Dreamweaver trims the tracing image

Hi
im using DW cs4 on a mac
I have a problem showing full trace image.
I exported trace image of my design as jpg, and in DW I want to use it as a reference. The problem is that the image originally is 2000px hight and in DW I see only helf of it's height.
This problem has nothing to do with the content and image formats as I tested those issues.
Any help?

I'm not quite sure because I've never tried to preview an image that large in Design View with DW. Does it appear that way in Live View as well? I'm thinking it is possibly a limitation of Design View that was just never conceived. You may want to file this as a bug report/feature request:

Can't fill Color's in the Traced Image

I have this image, of julie, what I did was that I copy and paste the image, then I made a new layer 2, I locked the first layer 1, and on the second layer where there is eye I pressed the ctrl+click on it to go to outline mode. Earser on traced image

Hi,
I got an Illustrator Trial to see how well it works for inking scanned drawings. I watched a few online lessons and already stumbled into a problem that I can't seem to solve, so any help would be appreciated.
I'm using a non-english version so I hope my translations of the actions are not to confusing.
I imported the scanned image to illustrator and then used object->image tracer and converted it to a vector graphic with area fill and no stroke. So far so good.
I now want to erase little mistakes in the drawing, that look like this
if I use the eraser, this happens:
so the path is weirdly bend around the stroke of the eraser, which obviously isn't what I wanted to achieve. In all the videos I watched about the eraser, it worked fine and if I just create an area with the blob brush and erase a part of that, that works fine as well. What's so different with the traced image?

yes that kinda works but I think that would be too much work for that many details. Also it somehow leaves behind another path:
So.. maybe somethings wrong with the way i convert the traced image?

Is there a way to LIST OUT all of the active images that are currently being used on a page in Dreamweaver? Or do I have to click each one and write down the image name by hand?

Here are 2 ways to "start over":
1. remove all photos (or all extraneous photos anyway) from existing catalog (e.g. all photos collection, ctrl/cmd-a, then delete key).
2. create a new catalog (see file menu).
It sounds like #2 would be best for you, so you don't have extraneous keywords in your catalog etc.

Dreamweaver CS4- I can't get my site to display the proper image.

I have a Dreamweaver CS4 Template with an editable area for a header image. I have already assigned a new image to all the header regions but when I moved the site to the web host the pages will only display the Default header image from the template in the editable region, even though when I check the file name in the Modify Templates window it displays the proper name, but displays the wrong image.
What is wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using tracing image, then replacing with background image

I am very new to Dreamweaver, and am trying to put together a very simple site.
I am using a tracing image for the layout table mode – and am tracing it exactly. However, when I out put it to test in my browser,
nothing lines up how it shows in my work environment.
Am i missing something "very" obvious? Thanks.

1) Don't ever use table layout mode. It's a terrible way to build web pages.
2) No matter how hard you try, you can't make stuff stick to a big background image. It's like trying to nail Jell-O to a wall.

After reopening dreamweaver files, the table and its contents are not shown in design view

I got a problem with deisgn view which has stucked me for the whole week. I've designed a webpage with dreamweaver CS4. After reopening this webpage, I got problem to see the tables and images inserted in dreamweaver (the sliced images from fireworks works well). Somehow this problem only existed in design view, but NOT is browswer view/ live view. I thought it is the setting problem, but I tried to reopen the webpage I designed earlier... got no problem in either design or live view. I also tried starting over another new file, same problem existed (tables/images do not show in design view) I am really confused. Any thoughts?
I've already done my research everywhere, but cannot find solution.

Have you selected an image?
Unless a good explanation appears, you may start onthe list below.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Saving each image as different size - is it an option for you? I would save images with their name as: 20x30.png, 16x20.png etc etc.
Or explain whether you want these in a webpage in which case only one image is necessary and different sizes are displayed with good CSS code. this is question for Dreamweaver forum if this is what you want.

Problems with the background image in IE

Hi I've been optimizing some pages for the different browsers in Dreamweaver CS4. They all work fine in Safari, Firefox and Opera, Internet Explorer is, however not showing the background image I have selected. I can't for the life of me see what's going wrong! Any help wopuld be appreciated. here is the code on my index page which I built from a template. I don't know if it's the editable areas that are going wrong!

The fact you are using a Mac is why both myself and JCellini assumed you where using a pre IE7 version.
But the code you are using to test in IE will cause a problem with any 'virtual machine' such as crossover, because it cannot reference anything outside its own assigned section of the drive, and referencing the png in the way you are would be for it an invalid reference, it also would not work in any browser when you uploaded the site.
Change - background-image:url(file:///Macintosh HD/Users/myname/Documents/websites/test/Test/images/test_back.png);
To - background-image:url(images/test_back.png);
But if the region is not editable I would suggest you temporarily make it so, externalize your css to a css file, insert a link to the external css file in your head content, then lock the region once again. This way you will always be able to edit your css without worrying about 'locked regions'.

The Case of the Missing Image

This page is a very simple HTML page which displays two
things: a "< GO BACK" link, which is visible and working
properly, and one jpg image (file name: wcid#2.jpg) which is not
visible.
I would love to know what is going on here.
Both the html page, and the lone image are in place on the
remote server; however, when I test the page on my testing server
it comes up blank as it does from the browser when online. I've
tried pop-up windows, a download to a pdf version of the .jpg....IT
IS ALWAYS BLANK. Moreover, I have purged the entire site and put it
back...dumped the html file and completely rebuilt it...tried
opening the pdf file and jpg file in Photoshop and Acrobat, where
the image always comes up. In Photoshop, I flattened the layers.
The image shows up in Dreamweaver, but fails to appear in a
preview (using Firefox and Safari), and fails to appear on the
Internet.
I included the source code for this link in the event anyone
can see a problem. The first source code appears on the page which
links to the page in question. The second source code is the code
from the page with the missing image.

Why aren't my CSS and div tag boxes displaying the background images I'm plugging in?

I'm using the CSS dialog boxes to places images via the background image option into my dreamweaver site. Everything looks fine in dreamweaver but when I view it any of the browsers, two of the images I've place as div tag background images don't work....the overal background image of the site works, but these don't show up ....

Your image files are pointing to your hard drive, not your server. You have this
background-image: url(file:///Macintosh%20HD/Users/jimmymoreira/Unnamed%20Site%204/imag es/opaqueMaincontent.png);
and you should have this
background-image: url(imag es/opaqueMaincontent.png);
Also, is your images file named imag es?

How to add fury trim around an image

What i want to do is add Fur around the outer edges of an image. Frame the image with fur and have the corners with a natural transition. I am working on a Poster for a Pimp/Ho Party and i want to trim the image with "PIMP" fur. Does anyone know of any tut's for this type of thing?

The poor choice of theme aside You might want to experiment with the Brushes.
Attached are screenshots for settings of a simple elliptical Brush that may be useful, even better would be to create a custom Brush Preset of one »hair« – though the result will not be »realistic«.
