Dreamweaver support

I just got off the phone with the adobe tech support line.
This may have been my 3rd call. He said this is the last time we
will accept your call. Can you imagine that?! I just bought this
whole dreamweaver macromedia 8 suite in July. Each time I called
they couldn't solve my problem anyway.
I am very mad!
But I'm thankful for this forum.
Will I be expired from this soon too?

Did you pay for the support? If you were paying and got that
response and I were in your shoes I would get back on the phone and
ask for a supervisor.
If you did not pay for support this is what happens.
Now that you have said what happened, what is the problem you
are having that can't be fixed?

  • Does dreamweaver support APNG's?

Im doing a site specifically to work in firefox which does have native apng support, i was wondering if dreamweaver supported or if it was even relevant that it should.

I had never heard of APNG, so I looked it up on Wikipedia, where I found an example of a bouncing beach ball. I saved the file to my local disk, and tried inserting it in a test page. The first time, it didn't work. After some investigation, it appears that the file must have been corrupted on download, because everything worked just fine with a second download.
Dreamweaver CS5 treats APNG files like ordinary PNG files. You get no animation in Live View, because WekKit doesn't support the animated features. But if you preview the page in Firefox or Opera, you get the animation as expected.

  • Does Dreamweaver Support AJAX?

We've been using DevExpress to do some of the AJAX programming on our websites Bubble Soccer and Aqua Arm but we're looking to use Dreamweaver on the HTML stuff. Does Dreamweaver support AJAX markup? Both our websites have the same stack.

Ajax is JavaScript.  So yes, DW supports Ajax.

  • Dreamweaver support not available

I have Dreamweaver suite CS3 and after a computer crash I cannot get it activated.  Adobe does not offer phone support and I've been on their site for hours and cannot find a solution

See if anything here helps: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
If not, I would run the cleaner tool and reinstall: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

  • Does Dreamweaver support Html 5

Is it possible to code in Html5 in Dreamweaver.

If you have the coding skills, you can use any version of DW to code an HTML5 document.
    http://coding.smashingmagazine.com/2009/08/04/designing-a-html-5-layout-from-scratch/
Keep in mind that HTML5 is still a work in progress.
To measure how well your browser(s) support HTML5, visit this site:
    http://html5test.com/
To support legacy browsers like IE6 & 7, you will need to include the HTML5 shiv JavaScript in your HTML5 docs:

  • Dreamweaver support for SourceSafe

Dreamweaver 8 supports using SourceSafe for source control,
and for some seemingly bizarre reason only SourceSafe.
Could someone from Adobe comment on how this is implemented?
The reason I ask is the easiest way to make an application
use SourceSafe is to make it call into the Microsoft SCC API. The
(huge) benefit of this is that many other source control products
    support this API, and
could be used with Dreamweaver. But for some reason DW8
seems to be tied directly to SourceSafe.
I'm looking for some way to "fool" DW into thinking it is
talking to SourceSafe so that I can use different source control
product. I've changed the registry values for
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SourceSafe\SCCServerPath and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SourceSafe\SCCServerName but
DW must be using some other means of opening SourceSafe because I
still get an error stating SourceSafe can't be found.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for being open to suggestions, Randy. That says a lot.
The ability to write DW extensions does appear to provide the
framework for any source control provider to write an integration
for Dreamweaver. But at the same time it requires each of them to
implement... basically the same functionality... independently
    themselves.
The MS SCC API is as close to a standard source control
interface as exists. If the dll provided with Dreamweaver,
ssPlugin.dll, were to read the value of
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider, open the
registry key its value points to and loaded the .dll listed there
it could then make source control calls into it according to the
SCC API AND immediately support just about every major source
    control provider on the market..
For SourceSafe the registry keys in question would look like:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider]
    "ProviderRegKey"="Software\\Microsoft\\SourceSafe"
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SourceSafe]
    "SCCServerName"="Microsoft Visual SourceSafe"
    "SCCServerPath"="C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual
    SourceSafe\\ssscc.dll"
So in this case DW would make SCC API calls into ssscc.dll.
If you went one step further and started with
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders
and presented the user with the list of providers contained
therein, they would be able to select their source control provider
from whatever they have on their system on a project by project
    basis.
The difference comes down to Dreamweaver being able to work
with virtually any source control system right out of the box, or
individual users having to choose a source control system based on
whether or not the manufacturer has written an extension, or being
out of luck entirely because their company has already standardized
on an SCM and there isn't an extension available.
If this is something you are interested in providing to
Dreamweaver users, I'd be happy to help out in any way I can.

