Dreamweaver update 2014.1.1 is now live

The Dreamweaver team is happy to announce “Dreamweaver CC 2014.1.1” Win Build #6981 & Mac Build #6982 build.

While we do not foresee any issue with updating your application, it is always best to complete your immediate tasks before you update your software. I am locking this discussion so that we can discuss topics related to this release under more relevant headings.
Note: On the Creative Cloud application, the version appears as 2014.1. Use the Update button next to it.
If you do not see an update in Creative Cloud application, quit the application. Click the wheel icon on top and select Quit. Relaunch the application and the update should be listed now. To make sure that you have installed the latest update, open Dreamweaver after the update is complete (took me around 5 minutes over a high speed connection today), and select Help > About. You should see this screen. Ensure that the version is listed as 2014.1.1. The build number for Windows is 6981 and for Mac OS is 6982.
Tip: You can launch Dreamweaver directly from the Creative Cloud application by clicking the name of the software.
When you open the latest Dreamweaver update, the latest (and its most exciting feature) becomes immediately apparent. Using data from many sources, the team responsible for content and learning have put together a set of tutorials that will help new users get started with web design, and of course, Dreamweaver. I am very excited especially because we now have one repository that is available immediately within Dreamweaver.
Key feature set for this patch release:
New Welcome screen
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced user, or evaluating the new version of Dreamweaver, you can now get all the essential learning resources right on the Welcome Screen.
CSS Designer enhancements
This update includes a few changes to the CSS Designer user interface and a change in the default setting of the Show Set check box.
Enhancements to Extract panel
Live Guides and Element Quick View icon now appears in Live View when you drag images from the Extract panel. These visual aids help you place the image quickly and precisely in the required position.
Remote debugging of Live View
You can now remotely debug your Dreamweaver documents open in Live View using Google Chrome DevTools.
Change in the view mode of dynamic documents
Dynamic documents such as PHP, CFM, and ASP no longer open in Code View by default. They open in the same mode (Code/Live/Split) as the last closed document or the last document that was in focus.
Enhancements to Live View editing : Drag and drop elements, Marquee selection, Element Display enhancements, New Code View themes.

On a high speed internet connection, it took me under 5 minutes to install the application. After you install, open the application, and select Help > About. The version should be listed as 2014.1.1.

This is a known issue. They are working on it.
If you want you can have both versions installed. You could keep the older version for old projects for now and use the upgrade for new projects.

aibun So... it just happened again. This time, I was just moving an image position. Apparently the heavy black shadow around the alert box means Edge Animate keeps generating alert boxes infinitely (screenshot below).
It's really strange. My MacBook is brand new so I couldn't think of any internal causes.

DreamWeaver CC 2014 live view not correct

I am using the new DreamWeaver CC 2014 on Windows 7. I have a html doc using a separate CSS style sheet, JQuery, JQuery UI, and Modernizr. The page is setup using flexbox and displays as expected in Chrome and IE. Everything validates outs without warnings or errors. I turned on live view and the displayed page is not even close to how chrome shows the page.
Is any one else having similar issues?

Dreamweaver CC 2014 crashes when updating site cache

Hi everyone,
I'm using Dreamweaver CC 2014 on the Mavericks operating system for mac. Dreamweaver attempts to update a site cache for one of my sites but then it pauses for a few minutes and then crashes. I thought it could have been a corrupted cache file so I deleted the MacFileCache-********.dat file inside the Dreamweaver configuration folder but this didn't work. I tested again and I got the same result.
I just wondered if anyone has had this problem or whether there's a workaround?
Appreciate any advice.

I do have one workaround that worked for MOST of my folders. It is NOT the best option--but it helped me get a little more of my website recognized. (This is working on a mac with the latest version of Mavericks. Who knows WHAT Yosemite will do!)
I dragged my biggest folders out of the larger 'site' folder and on to the desktop. I ignored them and just began with the dreamweaver site manager--creating my site by pointing to the first few folders that had been listed under 'site'. Then, I added the folders on the desktop a few at a time. It worked until I got to a larger, complicated folder...then it froze again. I worked on this all day-- and I'm done for now. But I'm not giving up. With Adobe, there is always a good outcome. Sometimes, it just takes a little longer.
If I get all the kinks out, I'll let you know. Meantime, the more people who ask the question, perhaps the more likely it is to get a little help.

Many issues that were reported on this forum have been fixed in this release. Also, based on many requests, the option to print code has been reintroduced. Also, colored icons for folders in the Files panel has been brought back into Dreamweaver.
Code View performance improvements
Typing gets progressively slow as the number of lines of code increases.
Cursor (IP) disappears while typing and navigating in Code View.
Dreamweaver Crashes on closing a tag by entering </ in Code View.
Change the default keyboard shortcut for CTRL+LEFT to ALT+LEFT and CTRL+RIGHT to ALT+RIGHT and vice-versa.
On Mac 10.9, Dreamweaver crashes while selecting a file in File Dialog for Insert Image.
Dreamweaver displays a syntax error even if the PHP code is valid.
Other bug fixes
Issue while trying to insert <p> tag from Insert panel
Loc_JP: Win: Italics Japanese characters should be avoided in Dreamweaver.

