Dreamweaver + Twitter + Facebook & Social Media

Greetings!
I am currently putting together a "Social Media Dashboard" in a similar vein to what NPR has done (but on a smaller scale). Here is a link to NPR's work: http://www.npr.org/templates/community/
I have customized a Twitter widget and Facebook plug-in for the page but, ahhhhhh, I can't get Dreamweaver to align the widgets. Ideally, I would like the Facebook and Twitter widget side by side but can only get them to appear on the page under each other. Here is a link to the page (not public). http://www.circle.org/?page=socialmedia.
I am somewhat new to Dreamweaver and am using an older version at work (cs3). Any and all help and suggestions are welcome and appreciated!!!

I would use divs creating a rt-hand column.
The first would hold the Facebook iFrane - give the box a width of maybe 300 and float it right.
The next is for the Twiiter wiggie - all you have to do with that one is specify a right margin, maybe 300 again or a little more,
Just tweak these values until it looks right.
You could even wrap both of these in another div container with an absolute width for more control, but I don't think that's required. And if I'm not mistaken, this is the classic faux-column technique?

    might be better on stackoverflow.

    HI everyone,
We have a department that wants to host their own Facebook site.
We'd like them to put forward a Business Case for this - so managers and the department realise what will be involved.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? Anyone want to share a template?
    Thanks,

The OPA Jave code like almost any other out there has a public interface which is documented and a private implementation which isn't There are various ways of hiding the 'private' implementations and indeed the Java SDK do quite a good job at this but I think its fairly safe to say that API's that arn't documented in the JavaDoc aren't documented for a good reason.
Most (but possibly not all) things you need to do are achievable through the public, documented API's.

  • Help with Facebook and Social Media wigets (Was: How do I fix the three probs that...)

I am having problems with the facebook or social media widgets. I would like the link to send viewers to my facebook business page, but when testing it shows my pic and a 'switch' sign (see screen shot) and when I open the site the message is as the other screenshot, great, but I don't know where to find which 'asset' is the problem and why. Also why bother having child pages if the menu doesn't reflect that? I see that drop down menus are an issue, also with some other forum members.
Thanks for any help offered!, I think I have solved the first problem now but still would appreciate any help with the other 2!
For some reason the facebook widget now loads the correct page, and I give up about the drop down menu, hopefully this will be addressed in the next update of Muse??

    Hello,
For the "asset" issue, try locating the asset in the assets panel. It should have an icon like this: http://jingsite.businesscatalyst.com/jing/2013-12-16_0917.png
For the child pages in the menus issue, go to the menu options (by clicking the small blue arrow in the right top corner of the menu), and then change the menu type to "All Pages" instead of "Top Level Pages".
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

    Your email password.

Open Mac Mail. From the Mac Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
Make a selection from the:  Default email reader   pop up menu.

    Hi Jyothi,
If you want to integrate like and share button of facebook in your ATG application then you can easily use the facebook SDK javascript for this purpose.

    Danke

  • Can I Import social media profiles and Twitter accounts into Address Book?

The new Address Book has all those swanky fields for Twitter account names and social media links. Anyone know a quick way to import that info or is it going to require a whole lot of manual copying and pasting? Thanks!

OE does not run on Windows 7. So what product are you upgrading from. Thunderbird needs to be on the same machine as Outlook e3xpress to import anything. If you have it running in a virtual machine (XP Mode) then you will have to figure out how to get Thunderbird to run in the same virtual machine (I have no idea)

  • How can I add social media icons to my email signature in thunderbird?

    Hi there,
I have already a signature with my logo but I would also like to add some social media icons.
Do you know how can I do that?
    Thanks
    K.

"a signature with my logo" - please explain.
If I wanted a signature with a logo, I'd create an HTML document containing text and an embedded image. Adding, for example, facebook and twitter icons would be done in just the same way, by embedding their icons into the same HTML signature document.
What's stopping you just adding more graphics?

If you're a web developer, then you already know what apps to use.
If you're a designer (like me) then Muse CC is your weapon of choice.
One simple strategy would be to create your web site, include all the articles you want to distribute, then link to each specific article/web page from your pages on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Unfortunately, there isn't a manual for Muse, so you need to watch videos:  http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-adobe-muse-cc/
YouTube is also your good friend when it comes to learning Muse.
    Good luck.

  • How to share to Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc. from an iBook

I'm having a very hard time creating a page at the end of my book where readers can share a quick blurb and my web site on various social media like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
My first approach was trying the same version of the Tweet button, the Like button, and the +1 button that you would add to a web site. These *don't* work out of the box because an iBooks HTML widget will not load external JavaScript or anything in an iframe. Has this been everyone else's experience? Am I doing something wrong?
Then, I made a widget that submitted predefined text and URLs to Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ through query parameters (which most of the share buttons do themselves behind the scenes). However, the implementation works but with severe drawbacks. You can log in to Twitter and tweet something but then you can't share on Facebook or Google+ due to the way iBooks HTML widgets handle URLs. Instead of opening URLs in Mobile Safari, like a plain iBooks Author link somewhere in the book text, the widget opens it's own browser window without any UI, location bar, history, or anything. Worse yet, there doesn't seem to be any way to navigate back or reset the widget to the original URL (main.html in Dashcode terms). This means whatever page you end up at after sharing something to say, Twitter, is the page the widget will always open from now on. To refresh the widget and share via another social service, you have to force quit and reopen the iBooks app.
You can see my code and try it out here: https://github.com/avk/iBooks-Social-Widget
The most important files are main.html and js/script.js
The widget.openURL(...) method, which can open links in Safari from a Dashboard widget, doesn't seem to be supported in iBooks HTML widgets.
All this seems wrong and unnecessarily difficult. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Unless both ipads were set up with the same Apple ID, there really isn't.
This does depend on the app however. I don't read iBooks, but there are some e-reader apps like Kindle that may allow you to 'loan' the book to someone else. Or, using an e-reader app, the book can be 'checked out' of a library that supports downloaded books. You have an account, 'borrow' the file, use an e-reader app to read it, and have a certain time frame in which to finish reading.