  • Dreamweaver support for Sharepoint templates

I'm trying to edit an existing Sharepoint (bootstrap) template in Dreamweaver.
while editing the sharepoint template I don't get to see the result in the website, because Dreamweaver seems to make a .temp file of the original template, which doesn't show in the website. I already turned off the option preview temp file in browser. But this doesn't resolve my problem.
When opening the original page in Dreamwaever, the programm seems to generate additional white-spaces all over the page. Is there a possibilty to get rid of this whitespacing?
This also seems to disturb the page to be shown in the browser

Maybe this will help http://blogs.technet.com/b/speschka/archive/2012/07/27/using-dreamweaver-and-design-manage r-with-sharepoint-2013.aspx

  • I would like to put Dreamweaver 8 on a new computer.  There is no "deactivate" function and the technical support person I chatted with recommended I come here.  Can I just use the serial number again?  How can I deactive?  Has anyone else run into this?

There is no "deactivate" function and the technical support person I chatted with recommended I come here.  Can I just use the serial number again?  How can I deactive?  Has anyone else run into this?  How can I get Dreamweaver 8, which is no longer being activated by Adobe, on a new computer?  Is it even worth doing or do I need to get a new version.  What are the killer features I'm missing?

If you manage to get it installed on your current OS, don't forget to install the 8.02 update.

That's because PHP is normally used embedded in HTML.
    Dreamweaver
doesn't know where you want your PHP tags. However, the
    Insert bar will
    insert them for you.

Press Ctrl+Space in a PHP code block to get code hints for
    more than
    2,000 PHP functions.
    > So dreamweaver nuts with php or what ?
Dreamweaver supports a lot of PHP. It also has a basic suite
    of server
behaviors that automate such things as user authentication,
    insert,
    update, delete, and select records.

  • How do you disable the IE8 ActiveX warning when previewing HTML files created in Dreamweaver?

    All,
I'm trying to find a workaround to disable an annoying warning message in Internet Explorer 8 (IE8).
Explorer generates a security warning if you open a local file (i.e. one stored on your local hard drive and not the server) that contains scirpts or ActiveX controls (including JavaScript).  Button actions such as opening a PDF work but the rollovers will not.  Everything works fine if the user clicks on the warning banner, clicks "allow content", and then clicks "Yes".  Since this file and content may be distributed to many people to run on their local systems, it would be better if they didn't have to perform these three clicks or modify their browser security settiings.
Previous versions of Dreamweaver supported a command called "Insert Mark of the Web" which inserted the following line of code:
        <!-- saved from url=(0014)about:internet -->)
Adobe removed this command, so the line of code must now be inserted manually.  I've tried inserting it in various lines of the HTML code, but doing so results in the same problem: the rollovers work, but the button actions do not.
Does anyone know of another work around?
    Thanks,
    Garrett

    Please help.
    Ann Maybury  [email protected]

    Hi Ann,
VisualSVN Server does not require you to install any additional applications I mean that you don't need to install WAMP unless you use it for website testing, that's up to you.
Installing VisualSVN Server and setting Dreamweaver to access it's repositories is actually a task of a couple of clicks. However you need to check wheter you use correct URLs and/or created a user account with access to the repository.
    * What is the exact URL you enter in Adobe Dreamweaver? You can use the Copy URL context menu command in the VisualSVN Server management console to get the correct URL of your repository(ies).
    * Make sure you created a SVN user account and use the correct password.
Basically I advise you to double-check the Getting Started guide at http://www.visualsvn.com/server/getting-started/
NOTE: Subversion repositories can be contacted locally via 'file://' protocol. I don't remember whether Adobe Dreamweaver supports this access method, though. However it definitely should. If you are the only developer who is going to work with Subversion repsitories you can set Dreamweaver to access a repository using such URI: file:///D:\repository (make sure you use correct path to a repository). However with such method you don't have any authorization and you can't allow remote users to access the repository.

  • Dreamweaver CC and Windows 8.1 - Can't Find A Valid Editor For This File Extension

Was running the latest version with no issues and then I loaded Office 2013 .. Now when I am in the remote site and try to double click on a .cfm file, I get a dialog box..Can't Find A Valid Editor For This File Extension..
I tried the support chat and they said Dreamweaver support was not available, try again later???
So I thought I would reinstall the CC version and now I can see the Dreamweaver icon next to the files but still ... can't open the file..
    Any assistance would be appreciated?
    Leo

The issue is only in Windows 8.x where when Dreamweaver CC is installed, it is not able to turn on the file type associations by default.  The workaround for now is to manually add the extensions both within Windows and then within Dreamweaver CC itself.
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Your Default Programs and select Dreamweaver CC and then select 'Choose defaults for this program' and Select All or the extensions you want to open in Dreamweaver CC
Start Dreamweaver CC and go to Edit > Preferences > File Types/Editors and add '.cfm .cfc' to the extensions and then add C:\Program Files (x86)\Dreamweaver CC\Dreamweaver.exe then click on Apply and Close
    That should be it.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 crashes after Mac OSX 10.9.3 update.

Updated today to Dreamweaver CC, and the issue persists. My 'local' files are stored on a Windows Vista server on the LAN.
Everything worked OK until 2 days ago, so I'm almost sure the issue is related to the OS update.
I can open a file, work on it for a while, and after a few minutes, Dreamweaver  'hangs' and can take up to 10 minutes to be responsive again.