Please try the following steps:
1. Make sure Creative cloud application is closed.
2. Close DW
3. Cache cleaning: Before looking for updates clean up the cache by deleting folders:
Mac     <user>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0
Win Vista     : <OS Drive>:\Users\<user>\Appdata\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0
Win7/Win8   <OS Drive>:\Users\<user>l\appdata\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0
Win XP <OS Drive>:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0
4. Open DW and Look for updates.
Please revert in case of any issues or concerns.

Just installed security update 2014-002, now Itunes will not open. Have rstrated but no change, need help to fix, please

Believe I've firxed my problem, at least, ITunes is now working again. I followed the information provided from a couple of posts on this thread, (1) re restarting with command-s held down; did it twice, made no differerence; (2) manually re-installed the Security update; no difference; each time restarting, no effect; (3) shutdown the computer; I did for 35 minutes, upon restart, ITunes is back to normal, seems to be working fine. Turning the computer off must clear the cache?

Index file freezes up live view dreamweaver cc 2014 .

I have a html5 site that the index file was rendering fine yesterday in live view and today it freezes up dreamweaver cc 2014. The page will not render in live view however when viewed in a browser it views correctly. The rest of the site files will view properly just not the index.html file.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Are you using valid HTML code?

Does your index page contain any neutral protocol links to 3rd party servers like TypeKit?
If yes, try changing //: to http://
If that doesn't help, we'll need to see a link to your page.

Restore the device and set it up as new.
Either plug it into itunes and select restore under the summary tab, or (post ios5) go into settings, general, reset, erase all content and data. When either asks to save a backup, you dont have to....hit No etc..
This will bring the ipad to the start screen like you just bought it and erase everything.

The phone was hacked to unlock it. It relocked when you updated. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. If you are not/never were an AT&T customer and you do not have an original store receipt from either an AT&T or Apple store in the U.S. for a no commitment AT&T iPhone, they will NOT unlock it.
Buy a new phone.

I'm trying to update Dreamweaver CC 2014 and after I run the update my licensed version becomes a 30 day trail.

I work at a community college and we have a volume license for the full Adobe suite. All the software seems to update fine with the exception of Dreamweaver CC 2014 which after being updated goes from a fully licensed version to a 30 trail.

Re-license the Creative Cloud product:
Launch the problem Creative Cloud application.
On the Creative Cloud application trial screen, click License This Software.
Sign In with your Adobe ID associated with your Creative Cloud membership.

I have 2 webpages, one is with 12 columns fluid grid based and another is without fluid grid based.
Both are open in same site folder in Dreamweaver CC 2014.
I want to resize/edit my fluid grid div column in design view.
But i m not getting the proper menu (view-->Code and Design)
why the problem is happening ?
If my non-fluid page is active for edit purpose than i am getting the "View"-->"Code and Design"
if my fluid page is active for edit purpose than i am no getting the "View"-->"Code and Design"
but i am getting "View"-->"Code and live"
i am unable to resize my fluid div using the resize handler.
this is fluid based, i need "code and design view"
this is non-fluid based

There has been much discussion about this lately. You can add your vote for a return of Design View below.
Provide "Design View" for Fluid Grid Webpages
It's an "improvement" made to the October release to promote more people to use Live View editing in FGLayouts. As we're finding out, the removal of Design View in FGLayouts is severely impacting people's workflows.

Business Catalyst & PhoneGap Build functionality are now available as an Extension in the AddOns page. To have these functionality enabled please install the Extensions from https://creative.adobe.com/addons
Following are the steps to do so :
1. Install Latest Adobe Creative Cloud Application.
2. Install Dreamweaver CC 2014 from Adobe Creative Cloud Application.
3. Launch Dreamweaver CC 2014.
4. Goto Windows>>Browse AddOns.
5. Quit Dreamweaver.
6. Now in the AddOns Page Search for Business Catalyst & PhoneGap Build.
7. Click to install the Extension from the AddOns page.
8. Wait for a notification in the Adobe Creative Cloud Application, refer to the attached snapshot.

Maybe 4 or 5 years ago; but now the need to develop mobile ready sites or apps using HTML5, JavaScript and CSS has increased. PhoneGap is presently used more than before to the point that Adobe has recognize its popularity in many ways. Making it part of Dreamweaver is not in my opinion excess luggage. Developers have always the option to pick and choose what to use from Dreamweaver. Maybe a specific developer doesn't need the PHP features in Dreamweaver; that doesn't mean that feature has to be removed.
Most of the things we do with Dreamweaver can be done without it. Dreamweaver is there to help us save time and be more productive. This is why I feel that helpful features shouldn't be removed; instead they should be improved and solutions implemented to issues that sometime seem impossible to address.
