with until Adobe comes out with a solution or does anyone know of a workaround?

  • Dreamweaver 'White Box' Issue

    Hi guys
First time I've been here, and hopefully the first of many.
I'm really enthusiastic about learning web design and I'm starting
with creating my own company's website...
Trouble is I have annoying white boxes everywhere...I've
brought the file over from Photoshop to ImageReady and then into
Dreamweaver and I'm adding links, but as I add them it adds these
    white blank areas.
Forgive my lack of knowledge, could someone please tell me
    what I'm doing wrong?
    Here's the link:
    http://www.honeyandthemoon.co.uk/index.html
And some code (I have no idea about code, so if you could
please speak as simply to me as possible I would really appreciate
    it):
    Thanks, Steve.

First let me say that Dreamweaver will be a huge slog for you
    if you don't
take the time to familiarize yourself with HTML and CSS. The
    more you know
about these two, the easier learning Dreamweaver will be.
Second, I want to caution you about using *any* graphics
    application to
write your HTML. The code produced by this method is just
    unacceptable for
anything other than prototyping use. It's 'fragile' in the
    sense that your
layout can fall completely apart as you add 'real-world
    content' to the
pages. This happens because of the way that the HTML
    'wizards' build the
page from your graphics files. To see how a best-practice use
    of these
graphics layouts might lead to a stable HTML page, follow
    this tutorial -
Taking a Fireworks comp to a CSS-based layout in Dreamweaver
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/web_standards_layouts_pt1.html
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/web_standards_layouts_pt2.html
Finally, the border you are seeing around your images is
    normal. It's also
easy to get rid of by using this little CSS rule in your
    stylesheet -
    a img { border:none; }
